John 13:35, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

True Christians can not persecute true Christians; only false converts can encourage true Believers in Christ to suffer severe persecution for His names' sake. How will all men know without a shadow of a doubt, who are the real Christ followers verses the false professing ones?

The answer is stated in Matthew 7:16, "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?"

Matthew 7:18, "A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit."

Love is one of the fruits that is mentioned first in Galatians 5:22-23, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."

1John 4:20, "If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?"

True Love, God's Agape love does not persecute another child of God for doing what God says to do in His Holy Word. A person will know who is who by the fruit on a person's tree. That is how an Believer will be able to discern a true Christ followers from an affected (phony) one.

That is why in John 16:2 it says, "They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service."

When Saul before he became Paul before he had a road to Damascus experience: he was on a mission to slaughter all the Christians in certain territories, when Christ, thank God, interrupted his plans. Paul considered himself the least of the apostles because of his past persecutions against the church of God.

1Corinthians 15:9, "For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God."

But now that Saul was transformed by the Holy Spirit, he is now a new creature.

I do not believe that Jesus would turn anyone away from attending a service, in fact the Holy Spirit may have led them there in the first place, to teach them, to possibly convict them eventually, and to lead them to Christ. These things have happened. I was once told and believe it to be true that the church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints. Do not forget we are all sinners and are saved by grace.

My old pastor said church is exactly where they should me, along with Alcoholics, drug addicted people, the bum in the street, the homeless, etc for where else are they going to hear the gospel.

I myself, was lead God to a spirit filled church before i was saved. No one had lead me to Christ as is common but God himself lead me there.

I do agree they cannot hold an office or become members of the church, but they DO belong there.

    Thanks for listening.

I have always believed in the 10% tithe giving but recently saw a vidio concerning a pastor talk where he said that the title was under the law and once the Jesus fullfulled the law the 10% was also fullfulled. And that now we have what he called the "Spirit of the tithe" where we still give as we feel led to and where we feel led to.

How do you feel about that.

Also heard that God instilled the tithe BEFORE the law was given to Moses to Abrham, Lot and others... so if so wouldnt it still be in affect even though the law was fullfulled?

Act 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

The Elect along with 2 witness will prophecy (teach) of the anti-Christ when everyone else have fallen for the great deception; those who sat in pews their whole life but were never taught the truth. How do you know if you've been "chosen"??

I got "saved" in 1974. Am I really? Have I been deceived/deceiving myself the whole time?

Yes. God loves us. Jesus loves us. But God will not allow the rebellious or unrepentant person into Heaven.

I've come to the realization that I am nothing more than a poser. I am a blasphemer. I have repeatedly questioned God, "Why, why, why do you allow evil to run over us?" I have accused God of making mistakes, and being an absentee father.

When I see how the good things of God/Jesus have been perverted and destroyed, I shake my fist at the sky and say, "DO SOMETHING!" Is that faith or blasphemy?

A while back I went through a peculiar supernatural event: every day I felt as if I was standing on the edge of the Lake of Fire.

It really creeped me out. Then, every morning when I'm waking up, I have the most horrible/shameful/terrifying/wicked thoughts. I'm pretty sure the Lord is trying to tell me something but I don't know what. Am I doomed or is this just a warning?

Jesus said that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven in this world or the next. Is there a difference between willful blasphemy and blasphemy done out of ignorance? Or is blasphemy just blasphemy, period.

    Thank you, Adam,

We truly need to defend correct doctrine concerning Who and What God is as revealed in Scriptures. He is a Godhead, as you say. The Father, the Son, and Spirit are distinct Persons, yet are unified in one Being. We may not be able to fully comprehend this mystery, but we can clearly see in Scripture that this is true. You have listed multiple Scripture references as has been done repeatedly in past conversations. We must continue to do so, even if those who adhere to the "Oneness" doctrine and reject the truth of the Triune nature of the Godhead are not able to accept this truth.

The baptism of Jesus and His Transfiguration are two examples of the interactions between the Persons of the Godhead that was experienced by those with Jesus. Jesus' Last Supper Discourse in John's Gospel is another example with Jesus speaking of the Father as a separate Person than Himself yet there is a shared Oneness between them. He also promises to send the Holy Spirit, (again, a separate Person) who will come from both Himself and the Father (two separate Persons send the third Person).

Then in Matthew 28:18 Jesus says to baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. That is very plain speaking to me.

I pray that God will give understanding and faith to those who deny the triunity of the Godhead and that we will come to have one mind on this. Again, thank you for defending this truth.

I'm not sure who you think it judging you or in general but Christ Jesus never commanded us to judge souls as that's Spiritually impossible. The only one who can do so is God (eternal judgement). Then, there's judgement for disdain or dislike...Christ stated to those who judged this way to pull the mote from their own eye first before judging brethren.

Then...what should Christians be judgmental in if anything? Discernment. The born again have the Holy Spirit to help us discern what's right and wrong. If you see a Christian swearing, rebuke them and explain to them why that's wrong with the Bible. Rebuke is a form of discerning judgement. If there's apostasy in a ministry...that needs to be judged and discerned. God will judge above everything but He expects us to be vocal about it as was the apostle Paul in the below verses:

    Ephesians 4:14-16

"That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love."

To know that The Spirit of GOD dwells in us, it is His breath that we breathe in our life every second, every minute, every hour of everyday Amen. In Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul, that's us that is the same breath that we are breathing today right now as the Holy Spirit speaks, Amen. We are Royal Priest hood, we are a chosen generation, we are ambassadors for Christ Jesus you got to know who you are, and who's you are, you are Rich, not speaking of material things, we are rich in all things because of Our Heavenly Father in the Name of Jesus, you have everything to look forward too, don't look behind you, your future is before you. Pray to Our Heavenly Father to put those that is of Him around you that you will continue to grow in Him, (Iron sharpens Iron) Amen. Ephesians 5:1 Be ye (you) followers of GOD as dear children. We were created to create like our Heavenly Father we say what he say, and we do what He say do, in his word he said to walk by Faith and not by sight, when you pray believe and you shall receive, Amen. The Spirit of God talks through the reading of His word that is written in the bible. To know that you are more than a conquer, you are a Child of GOD. When you Pray in secret God will reward you openly, Amen. GOD IS LOVE, and LOVE IS GOD.

Brother adam: do not be offended.

i am not denying the divinity of christ.

the problem is you, and others, believe one scripture but then don't believe another scripture.

you believe: john 10:30 the father and i are one. divinity

you don't believe: john 17:21 that you and christ become one. divinity

you quote these scriptures, but you don't believe them

you don't believe: philippians 2:6 let this mind be in you, christ in the form of god thought it not robbery to be equal to god. divinity

you don't believe:: genesis 1:26 you were made in the image of god. divinity

you don't believe: 2 corinthians 5:19 to wit, that god was in christ (a body, a man)(and yes this make christ divine, reconciling the world to himself .......all will be divinity

you don't believe: matthew 28:19 ...baptising them in the father, son, and holy ghost.... this baptism make you: one with them, now there is no longer three, a trinity.

you don't believe: 1 corinthians 15:28 .....and god will be all in all. everyone divinity; not three.

your right we as brothers are to come together and rightly divide the word of god: truth vs falsehoods.

to repent has more to do with teachings than sins of the flesh.

as we come to truth, we repent, of our beliefs hundreds of times, of the falsehoods that have invaded the true gospel.

    it's war: flesh vs divinity.

    god bless you!

Hebrew days were from sunset to sunset'; the 24 hours were divided into 12 hours of the night (reckoned from sunset); and 12 hours in the day (reckoned from sunrise. See John 11:9) Hence the 6th hour of John 19:14 was our midnight; the 3rd hour of Mark 15:25 was our 9AM; the 6th hour of Mathew 27:45; Mark 15:33, Luke 23:44, Acts 10:9, was our noon; the ninth hour of Mathew 27:45,46; Mark 15:33,34; Luke 23:44, was our 3PM

Expression a night and a day equals a 24 hour day ( 2 Corinthians 11:25) denotes a complete day (Gr. nuchthemeron)

Who has made himself ,what the Lord wants and expects?

It is impossible to know His will for us unless we make ourselves available!

Much like the stone mason , who has an image of what too build, yet He will never know the image until He starts to lay the stone.

The stone is heavy, it is in no certain size, or shape, it is difficult to begin his work, for it is so uncertain!

The final outcome is unknown, yet he looks at each piece as it lays before him.

There are some pieces that will need to be reshaped, and now he begins to see what will take shape!

His hands are sore, his back is weak, His spirit however overcomes it all , as what will become His work will forever be seen!

This is, you see , His work.

This stone He lays with His hands is guided by the unseen!

If only you could see the unseen, than you too would become His workmanship!

    Repent and be Baptized

Quit yourselves like men doesn't mean act macho and be ready to fight; that's why "be strong/courageous/etc. is specified ALONGSIDE it. Sometimes the wise and most courageous thing a man can do is stand down and avoid conflict. God calls on us to be humble and gentle as well. Maybe "quit ye like men" simply means "Act like men/humans/civilized", etc. Because it warlording were in every man's inherent nature, then those other traits wouldn't have needed to be clarified.
  • Adam - In Reply - 3 years ago
The Bible literally refers to God as Godhead, so the few who are uncomfortable with that term can simply use the word Godhead instead. There's a mountain of scriptures showing the dynamic and divinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. We're here to defend Jesus Christ and anyone trying to discredit or smear His divinity. We should all pray for wisdom, understanding and truth as we read the scriptures so that we are not mislead by the enemy and buy into things that merely fulfill our itching ears.

Consider Jesus' witness/testimony about the words he speaks:

"...if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. John 12:47-50

"...the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me..." John 14:10

Consider Jesus' prophesy about how the Holy Ghost will instruct true believers:

"...when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." John 16:13

When it comes to the disposition of my eternal soul, I'm not interested in opinions expressed in a collection of questionable epistles or the sermons of human pastors; I'm only interested in the unleavened Word of God that came out of Jesus' mouth or the Holy Ghost who is available to those who keep his commandments.

I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist."

1 Corinthians 7:25-28. It's true that this advice wasn't received from the Lord, but Paul gives this instruction to the believers (married & unmarried) in response to the "present distress" (some read it as an 'impending time of suffering'). I don't see anything wrong with an apostle giving advice concerning a situation that the Church is in, or maybe, facing, that hasn't first come from the Lord. He has every right to do so, just as the preacher today shares not only from the Word, but also his personal impressions & encouragements or warnings about events (good or bad) happening around them. This is not Paul's doctrine - it's his teaching, advice for the times they were in. And the believers could have disregarded this advice if they wished, without it being a sin; but the consequences were before them.

In Acts 15:5-30, these were apparently a particular sect of the Pharisees & they believed in Jesus Christ. However, as with the problem with Peter (Galatians chapter 2), here too these men couldn't understand nor accept that Gentiles were not bound by the old Law & of circumcision. Therefore, the determination made by the apostles & elders remained faithful to the Law of the New Covenant in Christ. These believing Pharisees needed to be taught, as also in regards to Peter.

With Acts 5:27-29 & Romans 13:1-7, we see two entirely different scenarios. The first, when the 'powers that be' oppose Christianity & the preaching of the Gospel, and the second, when citizens are required to follow governmental laws for the good of the country. If one should believe that we should not obey the govt that opposes the Gospel, then that belief needs to be effected in other instances, such as refusal to pay taxes, abide by road rules, etc. I doubt if there would be many that would put into practise such an thought.

We should not pick & choose verses to support a belief, rather understand the whole counsel of God given in His Word & yes, even holding onto apostolic teaching.

Very true. We all need to be exercised, no longer focussed on the body, but more importantly, the spirit.

Galatians 5:24,25: "And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." And 'walking in the Spirit' doesn't mean we also hold hands with the world, still praising the Lord.
  • John anonymous - In Reply - 3 years ago
Jesus warns his disciples to beware of leaven (false doctrine) that will be added to the unleavened bread that comes down from heaven (even the very Word of God). 1st Corinthians 7:25 is a prime example of the introduction of doctrine that did not come from the Lord. The author(s) even tells you they didn't get it from the Lord. Consider what Jesus instructs us all in John 7:16-18 "My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him." Therefore, if anyone introduces their own doctrine, unrighteousness is in them.

In Acts 15 the Pharisees proposed doctrine that was in opposition of the Holy Ghost. The Apostles recognized it and rejected the Pharisee's doctrine as leaven. It did not come from God, it came from their heart. What's in a person's heart is what comes out of their mouth. By thy words shalt thou be justified and by thy words shalt thou be condemned.

Romans also introduces false doctrine when they suggest that the "powers that be" are ordained of God and should be obeyed. The Apostles taught no such thing. In fact they taught the opposite. The "powers that be" said to them: "Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine [...] Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men." ( Acts 5:28-29).
