To Dav47. Perhaps you should revisit the story of the woman at the well in John 4. Read it carefully, especially the part where Jesus asks her to go and get her husband. Take it from there and let me know if Jesus was referring to her one-night stands or living with this man in verse 18. Really? That was His whole point to her. She was mocking the sacred union of man and woman by having 5 'husbands' to that point in her life. Where was her commitment to them, as you referred to in your response to me? When we refuse to rightly divide the Word of Truth ( 2 Timothy 2) within our lives, we can be overcome by false perspectives presented by Satan himself and fall into erroneous thinking in our Christian walk. Have a good day.

Being saved does not give you a license to perpetually sin. Does not give you the right to go out and murder thinking you will just need to repent. I am personally so very glad that GOD is judge. HE alone knows what was in a mans heart and HE alone judges fairly righteously. You hear people say all the time once saved always saved. This is only true if you try with all your heart to do what is right, you can sin so much that that you lose your soul. People do fall back for the flesh is weak and without a spiritual awareness the flesh takes over. We have to live in this world for a short time but we don't have to be of the this world.

Book of John, Jesus is the Light

1 In the beginning was the WORD, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (People not born again yet)

The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.

    Read these verses.

    Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7

    Isaiah 6:8

    Romans 1:20 *

    Colossians 2:9

    Acts 17:27-30

    1 John 5:7

    John 10:30

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and GODHEAD so that they are without excuse:"

    Genesis 1:1

    The Father purposes

The Word (Jesus) speaks. ( John 1:1)

The Spirit (Holy Spirit) executes the spoken word. Action.

    All working together.

    Matthew 1:23

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God WITH US. [Jesus]

Paul told him to believe on the LORD; but what you miss is what did the LORD say to do? to believe on the LORD means to do all the LORD told us to do and walk in the light. As a Christian we cant just talk the talk, we have to walk the walk; We practice what we preach. That is to be baptized (full immersion) in the name of the FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT ( Mathew 28:19). If we believe on the LORD than we are to do what HE tells us.

S Spencer let me have your attention just a minute PLZ I love ya but ..There is a time element involved when that book is gona be opened...Its was after the book was opened that they sang a New SONG Rev 5 : 9 kjv ...Then the woman goes into travail and birth pains And humanity is the woman the world as Jesus said the field is the world where that good seed will be sown...And this has to happen no matter what you or I believe...Even Jeremiah saw ALL men in travail and birth pains Jeremiah 30 : 6 ...But the book has to be opened 1st...Simply b/c the contents of that book are the seeds of the sower that is gonna impregnate this whole world...Thus the babes and suckling he mentions....Remember Jesus said the good seeds are the words of God ( the book ) in the fathers right hand....But we cannot do anything till the book is opened but rejoice every second thanking God for the lamb of God and that baptism of the H.G. and FIRE...

......Steven we are NOT our own we are ALL bought with a price his blood which means every sinner has to have his part in the lake of fire...Wither he wants it or not its Gods JUDGEMENT AND HIS LOVE for humanity ...That FIRE is his words as he told Jeremiah i will make the WORDS in your mouth as FIRE and this ppl the wood....As our God is a Consuming fire and the word is God that new Covenant his (words of life)...Remember Paul didn't want any part of Christ...he was antichrist...murdering folks that even believed in Christ...But God saved him anyway...So we rejoice in the lord every day b/c of what he did at calvary and his baptism of the H.G. AND FIRE..That refiners fire and fullers soap...As Jesus said if i be lifted up i will draw all men unto me.

.....The bible cd not even refer to Jesus as the 2 nd ADAM if his spot and stain ( his blood ) were not applied to everyman no exceptions.. The curse of 1 st ADAM was applied to all men no exceptions...Thank God for that lake of fire it simply a lake of Godliness...as our God is a Consuming fire.

Whole WORD of GOD is good:

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Part 2; Bible speaks often of gossipers, sounds like your Study group needs to spend more time on studying the WORD of GOD instead of judging and gossiping about this woman. This is what is meant in 1 Corinthians 14:34, people chattering in church, no gender here. Repent and let her study the WORD in peace for I ask you who committed the bigger sin?
  • Dav47 - In Reply on 1 Corinthians 5:11 - 3 years ago
You are indeed judging in my opinion. In the eyes of GOD they are married. Just because they don't have a piece of paper stating they are married, doesn't mean that they are not. When 2 come together making a commitment to each other they become 1. Fornication is different, this is when people don't make a commitment to each other but go out every Friday night looking for a different partner. Whenever a man spreads his skirt over a woman they became man and wife in the eyes of GOD ( Exodus 22:16). Quit judging her and study, rightly dividing the WORD.
  • Dav47 - In Reply on Ezekiel 23 - 3 years ago
I believe you are asking if this is the same WORD in John 1:19Logos) ? who became flesh? If you notice the W in Joh. 1:1 is capitalized giving credence that it indeed is JESUS. The word (Heb. dabar) in Ezekiel is not; so if your question is are the same then no.

Hi Kathy , the best place to look for the answers to all your questions is defo the Bible . If you haven't yet read it please do , im sure you will enjoy it and possibly be very surprised by some of the things you will discover in there , for example , you might discover that it doesn't say anywhere that people go to heaven , Jesus did but I believe he was a very special case , Acts Ch 4 V 1+2 and 1st Thessalonians Ch 4 V 13-18 . There are very many verses that speak of humans being resurrected at the return of Christ and us dwelling on earth with Christ after his return and our resurrection . I can't find one verse that plainly states that we will live in heaven with God and Jesus . Please don't take my word for any of this , I urge you to read the Bible for yourself with an open heart and mind , much love to you in Christ .

Thanks Mark, for sharing with us this sad account. This is always a difficult area to deal with; the fact that she still wants to attend your Bible study & Church fellowship, may indicate she is trying to mitigate her sin, seeking God's Approval, by her being faithful to the 'Church'. She might even be giving that little extra in the offering plate. Unfortunately, each one of us has different perceptions as to how to live this Christian life. And as much as you're using the Bible to teach it, when it comes to applying it to the situation we're actually in, the distinction of right & wrong can sometimes become blurred, especially if we're out of step with the Spirit. Since she has co-habited previously, this will have 'softened' her once strong stand to never be repeated again, in her present relationship.

You have corrected her, the Word of God is being given her, & even the warning of Divine Discipline if the situation is not rectified. It's up to the Elders as to how to deal with her, but that too might be hard, if they are not inclined to do so or other matters of 'sin' are allowed to exist within the congregation. And I don't believe that you're judging her; God's Word needs to be shared in love & applied with all urgency, but as sinners ourselves, the Word is ever before us all, "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." And how many 'great' men have fallen because of their supposed infallibility. But we must remain prayerful & confident, that our work has been done - it is only the Spirit of God Who can speak intimately to her heart & grant her help & fortitude in this matter, restoring to full fellowship with the Lord.

Yes Mohammad, Ezekiel chapter 23 is the Word of God. I realize that it comes to us as an awful picture of wickedness but it was a message that God gave to His prophet Ezekiel to declare.

I can't give you a full commentary of this chapter, but to state, that it is an allegory (an allegory is when particular names are given, but are representative of the actual people & the actual message which it conveys). This chapter is a warning to two 'sisters' (Samaria, representing the Northern Kingdom: Israel) and Jerusalem (representing the Southern Kingdom: Judah).

Verses 1-10: describe the unfaithfulness & punishment of Aholah (Samaria). Verses 11-21: the unfaithfulness of Aholibah (Jerusalem). Verses 22-35: Jerusalem's punishment. And verses 36-49: also describe the united punishment of the two sisters (Samaria & Jerusalem). I hope this brief outline will help you understand the grievousness of their sins which demands punishment and NOT to read it as some ugly lewd description of human sensuality.

Stay blessed in His Holy Name Jesus, love u in Christ. Romans 2

    Page 3.

Jesus holds to His Oneness with God because He came forth out of God, to be a Man. Why? For the sole purpose, as you read in John 3:16,17, that He was 'begotten' so that "the World through Him might be saved". He willingly gave His Life as payment for our sins, so we won't suffer eternal torment in Hell. His Sacrifice pleased His Father & all who place their trust in Jesus alone will be accepted by God, because they have accepted God's offering for their sins. There's no other way to approach Almighty God or to be saved from our sins & eternal punishment - this was the one & only Plan of God - through His 'begotten Son'.

I hope that your question has been answered Mohammad, & more importantly, that your spirit might be alerted to this wonderful Plan of Salvation that God has made & given to us, so that we might be called His children because of Jesus Christ, & one day be with Him for eternity.

Dear "Larry.B", there is a bitterness in your words. Are you bitter? You know about Romans 2 And how we Gentiles have been grafted into the original tree? Romans 11:13-24 If you do not do so then give yourself some advice. In Jesus Name we throw bitterness into the deepest abyss, where it can never come back from!

We also ask for wisdom and understanding over Your word Lord! You who are the salvation of all, we set our hope in You Lord, Amen.

ps. Remember u are not alone on the planet and web.

Even in the Bible we read the same in Luke 1:34,35: "Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." Thus the answer is learned: God gave His message through the angel; God's Spirit overshadowed Mary (or, placed within her womb) God's Holy Special Seed which was to be born into humanity; therefore, "He shall be called the Son of God". As al-Qur'an also states, 'this special Birth is humanity's sign & a revelation of God's Mercy to the world.'

You asked, the meaning of 'begotten'. I hope you can now see what it means, by God's Action: it is not a normal human-type birth, but a 'one of its kind, unique birth from God placing His special Seed into the woman. What was this special Seed? The Bible tells us, that God took His Own Word & sent it forth into the world as a human being (you can read about it in John 1:1-14). Even in Surah 3:45: "Remember when the angels proclaimed, 'O Mary! Allah gives you good news of a Word from Him, his name will be the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary; honoured in this world and the hereafter, and he will be one of those nearest to Allah." (This Word from God (kalimat'ullah: God's Word), His Name will be the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary).

Hello Mohammad. Jesus Christ was speaking here when He said in John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Also verses 17 & 18 reference the 'Son of God'.

The words 'only begotten' in the original Greek (the language used in writing the New Testament), is: 'monogenes'. It is important to quote the whole phrase ('only begotten') to understand the intent of Jesus' Speech. 'Monogenes' means, 'one and only, or one of its kind', 'unique'. Jesus always said this of Himself, even when the Jewish religious leaders challenged Him. He said, "I and my Father are one. The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God" ( John 10:30,33). The Jews knew what Jesus was saying & they rejected Him because they could only understand His Birth & Presence before them in human terms. For them, as most people, a baby born can only come from human male & female intercourse.

But in God's Terms, He can bring forth whomever & whenever He wishes - He is God. God is not man to engage with a human female, so this 'monogenes' birth must be different, special. Even al-Qur'an states, when the angel approached Maryam with the message of a 'pure son', she became confused how this could possibly happen: "She wondered, 'how can I have a son when no man has ever touched me, nor am I unchaste'? He (the angel) replied, "So will it be! Your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me. And so will We make him a sign for humanity and a mercy from Us.' It is a matter already decreed." (Surah 19:20,21).

An exhortation to praise God, and rejoice in him.

    - This song of praise should be considered as a prophecy, and even used as a prayer, for the coming of that time when all people shall know that the Lord he is God, and shall become his worshippers, and the sheep of his pasture. Great encouragement is given us, in worshipping God, to do it cheerfully. If, when we strayed like wandering sheep, he has brought us again to his fold, we have indeed abundant cause to bless his name. The matter of praise, and the motives to it, are very important. Know ye what God is in himself, and what he is to you. Know it; consider and apply it, then you will be more close and constant, more inward and serious, in his worship. The covenant of grace set down in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament, with so many rich promises, to strengthen the faith of every weak believer, makes the matter of God's praise and of his people's joys so sure, that how sad soever our spirits may be when we look to ourselves, yet we shall have reason to praise the Lord when we look to his goodness and mercy, and to what he has said in his word for our comfort.

    Hi Richard.

Thanks for posting, you make some good points, but in reading your post you seem to be stating that Paul is preaching a different gospel than Jesus. Please correct me if I am interpreting your post wrong.

I believe it is very important that we understand that Paul and Jesus preached the same Gospel. This is: The Gospel of the Kingdom.

The gospel of the kingdom is the "Good News" that can be embraced by anyone who surrenders their life to Christ and begins to follow Jesus in their daily life.

Jesus talks about the Gospel of the Kingdom throughout his ministry.

    Mark 1:15

"And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel."

Paul also taught the Gospel of the Kingdom.

    Acts 20:25

"And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more."

It is the "same gospel" yesterday, today, and tomorrow - forever!

    God Bless.

Begotten just mean bring about or give rise to, no if you mean the "only begotten" that means single of it's kind, or only member of a kin or kind. The tern is used to describe the relation of kids to their parents.

Ex. If you have natural born kids they would be your begotten kids vs adoption because you brought them about,

Ex 2 is that of Issac was the one begotten son of Abraham even though he had other natural son, Ismael and others but Issac was the only begotten is that God's covenant, was established only through Isaac, Abraham's only son by God's promise, as well as the only son of Sarah. So he was the only member of that kind.

If u want to know about how Jesus is the only begotten son I'm happy to tell u
