    Roman.

My reply was to show Kay when she said "The modern rapture doctrine was never taught by the early church. Study John Nelson Darby and a Scotish girl named 'MacDonald' from whom this theory emerged" End quote.

You said, " Spencer What you've listed is not rapture, but resurrection by the books. Revelation 11:11-12.

    End quote.

However these are rapture quotes by them. again, Here's fragments of the post.

    Oregin

"since not even those who are alive can be taken up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air before the dead in Christ first rise."

    Rufinus of Aquileia.

"to be caught up to meet God, suspended in the clouds and borne in the air."

I have been involved in several debated topics here on this site, mostly something to do with directly or indirectly to salvation.

    I've read your views.

    Our views are far off!!

As I said to Thomas I share with you.

1 John 5:11-13. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

When the Lord returns we all will have to give an account.

    2 Corinthians 5:10.

I would love to receive one and hear this. Matthew 25:21.

I don't think I'll hear that spending all my time chasing down anymore that believes in the rapture.

But I would urge anyone to get their household ready and be watchful.

We have to be careful on how and when to engage because some find and treat the bible as 'Just" fascinating, or "Just" Interesting and treat the books as a great conversation piece.

    There's no virtue in this.

I add, I have no Interest in turning this site into a battle ground over less important issues.

Are you Interested in discussing soteriology?

I believe with all of my heart that Abraham Issac and Jacob were a metaphor for the KiNGDOM of God ...As the nation of Israel came out of the Abrahamic Trinity...And they were Father Son and GRANSON....that became as the sands of the seas...That cannot be numbered for multitude..Which is an allegory for an Israel of God...That was the great Promise that Christ wd be multiplied as the Stars of Heaven..impling an ISRAEL of God...The great Promise was only made to Abraham Isaac and Jacob...implng that an Israel of God wd come out of God Almighty and his Son Christ JESUS...And IMMANUEL THE H.G. God with US...Remember that God Almighty offered up his only son Christ Jesus just like Abraham offered up his only Son Isaac...It was Jacob the Granson whos name was changed to Israel...Thus that 3 rd person the H.G. is the Israel of God...The grandchildren....That are gonna be as the stars of Heaven in multitude when the book is opened releasing the seeds of the sower and to whom the word came it made them Gods, spirits as the Israel of God are spirits that are gonna be born in us which is the H.G. Thats y he is saying that which is born of the spirit is spirit thats the fulfilment of Isaiah 49 a heavenly Israel is coming

....God cd not tell Moses that his name was Abraham Isaac and Jacob if Abraham Isaac and Jacob were not an earthly expression of the Heavenly Kingdom...Don'cha see that Abraham had to be multiplied as the sands of the seas...That tells us that God Almighty is gonna be multiplied as the Stars of Heaven...God swore by his very self when he made that great Promise of multiplication...On the day of Pentecost Jesus said behold i send the Promise of MY FATHER UP ON YOU..Which was baptism of the H.G. the multiplcation of Jesus in Humanity ...The beginning of an Israel of God which was the children of Promise...Thats y the Sower has to go forth and sow his precious seed in US...Without this Abrahamic Trinity there cd neva have been a nation of Israel...r the Kingdom

  • Richard H Priday on Ezra 10 - 3 years ago
The subject of "strange wives." 1 Cor. 7:15-16 addresses a similar admonition; in a way as Ezra 10:44. Ezra 10:3 concerns those who are born to them; and since a child isn't supposed to be judged for the sins of the Fathers ( Ezekiel 18:20); this could be an added concession by the people themselves to what God and Ezra commanded. The descendants of certain nations at that time were not allowed in the Temple for corporate worship as well; but there are certainly instances (such as with Ruth the Moabitess; and with Uriah the Hittite which demonstrate there are certainly those who CHOOSE to serve the God of Israel who are accepted into the beloved.

We need to examine carefully what is being said here. In Corinthians; clearly the N.T. states that an unbelieving wife should STAY in the marriage if she is so disposed; which of course would apply to the believing husband; or vice versa depending on who is of faith. The concept here is of a seductress; so to speak-whatever was drawing them to marry these foreign women was ultimately whatever entity was causing them to be attracted to someone following doctrines of demons; and making them irresistible. There appears to be no protest here of women who wish to follow the God of Israel; rather the emphasis is on those drawn away; which those influences ultimately will do if we allow them in our lives.

It needs to be noted that SEPARATION; not divorce is mentioned. Even if divorce is implied; there is NO scripture that gives permission to remarry; and also perhaps most noteworthy is that there is NO RECORD of ANY Bible character in the O.T. divorcing. This truly parallels Matthew 5:32 and Matthew 19:9 where those who are remarried are said to commit adultery right after the "exception clause". God is not the author of confusion; apparently contradictory texts have unified meanings; at least in the same circumstances.

Good day to all here. I would like to ask for prayer for me this week. I have two surgeries scheduled. Tomorrow I will be having carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand. Friday I will have foot surgery to remove bunions on the outside of my big toe and also on the outside of my little toe. I appreciate that people will pray for these surgeries and for my swift recovery with a favorable outcome.

I may not be posting much as my hand recovers. I don't know how much one handed typing I will actually be able to do. But i will be reading and praying for others as I recover. Thanks all.

    Hello Edward,

Chris has given a good explanation of the doctrine of the Godhead (Trinity). I wish to add the following:

The Trinitarian nature of God is shown at Jesus' baptism very clearly. the Father spoke in an audible voice heard by others, not just Jesus, The Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus like a dove and rested upon Jesus, the Father claimed that Jesus is His beloved Son.

John chapter 1 speaks of the Word being with God and being God (Speaking of Jesus as the eternal Word) through whom all things were created.

There are many other Scripture references.

The Trinitarian teaching says that there is only one God, who, in his essential nature exists in three distinct Persons, but all share the one essential divine nature.

Some people adhere to a "Oneness" error that states that God is one and He reveals Himself in different modalities to mankind: sometimes as the Father, sometimes as Jesus, and sometimes as the Holy Spirit; but these are not three distinct persons. This historically has been known as Modalism and has been considered heresy across the centuries. If this doctrine was true, then all of God died on the cross. But Jesus cried out to His Father on the cross and God can never cease to exist.

Jesus, as fully God (the Son, the Word) and fully human. He, through his death, was reconciling us to God (the Father).

On the cross the wrath of God (the Father) was poured out on Jesus (God the Son and Son of Man). Jesus did not pour the wrath of God upon Himself, but His Father did.

Even though the word "Trinity" is not in the Bible, the word "Godhead" appears in Romans 1:20 and Colossians 2:9.

At the Last Supper, Jesus prayed to the Father and told the disciples that He would ask the Father to send the Holy Spirit. speaking of these as separate Persons distinct from Himself.

I understand that people have differing ideas about this topic. However, I also know that all doctrines about God being a Trinity or not are not all correct, only one is.

The LOVE of money is the root of all evil. ( 1 Tim. 6:10). Paul himself; in fact was a tentmaker; who encouraged others to make things with their hands ( Acts 18:3). He also apparently paid for food during his travels ( 2 Thess. 3:8). Those who used to steal were given similar admonitions to work and be productive. ( Eph. 4:28).

There is; of course nothing wrong for those actively pursuing work in the ministry to be supported and fed ( Luke 10:7). We should be discerning as to the financial accountability of those we support; however and aware of those attracted to "filthy lucre" ( Titus 1:11). Such behavior obviously is characteristic of those "prosperity preachers" whose mouth betrays their true intentions (out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh-( Luke 6:45). Such resources as "Charity Navigator" are helpful to demonstrate what percentages of funds are used directly for ministry purposes. The church itself; as a Body should be supporting one another as the early church; at least in some ways meeting each others needs; as well as contributing financially or using their talents for proclaiming the Good News and fulfilling the Great Commission.

We shouldn't neglect verses for laypeople to "work heartily unto the Lord."( Colossians 3:23-24). We are representing our King; much as Daniel served the king of Babylon daily during the exile ( Daniel 1:5). This was much the same pattern as with Joseph in Egypt. We are even to be faithful with "unrighteous mammon" ( Luke 16:10-11). If we can't be trusted with earthly things; how can we be trusted with heavenly treasure? There are plenty of warnings to avoid amassing large amounts of gold and silver ( Deut 17:17) which God instructed Solomon (along with many wives). Money itself; therefore is an inanimate object; but as they say if "money talks" or gets a life of it's own in our lives then it is clear that it has become an idol. Matthew 6:3 is a good read on the subject..

Rick, the Old testament is A SHADOW of the TRUE.

God told Mosses to make all things after the HEAVENLY PATTERN.

    Man is that HEAVENLY PATTERN.

In the Old God lived in the Holy of Hollies inside the tent in the wilderness.

Then after Solomon built a temple of stone, God lived there in the Holy of Hollies.

At Christ resurrection, a new TEMPLE was built, but not by man's hands, man himself became the TEMPLE OF GOD.

The ark of the covenant was also a shadow of the HEAVENLY PATTERN.

The Old ark disappeared, but the New ark exist IN MAN, the law written in stone was contained in the Old, the law written in the heart is contained in the New.

Aaron's rod that budded, showing he was chosen to be the high priest, was contained in the Old, Christ's rod that budded, showing he was chosen to be the high priest, is contained in the New (Christ in YOU).

The jar of manna, the children's food from heaven, was contained in the Old, the word's of God, the food from heaven, are contained in the New.

The Old ark had six rings, three on each side, with a stave past through them and man was to bear the ark, in the New man still bears the ark.

In the Old the mercy seat was above the ark and the two cherubs, the glory of God above, in the New the mercy seat is above man along with the Glory of God.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a NEW HEAVEN (man) for the first heaven had passed away ....

The sacrifice we must come to understand is found in the faith Abraham has for God , through His son Isaac.

Hard too imagine the depth of love He has for God, as Abraham suffers the 3 days of travel to Moriah, where He will sacrifice His son!

The constant questioning , the act to do such a thing, and the conversations between Him and God!

Can you see Him on His knees as He prays asking over and over how these things can be! While Isaac watches His Father, never questioning Him.

This the time, that God the Father suffered for His son as Jesus His only begotten Son goes on too conquered sin and death.

How He must have grieved while His Son for 3 days and nights went forward for this , the same love for His Father ,the same love He has for mankind, never questioning.

    No greater Love!

This is the love found in the Devine. The love that conquers all things!

This is ultimate Love found in the Father, and the Son!

How is it we do not understand such love in faith ?

I do not see scripture that states the physical Ark of the Covenant has been transported to heaven. When making a statement that the physical Ark is in heaven, please list book, chapter, and verse. I also encourage all to look up "Ron Wyatt", and his archeological findings. He claims to have found the Ark in a cave below where our Jesus was crucified. From scripture there was an "earthquake", and Jesus said "it is finished". When the earth opened up under Christ's cross, His blood dripped through the earth and landed on the mercy seat. Thus, "it is finished". The Ark being in Ethiopia at St. Mary's cathedral sounds more like a Catholic tale, rather than reality, while Ron Wyatt's finding appears to make perfect sense. With that said, I'm looking forward to more discussion.

Lemme say a few words about the Rapture..1st thing God is Spirit thus any kind of a Rapture wd have to be in the Spirit...On the day of Pentecost many heard his voice resulting the gift if the H.G....As the H.G. fell on them that heard his word...That good seed that initiates a heavenly Birth...But their bodies went no where only their spirits were caught up to God and to his throne...The Kingdom came to them as Jesus said thy Kingdom come thy will be done on earth as in heaven...Remember Jesus said unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child...That Woman in Rev 12 : 5 was caught up to God and to his throne but her body went no where it was in the SPIRIT

...This is what i believe the real new birth is when we are bornagain in the spriitual realm we birth a new innerman which is the H.G. that Child of Promise which is Spirit...our new heart and new spirit a living being born in us and thats the Rapture...Jesus plainly tells us unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child ( the H.G. ) you will in no wise enter there in...Thats when we are caught away in the spirit...Thats the Rapture into the kingdom when we are really bornagain in the spirit we are gonna birth as lil Child which is the H.G. THE kingdom....Unless you receive the Kingdom as a lil Child is the Rapture...simply b/c the Child is the H.G. which is the kINGDOM.

...Paul tells some that they were come unto mount Zion the city of the living God. Hebrews 12 : 22 ..That heavenly Jerusalem, But it was only their spirits that was caught up to God and to his throne....It was only their spirits that was raptured not their fleshly bodies...Jesus plainly tells us the KINGDOM OF GOD is gonna be in with you...We don't need to go any where..Thy Kingdom come we are only Raptured in the Spirit here on this earth.

...Remember God told Moses that they cd not build an altar with steps so that their nakedness cd not be seen...If the Rapture was physical folks cd see womans nakedness...Thats y its spritual

My dear brother it doesn't really matter whether we see it as a sacrifice or just a killing. Always have in mind that almost everyrhing modern people do is due to the influence of Sin. The king of this world is not God but our enemy ( 2 Corinthians 4:4). God s only king in His children. And the Spirit of God warned us that people of the final days will be the worst of all. ( 2 Timothy 3:1-5). So don't get so much surprised by what you see and hear. World has changed a lot during the last 20 years and we will yet be surprised by the changes we see from now on. I don't think we can do much to change people by our own, yes we can protest and all those things but probably the only efficient thing we can actually do is to talk to people about Jesus Christ and pray they follow Him. World is never going to change for better. After the church goes to Heaven their king will make his appearance and rule them. What people choose, that will get. If they choose Jesus in this life their choice will follow them in the other life , if not...

Its time we children of God make our voice loud, and whoever listens.

Rapture commentary. This subject; along with many others can be either over or under emphasized in our meditation; study and application. We are to "encourage one another" with the words relating to the coming of the Lord ( Romans 14:19). To escape wrath for those that make the Rapture has to mean even; and especially the first seal for several reasons. First of all; Christ personally is the only one who is able to open the seals ( Rev. 5:1-7). Second; a STRONG Delusion is going to come for those who do not LOVE the truth so that they will believe the LIE ( 2 Thess. 2:11). The covenant with Death and Hell ( Dan. 9:27; Isaiah 28:18) will commence. The restrainer will be removed ( 2 Thess. 2:6) that indicates the Spirit working as He does now in the church age.

Judgment begins at the house of God ( 1 Peter 4:17). There are some; who are living rebellious lives now and whose hearts are far from Him who may identify as "Christian"; others never have identified as believers. Whether any truly Born Again individuals are "left behind" or not; it is healthy to read all scriptures. Surely not everyone who professes Christ is "praying always to be worthy to escape ALL that is to come; and to stand before the Son of Man ( Luke 21:36); nor are they like the Philadelphia church to be "kept from the hour of trial" to encompass all the world ( Rev. 3:10). The "fire" of testing our works at the Bema Seat for those who have much wood and stubble will result in them being saved but suffering loss ( 1 Cor. 3:10-11). Many clearly are asleep at this hour; but in any event those who are His will hear His voice ( John 10:27).

The focus of the Rapture tends to be skewed on individual experiences related to visions or dreams on the subject. The Body of Christ is involved in actively being present during His judgments on the earth. Psalm 91:8 shows how we shall only see the judgment of the wicked from afar. We shall rule and reign with Him after He returns ( Dan. 7:27).

Hello Edward. You wrote: "there is no such thing as a trinity, meaning three, for God is all", and "many of you speak of the father, the son, and the holy spirit as being separate, and not one the same."

To clarify, the trinitarian belief is not of three gods, but of one God seen in the Bible in three 'manifestations' of Himself. When we speak of the Father, Son & the Holy Spirit as separate, it's because that is how the Bible presents the Person & Activity of God. I cannot be clear from what you wrote, whether you believe that when Jesus was born in the flesh that God the Father was no longer in Heaven? Or, when the Holy Spirit came to indwell the believer in Jesus Christ, that God the Father left His Abode?

To quote what you also wrote: "He is the word, was manifest into the son Jesus, then went back to heaven in spirit, and will return once again as the living God in the flesh." Are you saying that Jesus, in His Ascension, returned to Heaven only in Spirit-form?

I won't comment further as I may not be understanding what you've presented. I'll look forward to your responses to my queries.

Jesus has begun giving instructions about what He wants His twelve hand-picked apostles to do when He sends them out on their own ( Matthew 10:1-4). He began by defining where they should not go: to any Gentile areas or Samaritan towns ( Matthew 10:5). Instead, Jesus now says, He is sending His representatives to the "lost sheep of Israel."

At the end of the previous chapter, Matthew described Jesus as feeling compassion for the people as He looked out over the crowds. Jesus saw that they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Those are the "lost sheep" Jesus is sending His disciples to reach with the good news of the Messiah and the kingdom of heaven.

In saying this, Jesus was directing the good news to all the people of Israel, not just some. God's plan was that the good news of Jesus would first be preached to Israel and then later to the rest of the nations ( Romans 1:16).

    Context Summary

Matthew 10:5-15 contains Jesus' instructions for His twelve apostles, for their missionary trip to the towns of Galilee, in northern Israel. Their mission will be to preach His message that the kingdom of heaven is near, while also healing people and casting out demons. The apostles must not take with them extra money or clothes. Instead, they will stay with those who are worthy in each town they visit. If nobody in a town believes their message, the disciples are to shake the dust of that town from their feet. Jesus will follow these instructions with a series of warnings and encouragements.

First, John the Baptist may not have had any correspondence withno knowledge of Jesus after he baptized Jesus, although he was the forerunner of Jesus. A forerunner is a messenger sent before to give notice of the approach of others. John the Baptist was the messenger announcing Jesus' coming. He would not have to have contact with Jesus.

If John did not have any contact with Jesus, it would have been through the Holy Spirit that John knew ( John 1:29,36). Later on, John told Herod his marriage to his sister-in-law was not lawful ( Mark 6:17-18). That got him put in prison.

What few people realize when studying the Bible is that John the Baptist did not witness any of Jesus' miracles. The Jews expected a messiah that would set them free from the control of the Romans. This was not what Jesus came to do.

John had plenty of time to think while he was in prison. He probably had many doubts. He may have wondered why Christ did not come and deliver him. That's when he finally sent two of his disciples to ask Jesus some questions ( Matthew 11:1-3). Jesus told them to tell John what theyhearand see. "... The blind, lame and deafarehealed, the dead are raised, and the poor hear the good news of God's Kingdom. Happy is he who has no doubts about me." ( Matthew 11:4-6).
