Chastening does not always come as punishment for sins. Job was not being punished for sins when he endured great trials and suffering. Chastening is for correction, for rebuke, for correction, and for instruction. The Lord breaks all born-again believers as part of the growth process.

    John 15:2

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

As Christians grow and begin to bear fruit the Lord purges us so that we may bring forth more fruit.

Once we begin to gain more victory over besetting sins after we are saved then we become prepared for the next step of Christian growth, which is the refiner's fire.

    Proverbs 25:4

Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.

It is obvious that Joshua did not realise that the warrior who stood in front of him was a God's angel actually.

    2 Kings 18:4.

    2 Kings 18:4

He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.

Some religious people venerate religious relics, symbols, moments, and so forth, such as splinters from the cross or scraps of fabric from Jesus's burial cloth, and so forth. Such veneration of objects like that is idolatry. Ahaz was right to destroy the brazen serpent Moses had made because people were worshipping it like some sort of holy relic of God. Ahaz called it Nehustan, or a piece of copper or brass. In other words something worth its weight in scrap metal.

It means that life comes from God. Life for our material body but eternal life as well through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ.

Apostle Paul sometimes plays with words trying to give importance to some meanings. So he oftens indentifies a person with a characteristic he has, trying to show how huge that characteristic exists in that person. Also God is love, God is justice, God is truth, Jesus is the way to the Father, Jesus is the resurrection ...

  • David on Lamentations 3 - 3 years ago
Before us is pain and suffering. Behind us is cold and shivering. Deafening silence abounds about us because our sins have turned the LORD GOD away, "My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:"

But the LORD has caused me to remember

"22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."

Thank YOU LORD for YOU are Righteous and Faithful and will not cast off for ever. V31

We are in grief however it is not of the LORD'S doing. My Loving GOD has compassion according to the multitude of HIS Mercies. We therefore must not complain for the punishment of our sins.

    Continued from last post:

Because of my transgressions, my enemies and those against my GOD, blaspheme HIS Holy Name and Character. I have given the lost further grounds to mistrust my KING and LORD of my life the LORD JESUS CHRIST. I know that they will receive the recompense according to the work of their hands. They will be covered with sorrow of heart, and cursed, persecuted, and destroyed from the Righteous anger from under the heavens of the LORD.

However, compassionate LORD GOD, thank YOU as YOU bless all who will turn to YOU and give praise and glory unto the LIVING GOD, the anointed ONE - the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Thank YOU FATHER for hearing our cries and blessing all those who call YOU GOD and KING today.

I hope and quietly wait for YOUR appearance in the clouds. YOUR saints await the shout of YOUR VOICE "to come up hither."

Our wait for the LORD should be a "working" while waiting. Reminds me of an gospel song:

"Sowing in the morning, sowing seeds of kindness,

Sowing in the noontide and the dewy eve;Waiting for the harvest, and and the time of reaping,

We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves"

"Bringing In the Sheaves" Written By Knowles Shaw; Psalm 126:6

I pray LORD for YOUR intercession regarding Russia/Ukraine. Our President Biden and his administration turns to Your wisdom and lean not unto his own understanding. Praying for comfort and peace unto those who are contemplating abortion; that they find joy and love in Christ Jesus.

Thank You LORD for hearing and answering our cries and supplications.

    Hi Jeanie,

From my understanding and experience Catholics and some Protestants celebrate what they call Holy Week which includes: Palm Sunday (Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem - Luke 19:28-40), the Last Supper on Thursday ( Luke 22:7-38); Jesus' agony in the garden, betrayal, trial, scourging, and crucifixion ( Luke 22:39-23:1-49), his burial and entombment,, ( Luke 23:50-55), and His Resurrection from the dead ( Luke 24:1-12; Matt. 28; Mk. 16; Jn 20-21), but not the Passover in the sense that the jews celebrate it. This week of celebration is pointedly centered on Jesus our Savior, which the Jews do not celebrate because they reject Jesus as the Messiah. The Passover is a memorial of the passing over of the Israelites in Egypt by the angel of death and the hasty meal before they fled from Egypt (In Exodus).

I bless Jesus, and all glory to Him, Suze. :) In myself, I am wretched, poor, naked, blind and miserable. If any good thing shines from my life - it all came from our True and Living Fountain. Come! Join me in thanking and praising Him! Amen! :)

You are truly an encourager to the body, Suze. I wonder how many hanging-down hands and feeble knees you've lifted and strengthened? Jesus knows, and when He comes, His reward is with Him! :)

    Blessings, sweet sister!

I don't really understand what 2 Corinthians 10.7 means. I am concerned about whether I am fooling myself or not really resigning myself to God as I really want to. Can you help me make this meaning clearer in my mind?

Bruising the head was directed toward both Eve (woman) and the serpent (which Satan had embodied in the Garden). By bruising the head meant that the offspring of woman would bruise or crush that of Satan's armies. Look at mankind (the offspring of the seed God planted in the garden with Eve) ; the born again can spiritually give Satan a black eye. God has used the elect to have this ongoing division of Glory (soul winning) which bruises the head of Satan's plan (to lead the lost into destruction, death and an eternity in Hell should they not be saved before physical death). Think on this with happiness -- the sheep (us) are those that bruise the head and when Jesus comes back during the 2nd coming...the head (Satan) will eventually be destroyed.

Bruising the heel is that the minions of Satan would attempt to strike at the seed of woman. Anyone who does the work of Satan in the wicked ways of this world and tries to pervert those who serve God are trying to strike the heel. If a cobra struck the heel of a person -- the bite would likely be fatal. The same is of the bite/strike of Satan. He'll try to strike the heel of the seed of woman. In Matthew 12:34 Jesus even refers to the Pharisees as a breed of vipers. Why? Because they were striking the heel of those who came to listen to Jesus and those seeking redemption (Salvation) from sin by Salvation.

On and off for a few weeks, Luke 17:32 has been coming to my heart, being quickened to me by the Holy Spirit:

    "Remember Lot's wife."

Several times when it came, I'd think on it for a bit - but truly didn't 'get' any further instruction on it - until two days ago.

I was working around the house - and the Holy Spirit AGAIN brought that verse to my mind - but this last time, He

    started instructing me.

He laid on my heart that there are some professing Christians who, in the midst of these hard times are looking BACK. They long for the 'good old days'; they long for a better economy, better jobs, lower prices, opportunities to have fun, travel...you know....'normal' American or western life.

These are dangerously committing the sin of Lot's wife, and are in danger of similar judgment. They are heedless, forgetting Christ's warning for such a time as this!!!

Those believers who are looking ahead, looking unto Jesus, looking for the glory yet to be revealed, looking for His coming

don't look back and hanker after 'what was' - but yearn for what lies ahead...Like Paul the apostle, they FORGET what is BEHIND

and press toward what is ahead, their faces forward.

They are believers who count all dung in comparison to knowing Christ, and are constantly hungering after Him; they are those who love His appearing and long to hasten the day; they are those who could care less if the 'good old days' come back or not - because they are not worldlings; who want 'their best life now", in this present time and place; they understand that their citizenship is in heaven, and that is their true home.

What kind of believers are we, then, in view of this dear sisters and brothers? We need to ask ourselves TODAY, while it is yet TODAY - which direction are our faces pointed? Looking back? Or looking forward? SELAH.

God does not want Christians focusing on keeping the letter of the law, especially since they can not do that. They can try but if they violate one point they may as well have violated them all. If a Christian violates one point of the law then he is guilty of violating the whole law. The Lord, however, has a better way for Christians to serve Him, by seeking to believe and obey His will for our lives, which will always be in harmony with the spirit of the law if not always in harmony with the letter.

    Galatians 6

12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

Hiya Marke...Lemme give ya my thoughts on keeping the Commandments..the law etc....And you are right the commandments have to be fulfilled...But Jesus said... Luke 17 : 10 ...After you have done all the things Commanded you say we are unprofitable servants we have done that which is our duty to do...Keeping the commandments are our duty to do...But that does not make us profitable..We still just a servant.

.....We do not become profitable till we are married to Christ and bring forth fruit unto God...As Romans 7 : 4 says

......Which is the H.G. the Child of Promise...which is fruit unto God...As Jesus said unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child you will in NO WISE enter there in...As the Woman that gave birth to the manchild keeps the commandments.... Rev 12 : 17...The Manchild is the H.G. the Kingdom...Jesus said i say unto you unless you receive the kingdom as a lil Child you cannot enter ...The kingdom does not come till the Woman gives birth to the manchild which is the H.G. that Child of Promise.

...Plz note the Kingdom does not come till the Woman births the manchild the H.G....which is the results of that GOOD SEED the words of life...the contents of the book in the fathers right hand has to be opened 1st,...That BOOK BEING THE NEW COVENANT,THATS Y THEY SANG A NEW SONG...After the book was opened, then the woman gives birth making her Profitable to God...Thats when the Promise was fulfiled of the multiplication of Christ Jesus in humanity...Us Sinners are turned into the Sons of God via the words of the book the seeds of the sower the meditation of the new covenant...A birthing Covenant...I will know them ALL from the least to the greatest...An intimacy that is gonna reult in a birth of Christ in Us...the H.G. The children of Promise....Plz note the woman had kept the commandments but she still had to bring forth fruit unto God in order to be Profitable...A baby Christ...the Son of man...mankinds fruit unto God...via that good seed the WORD.

Dear "Tracy Hill", It was God who triumphed over death when He raised Jesus from the power of death, three days after Jesus died on the cross at Calvary. Jesus appeared to the Resurrection to many people. And the disciples had to wait in Jerusalem. After He ascended to heaven. Easter is about Jesus' death, 40 days later came Pentecost and then came the Holy Spirit. We know all this. Acts 2 In short.

But I think you're thinking about where in the end times we are now. Dear Friend, The apostles also believed that they were in the end times. So we are not confused, but looking ahead and knowing that we are now closer than ever. Repent, beloved, and be baptized of the Lord Jesus Christ, and you and all your house will be saved Amen.

My advice, Read Revelation dear. And get your own opinion, ask Jesus to open your mind to the kingdom of heaven and gain insight into the secrets that are from the very beginning of the Earth.

Romans 8:1-11 God bless us all in Jesus Name.
  • Free - In Reply on Genesis 4 - 3 years ago
Dear "Jeremie" we will probably never get an answer to that is my thought. Because the Holy Bible is the pedigree of Jesus Christ. He who will have all the glory now and forever.

And since it is a pedigree, it will from the very beginning be about the first people in Jesus' family. And those people should have control over Eden and all living things on Earth.

Be free from work that leads to death, and believe in the One True God, Lord Jesus Christ.

    Joshua 5:13-14.

When a believer asks God, "Are you for or against us?" he asks the wrong question. There should be no questioning of the Lord but an immediate declaration on the part of every believer: "I am for you, Lord, whether I enjoy what you are doing with me or not."

    Joshua 5

13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?

14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his servant?
  • Marke on Psalms 78 - 3 years ago
    Psalm 78:4-7.

Christians have a responsibility to train up their children to fear the Lord. Public schools cannot do that for parents because public schools by law must mostly deny or ignore God.

    Psalm 78

4 We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.

5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:

6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:

7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
