What does Paul mean in Galatians 3:19 when he says the law was given by angels to Moses, when we read in Exodus that God gave Moses the 10 commandments? Is there not a contradiction as God spoke to Moses but Paul says the law was given by angels to Moses, the mediator?

    Billy,

I am sorry for your loss of your grandson. I concur with Mishael. God is a righteous judge and we can trust Him to judge rightly in every person's case. So I pray that your heart will be at peace on this matter, though you miss him.

Jesus is powerful enough to make exceptions to whomever He wants, but He didn't say all thieves on crosses from now on will instantly go to heaven, or all criminals will go to heaven instantly upon death, or everyone death row will automatically go to heaven, or all Christians will go to heaven, or that all people will go to heaven instantly upon death. No, He only said to the one person next to Him that he's be in "paradise." The other thief didn't receive this.

Secondly, paradise could be a different place than heaven. Some think it may be a place for souls to wait until Jesus's return and judgment then salvation. That would make more logical sense, because Jesus said the dead will rise at that time to meet Jesus in the air then be judged. It doesn't make sense for anyone to skip judgment and go to heaven when they haven't even been judged yet, only to go back to earth in their body and repeat the process. The Bible says "all will be judged" on a particular day.

I personally believe what the Bible says in these verses:

    Daniel 12:2, Job 14:12, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Corinthians 15:18-20, Matthew 9:24.

It was only Mark that Jesus spoke this to, so no one else of his disciples would have witnessed this.

    Well, all glory to God!

What I should have added is that I have 'done my own will', and I confess that to my shame, horror, and sorrow. That the Lord should save a wretch like me, and then, subsequent to that - be patient with my faults and stumbles is simply just Amazing Grace, for which I praise and thank Him! Glory to Jesus, our Mighty-to-Save-to-the-Uttermost Savior!

Doing my own will NEVER turns out pretty. It's the most human thing in the world to have 'pre-conceived ideas' about how 'our will' will turn out; we deceive ourselves by fancying how much we know, and how great our 'best laid plans are"; but more often than not, things surely to not turn out as we want; the Sovereign Lord will "break our ships at Eziongeber" as He broke up Jehoshaphat's best-laid plans ( 1 Kings 22:48).

I have started to read a book written by Thomas Boston, a minister who lived in the late 1600 to early 1700s. The name of the book is called, "A Crook in the Lot'. By 'crook' the author does not mean 'a thief', but those 'crooked turns' the Lord puts in our way, i.e., in our "lot' that He appoints for us. So far what I've read is very good, and perhaps you would enjoy it too, since it seems to deal with this subject.

In any case, I've been very blessed by your observations that the Lord has given you to share with the rest of us!

    Blessings!

Alex ! Your words ( even though I know they are not exactly yours ) went straight to my heart today and I realised something . I am defo a bit dumb ! I realised what it means when Christ tells the thief that's crucified next to him , "To day shalt thou be with me in paradise " 1st Thessalonians Ch 4 V 13-18 . Christ was not in paradise that day but , the next thing that the thief shall be aware of is his own resurrection and entry into the Kingdom of God , Phillipians Ch 3 V 20+21 .

So Jesus recommends usury? Considering that he drove the money lenders from The Temple with knotted cords I consider this to be Apocryphal.

GOD is judge and no one but GOD knows what's in someone's heart at the moment of death. Some GOD takes from this earth because they are too good for it. Others HE blinds so that their soul will be saved ( Romans 11:8). Today's churches have become a den of thieves. Just because he never enters a church could be a good thing for GOD tells us in the end times not even to seek HIM in Bethel (meaning Gods house) for HE will not be there Amos 5:5; Amos 5:6. God saying don't seek the church but seek him, his houses of worship are not teaching his word; all they do is pass a collection plate to hear motivation speeches not the Word of God, not worth going to those type places. Don't get me wrong there are a very few out there that teach true Christianity and great if you find one that teaches verse by verse, chapter by chapter. But I haven't found but 1. Most today have become cults! And will lead their flock to deception, so I say just because he never entered church means nothing.

Main reason being it was written in old English no one today would know how to read Old English:

The Authorized Version, as it came to be called, went through several editions and revisions. Two notable editions were that of 1629, the first ever printed at Cambridge, and that of 1638, also at Cambridge, which was assisted by John Bois and Samuel Ward, two of the original translators. In 1657, the Parliament considered another revision, but it came to naught. The most important editions were those of the 1762 Cambridge revision by Thomas Paris, and the 1769 Oxford revision by Benjamin Blayney. One of the earliest concordances was A Concordance to the Bible of the Last Translation, by John Down-ham, affixed to a printing of 1632. So much emphasis is put on our canonized bible of today of its validity, if it is truly inspired by God. I would start off by saying that the human with all their technological advancements in no way could instill the wisdom that our scripture produces. Prophecies have become true before our eyes, one only has to look at Psalms 22 that was written close to a 1K years before the crucifixion of Christ and is practically written word for word what happen to him; all the way down to Christ in his dying breathe, preached that scripture. The Bible KJV is made up of 66 books, 39 in Old Testament and 27 in the New. The old is divided into 3 parts. (1) The first five books of Moses or Pentateuch the law books (2) Which include the Prophets major and minor prophetic writings in which all have come true up until the time we are now in, closing on the 6th Seal (3) Writings - wisdom. The new Testament also divided into 3 segment's (1) The Gospels in which hire critics say contradict themselves which is ignorance of the Word (2) The churches the beginning of Christianity (3) Apostolic writings. The Bible written by 40 (meaning probation) authors over a period of 1500 years to surpass time itself and only revealed to man when appropriate.

Hi Billy , you don't give many details about your grandson , personally I don't believe that very young children are saved . I lost three babies when I was a young woman , they never saw the light of day . I decided then not to try again , it's a very comforting thought to believe that they are with Christ now but there is no evidence in the Bible that speaks very definately on this subject . So no I don't think so but I would not be sad to find out that I am wrong about this . One thing you can know for sure is that your grandson is at peace , God is love Billy , and He loves us all very much .

    Billy:

1 Timothy 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the SAVIOUR OF ALL MEN, specially those that believe.

1 John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that God sent his Son to be SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD.

Christ CANNOT be saviour of the world: without SAVING THE WORLD.

Acts 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in RIGHTEOUSNESS by that man who he hath ordained; whereof he hath GIVEN ASSURANCE unto ALL MEN, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Isaiah 26:9 ...when thy judgements (second resurrection) are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world (those raised back into their flesh at the second resurrection) WILL LEARN RIGHTEOUSNESS.

    God Bless You!

We all have to go thru the lake of fire,...Jesus said every sinner will have their part in the lake of fire but its a cleasing fire for our old adamic nature that is in rank with satan....Jesus plainly tells us i come to bring fire on the earth which is his baptism of fire and the H.G....His judgement is his love for us...And absolutely nothing can separtate us from the love of God.

.....Who shall abide the day of his coming, Who shall stand when he appears for he shall shall be as a REFINERS FIRE AND FULLERS SOAP... Mal. 3 : 2 kjv ....Jesus tells us i come to bring fire on the earth...Which is a spritual Fire for our old adamic nature...Which is baptism of the H.G. and Fire...But this is his love for us.

....Our God is a consuming fire that is gonna consume our old adamic nature....Jesus cd not tell us he came to save mens lives and then not save everyone by his BLOOD....Only our old adamic nature is gona be lost but he is in rank with satan.

..... Romans 8 : 32 Absolutely nothin can separate us from the love of God....Not even DEATH

....Even in the O.T. it was only the forskin that was cast into the fire...Not the whole man...If thy right hand offend thee cut it off....Our right hand is our old adamic nature that is in rank with satan.

....Ya gotta reaize OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE...But his fire is also his love for us...We chastise our children simply b/c we love them.

....God is not a respector of persons, we all need his blood washing no body is exempt...Thus everybody has to go thru his lake of fire...God told Jeremiah that he wd put his words in Jeremiah's mouth and his words wd be as a FIRE TO CONSUME the ppl. Jeremiah 5 : 14....That COMSUMING FIRE IS SIMPLY HIS WORDS....The living words of God....ok GBU...God so loved the world

Hello Melissa. There were only twelve disciples. After Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus & then later committed suicide, the eleven disciples came together to appoint another man to replace Judas. And this new (12th) disciple was called Matthias. You can read about it in Acts 1:15-26. These men were now known as apostles (i.e. after the death & resurrection of their Master) and Saul (also known as Paul) was later numbered with them as a servant & an apostle of Jesus Christ ( Romans 1:1).

Hi K. I understand that Paul's salutation (or, greetings) is found in Romans 1:1-7. What you're referencing ( Romans 15:14 to 16:27) includes Paul's personal messages & finally his benediction; the actual benediction being Romans 16:25-27).

The main difference I notice, is the Apocrypha: that has the original books during the KJV 1611, not included in our US KJV versions.

Hi Wilfred. The one that immediately comes to mind is actually in Romans 1:24,25. Though, if you're thinking Isaiah, then possibly Isaiah 5:20 & also 2 Thessalonians 2:10,11; but these do not comply exactly to what you're seeking. Maybe others can find another verse.

I feel there is a significant detail that is possibly a detail that the LORD wants to show you. You may want to independent research about lions. I would be interested in what you find relating to what the LORD shows you!

    Psalms 91, lions Psalms 91:13,

1st I must thank you, Thanks for bringing me back to this Psalms it's Powerful & encouraging!

Hear are more scriptures on lions within the scripture. Several of GOD's people were delivered from lions.

I understand it to mean, any lion just incase we question "what about a young one". Here's a scripture about "._._.an old lion, who shall rouse him up?' Genesis 49:9,

    Young lion : Numbers 23:24,

these also mention a difference between: Job 4:8-21, Job 28:8, Job 38:39, Psalms 17:12, Isaiah 30:6, Isaiah 31:4,

    Ezekiel 19:3, Amos 3:4, Micah 5:8,

    Victory from lions : Judges 14, 1Samuel 17:34,36, 2Timothy 4:17, Daniel 6,

But also used against a Prophet that disobeyed GOD's specific orders : 1Kings 13,

    Hopefully these are helpful

    Billy,

You have been given some false hope that everyone will be saved in the end. The bible never says that everyone will be saved in the end. In fact, the bible says that in the end, at the Great White Throne Judgement, many will be cast into the lake of fire for eternity.

Now, concerning your grandson, my heart breaks for you. I am a grandfather myself and I can't even begin to imagine the feeling of losing a grandchild. I don't think there is a way to answer your question with 100% surety.

I think there are some factors in play here, age and mental capacity would be a couple of factors. Going to church is not a deciding factor on who goes to heaven and who does not. I don't think God cares how often we go to church, or if we even go at all. I think what cares about is our hearts response to Him.

Maybe your grandson was too young to comprehend God or comprehend the gospel message of salvation. If that's the case, then I would like to believe that God, being a just God, would take that into consideration, and I would like to believe that your grandson is with Him in heaven now, but I just can't tell you that for sure. I don't think any of us here can. I pray that the Lord will bring you comfort from the loss of your grandson.
  • God's will or man's free will (Reply to Richard H Priday) - In Reply - 3 years ago
Richard H Priday: I agree, looking at Christ Himself would be a great example. Jesus said that He came not to do His own will, but the will of His father who sent Him. Did Jesus have a "free will?" Could He have chosen to disobey His father? The answer to that would be no. Disobedience would have been considered sinful and it was impossible for Jesus to sin.

Before I get off track here, I just want to say that you make some great points. I can talk about the very same things you said but let it just suffice to say that I agree with everything you just said. Thank you!
  • God's will or man's free will (Reply to T Levis) - In Reply - 3 years ago
T Levis: The reason I ask is to see how others might describe "free will" and how it stands up to God's will. Thank you for sharing all these OT verses. There are many instances in the OT where we see God's will and people going against His will, and the consequences for doing so. So my point is that I believe in the end, God's will always prevails, even over our "free will." Thank you for your time and thoughts!
