    Thanks, Steven,

I am glad you explained this. I have always believed that God's promises to Abraham are for all time. I believe that I should always want the best for all people, period. God has His reasons for setting Israel apart for Him for all time. I just trust His plan.

    True David.

For me, I try to always remember that Jesus promised that God does hear the prayers of believers and answers. And I always try to remember that He is sovereign and will always do what is in accord with His will and purpose. Also, I try to always remember to trust Him with the answers He gives, for he is faithful and just. He loves us and is willing to answer our prayers from His goodness and grace, freely given to us.

I see Jesus as Gods answer to everything you could image , no problem for me.

Jesus said ask of me and I will do it . He is at the right hand of the Father and been given all power and authority by The Father .

Im satisfied and so should anyone be . Jew or Gentile . Have a blessed day ...

    Amen Free.

I will have much more to say on this.

As we know there is heresies formed around this topic that depicts God as one unable to fulfill his promises.

God displayed his faithfulness with this rebellious Nation. You can see Jacob in all of us.

The story of Israel is about God's faithfulness not their failures.

He carries them on eagles wings the same way he Sheppards his Church with his staff.

It would do well for one to know the nature of sheep, and if you are his sheep you will see you parallel with Jacob so as Paul said be not high minded.

    Romans 11:20-21.

If the first fruit be Holy so is the lump.

For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?

For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

    Romans 11:16-17.

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

    Romans 11:25-26.

    THE OUTLINE IS SEEN HERE:

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

    Romans 11:29-33.

    More to come

    God bless.

    Barbara,

You might be looking for Psalms 114:3. The King James says the Jordan (River) was driven back. There are multiple English translations that say, "the Jordan turned back." What is interesting is that the Contemporary English Version says, "the Jordan river flowed upstream." The International Standard Version (ISV) says "the Jordan River ran backwards.

I have a question for you AlexN , God made many promises to Abraham , and his seed , and Israel , in the OT that is considered passed away( or almost ), according to the Book of Hebrews .Chapter 9 is very interesting , how Jesus Christ completed the OT in his blood , rather than the blood of animals that was incomplete and needed to be repeated , but Christ once for all ....

Here is my question to you and anyone for that matter . IS GOD WISE ENOUGH TO FULFIL ALL PROMISES WITH THE NEW COVANT ? ( NT ) I have not researched this but seems to me the New Testament does and goes even much further ...

    What say you? Thanks

Sister Suze, we are the body, Christ, the Word, is the LIFE in US, the body.

Christ said when you need a word to speak or a scripture to quote it will come to your mind, because THE WORD is the LIFE of the Body (YOU).

    PROPHECY:

Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my SPIRIT within you, and CAUSE you (the body) to walk in my statutes, and keep my judgements, and DO THEM.

    FULFILLED at pentecost:

Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD (the life) that WORKETH IN YOU both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.

Your (the body) lips move because the life (Christ in You) CAUSES them to move.

Job 23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandments of HIS LIPS (you are ONE with Christ)(LIFE is Christ and BODY is You).

Job 27:4 My (yours and Christ) LIPS shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.

Job 2:10 ...in all this Job did not sin with his lips.

Psalms 12:4 Who (one with no knowledge of truth) have said, With our tongue we will prevail, our lips are our own: who is Lord over us.

We were PREDESTINATED to be the IMAGE OF CHRIST.

John 5:30 I can of myself do nothing ...

Christ is the BODY that holds the LIFE of the FATHER.

John 15:5 .....for without me you can do nothing ....

WE are the BODY that holds the LIFE of Christ.

John 17:22 And the glory that thou gavest me I have given them, that they MAY BE ONE, even as WE ARE ONE.

Is it not mind boggling to walk in TRUTH.

    God Bless YOU!

As far as being 'worthy to escape' - that doesn't necessarily mean 'escaping' out of this world. Some commentators say this verse refers to the believing Jews who escaped the destruction of Jerusalem. They heeded Christ's warning, and when they saw the armies of Rome amassing, they high-tailed it out of the area!

    Other examples of 'escape' -

The three Hebrew children 'escaped' - AFTER being thrown in the fire! Their being kept IN the fire WAS their 'escape'.

Noah 'escaped' the flood...but he endured a lot while building the ark and weathering the storm!

Peter 'escaped' Herod by an angel on time - but had to survive being arrested, just the same.

We have been, are, and will yet be kept from many harms...but other tribulations appointed by God, we must endure, knowing that IN them and THROUGH them, by God's power, we 'escape' danger to our souls.

We so want physical escape; we so want to be spared troubles. That's natural!! No one wants them! Yet, Jesus said that the tribulation will try EVERY person!! Peter told us about the 'trying of our faith', and not to be amazed at 'FIERY trials'. These are the very things that prove if we have true, saving faith, and if we have it - these purify it! In a way, it's a blessing to be tested here, and have our faith tried, so that we ourselves have the confidence that it is real and true and of God!

None of us in the US have been in TRULY fiery trials. HARD ones, to be sure, but fiery...not so much. Why do I say this? Because I've read Foxe's Book of Martyrs; I've read about what, i.e., Chinese Christians have, and do suffer...or what Christians in Muslim countries endure and......oh brethren...we haven't suffered ANYTHING...yet. Let us cry to the Almighty for strength, that no matter WHAT He sees fit to bring us through, we will rest ON Him and in Him! Amen! HE will uphold us by His grace! He has promised to save us to the uttermost! Let us trust on Him no matter what!

    Very excellent thoughts, Joyce.

Over the years, I began to realize that I heard a LOT of people saying, "We have to get people to church." That was never preached by the apostles. They led people to CHRIST, preached CHRIST crucified, buried, and risen again! When we COME to Christ and believe on HIM we BECOME the church!

So often now days, the church has become the 'head' in its own eyes, when all along we as believers are to HOLD FORTH THE HEAD, and CHRIST is the HEAD! We put something on our candlesticks other than our Preeminent Lord and Savior!

People are often 'discipled' into a church system, a man-made organization, a creed, etc. -- when what is truly vital is that they be grafted into Jesus Christ with no 'mediators' in between them and the Lord!

MULTITUDES have been grafted into a 'church', when in reality, they are not wholly grafted into Christ and rooted and grounded in HIM. MULTITUDES are 'rooted and grounded' in a system, which will not, and cannot, save them and stand them in good stead. I groan in my spirit because perhaps these will be among those who say, "Lord, Lord" in the great day - but find out they didn't really know HIM (they knew a system) - and He didn't know them!

    Blessings, Joyce!

I also knew someone who was somewhat overweight, not obese, though; they too changed their diet and were cured of type 2 diabetes.

The Lord still is the "Lord Who heals us"! If we all think about it, it's staggering to think of the many sicknesses we've recovered from, and of the many injuries we've sustained that have mended! God has healed us over and over! It's NOT the treatment or medication that saves us! They could not help us without God using them to help us! Praise the Lord.

At the same time, I know many people who are struggling with health issues who have not been healed..yet. But they WILL be, either here or in heaven! :) One day there will be NO sickness, no pain, no sorrow, no struggle, not battles as we have now. Above all, we will be forever in our Father's house, and behold the face of Jesus, and follow Him wherever He goes! We have EVERYTHING to look forward to, all because of Jesus! Praise the Lord!

    1 John 1:9

    King James Version

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

This verse proves Christians are not sinlessly perfect on earth.

I checked a few on-line bible dictionaries and the word Parbar refers to a suburb, so this would be a suburb of Jerusalem.
