    Hi again Brother Dan.

Philippians 2:12. This verse speaks of ongoing obedience for those already saved. It's crucial to note that Paul is not telling them to work for their salvation. This statement implies a need to live out-to practice, demonstrate, and exhibit-the salvation which believers have in Christ.

The Greek word for "work out" is katergazomai and it can mean "to perform, it is a present tense command. so if you take that and verse 13, You are to "present that which is being worked in you."

Here's how it reads, It's one sentence. And verse 13 is very important!

"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Vs 13)- FOR IT IS GOD WHICH WORKETH IN YOU BOTH TO WILL AND TO DO OF HIS GOOD PLEASURE."

You have to have salvation IN you to work it OUT you.

Anytime we add anything to the finish work on the cross we fall from Grace!

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

    Galatians 5:4.

You and I agree on some things but where we are divided is one word.

"Requirement" I hold the view that the keeping of the law is not required for salvation. It's the Spirit in us that urges us to put forward the effort of obedience.

With the mindset that one would have to keep the law for salvation contradicts the sabbath rest they're trying to keep when we examine what that rest is.

    God bless.

    Revelation

When you first read Revelation, it may seem mixed-up, and hard to understand. We must understand it is not a chronological record of events from start to finish or it will be impossible to grasp. It's not linear, it's broken up with visions nested within visions and there are different accounts of the same events.

Like in these chapters, chapter 6, chapter 11, and chapter 16, in these chapters they are describing the same events that occur immediately after the Tribulation. These correspond with Matthew 24:29 and Ezekiel 38:18-32, this is after the tribulation, which starts when Satan is cast out of heaven and down to earth Revelation 12 and gives his power, seat, and authority to the beast that arises out of the bottomless pit.

This is just a small example, but may it help in the study of Revelation and there are not seven years but three and one-half years. Many are looking for an antichrist but there are four, Satan, the beast that arises out of the bottomless pit, the false prophet, and the harlot city Babylon. All will play a part in the times coming. After the battle of Armageddon, the kingdom will be set up with the camp of the saints in the beloved city, and Jesus will be there.

    God bless,

Rahab Saves the Spies and Saves Her Family

A Canaanite woman living in Jericho, Rahab is a prostitute who is also a biblical heroine. According to the narrative in Joshua 2, before the conquest of Canaan, Joshua sends two men as spies to see the land. They come to Rahab's house for lodging, information. The king, hearing about the two men, demands that Rahab give them up. Like the midwives in Egypt, Rahab is faced with a "moment of truth." Like them, Rahab defies the ruler and rescues the Israelites. She tells the king's men that the two men have left and that the king's men should chase them. Meanwhile, she has hidden the men under the flax drying on her roof (2:4); the writer uses the unusual word tizpeno, "she hid him" (even though there are two men), perhaps as an allusion to Exod 2:2, where Moses's mother hides her newborn (tizpenehu). Rahab is midwife and mother to Israel in its beginnings in Canaan.

Rahab lets the two men out through her window, which is in the town wall. She requests a return for her act of esed (NJPS, "I have shown loyalty"). She asks that she and her family be spared once the Israelites attack Jericho. The spies give her a crimson thread to hang from her window, with the injunction that she is to gather her family and wait inside her house; as long as they stay indoors, they will be spared. When the Israelites destroy Jericho, as described in Joshua, Rahab and her whole extended family indeed escape doom by waiting inside a house marked with a red thread, just as the Israelites who stayed in houses marked with the blood of the paschal lamb were spared the fate of the Egyptians. They are exempted from the erem, Israel's obligation to destroy all Canaanites (see 6:17), and are brought out of the city to live among the Israelites (6:25). Rahab and her family are a new Israel.

    James,

This is a remarkable capture of the day of the Lord missile strike on US of Babylon. How the missiles are described so 21st century is uncanny. Advanced, Hypersonic, unstoppable. if you have seen a sub fire off 6 missiles, they all go on their own separate paths, unrestricted. They enter in the windows like a thief. Like Jesus thief, coming with His beast army to lay the land desolate. A Russian promo video shows Sarmat dropping Mach 20 warheads over Florida. That fits perfectly "from the south to the north" ( Ezekiel 21:4). The 6th trumpet attack is depicted from the "south to the north", also referred to as "whirlwinds in the south". Mystery Babylon is attacked from the south to the north.

    ( Joel 2:4-11)

4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.

5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.

6 Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.

7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:

8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.

9 They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.

10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Israel of God, the Children of God, are a Spiritual Race, not a physical ethnic race. How can we be sure?

    "God is a Spirit"

    John 4:24

"... Israel is My son; even My first-born:"

    Exod. 4:22

If God is a Spirit, His children must be of the Spirit; not a physical race of people who are centralized in one place in the world. God told us He would strike the Shepherd (Jesus) and the sheep would be scattered. The Israel/Children of God are among every race and in every corner of the world.

"... They which are the children of THE FLESH, these are NOT THE CHILDREN OF GOD: ..."

    Rom. 9:8

The Children of the Spirit are of God; THEY are the True Israel.

The Day of the Lord in Joel is the same as in Isaiah 13:9-11 & Matt. 24:29-31. It is the Wrath of God, final day judgment. Jesus returns on the very last day of the world which eliminates the possibility of a Millennium period BEFORE these things take place.

Jesus tells us in John 6:39, 40, 44, 54; John 11:24 & John 12:48 that He is coming on the Last Day of the world. That is the SAME DAY that the Wrath of God takes place. That's why it is called the Lord's (Jesus') Day.

These verses coincide perfectly with the Matt. and Isaiah verses above.

"A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, ..."

    Joel 2:2

"The earth shall quake ... the heavens shall tremble: the sun and moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: And the Lord shall utter His voice before His army: for the Day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?"

    Joel 2:10-11

"...let the Bridegroom go forth of His chamber, and the bride out of her closet. (this is Jesus returning for His saints on the same day as the Wrath of God/Day of the Lord - coincides perfectly with Matt. 24:29-31)

"The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible Day of the Lord come."

    Joel 2:31

There is no place for 1,000 yrs between Jesus' return and the Wrath of God. It does not fit.

    SolaScript,

Q: Would God have His people endure this life only to have them wait another 1,000 years?

A: Yes, all people contributed to ruining the planet, they must wait their time, and follow the order like they follow their Bibles.

The 1st resurrection is only for the sealed saints, the only ones that qualify. You cannot show definitive Biblical proof, or otherwise that Christian's, by virtue of their faith, should qualify as a first fruit. People say "what about 1 Thessalonians 4:17"? I say Paul is addressing his kind, "the elect", "the elders". Same goes for God warning not to take the mark of the beast, that's not exactly for regular people, no, it's for the saints, so that the elect might be fooled by anti-christ if possible. I honestly don't know anyone, with a family, who could choose death over the soup line. I believe the scavenges of war will equate to death, and for some, better than the mark.

Ultimately, during the millennium, let the saints deal with it, they were chosen because they are exceptional. The sleeping 2nd group, bound for the Great White throne, will not have missed a thing during their hibernation phase.

I think about the new heavens and new earth more than that them not being possible. But I do know the 1,000 year workers did a remarkable job preparing the earth for God to join us as one.

The promise verses the law! If you could see the time frame, from Abraham to Moses you would see a nation falling away generation after generation. The waxing away of the hope set before the children of God! The children lost a little bit at a time. Not unlike the faith we fight for, a faith satan wishes to destroy. I cannot fathom how sin can destroy the nation, while it destroys the soul! Hold on , while the world continues in sin, those who wait on God will be saved! These are the promises made unto Abraham, even BEFORE the law of Moses! Imagine living in the promises of God! Repent and be Baptized

    Hi GIGI

Regarding the Sabbath scripturally, this is directly from God.

Exodus 20:8-11 "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy." Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

I understand what you have shared, that many people interpret the Sabbath in various ways. Some don't even try to remember it or follow it at all.

Personally, I regard it as a very important day to observe. More important than any other day of the week. It is a command from God, and one of the great commandment's. He gave it to man as a gift. It should not be a hinderance. The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

God want's us to rest one day a week. He also wants us to give others a day of rest. Look how crazy this non-stop world goes 24/7/365 days a year.

I observe Saturday's. If other's occupations require them to work on Saturday, I'm sure God would understand if they observe another day. I think the key is to observe the Sabbath and rest. Jesus also instructed that we can help others in need on the Sabbath, we can go to church or fellowship, like Jesus did visiting the synagogues, spend time with family, quite time to meditate, pray, and give thanks. Go to Hospitals to visit others, help feed others in the food pantry etc. etc. It is a day to take a break from your regular work, this is not a day to make money or try to get yourself ahead. This is a day that will hopefully bring us closer to God!

I look forward to Saturday's just for these vary reasons, it's a wonderful gift to me!

    God Bless.

Addendum: I meant to say if Adam hadn't fallen into sin; there would have been an extended Edenic type of world; which the Millennium essentially is. It is a time of great abundance; and wealth among all earth dwellers. Verses indicate the Temple where it appears ceremonial cleansing and a reminder of Christ's sacrifice occurs and as stated before a voluntary yearly appearance occurs. Clearly; an option for drought for a nation that doesn't appear wouldn't occur in the eternal reign when such possibility of sin won't exist. In terms of Israel as well; there are territorial promises which were not fully realized but will be in the future when the WHOLE Promised land will be part of greater Israel. I agree that the removal of the church in Thessalonians will be the reason that Antichrist can finally be revealed. However; there will certainly be the largest revival ever as seen in the number of martyrs NOT taking the mark then. God will still work but it will revert back to the Prophetic and "signs and wonders" gifts with the two Prophets. We need also to remember the NUMEROUS passages where God uses judgments to bring the fear of God on some men; and in particular the time of Jacob's Trouble so that He can refine His people "seven times over" as Deuteronomy states. Others; of course as in all epochs will simply harden their unregenerate hearts even further. In Revelation 20; there are no great spiritual contests; or any of the lengthy processes such as the seal; trumpet and bowl judgments where MONTHS are involved as in the 5th Trumpet. There is IMMEDIATE destruction by fire from heaven; then the earth and it's elements are burned up and no more place is found for death and hell. The battle here is due to envy of God's camp; Satan himself rather than demons entices the earth for a short time; he is no longer veiled living inside someone else but seen for who he is. This gets rid of all rebels born to those few surviving the Tribulation.
  • Richard H Priday - In Reply - 4 years ago
The other verses such as that in Isaiah are hard to justify with such a logic. We also have Peter's statement that a day with the Lord is like 1000 years. Such would allow the last day in a 7000 year existence of earth to end with a day of overall rest; or Sabbath day; which likely was what should have occurred before Adam's death (and the curiously close lifespan of a couple other individuals around that time). The Day of the Lord sometimes is actually used to justify your understanding; but if we see that Day as encompassing the entire period from the end of the Tribulation to the end of the Millennium; it makes more sense. As Corinthians states the order is Christ; the firstfruits and those that are there at His coming. THEN comes the end ( 1 Cor. 15:24)when he HANDS OVER THE KINGDOM TO GOD THE FATHER AFTER He has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.

Christ is going to rule over the earth with David; and all saints as many scriptures indicate. Men have to "learn the art of war no more" if anything to prove their rebellion is not because of any conditions on the earth--the end result is simply an expression of their hearts which were suppressed curing Christ's reign with an "iron rod". Surely, God won't have to rule this way when only saints rule the earth who have no possibility to sin. We need to keep in mind that the true Church and all believers will not be hurt at all by the second death; nor will Satan be able to cause the wholesale slaughter in the final battle in Rev. 20. He will be engulfed with fire; again joining the Beast and False Prophet who are THERE in the lake of fire since they were tossed there 1000 years earlier (that corresponds; BTW to the verse in Isaiah 14 where Antichrist is cast out as an "abominable branch" and unlike the kings who are buried isn't given that honor-that of course includes those kings who are punished "after many days" also mentioned in that book. After Armageddon; God's children won't be persecuted.

    Grae,

Christ did save us but we have to indeed repent of our sins! Believing without repenting is useless. We must be born again and live anew!

I agree we are all sinners to some degree. So does that mean we should NOT strive to be sin free? Jesus believes we can stop sinning, if not, why would he instruct the adulteress to "sin no more" in this scripture below:

    John 8:11

"She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."

Below, Jesus told the invalid that he just healed to "stop sinning" or something worse would happen to him.

    John 5:14

"Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee."

Why would Jesus tell these people to stop sinning if he didn't feel they could do it? The answer is that with His help and His Holy Spirit we can overcome much sin!

    Read and believe!

If we cd keep the whole law it wd not compare to what he did at Calvary....Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins

of the world...And it was God Almighty that was behind this new covenant and the Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world.

David was a man after Gods own heart...But the LAW cd NOT help David when he saw Bathsheba bathin...David said in sin did my mother conceive me...There was none righteous no not one...The law was Screaming mankind needs a heart transplant...a new Birth....etc.

    My question is this.

Scripturally, what constitutes keeping the Sabbath day holy? Is it the requirements in the OT law? Is it setting a day aside for complete rest from work? Is it setting apart the Lord God in our hearts and always being ready to give a defense to everyone who asks us a reason for the hope that in us...(see 1Peter 3:15)? Is it giving time each day for prayer and study of the Bible?

I ask these because I know many people will give various answers to my question about what constitutes keeping the Sabbath. I have not seen any instructions in the NT about how believers are to keep the Sabbath holy. I want to be obedient to God's ways, but perhaps this is a matter of keeping the spirit of the law and not the letter.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Thank you, Sola Scrip,

Well said. We who have the Spirit and God's overabounding grace can follow these commands better than those who do not believe, as they do not have the power from the Spirit or of grace to strengthen them and allow them to be determined to say "no" to sin and "yes" to what is good and right like we do.

However, because we still have a sinful nature, we can never keep the commandments perfectly like Jesus did. He did not have a sinful nature and always chose to God's will. We are not like that by a long shot. Even so, we are called to live godly lives and we can do this with the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit and the love of God filling us to overflowing. We are to be Christ's witnesses by telling of Him AND by living by the Spirit, fulfilling the law of godliness He teaches us and enables us to obey.

We r totally unable to save ourselves and we cannot b saved by the law . Galatians tells us everything we need to know about the law . We r dependant on God's mercy . Christ has saved us . We cannot stop sinning even after we know the Gospel . To offend another Christian is a sin , to lust after anything that we don't need or that someone else has and we don't is sin , to limit God is a sin , to doubt one of God's words is sin , the list is endless . Christ has saved us from ourselves . The law condemns us because we r unable to fulfill it all perfectly no matter how hard we try and our hearts condemn us because we r weak sinful flesh and nothing more . By God's grace we r saved , it's not of ourselves . Thank you Alex .

David didn't stop sinning . He loved God very much , however he was unable to b sinless and had to rely on God's mercy , even though he was under the law , which he broke more than a few times , the law didn't save him . God forgave him because He knew that David loved Him , genuinely loved God . God says : I will have mercy , not sacrifice .

Jesus Christ obeyed all the 10 Commandments His entire life. John 15:10 If He had not, He would not have been 100% SINLESS (without blemish) and His sacrifice would not have been so powerful to accomplish all that it did.

We are to walk just as Jesus walked. 1 John 2:6

When we take His Spirit into us, that is the same event as us receiving a new heart - spoken of in Ezekiel 36:26-27. Look closely at those verses. "I will ... CAUSE you to walk in My statutes, and ye SHALL keep My judgments, and do them."

Christ observed the 7th Day Sabbath every week of His life and it is the 4th Commandment. We are to do the same.

Resting in the security of His providence is a good thing to do, but it is not a substitute for the Sabbath Day of rest instituted at Creation Week - because none of the Commandments have ever been repealed. Gen. 2:2-3 God blessed and sanctified only one day ever, and what God blesses cannot be reversed. Num. 23:20

It is the only day He ever claimed to be HIS Day. Isaiah 58:13 It is the GENUINE Lord's Day that John refers to in Rev. 1:10. There is no other reference anywhere in scripture to that term and the Isaiah verse identifies which day that is.
  • Raymond Kelly - In Reply - 4 years ago
It is all over the bible. The 1000 year period you speak of in ignorance is not a doctrine and it is referred to as "The Lord's day. That should help you if you are serious about gaining wisdom.

Righteousness does not come by the Law.

And nobody has claimed that it does.

Righteousness comes by Jesus Christ, specifically by His Spirit which empowers/enables His followers to obey the Commandments.

It is also NOT 'works salvation' to obey the 10 Commandments when it is the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ who is doing the work. We are not capable of obeying by ourselves, but His Spirit has already lived a physical lifetime of obeying all the Commandments of God Almighty. John 15:10 And it is 'primed' to do that for us, combined with our trust in Him and our submission to His will.

I would save this site on your Google desktop. Sometimes I need help too. Some things we ask for in prayer, may come with a condition (from God) that must be met.

I pray for nations. Today I got a huge confirmation. I rejoice in that greatly.

For years I prayed for this one thing, but no answer. So I stopped. God knows what I need. So now I thank and praise, Him, for the grace and mercy that I enjoy. I am content to wait upon the Lord. His timing is perfect.
