Jesus is literally everywhere , he is in every book . That could actually be a cool thing for you to do if you have never read the Bible . Start at Genesis , read right through the old testament and make a note of anything or one that in any way reminds you of him . The more times you read it the more you will see him . I'm still finding him now and I've been reading every day for a long time now . I just realised that he is the door that the Israelites sprinkled the blood of the Passover lamb on in Exodus . Enjoy .

I bieleve that we are to only address our prayers to Our Heavenly Father ,God , the Holy One of Israel and that we address them to Him through the mediator ship of His Son ,Jesus Christ the Righteous who is our Sinless High Priest in heaven . God is all powerfull and if we want to ask for something or to thank someone it should only ever be Him , He is in charge , He is all powerfull and all blessings and mercies come only from Him . To ascribe any power or glory to any other is idolatry I think .

Please fine you u get to try the Lord on and in His word. In peace I tell you to go out to the whole creation and preach the gospel of Jesus. And you and your house will be saved. Him and see if the Word of God lives in you beloved.

Thank you for mentioning this to me today. I needed this word to remember in the darkness of this world. May we just trust God.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

    17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Love u in Christ friend and never give up in Jesus Holy name.

Hello Sabrina. The Greek word for 'Church' is ekklesia, and this word means, 'an assembly, a congregation, but specifically used of the called out people purchased with Christ's Blood'. We see it used by Stephen in Acts 7:38, where he spoke of the "church in the wilderness", referring to the Israelites who were the special called out people chosen of God to receive His commandments.

But after Jesus died for mankind's sins, all who put their faith in Him to save them from the penalty of their sins, are drawn into His Church by the Holy Spirit. In Colossians 1:18, we read, "And he (Jesus) is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence." This verse alone tells us that the Church is His Body to which He is the Head. It speaks to us vividly that those He has purchased with His Blood are now inseparably part of Him & the Church derives its life, power, eternal existence, & continual hope & longing, because of her Head's constant ministry of Love & Grace. And this Jesus does by the Presence of His Spirit in each of His children.

So, who is the Church? It certainly isn't any particular denomination or sect of Christianity. It isn't any particular assembly of believers as seen in the 'churches' mentioned in Revelation chapters 2 & 3. The true Church of Christ, known as Christ's Body, are those who have been forgiven of their sin, having the Spirit of Christ within, & living according to the dictates of the Spirit. When Jesus comes to take away His Church, we might be surprised as to where the members of His Body come from, because the Church is not a particular group meeting together, but of those saved individuals that comprise the group, the Church.

According to Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the KJV Bible there are three variant Greek words translated devils.

The root word in his Greek dictionary of the New Testament is:

    1142.

    Transliteration daimn (Key)

    Pronunciation dah'-ee-mown

    Part of Speech masculine/feminine noun

Root Word (Etymology) From daio (to distribute fortunes)

a daemon or super-natural spirit (of a bad nature); - devil.

    Matthew 8:31; Mark 5:12; Revelation 16:14; Revelation 18:2.

    1139.

    Transliteration daimonizomai (Key)

    Pronunciation dahee-mon-id'-zom-ahee

    Part of Speech verb

Root Word (Etymology) Middle voice from (G1142)

to be exercised by a daemon;-have a (be vexed with, be possessed with) devil (-s).

    Matthew 4:24; Matthew 8:16; Matthew 8:28; Mark 1:32; Luke 4:36

    1140.

    Transliteration daimonion (Key)

    Pronunciation dahee-mon'-ee-on

    Part of Speech neuter noun

Root Word (Etymology) Neuter of a derivative of (G1142)

a demonic being; by extension a diety:-devil, god.

    Matthew 7:22; Matthew 9:34; Matthew 10:8; Matthew 12:24,27,28; Mark 1:34,39; Mark 3:15,22; Mark 6:13; Mark 9:38; Mark 16:9,17; Luke 4:41; Luke 8:2,27,30,33,35,38; Luke 9:1,49; Luke 10:17; Luke 12:15,18,19,20; Luke 13:32; 1 Corinthians 10:20-21; 1 Timothy 4:1; James 2:19; Revelation 9:20.

demon - The Modern English word demon derives from the Middle English demon: from medieval Latin demon, from Latin daemon, from Greek daimn 'deity, genius'; in demon; also from Latin daemonium 'lesser or evil spirit', from Greek daemonion, diminutive of daimn.

devils - The Modern English word devil derives from the Middle English devel, from the Old English dofol, that in turn represents an early Germanic borrowing of the Latin diabolus.

The KJV translation is not a word for word or uniquely and infallible inspired representation of the Greek New Testament, and we should be cautious in choosing which English words in it we want to make our hills to die on without first consulting the Greek.

    Why the son of man?

    Part 3 of 3.

    Summary

The Son of Man is a title that was used exclusively by Jesus - His disciples never addressed Him as such. Jesus used it to emphasize His humanity. The title goes back to the Book of Daniel where the Son of Man would inherit the everlasting kingdom of God. It is a designation of the Messiah. At His trial Jesus acknowledged that He indeed was the Son of Man - the one who would bring in God's everlasting kingdom. When the religious leaders heard this they accused Him of blasphemy - making Himself equal with God. The purpose of the title seems to be Jesus' own emphasis on His humanity.

    By Don Stewart.

    Side note:

The revelation of the Lord coming by miraculous birth was given to them as a sign by Isaiah. but I guess that didn't explain his humanity. after all Immanuel means God with us. Matthew 1:23.

Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying,

Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.

But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD.

And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14.

I believe Jesus humanity ties to the kinsman redeemer instituted by Moses in Leviticus 25:48-49.

And you also see it carried out in the book of Ruth.

In Revelation 5:2-5. you see John weep because no one was able to loosen the seven seals. For one you had to be worthy and second you had to be a kinsman. "John was looking for a MAN" Jesus humanity qualified him.

    I hope that helps.

    God bless.

    Why the son of man?

    Part 2 of 3.

    Jesus said.

The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born ( Matthew 26:24).

    It Is A Messianic Designation

The title "Son of Man" was a designation for the Messiah. The Book of Daniel predicted that the Son of Man would inherit God's everlasting kingdom.

And behold, one like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought him near before him. Then to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed ( Daniel 7:13,14).

Jesus Employed The Designation At His Trial

When Jesus was on trial and was asked if He were the Messiah, He referred to this prediction:

It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of the power, and coming on the clouds of heaven ( Matthew 26:64).

This statement infuriated the religious rulers. They accused Him of blasphemy for claiming equal authority with God. It was clear to them that Jesus referred to Daniel's prophecy and hence was claiming to be the Messiah.

The Title Emphasizes That He Was Human

It seems by using the title "Son of Man" Jesus wanted to convey the truth that He was entirely human.

    see part 3 of 3.

    Hi Donna.

Thanks to Brother Chris I did some more research on why Jesus referred himself as the son of man in certain instances.

    Part 1.

Jesus' favorite designation, in referring to Himself, was the "Son of Man." The Gospels record some seventy-eight times that Jesus used this title for Himself. For example, when He asked His disciples the question about His identity, He said,

Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am? ( Matthew 16:13).

Though the Bible does not define its exact meaning, the title "Son of Man" probably refers to the fact that Jesus was perfect humanity. He, as God, came down and lived among us as the perfect human being. By doing this, He fulfilled the Law of Moses and did what no other human being was able to do. By using this title, He is identifying with the people He had come to save.

It Is Connected With His Earthly Life

The title is connected with the earthly life of Jesus.

But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins - he said to the paralytic ( Mark 2:10).

    Jesus said

So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath ( Mark 2:28).

    Jesus also said.

And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head ( Matthew 8:20)

Jesus gave the reason for His coming to earth.

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost ( Luke 19:10).

It Is Connected With His Sufferings

"Son of Man" is also connected with the sufferings of Jesus on behalf of humanity.

And he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again ( Mark 8:31).

This Speaks Of His Exaltation And Rule

The title "Son of Man" also has to do with his exaltation and rule over humanity.

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory ( Matthew 25:31).

Thank you Mya. I see your point. I was meaning that they needed to be strengthened for battle and for the 40 years of wandering. In Egypt they most likely went home each night and rested for the next day. The wilderness journey included all-nighters and the need for stamina for the long term. But I do admit that the men were probably strong because they were the workers of the brick making most likely. The women perhaps had other assignments, so may have needed to gain strength for the journey. It is interesting that when things got hard in the wilderness the Israelites complained and said that it would be better to be back in Egypt. That is why I said that they needed to be made stronger.

    Hello, Chris

Adam and Eve we free to eat the fruit of every other tree but the one of the knowledge of good and evil. So it is most likely they ate from these other trees before they ate from the forbidden tree, We do not know which fruit they ate first.

    Dear Ruth

In essence, praying to anyone but God is idolatry. You can certainly ask for prayer from people you know as long as they are alive in this world. but not people who have died and believed to be in heaven.

The Word says that"there is one mediator between God and man". ( 1 Timothy 2:5-6) That person is Jesus Christ, no one else, not mary, nor saint, nor loved one that has died, no statue. He is very happy to hear your prayers. He brings them before the Father and they give you the best answers to every one of them. No one else can do this.

So be assured, Jesus is sufficient for us. We have no need to turn to anyone else with our prayers or give our hearts to. Mary and they are believers just like us. God used them for His purpose and worked through them like He does with us. Their work on earth is completed now that they have died. In the resurrection we will see them and have conversations with them and maybe even have "work" to do with them in heaven in obedience to God.

But for us in this life still, we best stay away from any kind of attempts to contact those who have died.

Hi Patricia. In Greek, the word is 'daimonion', and the words 'devils, demons, evil spirits' can be equally used with confidence without fear of corrupting the text.

True prayer is incense that rises to God the Father, presented and made acceptable through Jesus Christ our High Priest and lit aflame, expressed beyond words and taught by the Holy Spirit within hearts of the priesthood of believers in Christ. Like the incense offered to God in the Mosaic law, the incense offered in the tabernacle and later in the Temple was forbidden from being made or offered in any other context than God's appointed worship, his appointed priesthood, and in the appoint manner prescribed.

Prayer is made in the name of Jesus, who again makes our prayers acceptable to God the Father and who also interceded for us both in heaven and through the mind of the Spirit. The biblical saints and Mary are fellow members of the priesthood of believers and prayed in the same manner.

The assignment of powers to answer prayers in specific realms of life to saints and Mary as the so called queen of heaven is a thinly veiled transference of pagan polytheism under their pagan names to the names of saints and particularly Mary.

The acceptance of Christianity by Constantine caused a sudden influx of vast numbers of pagans with no interest in leaving behind their pagan roots, who only wanted to maintain their political and religious standing under their current Emporor. They easily incorporated their pagan forms into the church under new names, as they had done in renaming them when they went from Greek to Roman rule before. Mixing in elements of Christianity to legitimize their pagan hearts was a form of deceit they were very well versed in as they had blended old forms of paganism with new forms under other national and political regimes before. If persecution had been the devil's primary method of tempting and testing the church before, the seeming legitimization of Christainity in the pagan world brought in new temptations and testing as the devil shifted strategies over to the legitimization of the pagan world in the church.
