We're the Lost Books of the Bible, like the Infancy Gospel, God inspired? Should they have been included?

    Reply to Joyce,

God not only remains in the fire with us when we are in the fire like He was in the fire with the three Hebrews in the furnace mentioned in Daniel, but God often puts His children in the fire for their growth and perfection.

    To Mike,

The difference between the saved and lost is seen in their attitudes towards God. Those who hear God's voice and reject it due to a greater love for sin will be damned. Those who hear God's voice and reject their sin in favor of receiving Jesus as their Savior will be saved.

Esau revealed his attitude toward God in the matter when he spoke disrespectfully of the things and promises of God and openly chose the immediate satisfaction of fleshly desires over the promised future blessings of an inheritance from God.

    To Rosalia:

We can do things with help from the Holy Spirit that we cannot do without His help. Some things like loving others, being kind, being helpful, serving God instead of serving the flesh, and so forth.

Hello! I am doing a paper against OSAS (Once Saved Always Saved) and I would just like some God given advice from fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. I go to a baptist church and am in a close friendship with a teenage preacher from the church. I am for some reason incredibly nervous about writing a paper on this topic and have put it off for months because of my fear of it. So if there is anybody here who has done something like this before or has had a discussion with a baptist friend, I would love to get some advice from you. Thank you! :)

Good day, from my perspective on this scripture indeed our Lord is with us all the time. Through thick and thin, good and evil, good times and bad times. Our Father has a dwelling place and it is within, He makes His abode in us!

    God bless you

The last wars will be fought by Israel and the Palestinians ( maybe Russia and China too.)

LET ME POINT OUT THAT ISRAEL ISN'T EVEN 10 MILES WIDE.

we're talking about a future 200 million man Army assembling to kill every person in Israel.

I believe the Ark of The Testament; Which is in heaven for now; see Revelation 22. It's in heaven with the Tree of Life :) We will see it at the Last War, when Jesus returns as the Lamb__with His Bride.

  • ESAU AND JACOB__COVENANTS AND WARS PART 1 - In Reply on Malachi 1 - 3 years ago
Genesis 25-27: Tells the story of Esau and Jacob. Jacob and Rebekah worked together to cheat Esau out of his birthright as elder son. Esau made it easy because he'd rather have a bowl of stew than his birthright. He only fought for it when he saw it given to Jacob.

It seems wrong but Esau had no regard for those things until he realized what He had done. It says God HATED Esau for the treachery. This doesn't sanction cheating and treachery. It teaches that when God gives you a blessing, don't throw it away on something temporal.

Esau left Jewish culture and married into other culture and religion. However, to this very day, Esau is still trying to get his blessing away from Jacob. (God changed Jacobs name to Israel.)

The wars in the Mid-East today, are still about the Covenants God made with Abraham and of Abraham's wife SARAH. Ishmael received his own blessing from God. ( Genesis 15 & forward). God clearly explained borders inside the Covenant.

Ishmaels descendants (Palestinians) want everything God gave Israel through the Abrahamic Covenant. Jews have returned to Israel and now the land (the Fig Tree Jesus spoke of), is fertile and blooming. This is prophesy being fulfilled NOW. It's no secret. google it. I followed Esaus descendants to the eastern lands of Israel: a very difficult study.

The Palestinians are making deals with Russia; Russia is making deals with China. Search CHINA in the search engine. 3 scriptures say the Pestilences origins are China and mid-east lands. You gotta use ancient maps with the ancient country names on it.

Begin reading the Bible alongside the news, or even Google news. GOD will not allow Israel to be "wiped off the face of the Earth,"

    As some countries threaten daily.

They do not accept Gods plans for the "end of days."

You can pick up Esau's history by googling Esau's geneology. You'll need to Google ancient maps too.

Studies lead to eastern Israel and Palestinian lands.

    Matthew 24, Luke 21.

    Thank you, Jesse.

God is true to His words. I stop thinking. Surely understand to walk in Spirit.

My heart already literally stopped last year due to COVID and yet God brought me back. I know I still have things to do for His Glory.

    Deuteronomy 33:25

Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.

    26

There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.

    27

The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

    2 Corinthians 9:8

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." Revelation 12:11 KJV

    Hey Jennifer Zink,

    Just my understanding.

Soul and spirit are two different words, but some seem to think of being the same and are hard to separate in our mind. Hebrew word nephesh meaning a soul, living being, life, self, person, desire, passion, appetite, emotion. The Greek word psuche meaning the soul, life, self, a person's distinct identity. The soul is our personality, and is made up of our mind, our emotion, and our will.

The word spirit, the Bible writers used the Hebrew word ruach meaning breath, wind, spirit, or the Greek word pneuma also meaning wind, breath, spirit. The spirit in us is our breath that is our life, and it is the part of us that can communicate with God through His Spirit, God is a Spirit John 4:24.

In our soul/who we are, us, we live according to what we think, and we practice a wide range of human emotions, and we often respond to things according to how we are feeling. We magnify ourselves, even if what we do is good, we make decisions with our will. The desires of the flesh are very tempting, the spirit of the world.

When we are born again, we are born of the Spirit in our human spirit, He comes to live in our spirit. We receive God in our spirit and magnify Him through our soul like Psalms 69:30 Luke 1:46-47. It is like we walk into a room and flip the light switch the flow of the Spirit turns on the light that shines out of our soul.

There will be daily battles of the soul/flesh and spirit, they are contrary to each other. Our spirit/conscience the recorder of all we do and think and what is written in the books. The spirit is the steering wheel of our soul. We can be like the song, Jesus take the wheel, or we can crash and burn our soul.

    God bless,

How many times is the word family mentioned in the old testament? Not families just family. I know it's only mentioned one time in the New Testament in Ephesians 3:15.

    Thank you in advance.

No "religion" for a religion is a set of rules made by man and God set HIS plan in motion for us to follow not mans. When He sent His son (birth) to die for your sins and Resurrected Him for our Justification.(for we are "justified" thru Christ). Just if I'd never sinned. We are forgiven for ALL past, present and future sins. so in answer to your Question..the one and ONLY belief we are to have is simple and that is merely to *"Believe with all your heart that Christ was born, died and resurrected, keep Him in your heart as your savior, love everyone yet putting God first in any and everything we do. Pray always.! IT IS THAT SIMPLE..NOTHING ELSE .

    Ronnette,

Amen, and thank you for sharing this piece of scripture. It comes from Isaiah 64:4. Man and his human faculties cannot understand the things of God. In my own human way of thinking, I have no idea. Eye hath not seen and ear has not heard the things that God has prepared for those that love Him. It comes by inspiration and by God's Spirit.

God Bless, and get well soon!

    Richard,

Here is what I have learned about Matthew 6:22. Matthew 6:19-23 have to be taken together to get the context of what it is saying in Verse 22. This section of scripture has to do with the correct understanding of wealth. Please keep in mind that Jesus is speaking to the Jews, the Hebrew people. He tells them in Matthew 6:21, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." The Jews used to have a phrase, "Wherever you are at all times is where you treasure is, and that is where your heart is going to be."

In Matthew 6:22-23, Jesus talks about the eye. He said the light of the body is the eye: and therefore if your eye is single, the whole body is full of light. But if the eye is evil, the whole body shall be full of darkness. Therefore if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness.

What in the world is He talking about? Well, a Jewish person would have understood this. Here's what that means from a Hebrew standpoint: First of all the word "single" has to do with focus, for the good eye is a generous person. The bad eye is a stingy person (in the eyes of the Jews).

So if you have a good eye, and you are generous, then your focus is right. If you have a bad or corrupt eye, you are stingy and your focus is in the wrong place. That's how the Jews would have understood this.

Chapter 8 is the 7th seal, and it's speaking about the seals, Angels, and trumpets(of deception) that came before them and what happens in them.

Beginning in v7 is what happens in the first trumpet of deception, sounding now and during the hour of temptation, the consumer stage of when the locust army appears on earth and kills 1/3 of people spiritually... trees in the verse is symbolic of people,,, the trumpets are trumpets of deception,,, people are deceived into believing the anti-christ is the true Christ(the rapture), and when we worship or follow other than the true Christ, we die a spiritual death.

9:4 is when those(trees)who have received the seal of God are protected from the trumpets of deception, and The Locust Army that appears on earth during that time.

Dear Linda, I don't really get what the problem is. Is it that you are questioning baptism in water or totally submersion in water in baptism? If you are questioning the former, the answer is that if one isn't baptised in water, while he can do it, then he cannot be saved. If you are questioning total submersion in water, then yes this is the proper method of baptism. Why wouldn't you want to do this? Are you afraid, is there a health problem or something else that makes you not to want to do that? If there is a specific problem you can discuss about it with your pastor and come out with a solution. If you just don't want to do it without having an important reason, then it is considered disobedience to God's commandment and this is something very important, you should think carefully about it.

    Hi Suze,

You are right. No created being is eternal as God alone is Eternal with no beginning and no end to Himself as He is Life itself.

We will share in His eternal Life when we are changed from mortal to immortal and live forever like the angels, who can never die. So, wonderful that God chose this for us sinners. The holy angels never sinned and do not need to be redeemed yet they rejoice when a sinner repents and believes the Gospel of Jesus Christ, knowing that his new believer will spend eternity with them.
  • GiGi - In Reply on Psalms 97 - 3 years ago
    Good Morning Alex,

Thanks for pointing out this passage in Corinthians. It is what i thought about when reading the posts on this thread. We are mortal now. We all have a definite beginning. Before that beginning we did not exist. Therefore, we are not eternal as God is eternal. The "Good News" is that, we will be changed upon after death and/or in the resurrection we will become immortal, living forever with the Lord. The angels are immortal, but not eternal like God is. They had a beginning but cannot die. Absolute eternity belongs only to God, but He, in His wisdom, love and grace, choose in His redemptive plan for us to share His eternal life with Himself and the angels. How wonderful is that!

    Kenneth,

Jesus did not say it in those exact words, but it is true that a person must repent and ask for forgiveness in order to be saved. Romans 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." That's a promise! If a person with a repentant heart genuinely calls out to Him and cries out to Him for mercy and to save them, He will do it. Jesus said in John 3:3 that "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." The word "again" in the Greek text is literally the word above. It is not PALIN, which is the word for again. It is the word ANOTHEN, which means "from above." What Jesus is saying is that if a person is not born from above (A Spiritual birth), he is not able to see the Kingdom of God.

Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that you become a new creation when God's Spirit comes into your spirit. You become a new person. So a person must be born of God's Spirit in order to enter into heaven. In fact, Romans 8:9 tells us that if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. The connection here is that a person must belong to Christ in order to enter into heaven, and the evidence that a person belongs to Christ is that they have His Spirit living in them. A person belongs to Christ if they have His Spirit literally dwelling in them (Permanently). I enter into heaven not because of who I am, or what I've done. I enter in because one day when I stand before God, He will see His Son in me.

    God Bless!!!
