I'm not saying that not all men will be resurrected. I am saying that nobody goes to hell for Adam's sin but all humans will die physically because of the sin they inherited from Adam.

My son was a feisty little guy and smart too. He tried to get around the rules. That's normal. I had a system called "felonies and misdemeanors".

There was 2 felonies: lying and scaring your parent to death. Those were serious consequences and happened immediately. Non-violent spanking on the rear."

We read the Proverbs that said being a lax parent is as bad as a child acting up or out.

I never hit him with a weapon "iron rod". I did it with righteousness. THE WORD. He knew it was Gods way of correction. ( He does this today with his son.) I cured him of 99% lies, by saying IF YOU CONFESS IT, I will forgive you. I will back you 100% if you tell the truth no matter how bad it makes you look, or me or anyone. We will figure out repercussions together and agree on acceptable punishment.

He grew up learning how to respect Truthfulness.

He stretched it to the limit in his teens. I told him I would never search his room without his presence. My intent was we would fully grow up together exploring the joy of truthful living. Life is full of good compromise.

Nowadays, we need more of that kind of wisdom. Don't yell, don't beat, incarcerate (they love being confined to their room with video games, internet and phone). Think outside the social media box. "Enroll" kids into Life Skills 101: reading cookbooks, cooking food, family laundry and folding done right, car maintenance, lawn sculpting, and check-book balancing. You gotta teach it, because schools DONT. You teach Sex Ed from Lev.26 and Deuteronomy 28. Stuff they teach now is demonic.

I loved my sons teen years! We started off rough but he got hooked on what is Gods Truth. He didn't follow the crowd. He learned to lead. Print this out and paste it in your Bible on the front inside cover, for your kids.

Look at nature. Really look. God loves Colors. CRT is not of the Bible. You must not dabble in demonically inspired theories. THEORY IS UNPROVEN "FACT".

    Phillip,

I truly enjoyed your post and the response(s) that it has gathered. These discussions allow each of us to not only review our personal beliefs but to also spur us to dig further into the word for knowledge and understanding. Discernment and validation.

I don't specifically know where I go when I leave the flesh but I know that I would prefer the best possible place! Some, paradise.

Look forward to reading more of your posts Phillip.

    God Bless

Hi dear "Lindachitty, maybe it's about laziness, and apologies, it's not true faith. Faith is a gift we have received. If we are to believe without works. Becomes Grace easy. No apostles had it easy!

Let's say we get a nice gift from our parents. A brand new BMW. But since we expect it to run by itself, it will be left in the garage instead. It is a faith without works.

Thus faith becomes without power. God's kingdom is staggering and the car will not start because the hand will not turn the key.

Just a few thoughts in the early morning hours. Sends with greetings from Luke 9:57-62

Stay blessed in His Name Jesus, love u in Christ.

    Hi frank.

I would like to add one parallel verse to my comment.

Ezekiel 36:26-27. "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."

    God bless.

    Hi frank.

What I find significant in these passages is John 4:23-24. "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

    He's giving something new.

    Something they haven't experienced.

The gift of the Holyspirit working in them.

Notice a previous verse. John 4:10. "Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the GIFT OF GOD, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee LIVING WATER."

    God bless.

    Hi Kenaket.

There's something I believe we have often missed is a passage in the book of Hebrews concerning Christ ministry and that is his priesthood had no beginning or ending.

Note what John the baptist has to say here in John 1:29. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

The old testament had rituals and services amongst many other things that pointed to the Lord Jesus Christ. You see this throughout the book of Hebrews.

God spoke to them in many ways. Hosea 12:10.

We look back at the cross, they looked ahead at the cross.

Here's Jesus in John 5:39. "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."

Hebrews 10:5-10. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

Then said I, Lo, I come (IN THE VOLUME OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN OF ME,) to do thy will, O God.

    Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

( Jesus is referring to old testament scripture )

    1 Peter 1:18-20. Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

WHO VERILY WAS FOREORDAINED BEFORE THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE WORLD,...( BUT WAS MANIFEST IN THESE LAST TIMES FOR YOU,...)

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

Psalms 84 :10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

    1. Court is a village, town, a hall, a palace.

    2. "For a day in THY courts is better than a thousand" One day in your present is a lifetime of blessing, joy, and happiness.

    3. What is a doorkeeper? A doorkeeper is a person who tends a door. If I can work at your door for one day, I will praise you. I will rejoice. Just to be in his present.

    4. Who is the wickedness? Wickedness is unrighteousness, unjust, mischief, hurt, bad, trouble, and evil.

I find it interesting she was told to bring her husband, which she couldn't, so instead after the truth about her shame was openly faced and she received the Lord's (light) chastisement of her sin with inquiring faith he revealed Himself to her as plainly has He ever had up to that point. After that she was able to bring her whole town.

We have to learn to see love when the Lord rebukes, corrects, chastises, and humbles us rather than try to hide or run from it.

    Revelations 3:19

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

The light is critical to face as He shines it on us. When the darkness is exposed to the light it loses its power over us before others.

I find it interesting that unlike many sinful Jews he healed or received and told "Go and sin no more", Jesus didn't say that to her. Although we could speculate, we don't really know what she did about the man she was living with.

Yet Jesus totally changed her from a person no one would talk to or be seen with into someone people saw a change in and gained faith from. That change probably gave her options to make other choices that she had long ago lost through her sin. Rebuilding our lives in His light may not be instantaneous or rise to the standards and expectations of others when we first recognize Christ for who He is, but once we are turned to Christ a path forward becomes possible.

I knew of a couple (over forty years ago) who were fellowshipping with the Christadelphians, but had left them. When in discussion with me, their biggest hurdle was believing that the Holy Spirit was a Person of the Godhead & not just a force or power sent out by God. So ingrained were they in their belief that I still wonder whether they have come to realize the Truth of this Doctrine. As you wrote, we will always be students in God's Word - His Light can wonderfully illuminate our ignorant hearts, whether during our life on Earth, but certainly in Glory.

    Revelation 3:18 COMMENTARY

    Wesley's Notes for Revelation 3:18

I counsel thee - who art poor, and blind, and naked. To buy of me - Without money or price. Gold purified in the fire - True, living FAITH, which is purified in the furnace of affliction. And white raiment - True holiness. And eyesalve - Spiritual illumination; the unction of the Holy One, which teacheth all things (the Holy Spirit)

People's Bible Notes for Revelation 3:18

I counsel thee to buy of me gold. In Christ are "all the treasures of wisdom" ( Colossians 2:3). And white raiment. That they may have the wedding garments ( Matthew 22:11-13). Anoint thine eyes with eyesalve. The unction of the Holy Spirit ( 1John 2:20).

Many people have no faith to ask Jesus, themselves, to be healed (physically, emotionally, financially, making decisions, etc). Why?

It's one thing to lay on your mat and stare at Jesus wishing he would heal you. The man explained his parents must've sinned. Jesus had mercy on him. Stand up, pick up your mat and walk home. The man lays there a minute, then obeys. He stands up, dances around leaping for joy-picks up his mat and walks home.

His faith in Jesus's ability, opposed his belief in his parents sins. His faith stood up.

ONLY THE BIBLE can counteract our unbelief and excuses why we are sick or downtrodden by society at large.

Mix faith with obedience to the known Will of God.

Pray the Lords Prayer, and let your ears hear each line. Each one is a YES and AMEN, from God the Father.

Let's be real here? If there's some kind of hidden sin hindering that prayer; dig it up and give it to Jesus. "I did "this" and I'm sorry for it." Jesus's blood erases it. Guard your heart and mind.

The Lords Prayer says, THIS DAY. This is a daily thing. I do it every day. I'm not perfect yet. Some day I may shine a little like gold or silver, that I purchased with prayers. I have His Love and Acceptance now. So do you.

You can google Old Testaments verses that contain prophecies about Jesus Christ. That should help.

    Hello Frank,

    Good question.

I think that it demonstrates that God will no way cast out anyone who comes to Him seeking salvation and eternal life, no matter what our sinful state entails nor what class, race, or group of people we come from.

I think that it also demonstrates the omniscience of God. He knows all things, as Jesus demonstrated this divine characteristic here.

I think that it demonstrates that God is compassionate and merciful towards people others may not dare to interact with.

I think that it demonstrates that the woman recognized that Jesus indeed was the Messiah and went and told others, since what she saw and heard was definitely 'Good News".

Others may shave additional remarks to what has been posted so far.

Thank you for the encouragement to not overthink things-as I find myself at such unrest when I do.

I am in the word and am beyond grateful for more time to study the word now that I am retired.

Since I have been studying more, several things have come my way.

The question of saved vs being saved, also the differences in Bible translations.

The church I go to uses the NIV, which I am now wondering about as the NIV says being saved vs saved, being sanctified vs sanctified.

Oh boy, how can there be so much division or differing interpretations!

It is very important, in fact nothing else matters beyond knowing Gods truth, for we are to go and tell the world about Him and his one true gospel. We are to be one in Christ!

So do I leave my church and find another where they use a translation that preaches saved vs being saved?

    Thanks ahead of time

    1. It demonstrates the Word of Knowledge, that the Holy Spirit imparts as He wills.

    2. Jesus was sent to the Jews first, but this was a Samaritan Woman. This could be a Divine Appointment because not only was she saved, but most of her town got saved too.

    3. The Lords not going to be conformed to our opinions and presuppositions on how He should behave.

    Matthew Henry Commentary:

David was certainly the penman of this psalm, and it has in it the genuine spirit of the man after God's own heart; it is a solemn vow which he made to God when he took upon him the charge of a family and of the kingdom. Whether it was penned when he entered upon the government, immediately after the death of Saul (as some think), or when he began to reign over all Israel, and brought up the ark to the city of David (as others think), is not material; it is an excellent plan or model for the good government of a court, or the keeping up of virtue and piety, and, by that means, good order, in it: but it is applicable to private families; it is the householder's psalm. It instructs all that are in any sphere of power, whether larger or narrower, to use their power so as to make it a terror to evil-doers, but a praise to those that do well. Here is,

    I. The general scope of David's vow (v. 1, 2).

II. The particulars of it, that he would detest and discountenance all manner of wickedness (v. 3-5, 7, 8) and that he would favour and encourage such as were virtuous (v. 6).

When I want to read some commentaries on a scripture, I actually Google the verses and read several commentaries to get a larger view. Goggle this way:

    "Chapter, verse, Bible commentaries"

I choose the BibleHub site mostly

The KingJamesBibleOnline site has commentaries on it. That box is located below the search box. Put your verse in it; and scroll down slowly till you see it.

Why is there so much difference of opinion between grace and work's doctrine?
  • KJVRWelect1611 - In Reply - 3 years ago
You have to understand who the Apostle Paul was talking to in this verse and keep it in historical context. He was talking not to the heathen gentiles who were not born in the law and under the law and with the law of Moses, but were immersed in their idols. He was talking to the lost sheep of the house of true Israel, who were scattered outside the commonwealth and were cast away by the Most High and were assimilated into Roman culture Hellenized. They were who the disciples and the ministry of Paul was sent to seek out and bring back into the fold. There was no such things as a cult called Christianity or Christendom back then nor one established by Christ the Israelite, or any denomination that will get any of us into the kingdom when he comes to set it us up in it. This is relationship not not ritualism or religious affiliation. Grace in this context was a pardon, and a chance to do it over, and to be given more time, power, and mercy to make the transition from one under the curse of the law unto the Reformation unto that of the New Covenant, New Commandments, New Life and New Kingdom through faith in Christ that would lead to the blessing of the promises made to Father Abraham for both Jews [Judah & Ephraim] by blood and nationality and then to the Gentiles, Strangers and aliens. Our repentance and our return back to the Most High Father through faith and the finished works of the one whom he sent [Christ Yashaya] is not the same but the result is depending on who we are and out measure of faith given, used and received.

You're most welcome, Phillip. Even this a.m. in my quiet time, your question was on my mind, and another verse came to me, and that is Isaiah 66:1 -

Thus says the LORD: "Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest?

Heaven is God's home; Jesus will take us there. Where He is, that is where He wants us. :)

Above all, Phillip, it is vital that you be born again from above, as Jesus told Nicodemus as being vital. Unless you are born of God's Spirit, you cannot, in your own human wisdom, grasp spiritual truths. To understand that there is a heaven to win and a hell to shun is very simple to those indwelt by God's Spirit, and it troubles me that you have not, after 20 years, been able to grasp this very basic truth. Be sure you have been born again, Phillip. Head knowledge and getting some kind of answers to all of our questions is okay and has its place- but nothing is more vital than truly being born of God, and being sealed by the Holy Spirit!

    Amen! :)

Hi John. It is always all about the person of Jesus Christ, first and foremost. Fellowship with the saints is wonderful; but there are tons of people in church who have lots of friends there -- but who have absolutely no relationship with Jesus. Reading the Word apart from Jesus cannot give life, for it is by Him and His Spirit that the Scriptures make sense.

Mary sat at the feet of Jesus to be near Him and listen to Him...and Jesus said of her that she 'chose the best thing." ONE thing is needful, and that is to know Jesus. When you know Him - when you have His Word quickened by Him to your heart - your faith will grow, and you will have life abundantly in your spirit and soul! Every day will be a continual feast.

Never let go of this: It is ALWAYS about Jesus, FIRST and foremost.

May the Father reveal Jesus to you in a deep and real way by the power of the Holy Spirit!

    (Not duplicated)

The verb tense for "die" is Present Indicative Active, but the verb tense for "shall be made alive" is Future Indicative Passive.

The future indicative expresses the occurrence of an action in future time.

The passive voice implies that the subject did not initiate that action or state, but is the recipient of it.

Living and moving and having my being in Christ should not need to wait until a future event occurs and I feel reasonably active with Christ in those things now, especially moving, along with everyone else if this is talking about the curent state of being alive that is experienced by believers and unbelievers alike. Seems strange to suddenly bring that up in the middle of a chapter entirely devoted to defending the doctrine of the necessity of Christ's resurrection and doubter questions about the nature and future state of believers following the resurrection.

Saying 1 Corinthians 15:22 isn't the resurrection is ridiculous. Here is that passage in context.

    1 Corinthians 15:17-24

17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

"shall be made alive" is the resurrection dude. And ALL mankind will be resurrected by Christ by the end of verse 24, either to eternal life or the lake of fire.

Out of context you can make a verse say anything, and you have done that here.
