Where does Jesus say the "ruler" or "god" of this world is Satan?
  • BibleAnswerMan - In Reply - 3 years ago
Well said, and I agree with your conclusion. The Spirit-baptized Christians today are ruling and reigning with Jesus and have the power to disarm the devil and his minions. The unfortunate part is church leaders aren't telling their members this. They need to get these baptized in fire Christians aware of their spiritual gifts and provide the avenues for them so they can exercise their gift(s) against the devil. 1 Corinthians 12:8-11.

Water baptism or not has nothing to do with sin or salvation. Baptism was a ritual first performed in the Old Testament to cleanse the temple priests before entering the temple. There were baths outside the temple for people to cleanse themselves before entering. John the Baptist performed baptisms for people to express their repentance for their sins before Jesus came. Jesus got baptized simply because of the Jewish rite, since He was Jewish.

We are now in Christ who baptizes us in His Spirit, and water baptism does nothing but get you wet, and show attendees you have repented of your sins, and Jesus is now your savior.

The unpardonable sin was when the temple leaders accused Jesus of doing miracles through the power of the devil, and not through His Father. As long as you don't accuse Jesus of performing His miracles through the devil, you are safe!

There are two realms of existence, the eternal spiritual realm, and the temporary physical realm. God and His beings, cherubs, seraphs, angels, and watchers exist in His spiritual realm. In our current physical realm in our physical body, we have a spirit and soul. We need a physical body to exist in our physical realm. When we die, we go to God's realm or the spirit realm, and we need our spirit body to exist in the spirit realm. Our soul is our unique identity of consciousness or awareness. Without it, we would be like an inanimate object, but we have it so we can be aware of God and our existence.

When we are saved, and God baptizes us with His Spirit, it intercourses with our spirit and He becomes alive in us, and we alive in Him, and we can understand it because of our soul.

When we die, our physical body goes back into the dust it came from, but our soul and spirit go on forever with God in the light of heaven or without him in eternal darkness.

    Part 2

In the case of smd in a death bed some churches do what they call air baptism. They baptize the person in air in absence of water or baptize him by sprinkling water on him. My opinion is that if bapt. is impossible to do God doesn't hold you accountable for that.

I have to stop now its 2:30 in the morning here. I will come back tomorrow with my thoughts on faith/works/salvation.

    Part 1

Hi Chris, lets talk about John's baptism.

I will start with Paul meeting those disciples in Ephesus. He asked them if they were baptized in the Spirit after they were baptized in water (should they?). They answered that they never heard of the HS. He asks them in what name were they baptized (how come they never heard of the HS since in baptism we are baptised in the name of F and S and the HS, this being another evidence that believers were not baptised just in the name of Jesus). They said they were bapt. John's baptism. And he says Acts 19:4 "Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance ..." So John's bapt. was a bapt. of repentance. If you make a search about that you will find out that John's bapt. was done as follows. The person to be bapt. went into the river until his waist was submerged, then he stayed like that and started confessing his sins and when he finished confessing he dived in the water and rised. That was the ritual.

There is a detail in Jesus' bapt. that if one is not aware will not notice.

Matthew 3:16 "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water:..." Jesus went up straight away. He had nothing to confess, no sin at all. He went into the river and immediately dived and came up.

That is why John tried to prevent Him from being baptized. John knew that Jesus had no sins, there wasn't a reason for Him to be baptized. It was useless for Him. But what did Jesus said " they had to fulfill all righteousness. But why, He had no sin. No reason to be baptized. Because it was a commandment from God and He had to obey although that didn't have any usefulness for Him. Now if Jesus obeyed, shouldn't we? Notice please that Jesus started His ministry with baptism. All other things followed that. But we have gone through these before. You ask many questions like if smd is in death bed and has no time to be baptized. I don't have the right answer to that but my ignorance doesn't cancel the word of God.

Dear Bible Answer Man: I disagree with the PostMil camp; but one saying a book with that doctrine states is that the church today often doesn't hold God to His promises in faith in the fact that the gates of hell will not prevail against His church. Satan has fallen as lightning from heaven; and although he rules in this world as ALLOWED by God he still has no authority over the church unless we cede it to Him.

Sadly; we also are living in a society that permits all sorts of evils and doesn't dole out the punishment that God allows those who are in authority to render for crimes. Evil is tolerated; hence continues to spread as a tentacle or spider's web. It is particularly grievous when those in the church (yes Protestant churches) allow abuse to go on because of some pride mentality for those in authority. Our whole society has decayed in a large part because we haven't stood up for marriages and family; and are no better apparently when it comes to divorce stats.

Those who truly are walking in the Spirit; and are producing 30 and 100 fold fruit; shining as stars and on fire for the Lord are few and far between today. When you see them; you know them if you are looking for evidence of spiritual life out there. Satan is said to be a roaring lion; but it seems he doesn't have to work so hard with today's many distractions on social media; etc.

We also need to recognize with international events in particular that there are judgments meted out and kings allowed to rule to fulfill God's purposes. As individuals; we can only bravely assist others who are struggling. Oftentimes that just involves a bit more giving for missions; and of course prayer seems to be greatly underdone these days.

So in conclusion; I agree that in some things we can only wait for Christ to come; but let us be sure that we are busy doing the work He has called us to do as ministers of reconciliation and fulfilling the Great Commission.

I went through mental abuse and a couple other situations growing up myself. I guess the best appeal is looking at the life of Christ Himself and the fate of the Apostles. All who are godly in Christ Jesus will to one degree or another suffer persecution. ( 2 Tim. 3:12). Christ does turn all things for the good for THOSE WHO LOVE HIM ( Romans 8:28). This verse also shows predestination as to our faith and favor towards those who are ultimately called out from the world to be His children.

The best explanation I can give from my own experience is forgiveness; the love for those who are unloving is Agape love; and only found after we have the Holy Spirit indwelling us. Paul Himself from scripture was at least compicit in murder and imprisonment of believers until he was knocked down in the Book of Acts. We have modern day examples of those who survived the Rwanda massacre; and Corrie Ten Boom's tale of the Holocaust and forgiving his tormentor; as two examples of this. I was able to make some reconciliation on my end; and I know those who have also been through sexual and physical abuse that have seen restoration. It is important to seek prayer in these matters; and be an example of longsuffering.

The result will go one direction or another; but we at least will be free from the bondage of unforgiveness in our hearts.

We ourselves; of course need to be cautious that the besetting sins that pass through families don't affect us and especially that we don't treat our own children or others in that way. Only by the grace of God can we be kept from evil overtaking us; in one form or another. Our own suffering can bring empathy toward others unlike those who haven't experienced suffering like that; as well as have more than ample spiritual power to overcome. We must NOT look to the world or flesh for a quick emotional fix; or toxic relationships. We don't want the cure to be worse than the disease!

May He richly bless you and yours. Rich P

Addendum. The end of the 1000 years appears also to be a works judgment. Since death and hell are thrown into the lake of fire; again they have no hope. Revelation 20:15 mentions if someone is NOT written in the Book of Life. That would be a foregone conclusion for the first group; or for those physically surviving into the Millenium who may "die at 100 years old being accursed" ( Isaiah 65:20). Those who live the whole span of time until the end of the 1000 years may be judged having never died physically; with some going into eternity and hence being in the Book of Life. That helps that verse to make sense and fits in with the concepts I already discussed as to explain the fates and times of judgments from those of all dispensations.

God never said to join a religion. Organized religions will actually create obstacles between you and your relationship with God. Your Christianity is between you and God, and after you are saved and baptized in His Spirit of fire, He will personally guide you into all truth

    Dear Richard

Apollo and Apollyon are different words. Apollo was a God in Greek mythology. His name is of uncertain origin. Apollyon means " him who destoys" in Greek. Still some believe there is a connection between these names. GBU

Matthew 25:31-45 show what happens when Christ returns. For those who do NOT believe in the Milennium period they say that's it; the final judgment equivalent to that of Revelation 20:11-15. Notice the parameters though. The distinction is made among those who did certain works such as visiting one in prison. It is clear that is not for this dispensation but for a time when there is no question who Christ is (as shown from the reaction of the wicked by the 6th Seal). It will be clear after the Resurrection of those in Christ and the Rapture combined that scripture is true; at least to anyone not deliberately avoiding the obvious conclusion. Thus; the result or fruit of true faith at that time can ONLY be demonstrated in the reaction toward God's faithful; which no doubt will include those 144,000 and other believers who are martyred en masse after whatever imprisonment occurs.

After 1000 years of peace on earth; there will be sudden fire from heaven during Satan's last stand. It appears that only those who have transgressed die at that time. There will be no time as there is in the Tribulation for Jerusalem to be attacked; women raped; and men massacred in any prolonged campaign.

The Resurrection of all in John 5:28-29 may appear to be all at once; but the physical resurrection of the dead seems to be at the end of the Millenium (with the "Day of the Lord" likely encompassing the time from the beginning of the Trib to end of Millenium) 2 Peter 3:10.

Basically those taking the mark of the beast WILL all go to sheol for 1000 years. The rest who are PHYSICALLY alive once Christ returns (i.e. those hidden in Petra and the few Gentiles who make it to the end) will be judged if they are able to enter into the Kingdom or not. That's how I see it; perhaps they will immediately die or be cast into hell alive at that time.

Rightly dividing scripture takes careful work.

    Ron:

Psalms 78:2 I will open my (God the word's) mouth in a PARABLE

The tree OF KNOWLEDGE of good and evil.

The fruit of that tree IS KNOWLEDGE of good and evil.

You are the garden of Eden; the tree of knowledge of good and evil is in you, and when you come to TRUTH, then you also come to THE KNOWLEDGE that the TREE OF LIFE is also IN YOU. BUT: Cherub with sword's of FIRE surround the TREE OF LIFE; so you are going to have to go through FIRE to partake of the fruit of the TREE OF LIFE.

Ezekiel 31:9 I (the Father) have made him (Christ) fair by the multitude of his BRANCHES (you and I): so all the trees of Eden (you and I), that were in the garden of God (you and I), envied him (Christ).

Colossians 1:27 ....this mystery .....Christ in you .....

Ezekiel 29:49 Then said I, Ah Lord GOD, they say of me, doth he not speak in PARABLES.

    God Bless You.

    Dear brother/sister

The word baptism originates from the greek Baptisma. It means immersion, submersion etc. So since the early Christians used this term, we must conclude that in baptism the person to be baptized must be fully immersed in the water. Apart from the Bible there are also writings of early christians that confirm that. In the same manner when we are baptised in the HS, we mean that we are submerged in the Spirit and so we get filled with Him. Like one submerges a glass of water in a tank of water and fill it with water.

My beliefs about baptism don't seem to differ from yours if I understood well. But let me explain myself and be clear about it. When we say that baptism in water is essential for salvation we don't mean that the water or the function of baptism have some magical properties that save people, nor the actual work/act done by people saves. It is the sacrifice of Jesus that saves us. But still it is a command from God required to be done by people to "complete/formally accept (or use any other word you think is appropriate)" the salvation offered to them. It is very evident in the Gospel that it is a requirement, a condition, the first step for a new believer.

Baptism in water is a "milestone" in a believer's life. It symbolises the complete death of the old, sinful person and the resurrection of a new person ready to walk the path the Word of God shows to him. And the end (if one follows till the end) is eternal life.

The eighth king will through his mortal head wound will appear to die and appear to be Resurrected. This can be seen in Rev. 13:3 and Zech 11:17. The power of this appears to be from the entity Apollyon shown in the 5th Trumpet ( Rev. 9:11). Thus; he will have the power of the Devil which ultimately is because of God's authority allowing that short space of rulership; but Antichrist is indwelled with the King of the Abyss.

Remember that there are 10 Kings that rule; and 3 are subdued. ( Daniel 7:24). Thus; we see the "little horn" coming out from what was part of the Grecian empire; broken up into 4 parts earlier. Somehow; he is associated with the other kings; likely from the same region. That appears to be a conlomorate beast; with the lion (Babylon); bear (Media/Persian); leopard (Greece) and the 4th one (Rome). Some would argue the more modern designation of England and the USA (as the "young lions of Tarshish) in Ezekiel 38:13; then Russia being the bear. Nonetheless; the last kingdom has characteristics and likely geographical intersections of the approximate boundaries of these ancient kingdoms; and many say it is likely a Mediterranean mainly Muslim confederacy that would help to fulful such prophecies as Psalm 83; Ezekiel 38 and others.

Any theory that the Son of Perdition is Judas Iscariot is fairly well knocked out by Hebrews 9:27. He will undoubtably be worshipped and the mark brought about in its finality after this event ( Rev. 13:4). Since the little horn is associated with Greece; and Apollo is named in the Greek language it is possible this entity that energized Alexander the Great will be the force indwelling Antichrist. No doubt it is being held back today until he who holds it back is taken out of the way.

If Eve ate a apple where's it say it. Why a fig leaf over the loyns and not a apple leaf over the mouth. Adam got the same fruit did he eat a apple that's not there either. Hi Dan , my KJV is fab because it has pronunciation symbols all the way through it and a table of these symbols for me to check , sadly I can't help you if your Bible doesn't also have them sad face , e.g. that symbol over the letter o makes it sound like the o in the word nor , or if that was over the letter a , the a sounds like the a in the word fare . My Bible is a Collins Comfort Text and I got it from a very well know shopping site and its second hand . Maybe you can find one , I hope so .

Hello, the Bible says it was a fruit and never said it was an apple. Sometimes artists draw an apple, but that means nothing. Apples don't natively grow in the middle east from my understanding and think the fruit was more likely a fig or something else that is common there. Of course the garden of Eden was special and could have even had fruit not found anywhere else on earth, but the scripture only says fruit.

  • Giannis - In Reply - 3 years ago
    Dear Steve .

I think you are right about the promises given to Israel are to be distinguished from the ones to the church. The promises given to Israel were mainly material promises, the promises given to the church are mainly spiritual. But I think you are not that right of whom is the Lord in our life. Satan is the ruler in the world of unbelievers and draws people to distraction. People choose to follow him and God doesn't intervene most of the times since people threw Him out of their lives. But in the church God is the ruler, the Lord, because we ask Him to be our Lord. So what happens in our life is due to God's permission. He allows things to happen. He can prevent them if He wants to. But for His own good purposes He allows things to happen when these things serve His plans for us. Surely what the evil people do affects our lives ie we have gone through world wars, believers and not believers. But still God is in control and we can face/fight all those with His help and be winners at the end.

    In Matthew 7:24-25. it says

"Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock."

The rain, the floods and the wind will come in one's life, but his house will not fall, because he built his life on the Word of God, on Jesus, on Father God.

I presume you are speaking of the government of the USA. The government is the product of the voters. Certain voters voted in the evil people running our government. This implies these voters have evil in their hearts as they condone what the government is doing. We all have a voice for our representatives if we do not like what they are doing, and also a voice for our neighbors. It is up to us, first off to vote, then to vote in the people we think will run the government according to how the Bible says or our Constitution, which most people know is founded upon the Bible.
