Of course no one knows; surely it could have been ANY type of red fruit.

If we take a closer look at the fruit for the healing of the nations ( Rev 22:2); we see fruit that seems to come out every month.

From a purely scientific viewpoint; that which would be the combination of attributes of all generations which is the ancestral species would likely have the most number of nutrients; and of course the original tree of life which was restricted immediately after the fall likely was of a substance which would allow for eternal life with the original pure composition.

One could look at this tree in some ways as bringing eternal death; much in the same way but opposite of the tree of life.

Clearly the restriction from that tree allowed Adam not to have to live forever in his original fallen state and allowed for the promise of Christ and the 2nd Adam; as it were to be the future of all believers. Whether Adam made it or not isn't clear from scripture; as no mention of him is in Hebrews 11; for example.

So as to what it was is a mystery. Somehow; it allowed for the initial deterioration of human DNA and death to not only affect man but also the whole creation and for perhaps the moon and stars to become impure in His sight. There certainly is a physical component even to Hades; and certainly to hell.

It really is too awful to think about for any length of time. If Adam did make it to heaven; he will have the conscience that because of him and Eve all saints have had to suffer greatly. What a legacy. Thank God that there is something stronger; and the enemy no longer has power over the death of man restricting him from heaven (to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord now; Hallelujiah.) God may create circumstances and entities that turn evil; as well as understand good and evil; but must judge all iniquity with His wrath. Only Christ could become the curse for us hanging on the tree; much like the serpent on the pole in Numbers.

Not sure if you are saying can they be bothered IF you are going through spiritual warfare; or if anyone wishes to give wise counsel on the subject.

As to help; of course you need to be in a place where you repent of known sin and are truly seeking to walk in the Spirit; not just to avoid the consequences of your actions as the enemy is allowed to mess with you perhaps accusing you of areas which you have not placed under the blood; as it were trusting God for deliverance. If you are at that point; it is good to trust God to bring those who are Spirit filled and discerning to bring deliverance when needed. Fellowship at any true church if not part of your life should be sought out. Don't worry so much in trying to find someone who is on the outside appearing to be more "Charismatic" as it were. There are servants equipped to come to your aid; an in fact may themselves be in need to pray for you to be strengthened in the Spirit. When we help others in the Body of Christ it truly helps us; as no matter how weak we may be in the flesh; the Spirit has an endless amount of resources available. Also be careful who NOT to associate with or even pray with; should they have a demonic spirit or not give Godly counsel. The Lord will speak to you on those issues.

There rarely exists spiritual warfare alone without extenuating emotional; abuse; or other conditions affecting the mind; body and soul. A big part of achieving freedom is having the fear of death removed; no one can touch you unless God allows it. There are times; of course when people need to step in; obviously this goes beyond the bounds of how I can help you here.

I will keep you in prayer for now; if there is anything specific I suppose you can write a response for targeted prayer again; within parameters allowed here.

Lastly; set forth time and effort to help set OTHERS free. Don't assume your brokenness renders you ineffective; surely the enemy doesn't want you to minister to others.

The Apocrypha (book is out on the red LINK page, along with 66 approved books of the KJV Bible.

The Apocrypha consists of giants and THE CHALDEANS.

It has no bearing on the story of Jesus Christ. The SUBJECT of the Bible is about JESUS CHRIST. It is Jesus's story alone, all by itself; from Genesis to Revelation.

I compliment you on the eloquence and clearity of your replys. You have the patience and willingness to express your point and back it up with scriptures.

I Peter 3:15. But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meakness and fear.

Sometimes I feel like I am ready to enter into these discussions but find that I don't readily support my conversation with references.

I've been a Christian most of my life but have not always lived as I should. Only in the last few years have I began to seek out what is in the Bible for me to learn. I've been in church and have it it all but never put the knowledge to practice.

I trust that I can look more closely and understand and finally give a more clear answer for what I have read and believe.

    Thank you and God bless.

Hi , here are some verses that might help to clarify what I said earlier about how we are connected to Melchizedek via David and Jesus . As I said before , the connections are that none of us are Levites , the bread and wine and being kings and priests : Genesis Ch 14 V 18-20 , 1st Chronicles Ch 15 V 27 and Ch 16 V 1-3 . Also Matth Ch 26 V 26-28 ,Heb Ch 4 V 14+15 and Ch 5 V 1-10 . All of Heb Ch 7 , Rev Ch 1 V 6 and Ch 3 V 4 , Ch 17 V 14 , Ch 19 V 11-16 and finally John Ch 6 V 33-63 . I hope these scriptures explain what I was getting at in a much better way than I ever could , much love in Christ .

    Hi.

    Isaiah 14:13-14.

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I WILL BE LIKE THE MOST HIGH.

Thank you, S. Spencer, the "new" doctrines you mentioned that are being touted by so many in today's churches and among believers all deviate from Scriptural and commonly held doctrines among churches and believers in past centuries.

But most of these 'new" doctrines are not really new, they are recycled ideas that have been repeatedly denounced in the church since the time of the Apostles and early church. Yet many people are sucked into these because they have been taught (either by self or teachers) to interpret Scriptures allegorically or spiritualizing straightforward accounts or taking verses out of context and the counsel of the whole Scripture teachings. Many people who hold to some of these ideas are hyper-focused on just a few Scripture they use to "prove" their thinking while ignoring so many other Scriptural teachings.

Whereas none of us has perfect doctrine, it still is important to speak out on biblical truths that are really essential to a true Christian faith. Thank you for being a defender of the FAith.

    Hi Maria,

I'm not aware of anywhere in the Bible addressing your question. I personally believe the answer is no that whatever spiritual things you're experience is specific to you. If you are experiencing spiritual warfare I would choose deliberately the side you want to be on and be prepared. Ephesians 6:17 and around this chapter talks about how to prepare and defend yourself from such battles. Basically dedicating yourself to following Christ, read the Bible regularly, pray, and seek fellowship with other believers is a way to strengthen your faith. Some believe in generational curses and we do live with consequences of curses from Adam and Eve, such as hard work, labor pain, etc. Hope this is helpful in some way.

Hello, Diane, the Scriptures in Genesis 3 state that Adam fathered Cain.

Many people nowadays are perpetuate the "serpent seed" false doctrine that Satan fathered Cain. But to do this, one has to read more into the text than is intended.

Adam knew Eve and she conceived and brought forth as son, Cain. Simple cause and effect. Been happening this way since the dawn of man.

Marke, there are a lot of different directions I can go with this, but, I am going to keep this rather short and simple. If predestination was the intended by God, then that would make Him a "respecter of persons" ( Rom. 2:11), which he is not. Christ came to save the entire world from sin ( John 3:17). Jesus even said what whosoever believes on him would be saved ( John 3:15-16). That is anyone. We also see in the Greek that this believe is present and on-going faith. Not a 1x event that secures the believer and preserves them.

When God is speaking about foreknowledge and predestination He is not speaking of individual salvation, but, His plan of salvation. For example, in Romans 9 when talking about Jacob and Esau he is not talking about God loving Jacob the person and hating Esau the person. He is talking about the 2 nations, Israel and the Edomites. He knew from the foundation of the world that there would be a fall and mankind would need a Savior, as he is Omniscient.

So, God does not predestine some to Heaven, while overlooking others so they can go to hell. God hates all sin and wants all to repent and come to His Son for salvation. It is His will that ALL be saved ( 1 Tim. 2:4). However, we must accept receive this gift and allow with Holy Spirit to work in our hearts. remaining faithful is not one trying to "keep themselves saved". It is responding to the gift of the Holy Spirit written on their hearts.
  • WHAT HAPPENED IN GENESIS 3 verse 15 - In Reply - 3 years ago
GENESIS 3:15 is being used by satanic cults to publish all over, that Eve had sex with Satan, and that Cain was Satans offspring.

You can Google it. "Is Lucifer Cains father"

All of the CULTS that are teaching this abomination will pop up.

If you actually believe THAT is the truth, you're salvation is false, and you are not saved. But you can be saved__if you renounce what you heard and believed.

Eves 3rd child was Seth. Through his bloodline, the Savior of the World would be born__JESUS.

Jesus is WHO IN Genesis 3:15, would stump Satans Head and rip away any authority Satan HAD stolen from Adam and Eve.

Adam and Eve never cheated on each other. God protect all of their seed (children).

ALSO, scripture says that LUCIFER/SATAN IS A CREATED BEING. Isaiah 14. He is unable to create children.

He is an EX-archangel. His future will be lived in hell, and then the Lake of Fire permanently.

    His big weapon is DECEPTION.

He's not a god. If he was he would have prevented Jesus dying on the Cross for the sins of all mankind. When Jesus was resurrected, and walked out of the Tomb,

Every demon and Satan knew their end would be the Lske of Fire.

THE LINK OUT ON THE RED entry page of this website will help you to become a Believer in the TRUTH.

You've heard the Truth; now it's up to you to choose.

Very well said Doug! Context matters even in the Greek. And I don't think the KJV writers got it wrong when with all the if/then conditional verses. Salvation is contingent on remaining faithful to the end! God has made it clear we have a choice. His spirit is there to guide us and help us grow but the bible doesnt say anything about us never being able to resist it. Matter of fact we warned not to quench it. As Rev. 2: 10 says, be faithful until death and receive the crown of life. Can't be any more clear than that! If salvation was unconditional it we would see it in the bible and dont think I need to go looking in the Greek to see what God is saying in plain English.

    Hi Dianne.

    It says who plainly!

And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. Genesis 4:1.

Why do you ask in that way?

"Who ( REALLY ) fathered Cain."

Is there anything reason we shouldn't trust what's written?

If we can't trust what's written so plainly the question is why don't I believe the Bible.

Jesus often referred to "What is written'.

    God bless.

Why is Ecclesiasticus in some KJVs?
  • Doug - In Reply on Romans 8 - 3 years ago
You said "Just curious to know if you are faithful to Christ, and if so, what causes you to be faithful?" and the answer is clearly the Holy Spirit. However, we need to look deeper into scripture and what the exact function of the Holy Spirit is and what our obligation is in our relationship with Christ for final salvation.

Before salvation, the Holy Spirit of God works and draws us to the Father and to accept His Son's sacrifice for salvation. However, we have a free will and can resist this. Since it is the will of the Father that all be saved, but know that many won't because they will reject Christ, we must conclude that there is a free choice on the part of the one who the Holy Spirit is working on and drawing to Christ. We even is in John 3:16 "whosoever believeth" is a reference to anyone. It is not the "elect" as John Calvin taught.

We see that once one receives the Holy Spirit they must continue believing. We see in John 3:16 that "believeth" is present continual. If salvation was a 1 time event then "believeth" would be in the "Aorist". Yet, every time we see believeth it's in the continuous tense.

Just as the Holy Spirit draws us to the God, we make the choice to receive it. This is not forced on us. From there, God works in the us to do His will and good pleasure. So, remaining faithful is NOT a "work" but a response to the grace of God working in our hearts. However, scripture is clear that we must endure in faith to receive the inheritance of eternal life. Notice John 10:29 says "they", not "he". This is a blessing for believers as a whole. The individual still has to endure in in the Christ's body.

John 15 illustrates what I'm talking about. V. 5 says if a man abide not (aorist) he is cut off. It's the exact moment of leaving the protective hand of God ( John 10:29) he is cut off. However the one that abideth (present continual) remains in Christ and in the Father ( 1 Jn 2:24-25).

There's a free moral will that God gave all mankind and the same to Adam & Eve in the garden. The forbidden fruit was that of type never specified and they had the will to resist the temptation but fell. Although there are many Spiritual only definition in the Bible, the fruit does represent that it was physical. In both secular and early roman (catholic) literature -- the writings came about the forbidden fruit being an apple. The Holy Bible never says it was an apple and many say "well, it was a fig because in Adam & Eve's shame they covered themselves in fig leaves." Regardless, the Bible never asserts it was a fig either. It's not what God wanted us to know. He wanted us to know that He gave us everything and for the one thing which is forbidden; Adam & Eve ate of this one thing God forbade thus brining sin & death into the world.

But, Jesus Christ came, shed His innocent Blood on the Cross for us, rose from the grave and ascended giving us His Holy Ghost. Sin and death are still in the world but live and eternity are still in Christ Jesus. Amen!

    John Chapter 3

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

    Goodmorning.

When we study the word of God we see that from Genesis to Revelation the Boos is all about Jesus, Redemption/Salvation ministered by grace. Your strength is Christ!

Fruit of the spirit, "THE gift by the spirit. "Christ" is given to us by GRACE. Even your sanctification is not of yourselves.

The bible says it clearly that all wont be saved and there is a literal place of torment for those who reject Christ and THIS NARROW GATE!

    Matthew 7:13-14.

    HERE'S WHAT'S COMMONLY ATTACKED. "Just a few"

    GRACE.

Some preach we're saved by works of the Law. " Which means there's no GRACE.

    Christ deity.

This is attacked more than one way.

First of all We know how the trinity is being attacked. There's also those who claim we are going to be Gods.

Therefore there's no such thing as deity if ALL will be saved and we will be equal to God... ( Isn't that us how Satan fell? ) What's often misquoted about Satan is we often say Satan wanted to be God. But it says he wanted to be "LIKE" the most high.

Same type of pride we see here in this frame of mind.

    The word.

How often do you see someone either doubt what is written or say the scripture has been tampered with? Some claim to have revelation that exceed the written word.

    The Holyspirit.

The work of the Holyspirit and the fruit of the Holyspirit is what seems to be of no Interest in the Church today. Today we hear so often "He or She is full of the Holyspirit.' when observing an outward action. We need to have clearer understanding of the ministry of the Holyspirit.

Man can't manifest the Spirit through practice or mimicking some way of righteousness. This is what was to be shown through Israel and is what Paul is hammering away at in Galatians.

More to come, Hopefully with the Help of others.

    God bless.

Jesse, the bible teaches we do. It is called free will. If OSAS was true then the rendering of scripture would be completely different. Yet, there are way too many if/then conditional statements directly related to salvation to think that we somehow become robots. Yes, God is powerful and sovereign enough, but, that is not how he has set up his plan of salvation. We must abide in Christ to receive the promise of eternal life. That is God's plan. You seem to be making a straw man argument.

We are kept by the power of God through a continual enduring faith. If we are automatically secure and could not remove ourselves from God's hand, as John 28-29 highlights, then where is the bible verse saying so? Because I see in verse 27 that it is only those who are following Christ are secure in the Fathers hand.

And just as I responded to the holy spirit working in me to receive Christ as salvation, I need to remain in Christ. 1 John 5:13 tells us we can have assurance of salvation. However, if the one who does not remain in Christ was "never saved" to begin with, then no one can ever have peace and assurance because no one can read into the future.

The bible seems pretty transparent that we are saved by faith, are continuing to be saved and safe in the hand of God by faith, and will have final salvation if we endure to the end.

I read your commentary on Matt. 24:13 and the word "shall" denotes a future occurrence of salvation, not past. You are right that it is in the Aorist principle. Aorist can also be future tense and if it was past tense wouldn't Matt 24:13 have read "all who have believed will ensure to the end"? But it doesn't.

Thank you for your reply, but, I don't see the sense in going back and forth on this. I have read the other posts from everyone and Erich/Doug really did a great job using scripture to support conditional salvation with clarity.
