    Hi Brother Dan.

    Part 1 of ?

    Your quote:

"Whatever Jesus/God spoke to the Israelites are also spoken to us Gentiles, and we are just as accountable to adhere to these commands today. Why? Because those of us in Christ are now Israelites and we were once Gentiles but the grafting process through Jesus Christ has changed us so that we have become Jews inwardly. Paul tells us below we are now of Abrahams seed." End quote.

your reference scriptures are in Galatians 3:29. and Romans 2:29.

Let's deal with the grafting in first.

You would have to go to Romans 10 to put it into perspective.

Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth. Romans 10:1-4.

    NOTE:

Christ is the goal! the Law was given to bring Man to Christ. He said, "I didn't come to patch up an old garment, I came to give you a new garment." (The robe of his righteousness)

    Continuing-

    Look here in Romans 11:1-9.

    Notice verses 5-7.

(Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise, grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise, work is no more work.

What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded)

    verses 8-9.

(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

And David saith, let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:

We will come back to stumblingblock.

    see Part 2.

Bro. Dan i love ya...GBU...But ya gotta realize that we are in New Covenant....And its NOT according to the old levitical Priesthood, now its acccording to what Jesus is Saying...He wants everyday Holy not just Saturday...Notice that ALL his disciples followed Jesus every day...It was akin to a marriage,...He said he was the true vine and they were the branches and they wd have to abide in him every day 24/7...Or they wd wither and die...He was impling they had to abide in him forever like a branch and a great tree of life and if the branches were separated at any time they wd wither and die...This abide in me and i in you was a New Covenant,...They wd have to leave wife and Children and everything..Forsake all and follow him...They cd not worship him in any kind of a limited fashion...Unless you forsake all and follow me you cannot be my disciple...The branches had to abide in the vine 24/7 .Not just 1 day a week...This new covenant is a marriage covenant...John the Bap. told the Pharisees when they ask about Christ and his disciples that he that has the bride is the bridegroom....Under this New Covenant nothin less then 100 % of their cooperation was acceptable...All their hearts all their minds all of their strenght etc...I.E. under this New Covenant every day was the Sabbath day...And the last day is a 1000 yr day when Jesus will reign on this earth....Jesus said that if anyman love wife and children or family more then me they are not worthy of me....God himself wd have to put his spirit in a man to make him wanna follow the Christ with all his heart and minds etc...Leaving his wife and Children etc....

Remember David saw the whole world at REST nd full of his Glory.

    Hi Sister Charrisse,

Thanks for your great post today, Saturday, the Holy Sabbath Day. It's so nice to hear that you observe God's Sabbath Day.

I also believe that Christians can go to church/worship any day of the week, or everyday if they desire. We can fellowship/worship in a house, on line, in a parking lot, in a park, or anywhere where 2 or more meet to praise God Jesus tells us: Matthew 18:20

"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

Back to the Sabbath. I observe the Sabbath on Saturday, and I truly believe it is a great gift from God to mankind! There are so many wonderful blessings that we can receive by honoring and keeping Holy this day. I've listed below many great reasons to help encourage others.

    1. God commands us to keep the Sabbath

    2. The Holy Sabbath is God's sign to His People

    3. Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath

    4. Jesus Kept the Sabbath

    5. We should obey God rather than men

    6. The apostles and the first century church kept the Sabbath

    7. The Sabbath reminds us of who our creator is

    8. The Sabbath provides us with mental and physical rest

    9. The Sabbath helps to deepen our faith

    10. The Sabbath strengthens our relationships, with family, and brethren

    11. The Sabbath brings us closer to God

    12. The Sabbath provides dedicated time to draw closer to God.

    13. The Sabbath provides us additional blessings from God

    14. When we observe the Sabbath we also let our working animals rest on this day

    15. The Sabbath reminds us to help others

    16. The Sabbath reminds us to not be a part of this world!

    17. When we observe the Sabbath we show God that we are submissive and obedient to HIM.

    18. We observe the Sabbath because we LOVE Jesus/God!

The Holy Sabbath Day is a wonderful gift from God to us. Even Jesus tells us he is the Lord of the Sabbath. He wouldn't want to be Lord of something that is not good!

Happy Sabbath Day, and God Bless!

Does the ten commandments apply to all including gentiles? According to the ten commandments the 4th cmmandment sabbath day be observed. But nearly 99 percent of the churches observe the frist day of the week Sunday which is not in the scripture. One most respected Bible preacher/teacher the ten commadment only applied to the Jews until the cross Lord Jesus died on the cross. Yet John 14 Jesus said if you love me keep my commandments. How do we reconcile which is which? As you know the 7th day adventist keep the the 4th commandment. But according to the highly respected preachers/teachers the Adventist doctrine is not correct. I have experienced this is one example most protestant church preachers in my opinion they do not seem to know the bible at all which described simillarly in the Hosea " my people are destroyed due to lack of knowledge". The preacher explains simply the prophecy is on schedule the Old Testament to the Cross, the church age, the tribulation/the rapture, and the millenium makes a great deal of sense unlike other the majority of preachers evangelical/protestants in my oipnion one cannot learn the bible correctly, that is, they do not seem to know the bible at all just circling around meaning Jesus said the blind cannot lead the blind because they do not see. More significantly the book of Hosea described my people are destroyed due to the lack of knoweledge.

    ACTS Chapter 1: 4

4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

Jesus did not just request, suggest, or simply invite the disciples to wait until they receive the promise of the Father. He COMMANDED THEM TO WAIT!!!

I could even suggest this to be the eleventh (11th) commandment of God!

IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT!!!! The same importance as the 10 Commandments!

    Dear Charrisse,

Thank you for listing the Commandments in the proper order per the KJV. I'm sorry, I did not list them in the proper order, and in an abbreviated fashion, but hopefully included the entire scope in the list.

I agree, we as Christ followers, are tasked by Jesus/God to try our best to follow His Commandments. There is overwhelming bible scripture confirming this requirement.

One of the most powerful scriptures in the entire bible; John 14:15 Here, Jesus tells us point blank, if we love him To keep His Commandments!!! This makes it easy for Jesus to quickly seperate His Sheep from the rest of the herd.

    God Bless.

Conceptualizing the forgiveness of sin is the boundary ,the very wall that separates man from God!

The idea that we are sinners, sin filled, a natural condition, some might say we can overcome by good works!

Scripture does agree that we establish our faith through our works, however these acts cannot change the absolute requirements of God the Father.

Perfect righteousness can only come from knowing Him.

This knowledge is the completeness and righteousness needed to stand before the creator! A knowledge that is born out of faith!

Seeking out that which is already accomplished in the scriptures, where we find the meaning of "ye might think ye have eternal life", these are they which testify of me! While the word is the complete consolation in and through His Son Jesus Christ, we are given the freedom and liberty to be led by His Holy Spirit in the things that concern life now, and into eternal life .Spirituality, living in your thoughts with each passing moment of time! With only the short time we have , one who lives this life will see the speed of light, how the days are no more days, but only one day!

How a thousand years can pass so quickly!

The spiritual will confirm itself. This is the life that we do not see, because of the sin boundary.

Never judge according to what you see, but make righteous judgment!

One day with the Lord is as a thousand years!

This chapter gives the infamous command for Abraham to sacrifice his only son; the son which encompassed so many promises of God already related to future descendants and seemingly end it through this action. If anything else; Abraham's maturity of faith was great enough to accept this without any attempt to change things or resist God. His commentary at least seemed to suggest with his son and the two young men assisting that he would return afterwards with Isaac. Whether this was for their benefit not to panic or his own assurance God would be faithful or both we are not told. To have enough faith to expect and trust the Lord to provide some last minute reprieve held out until the end. The gig was up once Isaac was bound; and it is noteworthy that he didn't protest either. Only a supernatural Resurrection is what some suggest they believed would save the day; as it turned out as the knife and physically initiated the killing he was stopped before it reached him; and the ram in the thickets was used instead. God's swearing to him reiterated blessings; and also multiplying his seed as the stars of heaven (v. 17) along with military victories promised. There was further provision already in the works when he learned of his brother Nahor's offspring through an unknown source.
  • Richard H Priday on Genesis 20 - 3 years ago
This chapter repeats the error that Abraham consented to with his wife in his earlier travels "down south". Apparently, after all of God's promises of granting him an heir through His wife he still wasn't convinced that he didn't have to make up some narrative going into foreign lands so that he wasn't killed for his wife's sake. Sarah must have been a very beautiful woman of 90 something at that time. The custom at that time was to have more than one wife; and apparently there was little formality other than taking someone in who a king would desire to complete that process. The plagues that are threatened included closing up the wombs of the King of Abimalech's wife and maidservants; so this was a rather lengthy stay until this dream and realization occurred. The "agreement" which Abraham made likely had many similar scenarios to the two chapters covering it in Genesis as apparently WHEREVER he went she was expected to consent to this spineless request; essentially putting her in a compromised position to being violated to save his skin. In any event; because it was God's prophet he ended up being better off materially after this event than before. Sarah herself was reproved by the PAGAN king and he was prayed for to restore the childbearing afterwards. After this Isaac was finally born; and her status as a mother could no longer be hidden. In any event; this shows God's patience with our obstinate tendencies to rely on the flesh to accomplish His purposes. Her act of complicity was finally exposed as well.

Here we go again. LOL. In the garden, God allowed us to have dominion over all of creation. Thus in today's world, we don't think about that. We set out traps for mice because of several reasons. Fear, afraid of disease, destructions of these little fellows, so forth and so on. They are a creation from God also and God viewed all of his creation "good." Now we are on top of the totem pole and if we don't like something, we get rid of it. How many ants do you step on each time you go out into the yard and never give it any thought whatsoever. Oh, they are just ants. Oh, they are just pesty little mice. Why this decision? If we are so proud that we have control over everything, what make anyone think that God as creator does have any decision as to what he wishes to happen. Also remember that this body is just a tabenacle for a short time. Our life is temporary in a journey. We must look at the future rather than the here and now. However, while we are here, we must do the work of the Father. I don't think anyone should worry about their opinion of how God works in our lives. To us this mortal being is to precious in the here and now rather that in the presense of God. Another thing to remember is that while they were moving the ark it was not being moved as directed by God. It was to be carried with poles and not transport by the means of a cart.

    Hi Ben,

Regarding 1 Chronicles 13:9-12, the question of why seems fair, but your second sentence sounds like you already drew a conclusion about God. That part seems unfair and assuming and I noticed you wrote God's name in lower case.

So, by the limited information you read, maybe you perceived a certain character about God, but what if your assumptions are wrong? God knew Uzza's heart and knew if he was intentionally disobeying or not, whether he was disrespecting God's rules, or whether he was distrusting God. This reminds me of when Moses disobeyed and struck the rock with his staff- doing things his own way, rather than God's way, whether through lack of faith, stubbornness, a rebelious nature, or other motive. So, while this passage didn't go into detail about his heart and motives, I think it's logical that the man intentionally disobeyed and disrespected God.

Have you ever been wronged and someone falsely accused you and drew the wrong conclusion, because they didn't have the full story? Maybe you didn't like being accused or wrongly judged? What if your assumption about God in this context is the same thing? This event is only mentioned in 2 sentences (v8 and v9) and there was likely more to it, such as Uzza's motives.

So the question is how does that make God the 'bad guy' when someone violates God's rules? Why would your compassion fall upon the lawbreaker instead of the lawgiver? Also, we don't have any other information about Uzza's afterlife. I believe God is a fair judge and knows our heart. And I think verses that say to fear God is real and just as stated in this story I think its risky to disrespect and assume false motives upon anyone, especially about God.
  • Chris - In Reply - 3 years ago
Charrisse. You may care to look at those two Scriptures particularly in the Greek ( Ephesians 2:15 & Colossians 2:14). I believe that you're focussing of the words, "the law of commandments contained in ordinances" and "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances".

The same Greek word is used in both instances for 'ordinances', viz. "dogmasin", from which we get, 'dogma'. And in these Scriptures, it is translated as 'decrees or edicts'. So when we read these Scriptures by the apostle, the 'law of commandments & handwriting of ordinances' did not apply solely to the ceremonial laws & of the sacrifices which indeed Christ fulfilled at the Cross, but also to the whole Law that was "blotted out" completely. It had to be so, or else the old Law would still stand, the Jew would have to be bound to it & hence judged by it. But Jesus came to rid the Law that only showed one's sin & brought certain death. By His Sacrifice, the old had gone & the new had come, that from henceforth, "we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter." ( Romans 7:6). Yet, most Jews are still bound to the old Law & by it they will be judged.

Yes, there is a distinction in the moral, civil & ceremonial laws, as seen in the OT. But when the New Covenant was brought in by Christ's Blood, the old Law in totality was annulled - it had to be as both the old & new opposed each other by their: giving, obedience, acceptance & judgement (i.e. received by faith, given power to obey, our acceptance through Christ, & now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus). Under the old Law that could never be achieved & that's why it took the death of the Son of God.

I did that ones grafting process, It was very successful. The tree did not grow more than it should. So the root actually agreed with the branches. So with them we have become a new branch, is not? But as in New Testament times, we have the same level now. The Jews are a group in their own right, but will harvest from the same tree.

Because we have the same Holy Spirit. Our dear Paul was given the task of going to the "Gentiles", therefore the Gentiles are no longer called Gentiles. Because we grow on the same tree. Can we really imagine what Grace God has really given us?

My heart overflows with gratitude, and brethren rejoice. For the whole male race is hard as horn and strong as oxen. So remember the weaker guys where you are. They are so valuable because their hearts are humble and natural, full of care and love. That is why He created us as man and woman.

God bless us all 1 John chapter 3.

Hello Charrisse. If I may add for those here who might be unaware of this author whom you promote: A. Jan Marcussen is a Seventh Day Adventist Minister who is best known for his 1983 book "National Sunday Law". This book has been described as a "condensed version" of Ellen G. White's view in "The Great Controversy". And most of us should have heard of of E.G. White.

    Genesis 38

    6. And Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, whose name was Tamar.

    7. And Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD slew him.

    8. And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.

    9. And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he SPILLED IT on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.

    10. And the thing which he did displeased the Lord.

There was a custom that if a brother die, his widow could conceive a child through his brother. The line of seed would continue. But this remaining brother refused to participate. He went in unto her, but he did not complete the act of impregnating her. He spilled it on the ground. He died, because it displeased God.

This shows us, that in sexual matters, God sees our intentions. The "marriage bed" is undefiled.

    Titus 1:15

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

Bottom line: it's better to be married; than self-gratifying. These days media demands that we satisfy ourselves, with beauty and power. May we always ask God for a suitable mate.

Thank you Cecil. I'm sure your studies in the prophecies have been increasingly fruitful as it has progressed over time. And as I stated earlier, my knowledge of the prophecies is simply based on what is given in the Word & whether their fulfilment is imminent, still in the future, or even have a dual occurrence. Any more than that I find gets me into areas of increasing uncertainty leading into error. If you are clear in your understanding & interpretation, that is to your benefit & to those who can join you in it. I cannot be swerved, not because of your interpretation, but because this part of the prophecy is still future & nothing is so clear within them to give me certainties (i.e. which countries involved, order of falling out of events, even the correct division of the Revelation). Maybe, I just haven't given more time to it, due to the lack of specifics.

So, I really can't respond to your questions, except to say, that "my strong opinion" is based on the Scriptures as given (no interpretation from me) - if there is another meaning or application to them, then that will have to be spiritually discerned. But you mentioned that "God re-establishes Israel with the saints". To this I agree that together we will one day all be one, under one God & one Saviour, & I see nothing in the Trumpet Judgements to correlate with this coming together.

Thank you for your time & input Cecil - maybe your comments will engender other more profitable responses than mine. Blessings.

I also observe Sabbath on Saturdays. Luke 4:16 as provided in one of your replies is also advising when the Lord's Day is. As for those who worship on Sundays, I feel they had been lead to believe a false belief that Sunday is the Lords Day. I have come by this false belief through bible study and reading the Lords Word KJV as well as other material. National Sunday Law by A Jan Marcussen is a read many people of FAITH should take the time to read. It will explain "Who, How and When" the Sabbath was changed to a Sunday. It is not a secret and you are able to refer to what is written to the Lords Word and writings/ Bibliography. it is a constitution from Emperor Constantine who introduced Sunday Worship as Law in 321 A.D, is the earliest recognition of Sunday as a legal duty. Here are a couple of the references you can go to. The Latin original is in the Codes Justinian (Codes of Justinian), lib 3, title 12, lex. 3, Philip Schaff's, History of the Christian Church, Vol 3 3d period, chapter 7, sec 75 pg 380, footnote 1. The last days is near and there are so many Christians who have been mislead and given false scriptures and teachings that it breaks my heart and also our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Daniel 7:25

And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

    Ezekiel 20:12,

Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

    Ezekiel 20:16

Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.

    Happy Sabbath

A little off topic, but I wonder if Paul knew that Moses was a murderer? Exodus 2:11-15

In his retelling of Moses's killing of the Egyptian in Acts 7:23-29, Luke casts Moses in the image of Jesus, as a rejected deliverer. What's that called when govt does that same thing with their fallen heroes?

The Israelites' rejection of Moses, which Luke reads into Exodus 2:11-15, is placed in parallel to the Jews' rejection of Jesus, which is understood as the crux of Christianity's break from Judaism.
