I know that some people hold to replacement theology. I do not. There also may be some on this board who do not know what replacement theory is, so perhaps you could explain it. Thank you.
When the OT was written in Hebrew, they did not write the name YHWH our of hyper-respect, so the substituted LORD for YHWH. It doesn't matter to me if someone calls our God by the name LORD or YHWH or El Shaddai (God Almighty) or Jesus or Yashua or Christ or Messiah. Our God know who He is and what we call Him in different language translations. He knows our hearts and intentions behind our thoughts and words. He hears us when we call on Him in faith. He hears our prayers because we have been made alive to Him by the Spirit and can call Him Abba, Father as His children.
Hallelujah, Alleluia, or Praise the LORD. They all mean the same to Him. Have a Blessed evening, Luke. Hope to hear more from you.
There is none righteous; not one.
Even when we were dead in our sins and enemies of God, Christ died for us.
We are all in the same "life boat" and the rescuer is the same for all of us.
I do not know you, nor you me. We have an opportunity to get to know each other on this forum. Your posts to me and Adam are quite combative. That is offensive to me. But even so, I would love to hear your explanation of the trumpets since it seems to be up front and center to you at this time. Otherwise, I do not wish to interact with you until your language takes a kinder tone. I am sorry to need to say this, but, I do think it is best if we are respectful when we "speak" to one another. Like I said, I am interested in learning from others about such prophecies. Then I can check what someone says to the Word and decide how I will "file" it. So I would appreciate you sharing your knowledge on this site. But, please, do so without being condescending and accusatory. We are hoping that you become an ongoing part of our fellowship here. So, I am looking forward to learning more about you over time. Have a good evening.
He created us with FREE will. Like Adam and Eve we can choose to obey and follow God; or we choose to follow our own wills; often to our own HURT.
God does not forcibly prevent us from making hurtful choices. But He stands at the Ready, for us to come back to Him. To apologize for being self-willful. He doesn't walk away from us. We walk away from Him.
That "voice" of rebellion and chaos, is straight from Satan's suggestions. Learn to recognize it. He wants us to suffer and blame God for it. He wants it to build a wall of mistrust between you and God. Psalm 23 says, "THOU art with me. I will fear no evil."
From my own failures, I come to remember the exact moment that I chose my way..and not Gods. Sometimes we make terrible heartbreaking choices, that we have to live the rest of our lives remembering. But we can be restored fully__if we accept it. Choices. Satan wants us to absolutely Blame God for our choices. Resist that. Own it. Go forward, a wiser person. Like Jesus on the Cross, step on Satan's head. Genesis 3:15. The last part of Genesis 3:17.
Let us turn back to Jesus and be restored newer, more wise of the pitfalls. LOVE covers a multitude of sins. Be wise in Gods eyes; not your own.
Life returns to Joy. Like Jacob had to do_build a memorial of stones and leave the hurtful memories of sin There. You know it's out there. Just purpose to leave it there. You wrestled and came away a little bruised. God changed your name.
Scriptures are not pretty stories. They tell us how to live through hard, hurtful times. How to be restored with more than enough; as Job was in the last chapter. Faithful is He that promised.
Don't give your hard won joy, to satans attempts to cloud your mind with resentment and regurgitated memories. Think upon the memorial mound of stones. It's buried. Leave it there.
You are the object of Gods Love; and Jesus's sacrifice.
Mishael
Thank you for a well thought out explanation. Appreciated!

1st Paul the one given credit for writing book of Acts was not around Jesus CHRIST during the days before HIS Resurrection, Acts 8, Paul was actually opposed. That might be the past tense reference, if there was any reference to that being past tense at all.
2nd I read Acts 18:28, as a fact that Jesus was Who HE said he was, the same as: is who HE said HE is. In USA I've lived around many dialects of English = in the "deep south" Eastern coast the 1st would make perfect sense to most. English in the deeper South still has many phrases & words used in KJV like 'Breeches' However Michigan area the second way, may be understood better.
3rd Please read the entire Books of Matthew 1, Mark 1, Luke 1, John 1, starting with 1st chapters to see who Jesus CHRIST was & is.
4th maybe most important is the Old Testament points to Jesus being CHRIST all throughout. The same Jesus in the Books of the New Testament. For instance all throughout Psalms points to things Jesus did, & suffered, ' Prophetic fulfillment ' : Psalms 2:6-8, Psalms 8:2, Psalms 27:6, Psalms 16:10, Psalms 18:44, * Psalms 22:1,7,8,14,15,16,17,18,24,27,28,30,31,
Zechariah 13:6, Isaiah 53,
Hopefully that helps
If you are referring to Acts18:5
"When both Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paul was compelled by the Spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ." (NIV)
Here Paul is telling the Jews that Jesus is the promised Messiah (Anointed One) as "Christ" (Greek) "Messiah" "Anointed One" or "Messiah.
So, these Jews are dispersed Jews from the diaspora and resided in the area of Corinth (think Greece). They had not been in Israel when Jesus lived, so they were hearing the gospel of Jesus from Paul with Paul making specific note that Jesus was indeed the One promised to come in the Torah of long ago. As Jews, they would know what Paul was referring to in his statement. That is why they immediately opposed Paul and blasphemed the Lord.
Paul shook his garment and absolved himself of any part of their blasphemy, saying "Your blood be on your own heads; I am clean." and stated that from then on he would go to Gentiles with the Gospel. Later in the chapter, the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision, encouraging him saying, "Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you or hurt you; for I have many people in this city."
I am glad the Lord did this to strengthen Paul in his resolve. Perhaps Paul was considering just leaving town, but after this vision, he "continued there for a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them" (verses 9-11)
He (Paul) spake - Privately; and taught publicly. Probably he returned to live at Alexandria, soon after he had been baptized by John; and so had no opportunity of being fully acquainted with the doctrines of the Gospel, as delivered by Christ and his apostles. And explained to him the way of God more perfectly - He who knows Christ, is able to instruct even those that are mighty in the Scriptures.
18:27 Who greatly helped through grace - It is through grace only that any gift of any one is profitable to another. Them that had believed - Apollos did not plant, but water. This was the peculiar gift which he had received. And he was better able to convince the Jews, than to convert the heathens.
People's Bible Notes for Acts 18:28
For he mightily convinced the Jews. That he was a man of God of great power is shown by Paul's allusions to him. See 1Corinthians 1:12 3:4-6.

Thank You, I remember those who welcomed my warmly when I came here a few months ago. Just passing it on.
Thank you for all of your contributions.
you can google "Septuagint".
This is the Old Testament transcribed from original Hebrew to Greek in the mid 3rd century B.C. at the request of the Jews. At this time in history, the whole region spoke Greek and Hebrew had fallen out of use long before this time, so the Jewish people as a whole did not speak or understand it. the transcribing was done in Alexandria, Egypt.
So it is really the oldest transcription of the original texts we have. Online, it is translated to English. You can Read the passage you wish and see if it helps you more that the KJV or any other translation. The next oldest translation is the Vulgate, a Latin translation of the Septuagint for the OT and the Greek NT, translated by Jerome in around 400 A.D.
I believe. You could google that as well. The Vulgate was the Scriptures in use for about 1000 years until some translations began to be made in English, German, Anglo Saxon, etc around 1500-1600 or so.
Many of us (myself included) have studied end time prophecies and many on this discussion forum often speak about it. We are not as uninformed about prophecy as you assume. This forum fields questions and discussions on a wide range of topics. Those who respond try to give sincere and accurate responses to questions. You are welcome to ask any questions you or just begin a discussion of a topic of your choice. I hope you do. We are interested in hearing your ideas as I am sure you have many good ideas to share. I look forward to hearing more from you. God's blessings to you today.
the book of genesis is so deep. I love how the best commentary for the new testament is the old testament. Now this is just my interpretation but by using Romans 9 and Galatians 4, the allegory of Isaac and Ishmael as well as Jacob and Esau showing that Isaac and Jacob represent Christians while Ishmael and Esau represent the jews.
By using the allegories from the new testament, you could say the curse that Noah put on Canaan/Ham could represent Jesus cursing the jewish nation with the fig tree.
However, the nations of Canaan were super wicked and God commanded the children of Israel to wipe them out in Deuteronomy 7 and other places.
