I hope you get other thoughts on this, Follower of Christ, but in a simple way, I consider those phrases in the following manner:

John 1:29: "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which TAKETH AWAY the sin of the world." This 'taking away of sin', or us 'being freed from sin' ( Romans 6:7), or 'put away sin' ( Hebrews 9:26) appears to be what happens when the Sacrifice of Jesus was completed & the penitent sinner places his trust in Christ & that finished Work. In other words, sin is 'taken away' as God's final dealing with it, to give us spiritual rebirth & confidence & joy in that Act.

Romans 4:6,7: "Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins ARE COVERED." Here, the thought is that the forgiven person's sins are HID from God Eyes. Even though our sins are 'removed as far as the east is from the west' ( Psalm 103:12) so that God remembers them no more (or, no longer holds those sins to our account), Paul in Romans, sees God as hiding our sins from His View, as our sin being a despicable thing in His Eyes. Some could understand this as, 'sins being covered under the Blood'; & this is true as well but taking the passage from David's utterance ( Psalm 32:1,2), the true sense should be that of our sins have been hid from God.

So, in one sense these phrases are similar, as sins are taken away completely, & yet we see both the aspects of a total removal & a total forgiveness as our old sins are treated as filth but covered from God's Sight & taken away only because of Christ's shed Blood. What can wash away our sins? Nothing, absolutely nothing but the Blood of Jesus.

The end time is now here?

First day of Ukraine crisis. Shame on NRK (norwegian television) old clips from Leif Juster and Dizzi Tunes! We should laugh and have fun while people suffer near us. This is not about China or Myanmar. But a neighboring country to Finland. There are tanks on our borders, and the tasteless element can tell of a spiritual apostasy. Bigger than from the beginning of time!

Now there are no nice curtains hanging in many broken windows, no counting nail polish on the fingers of the people who are fighting for their lives over there. Again, one human being has created a turmoil that threatens us all. This face that is shown on TV is just an unparalleled fantasy world. It will put us all in danger. Few human eyes really see what this is. And has little opinion about what might happen in the future. Nor can i know the continuation. Just look at the time.

From east Norway to Ukraine Kyiv it takes about 1 day and three hours and the drive is 2400 km according to Google map. From Halden to Hammerfest we drive in 1 day and 1 hour it is 2001 km according to the same map. So it's not far away. This is well calculated in driving hours, but still there is nothing to laugh about. Rather cry.

In fact, we have been prepared for a long time in view of the reductions in the corona era. Closed borders, among other things. So what's next? Lack of petrol, diesel and electricity so clear. Prices increased before the war in Ukraine. Food shortages are next. Water supplies can be sought after even in Norway. Have we appreciated all this, or have most people taken all things for granted. Then it is no wonder that people are out of place elsewhere in the world who are in turmoil now. They have also thought so. to be continued

    Hello my brother Philip!

I too have been studying the bible for over 40 years. I hope this helps. First someone in heaven now. Yes!

First Enoch. Gen. 5: 21-24. God took Enoch.

Second. Elijah. 2King 2:1-15. Elijah went to heaven on chariot of fire.

Third. Moses Jude verse 9. Michele and the devil fought for the body of Moses. Devil lost. Now go to Matthew 17: 1-13

Elijah and Moses appears to Jesus.

But you are right. Other then that everyone is still in the graves waiting for the second coming of Christ.

    First go to John 11:11-16

Jesus tells apostles Lazarus is sleeping. The apostles had to be told sleep means dead.

Now go to Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 the dead now nothing. Meaning they are not in heaven. If in heaven they would know something. We believe that people sleep. When Christ comes the righteous will rise to go to heaven. Later the wick will rise together then punch.

Hope these helps. If you want more I will be happy to send more information.

    God bless my friend.

    James 1:5, 1John 2:27,

    Mark 5:25-34,

Just recently GOD revealed somethings even deeper about that moment. I'm glad you're discussing so I can share it. In Leviticus 12, Leviticus 15:19-33, Leviticus 21:3, I think it's amazing Jesus called her "daughter" making her faith the (close kinship) also: Luke 8:43-48, Matthew 9:20-22, Galatians 3:26,

Also understanding that her touching him could have had the uncleanness, if He were not the High Priest that makes atonement. Hebrews 2:17, Hebrews 4:14,15,

Hebrews 5:5-10, Hebrews 6:20, Hebrews 7:11, even though; Luke 1, shows His family was of that bloodline, Luke 1:5-37,

Also notable Jesus garment was without seams as the Priestly garment: John 19:23,24, Exodus 28:32, Exodus 29:23, 1Samuel 2:18,19,

Hello Betty-Ellen. Psalm 100, a Psalm of Praise by an unknown author, is his declaration of joy & praise as he comes before the LORD in worship. In verse 4, he speaks of entering the gates of the Tabernacle or Temple precinct with thanksgiving and also going further in to the open area in front of the Tabernacle/Temple (the court) with praise. Worship & praise are continually upon his lips as knows the significance of this holy place & where the High Priest meets with God each year.

Today, those who are saved & in Christ, have bodies indwelled by the Spirit of God ( 1 Corinthians 3:16; 1 Corinthians 6:19), & this reminds us that no matter where we are or whatever situation we find ourselves in, we can always talk to God, listen to Him, be comforted by Him & to offer praise & thanksgiving to Him. Certainly, we can also rejoice when entering a Church building preparing ourselves for corporate learning & worship, but we have so much more than those in olden days, where worship of God is not confined in a set aside area, but in response to the Holy Spirit within us causing us to lift our hearts & voices to God always.

I conclude Adam and Eve were not created loving the darkness. Nor were they created doing evil deeds. Eve was not created deceived. They were not created with enmity in their hearts toward the light. Emnity only existed in the heart of the serpent toward God,, not man when he first comes on the scene, and this enmity extended to man. His lies are the original source of spiritual darkness, and he practiced deception on Eve to get her to make Adam disobey God. That introduced enmity between the serpent's seed and the seed of the woman who is Christ. Do you say otherwise?

John 3 presupposes all of scripture is true since "In the beginning". He does not dispute anything Moses wrote, and in fact he makes it perfectly clear from the first words he wrote that Moses testimony is already entered into the record against mankind. Do you dispute that that? I don't.

Arguing that the reason for the evil condemned in this passage is not attributed to Adam directly is irrelevant, because he has already plainly referenced it before and Chapter 3 cannot be interpreted as though Chapter 1 of his Gospel doesn't exist.

If man was originally created without darkness in his heart, nor doing evil deeds and in fact literally lacked the knowledge of good and evil, as scripture clearly states in Genesis, how did it come about that mankind in John 3 now practices evil deeds and loves the darkness and hates the light with enmity? The condemnation John is talking about is completely impossible without the enmity of the serpent's seed against the seed of the woman that entered the world through God's curse upon the serpent when Adam and Eve fell.

You plainly like to take God's words out of context, use them in isolation, and then apply them as though the rest of His word doesn't exist. That is an extremely bad way to interpret scripture.

    ... continued

I wonder what it means for the water to be bitter or sweet? Here, Moses establishes some sort of statue and an ordinance, telling the people that they will not get diseases that the Egyptians had (either referring to the plagues, or disease that normally afflicted the land of Egypt) but only if they heed the voice and listen to commandments of the LORD and keep the statutes. It does not say what the statute and ordinance was that Moses introduced at that time. It is apparent that he is also talking of the giving of the Law that will come later. He must have had knowledge that the Law would be given later, even at this time. Moses calls the LORD: The LORD who heals.

Next, they travel to Elim, a bountiful oasis with 12 wells and 70 trees. Here the LORD had led them to a place to pasture and water their flocks and abide safely for a while with an abundance of water. Where before, they had found no water and then the bitter water of Marah (with the miraculous change), this place has natural provision of water, shade, and space for the large group to rest, sleep, and have respite. It does not say how long they stayed at Elim. But they were not in danger of the Egyptians anymore and it appeared from any other group. This shows how merciful and benevolent God is, providing what is most needed for the people even though they grumbled and lost faith soon after the Red Sea deliverance.

And so the Israelites are off on this wilderness journey that should only take a short number of weeks. But they still had much to learn about themselves, about Moses, and mostly about I AM WHO AM before getting to the promised land. It was important to value the LORD more than the land He promised them. The Israelites needed to learn this and so do we.

    Amen, Mishael!

Your passion for the Lord pokes my coals and your "boots on the ground" approach spurs me into thirst for His Holy Spirit.

I'm somewhat familiar with part of your background in astrology, from previous posts. Maybe soon I will share part of my testimony. I think you'll get a kick out of it! In a somewhat astrological sense and heavily spiritual in certainty!

  • GiGi on Exodus 15:2 - 3 years ago
This chapter shows the wonderful Victory Song Moses sand for the people extolling the LORD for delivering them through the Red Sea and destroying the Egyptians that followed in after the Israelites. The song not only praises the LORD, but recounts to God and the Israelites what God had done. This is a good example to us. When we face a situation where there seems to be no way out and the LORD makes a way in a miraculous way, she should stop and take the time on the "other side" to praise God and remind oneself and others what had just happened. This song is a new song, not one the Israelites had sung before. It was current and spoke to their present situation where they are now delivered. Before the crossing, God had told the Israelites that He would fight for them, and He did. The Israelites just needed to follow Moses through the sea on dry land. This took faith since the sea was divided into two extremely high walls on either side of the path. They had to trust that God would maintain the sea in that way until they ALL had made it to the other side.

Moses also spoke prophetically in this song about the surrounding nations becoming fearful of them when these hear what God has done for the Israelites.

Miriam took up the song with the women and led them in song and dance. She must have learned the song quickly or else under inspiration. This was a whole group response since the crossing event was experienced by every Israelite.

After this celebration, the large group set out across the wilderness of Shur. Traveling for three days, they did not find any water along the way, and so the group grumbled to Moses about this. At Marah, there was water but to was too bitter to drink. Instead of bending a knee and seeking the Lord themselves, the Israelites complained. They had not learned yet that they could turn to God themselves and ask for what they needed. Moses placed a tree into the waters and miraculously the water became drinkable.

Every sinner born into the world will later die because of sin inherited from Adam. That is what the Bible refers to as the first death.

    Revelation 20:6

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Those who die the second death will die for their own sins, not Adam's.

    Ezekiel 18:20

The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

When Jesus returns, we will not just disappear and this is explained in the Old and New Testament. When Jesus returns, the dead will be raised up first, then the living that is in the Book of Life will be caught up with the dead. There isn't a secret rapture or anything of that nature.

    (Not duplicate)

    Meyer's NT Commentary

Romans 5:13 f. Demonstration, that the death of all has its ground in the sin of Adam, and the causal connection of that sin with death. This argument, conducted with great conciseness, sets out from the undoubted historical certainty (it is already sufficiently attested in Genesis 4-6) that during the entire period prior to the law ( Romans 5:14) there was sin in humanity; then further argues that the death of individuals, which yet has affected those also who have not like Adam sinned against a positive command, cannot be derived from that sin (sin against a positive command) prior to the law, because in the non-existence of law there is no imputation; and allows it to be thence inferred that consequently the death of all has been caused by the sin of Adam (not by their individual sins). Paul however leaves this inference to the reader himself; he does not expressly declare it, but instead of doing so he says, returning to the comparison begun in Romans 5:12 : for in that death-working operation of Adam's sin for all lay, in fact, the very ground of the typical relation to Christ.

Romans 5:13-21 is all designed to prove the declaration started in Roman's 5:12:

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Romans 5:13-14 shows that a lack of law couldn't stop the consequences of Adam's sin for mankind and Romans 5:20-21 shows the law only made it worse since in Adam more commands only = more sin. Paul shows Adam as a figure for (Jesus Christ) that was to come ( Romans 5:14) by paired comparisons of Adam and Christ. He gives the differences in the consequences of their acts ( Romans 5:15-17) before returning to what he started in Romans 5:12 that presents the similarities in the consequences of their acts ( Romans 5:18-19). Death/sin from Adam include spiritual death since life/righteousness from Christ includes spiritual life in this passage.
  • Marke - In Reply on Romans 5 - 3 years ago
Maybe it would help to look at this from a different angle. Let's examine what the Bible says is the reason or are the reasons sinners go to hell.

    John 3

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

I conclude from the text that God desires to save sinners because He loves them.

I conclude from the text that God defines condemnation as rejecting the light He sheds on sinners by the Holy Spirit

I conclude sinners are condemned for refusing to accept the light and refusing to come to the light when drawn by the Holy Ghost.

    Agree?
  • Marke - In Reply - 3 years ago
No, not all sinners will go to the lake of fire. Just those who reject Jesus when drawn to Jesus by the Holy Ghost. Jesus did remove the curse by His sacrifice for the sin of the world, thereby reconciling the world unto God.

    2 Corinthians 5:19

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
