did the crucifixion of Jesus stop the practice of burnt offerings? With his death, was he sacrificing his life for us. Thank you!

Hello there. I just stumbled on this website while studying. I read your comment and thought that I might take minute to show you a verse that I would say "proves" that when we die we go to heaven. You said you believe Jesus went back to "heaven" from whence he had come. Well, in 2 Corinthians 5 Paul is talking about death. And in verse 8 he says, "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." Paul was ready to die and see Jesus, actually, he looked forward to that time. And it seems to me, unless i am reading this really wrong, Paul is saying that when our body ceases to function and is placed in a grave, we (our soul/spirit) will be with Jesus, who, as you have said, is in heaven. I hope i have read your comment correctly and stated my point clearly, if i have misunderstood your point, forgive me. Have a blessed day, brother.

Hello Phillip, wondering in your studies whether you have read from some of the accounts of martyred brethren (their testimonies) within the Martyrs Mirror by Thieleman J. van Braght?

Hope the day is going well your way!

So, after 20 years of intense searching, study and reference-gleaning using the Concordant Language references of Hebrew-Chaldee and Greek, I am not able to find ANY Scripture that states emphatically that anyone is going to Heaven, or that anyone but Jesus has gone, and He went "BACK" to Heaven from whence He came. The Scriptures used by the denominational churches and every church that I have been to (save one) to PROVE the "doctrine" they have devised to support the premise of "Rapture" (also NOT found in the Scriptures), specifically regarding being "coming in the clouds", "caught up", "in the air", "so shall we ever be", are all references that, when studied in the concordant language, present something entirely different from rapture as it is presented. apantesis is the Greek word used to describe this "encounter", and it can mean friendly encounter, meeting away, or simply meeting. Coming in the clouds are the "glory clouds", the "shikinah glory"; the caught up is the word for "seized", as the ram was seized (caught up) by its horns for Abraham's sacrifice. "in the air", the word here is "the breathing"; the air around us and not auros (the air up higher where clouds and birds are). Considering that the "rapture doctrine" was introduced by Emanuael LeCunza, a Jesuit priest from Chile in the 1600's under the fake name of Rabbi Ben-Ezra in an attempt to take the heat off the Pope for being branded the anti-Christ by the Protestants, in a book that was propagandized by the Roman Catholic church as "banned", the Protestants quickly adopted it as bible doctrine, and the rest is "history". Go figure!

Now I firmly believe Jesus is the Christ; the Savior. If anyone has the TRUTH and not just "opinion" based on denominational doctrine, I am pleased to hear it, as I search diligently for TRUTH!

Who wrote the book of Hebrews? Does The book of Hebrews applies to Gentiles specially Chapter 8:11?

    Hey Phil,

This is a question that comes up and you will receive different understandings. Are we to say who is right and who is wrong? No. When we study, we must be careful and do not attempt to make the biblical narrative conform to some preconceived framework we bring to it.

If there were people before Adam and Eve, does it change anything? Do we overlook scripture that infers that God did create other people before Adam and Eve? Do we overlook the fowl which the water brought forth on day five doesn't match the fowl God formed out of the ground after He formed Adam out of the dust of the ground when Adam was alone?

Same with the beast of the field formed out of the ground after Adam when the beast of the earth was on day six before man, male and female? Could Adam and Eve be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and have dominion over every living thing that moveth upon the earth that God had created when they were in the garden of Eden?

If we consider, God told them to be fruitful and multiply and have dominion over the earth after they were taken out of the garden, could God have said after day six everything was very good? After the flood, all are descendants of Adam and Eve, so Eve is the mother of all living. The line that leads us the the last Adam Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:45-47 In this, Jesus our Lord said to be the second man, the last Adam, my understanding goes to 1 John 3:8. We must keep in mind who sinned first and is the father of lies John.8:44. The first Adams purpose was more than starting mankind but starting the plan of salvation that is in the second man, the last Adam Jesus Christ, we take off the old man and put on the new man, Colossians 3:8-10.

May the Holy Spirit bring you to your understanding. I pray I do not confuse with my different understanding.

    God bless,

    RLW

Hiya Spence GBU...But Spence you are not understanding spritual things...Gods name is indeed Abraham Isaac and Jacob...Without this Abrahamic trinity there could not have been a nation of ISRAEL...Followed by the 12 tribes...Then the whole nation of ISRAEL...Don'cha see that God almighty offered up his only son Jesus exactly like Abraham offered up his only son Isaac...When God refered to himself as the I AM...Implies an Isarel of God that are I AM'S..Gods as Jesus said to whom the word came it made them Gods...Which implies there is gonna be another Creation in the Spirit...Which are Gods that are gonna be born in us sinners...There are gonna be an Israel of God which are spirits...As Jesus said that which is born of the spirit is spirit as God is spirit.

....The seed of the sower is gonna result in another Creation. That are gonna be born in Us via his seed the living word.As David tells us of a ppl coming that are yet unborn...That has to come and declear his Generation... Psalms 22 : 31...Several of the Prophets saw a ppl coming that wd come from the North Country...Heavenly impling spirits..The H.G. that comes from Christ seed...the word that New Covenant..As we have born the image of the earthy we must also bear ( birth ) the image of the heavenly..When Jesus spoke of the babes and sucklings thats our new innermen the H.G. an Israel of God.They are gonna rule all nations..They are gonna be born in the hearts of the world via the Seed of the Sower.

.....A lil one is gonna become a 1000 and a small one a strong nation.Thats the Israel of God that are gonna be born in us via the seed of Christ...Thats y God Almighty made that great Promise that Christ wd be multiplied as the stars of Heaven..Thats y Jesus said Whosoever receiveth one such Child in my name receiveth ME...That new born babe Peter is telling us about is the H.G . that Child OF Promise. That desires the sincere MILK of the Word..We are just a joint heir with him the H.G. WHO IS LORD OF ALL,.. GAL 4 : 1.

Micah 6:8 sums up the whole duty of man just like Matthew 22 summarizes what is important in the completed witness of the law and the prophets.

    Micah 6:8

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

    Matthew 22

35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Irene 123 pointed out Eccl 12:13, which is also a summation of all that God requires of men.

    Ecclesiastes 12:13

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

    Shawnna,

In Luke 9:51, it says "And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,"

Jesus steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem! The word steadfastly means a fixed established position. When it was time to go and die, He was fixed to go to Jerusalem. You couldn't get Him off track.

This is probably where Paul got his ministry. In Philippians, when he strives for the high calling in Christ Jesus, he has got one thing in mind, one direction in where he heads, and that is the mission for which Christ has sent him for.

Even if a Christian doesn't know what special ministry, or kind of ministry, or even what area God will have you work in, you only have one thing to be fixed on, and that is to grow in the grace and knowledge of your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Period! Nothing else! It is an established fixed position.

In Daniel 1:8, we have the same phrases used for Daniel's decision, that he had fixed and established in his heart that he would not defile himself by eating the food of the Babylonians.

He is a Jew! He was not going to violate the Jewish food laws. And he just determined, he fixed it in his heart. He said I am just not going to do that. It is a determination.

So like you say, Jesus knew His purpose. He knew it was time for Him to go to Jerusalem. And He set His face toward Jerusalem and nothing was going to stop Him!

Why do we celebrate Jesus Birthday on the 25th of December when He doesn't tell us when He was born? We are not suppose to celebrate His Birthday or He would have told us the date He was bprn. Why are we putting a Christmas tree up in our house and decorating it with garland and glass Balls when God plainly tells us

what he is going to do with that tree when he comes and it won't be good. Why are we celebrating Christs birthday on a Pagen Holiday. Why did we follow the Catholic church when they chose Sunday to be the Sabbath day when the Sabbath is clearly on Saturday.

Did Jesus "Back Away" from Jerusalem before entering on a donkey? Did he not want to go into Jerusalem? I heard a preacher say this and I've never heard that before? My belief is that Jesus is GOD and knows all things. Why would he back away. He knew is purpose on earth.

Honoring and obeying all of God's precepts is very important, but seeking to serve God by the letter of the law is not an approved method of true worship and obedience.
  • Marke - In Reply - 3 years ago
Christians are not bound to serve God in the letter of the law, but saints of God throughout human history have been responsible for serving God by seeking to honor and obey all of God's precepts, no matter how many hundreds or more may be listed in the Bible.

Dear "Amy", Thanks for the reminder i did it now, and the answer was: you only think of Jesus you. :) And i thanked Jesus hallelujah, it is up to the Lord now and draw that person to Himself.

Actually, we must leave all this to the Lord. If we are faithful then He is even more so. Praise to the God Almighty, He will have all the glory Amen.

Then He presents it in us so that it becomes an answer to prayer, and we can thank Him even more. We are the witnesses and the faith comes from the preaching. Seize every chance. But we lay our burden on Jesus, who said: Matthew 11:28-30

Be blessed all beloved ppl, in Jesus Name, love u all in Christ. Never forget it, becouse you all are valuable.

The spiritual term for God's commandments is "precepts." We are not told to serve God by the letter of the law but we are always responsible for seeking to honor and obey God's precepts. The KJV translates the same Greek word as "commandments" and "precepts."

    Daniel 9:5

We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:

One OT definition of sin is 'transgression of the written law.' Christians are under a much stricter definition of sin - "whatever is not of faith is sin."

    Romans 14:23

And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
  • Marke - In Reply - 3 years ago
Christians are not told to serve God by the letter of the law and the ten commandments are not stepping stones to heaven or into God's presence. Christians are to serve God in Spirit which means seeking to honor and obey all God's precepts, not just a handful of laws written in stone.

OK. Perhaps the number 6,000 is too strict an interpretation that includes every bit of instruction given in the Bible meant by God to be obeyed. Wikipedia lists more than 600 commands that are what most scholars recognize as God's commandments.

You make reference to the only time the word "sabbath" is found in the NT epistles. Herfe is the verse in context:

    Colossians 2

    13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

    14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

The message here is that God has blotted out the handwriting of ordinances (commandments) for Christians. We don't serve God in the oldness of the letter but in the newness of the Spirit.

    Romans 7:6

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

Therefore, let no man entice you to attempt to serve God by keeping ordinances of meat or drink or respecting OT holy days, new mons, or the sabbaths.
  • Marke - In Reply - 3 years ago
If we love Jesus we will seek to honor and obey the intent of His precepts, not focus on the dead letter of the various commandments.

    2 Corinthians 3:6

Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
