    Marke,

The two witnesses are the 144,000 sealed saints from both houses of Israel.

I challenge you to prove that they are not one and the same.

On the other hand, Malachi 4:5 is one person, in the order of Elijah, with a separate mission from the saints.

Thanks Adam, just got home. My hand is very numb now but will wear off in a few hours. Then I will be able to determine the pain level and how to treat that. I appreciate your prayers as I recover this week and go in on Friday for my second surgery.

    DEAR RICK

Your question made me think of the passage in Philippians 2:5-8 stating "Let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross." (NIV)

And Philippians 4:8 which says, "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things."

I am sure that others will have something to add.

In my opinion its because Jesus was temporarily put into the limited form of a man, so in that state it wasn't exactly the same as looking at God in the spirit form with all God's glory and power. This happened before, actually, when Jacob wrestled with a figure God took a physical form and wrestled with Jacob: Genesis 32:30. I think if people looked directly at God in spiritual form they would normally die, because its too intense to handle. Exodus 33:20. Moses saw the back of God as He passed, but again, wasn't the same as a full on experience. Ex. 33:19-23

I think the apple thing is something man-made that does not reflect the truth of the Bible. I don't think the fig was the forbidden fruit but if it was we do not have any reference to it as having some Garden of Eden significance anywhere in the Bible.

I do not believe Cain was born of sex between Eve and the devil. That is nonsense.

First, who is Christ, see John 1:1. In order to have the mind of Christ you must know and understand the Word of God, for He is the Word of God. Read II Timothy 2:15 and I Timothy 2:4-8

Carol, Satan is everything opposite of God.

God is not tangible, God is life, faith, mercy, truth, counsel, light, understanding, wisdom, ETC.

Satan is not tangible, Satan is the exact opposite of all these things that God is, death, lies, deception, falsehoods, hatred, ETC.

    HEAVEN is metaphor for MAN.

Man is born into this earth with no qualities of God, look at this world and you can see that the qualities of Satan abound, and govern man.

Man is either the image of his Father, death, lies, deception, hatred, etc. Or he is the image of his Father, life, truth, love, mercy, etc.

Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in HEAVEN (in man, in YOU); a woman (Christ's wife, YOU) clothed with the sun (brightness of God) and the moon (God's faithful witness in the heavens, Psalms 89:37) under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.

Revelation 12:2 And SHE (Christ wife) being with child (to be delivered into TRUTH, the WORD of God) cried, travailing in birth, (of the WORD), and pained to be delivered.

But look at the next verse.

Revelation 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven (in man, IN YOU): and behold a great red dragon (lies, deception, hatred, falsehoods, in you) ......

Revelation 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars (ANGELS, those chosen to be spirit messengers of Christ, Christ wife) of heaven (man, YOU) and did cast them to earth (among all the deception, lies, falsehoods): and the dragon (lies, deceptions, falsehoods) stood before the woman (Christ wife) which was ready to be delivered (INTO TRUTH), to devour her child (YOU the new creation in Christ, the IMAGE OF CHRIST)(with lies and deception and falsehoods) as soon as it (the Child, YOU) was born (as soon as YOU were BORN OF TRUTH through the Holy Ghost coming to you, falsehoods and lies and deception have tried to keep you from being ONE WITH TRUTH, WITH GOD.

This gives a much more historical defining of the book of Enoch. Which I appreciate as this should help the neighbor asking the above question. It's known that there are Ethiopian bibles which has included this pseudo scripture for nearly 2 centuries. What I'm aware of is that shortly after the wicked "Toronto Airport Blessing (dominionistic emergent apostate church movement); many of these lukewarm ministries have handed young new believers a Bible and the book of Enoch. I met a young man who got saved and shortly after, moved to a Minnesota church which was a branch of the T.A.B. They had all kinds of apostasy (physical claims of ressurecting the dead, fake gold fakes falling from the roof, "soaking" in the spirit). They had a myriad of questions about the book of Enoch. When I rebuked their "pastors" for giving this out they mentioned also handing out pseudepigraphon books and calling them scripture. They particularly mentioned one called "the Life of Adam & Eve." I challenged them to simply read the Bible and ask God...does this sound like You? It doesn't read as inspired; it reads like a Grimm's fairy tale. My recommendation is if you come across the book of Enoch, use it as a means to warn others of the false doctrines/histories in it.

  • Daniel Lindenbaum - In Reply on Psalms 37:13 - 3 years ago
Mark got the answer correct right there. It's the judgement of wicked (especially the backbiters). It can be both physically contextual to the events in Psalm 37 and also prophetic of the things to come shortly before the 2nd coming of Christ. I know someone else probably know the prophetic context behind this better than myself. In short, there is no rapture for the wicked. The wicked (those of Satan) will not be caught up. The rapture is Christ taking His church (the born again) right before the rapture begins so we (the elect) are not left behind to suffer the wrath of the 7-year tribulation.

I read a preacher once write this:

"Jesus came to earth the first time "TO" His own approximately 2,000 years ago

Jesus is coming at the rapture "FOR" His own

Jesus is coming again at the second coming "WITH" His own"

Satan has no plan of such but to seduce as many to a much fiery end during the tribulation.

I understand that Adam had many other sons and daughters, but Cain is mentioned specifically as the, supposed, 1st born, and then he murders his brother Abel? Out of what, jealousy! Then Cain is marked; what is this mark? It makes me think of the 'mark of the beast'. He is then sent out into the world. Then I notice Cain's lineage is actually listed prior to Adam's ( Gen 4:17-24), and there is a lot of similarity in the names of Cain's offspring as Adam's. Gen 4:16 says Cain went to the "land of Nod" and took a wife; so there were other people on the earth of child bearing age when Cain was sent away? This seems quite confusing.

Now this makes me go back to reexamine the actual sin in the garden. Where in the scriptures does it say anything about an 'apple'? I have been searching and cannot find it. Is this something that 'man' has added to God's word? I do notice that Adam and Eve covered themselves with fig leaves ( Gen 3:7), so did they actually eat a fig as the 'forbidden' fruit? And why would that make them realize they were naked and cause them to cover themselves with "aprons", again Gen 3:7?

Did something more sinister actually go on in the garden than what we are being taught? Isn't satan referred to as a serpent? Is he the serpent in the garden who "beguiled" Eve, Gen 3:13? Could Cain actually be of the serpent's (satan's) seed?

Gbu Edward...But you do greatly err...As Abraham Isaac and Jacob was three distinct beings. but the one 1 singular Father of Israel...That was multiplied as the Sands of the Seas in multitude....God asked Abraham can you count the Stars of Heaven so shall thy Seed Be...And Abraham means father of a multitude...He was a type of God Almighty that wanted a posterity and Jesus was his 1st born of MANY Brethren...God Almighty swore by his very self when he made that Promise of multiplication of Christ...Thus its God the Father that is gonna be multiplied as the stars of heaven..Thats y Jesus is saying to whom the WORD came it made them Gods..impling many as the stars of Heaven, And that which is born of the spirt is spirit which is the H.G the Children of Promise...Impling multiplication of God in the Spritual realm....Not only was Jesus God the son but his seed is the very seed of God...Thats y he is saying to whom His Word came ( his seed ) it made them Gods...And Jesus says his words cannot return unto him void...Which is the contents of the book in the Fathers right hand...The WORDS OF LIFE.

....Now unto Abraham and his seed were the Promises made... Gal 3 : 16 kjv..But he said not seeds plural ( natural ISRAEL ) But unto 1 seed which is Christ the Israel of God....Thus its Christ that is gonna be multiplied as the stars of Heaven...And that y the Sower of the good seed wants to sow his precious seed in our hearts...Which is the living Word that New Covenant...I will know them ALL which is an intimacy with us HUMANITY resulting in a birth of Christ in us ..And Hebrews 1 : 8...But unto the SON he says thy Throne O GOD IS FOREVER AND EVER..A Sceptre of Righteousness is the Sceptre of thy KiNGDOM..Thus the H.G. which is the Manchild that Child of Promise Emanuel will rule ALL THE WORLD...Which is the spirit of truth that Jesus said was gonna reprove this WORLD of Sin and Righteousness and Judgement..OOH IMANUEL the stretching out of thy wings will fill th whole World.

Here's a scripture that to add to what Gigi has said.

Philippians 2:5-7. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

WHO, BEING IN THE FORM OF God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

It appears that He was part of the creation. Existed because of God.

He really was a nobody, who made Himself into an image of light!

Perhaps He was given many of Gods gifts ,preserving and maintaining the will of God? Why He turned is still the question that plagues humanity, even today! This is Why we Christians need the true word of God?

How He could naively given up all the blessing of the creator, thinking He could "Take Over" the Creation?

God the Father had a backup plan the whole time!

This of course He is still trying to do. The door that keeps Him away from those who love Christ, is in fact the shed blood of the savior of the world! The vail has been removed, so we might see only Christ!

Living outside of the power of God, will bring unsubstantiated fear. There are different types of fear, while most have the same thing in common. All fear no matter what come from Satan. Satan 's desire is for you and I too live in fear. It is not only provoking but also will keep your eyes off the prize.

This prize is power given to those who trust in His word, and believe that He Is!

That God the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ will do what He has promised,

That He is returning, and will judge the world according to truth and righteousness.

That He is coming as the angels have said ,the same way He left!

Watch! I say Watch. Your redemption draws nigh!

Dear Bon, You are correct that Jesus is the Son of God who took on flesh to be our

Savior through His death and resurrection.

However, He is indeed God who took on flesh. In this incarnation, His divine nature did not change. He took upon Himself the

additional nature of man in order to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins.

    Hello Somefair,

I think the verse you are seeking is 1 Timothy 6:16.

This verse is speaking of the Father, who lives in approachable light which no one has seen or can see.

Jesus, although God in the flesh, is the express image of the Father. But the two are not the same Persons. The Godhead

of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit who possess the one divine nature. That is why we say that God is three Persons in One God.

Those who saw Jesus saw God the Son who took upon Himself human flesh. Prior to this, He was pure Spirit as the Father and

    Holy Spirit are.

Richard, so true about how we are to handle Scripture.

I was just thinking last night about seeking God's wisdom in understanding Scripture as a whole as well as individual verses, chapters, and books. Those who lack wisdom from God can easily take a verse and apply it incorrectly in their life in ways that are detrimental to themselves or others. Some may read where Job thinks he is better off dead and take that to mean that they, too are better off dead. Or where it is written in the law that children who dishonor their parent is to be stoned. These are two extreme examples. But I chose those to show how a person can take a snippet of Scripture and use it badly. This approach is how cults get started and people are led astray into heresy, apostasy or into such groups because they lack wisdom and a full knowledge of Scripture to balance out their thinking.

Thank you for your analysis. It is helpful. Job is a very interesting book, I have read it several times, but have not studied it in depth yet.

Dear Kenneth, i agree with Roman's comment. 2 Peter 3:8-9. It simply states that for God our day is like a thousand years for Him, and one thousand years for us like a day for Him. I think we shouldn't stick to numbers as absolute figures, I think that God simply says that for Him time is something totally different to human's time.

My daughter divorced her husband for having sex with their daughter. I told her that God made allowances for divorce in such cases of fornication. I also told her that God allows remarriage in cases like hers but that she needs to be careful to seek His will in the matter because remarriage is not something that is encouraged in the Bible, even if not always discouraged.

    1 Corinthians 7:27-29

    King James Version

27 Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.

28 But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.

There are two types of people in view here. The divorced and virgins are not wrong if they marry, but only in the Lord.

The handwriting on the wall recorded in Daniel 5 signified the transfer of the kingdom from the Chaldeans to the Medes and Persians. The Chaldeans were represented by the head of gold in the image in Daniel 2. The Medes and Persians were represented by the arms of silver. The ensuing Grecian empire was represented by the thighs of brass. The Roman empire was represented by the legs of iron and the feet represent the coming one world order mess developing right now in our day.

    Daniel 2

29 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.

30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.

31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

32 This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
