The "Millennium" doctrine, that is taken from Rev. 20:1-6, is found nowhere else in the entire Bible. There is no confirmation of a 1,000 year period of time to come, nor any reference whatsoever to it anywhere outside of Revelation. Also, the concept is contradicted by many verses and passages elsewhere within Revelation itself.

    Hi again Roy,

the NIV says that Jesus is the Christ not was, but was does not always indicate past tense, as in someone who lived before. It can mean that the "argument" connects the two words before and after in an emphatic way.
  • GiGi - In Reply on Acts 18 - 3 years ago
Yes, the promises are scattered throughout the OT. You can put "promised messiah" or "anointed one" in the search box and see which scriptures come up.

Is a submerged baptism the only way to be truly baptized? This has been a very misunderstood issue with us. I was taught to be submerged my friends have been taught differently. All of us want to follow the TRUE instructions of God, but haven't been able to pin point it in the Bible .

What is meant by baptized by fire, Matthew 3:11?

    Thank you for your help

    You're welcome Monte.

I hold the view Adam and Eve was created in Genesis 1:26-28.

But there may be more to the word till as Brother Ronald said.

He may have something there, , I haven't studied in that area but when time permits I will. I don't think it will change the order of mans creation but it may have great spiritual application.

    God bless.

Good morning. I know what replacement theory is. I do not ascribe to any part of it. It reminds me of Twitter which I observed for about a week.

    I prayed.

This is the reply I got: DO NOT JUDGE.

    ESTEEM OTHERS BETTER THAN YOURSELF.

I am not willing to trade my peace with God, through the Lord Jesus Christ for anybody.

I was raised up in a southern Baptist church. If "the mothers" saw any kid doing anything wrong we got "called on it".

At 17, when I "experimented" with independence, I was told to abide by house rules or get my own apartment!" God always had His hand firmly on my shirt collar; know what I mean?

I was bad, but then my Dad, that I loved with all my heart and admired; if I saw him wince at my behaviour_I stopped doing those things.

I'm 70. I saw society go from one cycle of correction to the next: 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's Now both parents work, the kids raise themselves, not many get to go to church regularly, the internet teaches them about life, twisted love, and Hate. God is judging this nation. Leviticus 26.

I don't see Replacement Theory in the Bible. If we aren't following Jesus; we are following the World dictates. Wanna know how I pray? I pray for God to work within our WILLS to desire peace and love. For families to give love to each person (no matter what). Be strong enough to launch a kid that's prepared to be different and respect their fellowman; be the answer-not the problem.

Problem is, before God starts on THEM__He's going to start on US. :O

In Tulsa folks at church always said, "Git your business straight with God! We giggle, but it's true. I love God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, more than I loved my Daddy or admired Moms strength to ride herd on 5 sneaky children.

Replacement Theory is New. Everything the Bible teaches is "old", doesn't work for now. Proverbs, if anyone would've read it; tells parents how to raise up a man or a woman of God.and launch them on this needy world.

    I love you.

I had some dreams I think were prophecy oriented. Since you're an expert you might be able to tell me the specifics of what they mean?
  • CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST_OR POLE - In Reply - 3 years ago
There are 27 scriptures that say it was a cross. Only 2 say Pole

    1 Corinthians 1:18

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

    Galatians 5:11

And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

    Galatians 6:14

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

    Ephesians 2:16

And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

    Philippians 2:8

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

    Philippians 3:18

(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

    Colossians 1:20

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

    Colossians 2:14

    Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

    Hebrews 12:2

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

*Next 2 verses referring to Jesus

    Numbers 21:8

And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a POLE: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, SHALL LIVE.

    Numbers 21:9

And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, HE LIVED.

Leslie. I would love to drink from the well of your knowledge if only you might soften your teaching style a bit. God is love. He is wrath too! But he is love. Do you have anything for a baby Christian or new believer?

Loved this! Thank you. And this tells us we had better fear going to witches, psychics, palm readers, tarot, astrologists, horoscopes, angel card readers, crystal ball readers, black magic, white magic, ouija boards, satanism, Wicca, yoga, etc. and so on and so forth. These things are a giant no no!But the Bible also says that REBELLION is as the sin of witchcraft. I fear THE LORD of hosts! Saul was desperate when he consulted with the witch of Endor. Even she was terrified. She thought she would be killed. If I remember correctly. I always warn people about going anywhere but to the Lord. And to stay far away from any occult or new age practices.

Hi Luke. No country today, not even Israel who were given the perfect Laws of God, have had governments who were able to adhere to them. Countries could be relieved from culpability since they never received God's Laws & as you wrote, in the earlier centuries some of those laws to Israel were known by others & were in place.

I don't believe that any nation can stand as "righteous" before God - none have the desire to seek after Him to obey Him. They will all stand in judgement in that day for their unrighteous acts, particularly for their resistance to the Gospel & hindrance to Christian witness. Governments are more concerned with their own 'politics', holding onto power, & pleasing the majority. They are not concerned with morality, ethics, truth & service under God. And any who rise up with such an admirable disposition, won't last long, because the god of this world will ensure that the heart & mind remains estranged from God, pursuing their own lusts, legislating from a darkened mind. We have what we have which even our vote can never change, but we have to first see to our own hearts, looking to the needs of others, & maintaining the Word of God in our lives that shows forth as a beacon of love & hope to all.

Hello Roy. The rendering of Acts 18:5 in the KJV is a little misleading, as the two words therein, "that & was" are placed in italics. That means that the translators added those words which were not in the original; & they thought best that those extra words would give better meaning to the original text. Looking at the Greek, that verse would read (in a disjointed way to us): "When now came down from Macedonia both Silas and Timothy(;) was occupied with the word, Paul earnestly testifying to the Jews to be the Christ Jesus".

So, it is understood that Paul was in deep earnest when he was giving out his witness of Jesus. It seems that these Jews were aware of this 'Jesus' but were in grave doubt to the authenticity of His Messiahship. And this prompted Paul's spirit to more earnestly explain & prove that this Jesus was the promised Messiah; in other words, Paul 'gave it his all' to them. However, the next verse (v6) shows that even with his further proving & maybe his entertaining their arguments, these Jews rejected what Paul was testifying. And this prompted him to essentially say that he had no more to give them, & by their rejection of Christ, their lives now stood under God's Judgement & he would go to the Gentiles, as ordained by the Lord.

I realize that I've taken liberty in transliterating this verse, but hopefully it shows that the words "that & was" were not intended to reference an "earlier or stand alone entity", except of course, Paul's proving from the Scriptures what the Jews already knew, that the Christ was promised to come, & the One who was being expounded to them now by Paul, was He.

So Christ and Messiah are two words with the same meaning?

And the original promise is in the Old Testament?

As opposed to what? Destroying the evil? Genesis 6:5-6,11,12, He did that in Noah's day: Genesis 6:7-9, Genesis chapters 6-9,

Genesis 8:21-22, Gen. 9:9-17, therefore HE made a covenant of mercy. Yet HE also makes promises of giving an "account"

    Genesis 9:5-6, Psalms 37, Isaiah 61:3, Romans 12:9, Hebrews 10:30, Jude 1:7,

It's like this Genesis: GOD gave dominion to man over the Earth, including sea. Gen. 1:28, It's a ' stewardship ' that all men will give an account for. Matthew 25:31-46, yet the Earth still belongs to GOD : 1Corinthains 10:26,

GOD gave Moses a set of "Best Laws" That if people obeyed, would cut down on suffering. Instead many have rebelliously rejected, mocked & ignored & refusal to enforce. Whose then to blame for suffering in consequence? Proverbs 3:27,

I think it amazing that GOD intervenes on our behalf so many times. Exodus 3:9, Psalms 12:5,

& ultimately gave us Salvation John 3:16-18, Ecclesiastes 5:8,

    Hopefully this is helpful

    Isaiah 5

20 WOE unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

21 WOE unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

22 WOE unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:

23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against HIS people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against THEM, and hath smitten THEM: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger IS NOT turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

26 And he will lift up an ensign (Jesus) to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly:

Whe we don't understand why our nation is afflicted of God; we have only to SEARCH OUT ALL OF THE WOE SCRIPTURES in the Bible.

Use the Search Engine and pull all those scriptures up and have a good look.

For more information on NATIONAL SINS, carefully read LEVITICUS 26

Verse 25-26 above. God is coming for who? HIS PEOPLE. Those who name the name of Jesus.

We "worshipped in our ivory churches, paid our tithes grudgingly, and went home.

We vote the party of our ancestors, and do not really know the issues at stake. Evil has always been working in the background. WE LOST OUR VOICE. So evil is good, and good has become good.

We see on our television the fruit of our own blindness. Economy is crashing. Our monuments to good are burning, churches being closed down, FREEDOM GONE.
