    Hey Linda,

If I may give another understanding of why Jesus told Peter "Get the behind me Satan". We find this in Matthew 16:23 and Mark 8:33. It may seem that Satan was influencing Peter, but Satan wanted Jesus to be killed because that would stop Jesus the Messiah from setting up the kingdom on earth, God's plan was hidden, even from the disciples.

Everyone and the disciples thought when the Messiah came, He would set up the Kingdom and set up the new world order. Jesus told them several times He would be killed and be resurrected, Matthew 16:21 Matthew 17:22-23 Mark 8:31 Mark 9:31-32 Mark 10:32-34. In Luke 9:44-45 it was hidden from them until He was resurrected Luke 24:6-8, and later the Holy Spirit would bring all remembrance to them, John 14:26.

The understanding of those sayings was hidden, and Peter took Jesus aside and was saying surely God would have mercy and not let this happen. Jesus turned away and when He said what He did all the disciples heard what He said. The word Satan was originally a common noun meaning adversary.

The disciples were amazed Jesus was going to Jerusalem and they were afraid Mark 10:32. Even though they were told what was going to happen it was hidden they did not have a clue, they were still looking for Jesus to overthrow the Romans and set up the kingdom. That was the reason they all scattered when Jesus was arrested and Peter's denial, they all were devastated and shocked because the Messiah when He came was to set up the kingdom not to be killed.

Jesus' response to Peter and the disciples was drastic but it was a message relevant to them all, a message they all needed to hear to get them through what was shortly to happen. One other thing, when Jesus came it was for the lost sheep of Israel only, even after Pentecost it was still for the house of Israel until the mystery of the gospel of grace was revealed.

Jesus only lost one, Judas who He called the son of perdition, John 17:12.

    Hope this helps

    God bless,

    Robert:

1 Corinthians 15:28 And WHEN all thing SHALL BE subdued to him, then shall the Son ALSO HIMSELF be subject to HIM (the Father) that put all things under him, that GOD MAY BE ALL IN ALL.

    Meditate on this verse:

Can man be in hell and these WORDS OF GOD BE TRUE?

Man can be IN THE GRAVE; until he is raised up and brought to truth.

The wages of sin is DEATH.

    God Bless You!

Those are the letters of the ancient Hebrew alphabet. They were used instead of numbers. Koph is the 10th letter, so the verses under Koph are in the 10th section of Psalm 119.
  • Adam - In Reply on Isaiah 55 - 3 years ago
Hello, I thought I'd share my thoughts on your last paragraph about God's goodness.

God is the author of life and has the moral right to take it. Some people seem to be falsely comparing their narrow view of the world to their creator and some even border on blasphemy by accusing God of being "bad." People should be afraid of getting anywhere close to this line, because it could be the unforgiveable sin. People often falsely assume people who commit evil deserve their rights to commit evil, while disregarding the rights stripped of those they harm. So, on occasions where God steps in and removes an evil threat, then some complain and accuse God of wrongdoing. I bet if God removed everyone's freewill and eliminated all evil then people would then complain about having no freewill. Either way, people complain and act self-entitled to everything they demand, as if God is some kind of genie to serve them, rather than the other way around. God bless.

No. God made them in the beginning, and only them. And through the commands of God, they were married, and made love for children.
  • Jay - In Reply on Isaiah 55 - 3 years ago
No, He is not anything close to evil. But the devil is evil. The reason why there is those thoughts that we have is because of the devil. Ever since Adam and Eve ate the tree of knowledge, we have been in his temptation. The sin of the world came in because of them, and God knew they would do it. And since He knew, He would a long time later give Christ so we could overcome the temptation and know God for ourselves. If you accept Him, and put on the Holy armor of God, you will have the authority to rebuke the evil thoughts, and repent from all sin. You will slip up once in a while, but you just repent, and continue living for your Lord. Hope this helped

Tell her. Even if she does not want to hear it, just say about it. Try to get her into it and actually feel something that is true and something that you think she will turn to.
  • Jay - In Reply - 3 years ago
Mostly in Revelation. If you are trying to look it up in the Word and find the parts where it does say about the rapture, look everywhere, study every chapter. Other chapters it says is mostly Matthew, and mentions it in Psalms and many other chapters. Hope this helps.

After reading all comments, Now I understand the first word in the verse and for every eight verses are the 22 Hebrews alphabets. Why it would be necessary to add them in the verse I really do not know.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 3 years ago
    Hello Alex,

I believe that unredeemed mankind is influenced by evil because of the sin nature that abides in us due to Adam succumbing to

evil temptation. I do also know that Satan is not omni-present, He can only be in one place at one time. The same is true for

each of his fallen angels that follow him. So, I do not believe that Satan is in every human person. Sinfulness is in all of us,

though, but our humanness is not to be despised as it is a work of God's creation that he said was good. Gnostics saw our

physical nature as evil and that our spiritual nature as good. This is called dualism. But Scripture clearly says both our whole

humanness is good as created by God. But, since the fall, sinfulness attached itself to our whole nature, physical and spiritual,

what God has created as good has been corrupted by sin. This is why we are helpless to overcome sin and evil in our

unredeemed state. When we are redeemed by God, are spirit is changed by the Holy Spirit so that we can believe the gospel

and receive the salvation accomplished for us in the death and resurrection of Jesus. Our redeemed human person now has the

Holy Spirit in us to give us power to resist the devil, sin, and put to death our sinful nature whenever it arise to tempt us into

sin. In this life we will not have total victory over this sinful nature. We will battle it until we die or are resurrected with the

    coming of Jesus.

Good morning Kay, well, too bad we haven't met in person yet! I am sure we could teach each other a thing or two!

I am 65 and recently retired due to lower back arthritis and severe trouble with respiratory viruses exacerbating asthma. The classroom full of kiddos was no longer the best place for me to be! I love to garden and am slowly regaining better endurance for some of the prep work in preparing the ground for planting. I can work for about 1 hour then need to rest my back for the day. My husband wishes to do woodworking, so I hope to learn that with him. We will be building planter boxes when i can get up and about better. That will teach us some of the skills for more advanced woodworking projects. Who knows, maybe it will become a "cottage industry" for us in our retirement. Maybe our sons will get the "bug" and work with us on projects, too.

Whatever we can do as a family, I am happy for that. Our oldest son got us all into learning to use guns. We go shooting as often as we weather permits up in the hills by our house. he is a good teacher, very knowledgeable and safety conscious. We love to camp together and try to go for at least one family camping trip each year. My sons like to hike, but I cannot do that due to my back.

I don't know if you experienced this or not, but each of our sons went through a time as young adults when they did not want to have a thing to do with parents. So we have been working on developing better adult relationships with each of them over the last dozen years or so. they are becoming more relational with us over this time. I pray every day for them to be drawn to return to the Lord again. I pray for my oldest sons new wife to turn from Islam to Jesus and I pray for God to bring the best women for my other two sons to be their wives. All are in their thirties.

Thank you for sharing. As believing parents we do our best to raise our children up in faith, but at some point we need to release them wholly to the Lord.

The strong delusion that is the lie in 2 Thess. 2:11 is called: "The finished work of Christ on the cross" which cancels and denies the fact that "Christ Jesus took our place in hell." Preaching a lie saves no one; God hates liars! We are dipped in water in likeness of Jesus who God dipped in hell as Rom.6:3-5 tells. God cut his 3 days and 3 nights horrific suffering there in half to 36 hrs. (3 pm Fri. to 3 am Sun.) If you do not know that someone took your place in hell you will go there!

Dear Heavenly Father, Suze's beloved friend needs you as You know. We ask to day that You will stir up the heart of this friend to inquire of Suze the reason for the hope within her so that she can share the gospel with her and You will do the work of salvation in this dear friend. Give Suze cause to speak about her faith in You to her friend as the You provide the opportunities. Soften the heart of Suze's friend and prepare it to receive the truth about You and Your Son, Jesus Christ. We as these of You, Father, in the name of Your Son, Jesus.

Hi Cheryl, when I search the word rapture, it doesn't show results in the text, but when you click the "related bible topics' link on the right that says "rapture" it gives you a page of scriptures about it: Link

It doesn't use the word rapture, but "caught up" and other terms. So, I think as a convenience someone came up with that word to describe these events as described in the Bible. God bless.

I've met many atheists who've come to Christ. They have more hope than we sometimes give credit for as they're searching for answers. Most naturalist atheists I've met are more than willing to sit down and talk about the word of God. Those who have no political attachment tend to be more open to listening to the Gospel. I'd let her know that if she's your friend (your sister) that you love her and there's only truth in love. Tell her that the truth is simple. If we complicated the Truth, it would be hard for anyone to accept Christ Jesus. But here's that simple Truth of Salvation:

Titus 1:2, "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, PROMISED before the world began."

Acts 13:39, "And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses."

[Law cannot justify, you can't justify your self, philosophy and religion cannot justify you...only justification through the Blood of Christ Jesus]

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" ( Romans 3:23)

    Romans 10:8-13

    "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him."

The religious of this world seek to complicate the simple Truth (Salvation) of Christ with doctrines, sacraments, laws, pre-requisites and but these verses are Truth and the Truth shall set you free.

13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
  • Daniel Lindenbaum - In Reply on 1 Thessalonians 4 - 3 years ago
This is probably the closest to a correct answer I've even seen posted this site. 1. & 1a.

The rapture would not occur anytime after, the Biblical teachings of the rapture (over 28 verses in the Bible which relate directly to a pre-tribulation rapture). The mid-tribulation, post-tribulation, millennial rapture teachings have a relatively dark history. Two of them (I believe they're the oldest false teachings of the 3 latter mentioned) teach that the rapture has already happened and as has the tribulation. There's another one which states everything was literal in the Bible and also already came to pass. The sects that teach that also believe that state that the streets of gold Christ talks about were not Spiritual but literal streets in Jerusalem.

This used to be a relatively clear topic in theology but modern ministries have completely polluted. As I've written in a previous post -- there's no need to speculate: will Christians endure the 7-year tribulation? Satan would have some believe that and steal your peace.

"Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth." - Revelation 3:10

I have an entire study on this which also gives historical account of members of the early church (post Revelation) who wrote about the pre-tribulation rapture and wrote about it.

Well, Gigi, we are a bit the same in some ways! I too enjoy physical work. My son always is after me to 'slow down', I'll be 69 this summer, and in his mind, I should 'take it easy'. But I'm a firm believer that we 'lose' what we do not 'use'. It's true in our spiritual lives, and in our physical. We have a wood stove, and I'm always stacking wood, or hauling wood, mowing the lawn, etc.! This (as you so well put it!) 'foo foo' stuff isn't my 'thing'. :)

Those are GREAT skills to have, regarding the power tools. I've not delved into that area yet, but probably should. It's good for gals to know that stuff!

My son was showing me some videos on 'wood turning' from the you tube channel, "David's Woodturning'. It's fascinating. I would LOVE to do stuff like that! If I had lots of money - I'd also love to learn pottery and have my own pottery 'shed'! I love creative things; I don't say I have a lot of talent for it, but sure like to try!

Have a wonderful new week, Gigi!!

If the church will be removed before the great tribulation, whose test will be done to?

As the Bible says, the day of the Lord won't come before the man of sin is revealed. 2nd Thessalonians 2:2-4.

After great tribulation will come to those who believe have the FAITH of Jesus Christ and those who hold fast His commandments.

Dear Gloria , I am desperate for the return of Christ . God already knows who belongs to Him and who doesn't ,, He has always known everything about everyone and He sees all the evil , all of it all day every day , what a hideous site that must be . Here are a few verses that you might find helpful in understanding how I feel . Ezekiel Ch 23 , Rev Ch 2 V 18-23 , Ezekiel Ch 18 V 32 +Ezekiel Ch 33 V 11 , 2nd Peter Ch 3 V 1-14 , Isaiah Ch 62 especially V 7 , Psalm 122 especially V 6 , Genesis Ch 49 V 10 (Shiloh being Christ ) Isaiah Ch 48 V 22 and finally Matthew Ch 6 especially V 10 . We all need the return of Christ , Christians and none Christians , only then will there be real peace and safety for all . To pray for the peace of Jerusalem is to pray for the return of Christ . May God bless you .

    We are able to control when we put on the new man in CHRIST. When a bad thought pops into ones mind command the devil to flee, don't ask command him to flee and he will run from you all in JESUS name. CHRIST gave us the power over all our enemies in HIS name. To not have bad thoughts we have to put away earthly things and let the spiritual man take over. Paul explains this in Col. 3:;

Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Quit watching tv that may put bad thoughts in your mind, quit doing things that may do the same. We have to be in the world but we don't have to be of the world. Keep studying the WORD and build up your spirit to overcome wickedness, every day in the WORD is a good day!!

GOD had already promised Abraham that through his son Issac's seed that would be numbered as the stars of heaven and sands of sea. Abraham knew this and to sacrifice the son that GOD had made the promise for; Abraham knew and had faith that GOD would either raise Issac or some miraculous event to fulfill the promise. The story was to show all of us what it would be like to sacrifice your only begotten son. The heartbreak that it would take to do it would be over whelming. The story was intended to lead us to what GOD Himself would have to do to save HIS creation; the blood to atone for mans sin, a perfect sacrifice for 1 and all times that those who believe shall have salvation and eternal life. Our works are the only thing we can take with us when we pass. It could be as simple as smiling to someone and giving them a simple warmth for a moment to leading by example or helping a neighbor in need. Charity covers a multitude of sins.
