    Dear Grae

I understand your point of view about posts and responses.

Yet, keep in mind that this is a discussion forum, therefore there is nothing wrong with someone responding to posts.

Oftentimes responses help clarify ideas, give additional information, and offer a different viewpoint, and bring correction to what one may think is misinformation.

Even if you do not read or respond back to a response to your post, some of us will still respond for the sake of ALL who read through the posts on this discussion forum. So this is the reason I have responded back to you, but I certainly do not want to bother you.

    God bless you, Grae

    Dear Grae

Jews are the descendants of Judah, so there were no Jews before Judah. Israelites are descendants of Jacob, so there were no Israelites before Jacob

Hebrews are the descendants of Eber, of which Abraham is one descendant. Ever is a descendant of Shem, so there were no Hebrews before Eber.

God had not separated out the chosen nation yet in the times of the people I mentioned. So everyone was gentile (commoners).

2things about water baptism to consider.

#1 is WHO was present (in Spirit) at the baptism of Jesus Christ himself? Answer; God the Father, Jesus himself, and the Holy Spirit that descended upon Jesus, like a dove!(Father, Son, Holy Spirit, right?)

#2 Why did Jesus Christ himself say in Matthew 28:19 to "go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the FATHER and of the SON and of the HOLY GHOST, teaching them to observe all things what so ever I HAVE commanded you and low I am With you always even until the end of the world amen".

Jesus said this after He resurrected before He ascended to THE FATHER.

Please make sure that you study the whole Bible YOURSELF, PRAYERFULLY. And if something doesn't sit right in your spirit then keep praying about it keep studying. Be careful not to cherry pick scriptures from the Bible but take the entire Bible as a whole when seeking your answers.

Lord be with you and your search.

God is faithful and true and he will not let you be deceived if you seek Him with all your heart

Wait a minute. What??? Where is the church going? When will the church be gone?

Please, I haven't any recollection of reading this. Where do I find this info in the Bible?

My old pastor(BTW, please pray for him) used to say that in the end times the world would be like a huge witches Coven Full of darkness and evil like nobody has ever seen before.

The gentiles worshiped Roman Empire Gods. The Roman Empire was primarily a polytheistic civilization, which meant that people recognized and worshiped multiple gods and goddesses. The main god and goddesses in Roman culture were Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva

Romans chapter 1 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

    28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

U may comment on my answers all u wish , I really don't mind , I would appreciate it if u didn't address your comments to me as I don't want to b drawn into lengthy discussions and I don't usually read anyone elses " replies " . why is there not more about melchizedek
  • S Spencer - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Hi Shelly.

When God said to Abraham I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.

    THIS DOESN'T MEAN YOU WILL

BE ABLE TO SLIP IN THE BACK DOOR TO HEAVEN.

THOSE BLESSED WILL STILL BE JUDGED!!

The Lord never depended on man's heart to do his will, Especially when dealing with Israel.

The Lord would condition man's heart to line up with his will, at the same time judge them righteously.

    1) We see this with the Jews in Egypt, God conditioned the Pharoah heart for Joseph going in to Egypt.

    2) We see the Lord condition the Pharoah heart "Hardened it" for his purpose when he led them out of Egypt.

You see this similar occasion in Babylon, Persia ect.

The Lord builds up for his purpose whether it's a nation or a man to run a nation, He's able to do that without neglecting to judge that Nation.

One of my favorite examples is

    Isaiah 45:1-7.

It was God that blessed those Nations to serve his purpose.

It was God that blessed United States to serve his purpose.

It was God put it on their hearts.

It was God put it on the U.S heart.

I dont believe it was originally in our hearts to support Israel,

The United States, Cuba, and Canada turned a ship of refugees back right before World War 2. and "BEFORE" the holocaust.

And also Hitler put a redemption price on the Jews for two dollars a head.

    We could have bought them.

There is only one Nation in focus when it comes to prophecy and that's Israel.

There will be people gathered out of "EVERY NATION"to go be with the Lord in the rapture. The world and all these Nations will go on.

Some people think blessing Israel is an Atonement for Past, Present, and Future sins.

But we must humble ourselves and realize it's God who raises and builds up, and it's God who protects Israel and always did.

    God bless.

To Bruce on Deuteronomy 14. The Savior came NOT to do away with the Law, but to fulfill the Law (Matthew5:17). We are still under the Law of the Old Testament. Don't get it twisted.

The words of God are "God breathed". These doctorates say, today! That this is only a myth. That these words are mythical. That in fact the whole bible is mythical, It is only a play on words?

Peter says that the scripture is of no private interpretation, that holy men where moved by the holy spirit!

Is "moved" is also mythical? There is nothing mythical about movement.. "the spirit "moved" upon Mary, when she conceived Christ! Was the immaculate conception A "Myth"

Do not be moved by mythical people, you will know them by their fruits. When you read the bible, remember that God is breathing on you. Take His breath, for in it is eternal life

    Repent and be baptized
  • Fred - 4 years ago
If you can prove the old time scriptures to be a myth, you must prove the prophecy a myth. The new scripture substantiates the old and visa versa! You cannot have one without the other! How slick you have become even denying Him who Died for the sins of the world.

It will take more than removing B.C. and A.D., while replacing these with "before the common era and after the common era! "

    Repent and be Baptized

So nice, :) you know if you put your feet on the "rock" mountain. It will never or fall on you or fall from u. Good luck finding Jesus Christ. He is our Castle, Rock and Fortress.

    2 Chorintians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

Be blessed in His Holy Name Jesus Christ, Amen
  • Chris - In Reply on Galatians 1 - 4 years ago
Hello Charles. Apostle Paul gave the reason for this letter in Galatians 1:6-10. The three main points are: 1. that another Gospel was being entertained by the Church; 2. that Paul's apostolic authority, as given him by the Lord, was being questioned; & 3. a re-hash of the Gospel of Christ, of Christian liberty & other matters given.

    1. The Judaizers (Jewish Christians that refused to accept the non-relevance of the Law to Israel as Truth), had entered into this Church (or, other such gatherings in Asia Minor), & began proclaiming, even pontificating their beliefs with flowery speech & convincing arguments. Galatians 1:6-10; 3:1; 4:17. Paul refutes this 'new' teaching of 'faith plus works' ( Galatians 3:2-5).

    2. Paul's apostleship defence. His authority acquired through revelation ( Galatians 1:11-24); it was approved by the Jerusalem Church ( Galatians 2:1-10); it was acknowledged in his rebuke to Peter ( Galatians 2:11-21).

    3. A re-hash of the Truth - an expansion of what they earlier heard from Paul. Was the Spirit received through faith or through the Law? (3:1-5). Of Abraham's faith (3:6-9). Justification only by Faith - the Law given, only to draw men to Christ (3:10 - 4:11). Paul's own testimony (4:12-20). Testimony from an OT allegory (4:21-31).

This faith (apart from the Law), gives meaning to: full Liberty (5:1-12); genuine Love (5:13-15); enjoying the Fruit of the Spirit in spiritual walk (5:16-26). And then matters pertaining to sin in the Church (6:1-5) & giving for the Lord's Work (6:6-10).

Paul ends with his closing words (6:11-18): a final warning to beware of any who demand circumcision or keeping the Law (which those teachers even fail to keep). They might do it with false motives, even to avoid persecution from the Jews (6:12) or to boast in being their teachers (6:13), but none of them carry the marks of persecution which Paul has, showing his stand for the Truth & love for the believers.

I hope this brief explanation answers your question.

Several thoughts for Shelley. It would be well to keep Daniel 11 in mind as you peruse the book of Revelation in terms of any End Times discussion. Though the middle east, Israel and Russia appear to be the focal point of much discussion in the eschatological conversation, it does not of necessity mean America is forsaken or forgotten, especially in light of its historic ties with Israel and massive missions thrust. It would be hard to argue from silence the irrelevance of America in the End Times, anymore than it would be to say "since Zimbabwe, Paraguay or Iceland are not mentioned, then they must be forsaken or burned up." The relevant point is that Israel will be the center of the Lord's purposes; any other countries mentioned will be so with respect to their involvement directly or indirectly with Israel.

Hello Imoh Etuk. Nahash was the king over the Ammonites ( 1 Samuel 12:12). Jabeshgilead was a city located in northern Gilead, in a section that was assigned to Manasseh (a son of Joseph, who was the son of Jacob). The Ammonites were a kindred race to the Moabites coming from the same ancestor, Lot. So they believed that a portion of their territory had been robbed from them by Israel & in the days of the Judges, they continually harrassed Israel, so Israel went to war with them. The Judge, Jephthah defeated them with a great slaughter ( Judges 11:4-13, 28-33).

So with this great defeat & disgrace in mind, & the prophet Samuel now ageing, Nahash of the Ammonites, thought to attempt to strike back again ( 1 Samuel 11:1). But this time, the men of Jabeshgilead weakened & desired to make a covenant with the Ammonites. The Ammonites would comply if they would first blind the right eyes of all the people, maybe as retribution for the previous slaughter. This proviso wouldn't do of course, so they sent for help & one Saul was moved with anger & then mustered up a great company of fighters. These men came to battle on the following day & slaughtered the Ammonites & those who escaped were very few ( 1 Samuel 11:11). And it was soon after this, that Saul was crowned king over Israel.

    Dear Dr Lee

Another thought, perhaps in Job 38 the sons of God are angels and the morning stars are seraphim and/or cherubim. Or bother type of spiritual being we do not know about

Lucifer is referred to as both the morning star and anointed cherub. Seraph are referred to as bright flames or fiery serpents.

We do not know God has deemed angels sons of God. There is a lot we do not know about the spirit realm and the Scriptures reveal very little to determine a cohesive doctrine.

So, I remember reading this: "the secret things belong to the Lord our God" Deut. 29:29

So, I can live without knowing about things. I concur with Job's words in chapter 42:2-6 when Job answered back to God in humility and repentance. We really know very little about God and His heavenly hosts. We can speculate or interpret Scriptures our own ways, but really we have to wait and see in the resurrection what Hod will reveal to us about these things, and still we will not know ALL about God nor we may not know all about these spiritual hosts either. But we will know all that Hod has deemed good and necessary for us. I'm good with that.
  • Gigi - In Reply on Ezekiel 31 - 4 years ago
    Dear Dr. Lee

I have read your interpretation of Ezekiel's trees being Angels and the trees in the Garden as being Angels. Although I find your interpretations interesting, I do not agree with it and stick with my belief that the Angels were created before humans and that the trees in the Garden were real trees.

I do not tend to read metaphors into Scriptures unless Jesus spoke back to a Scripture and clearly explains that it is a metaphor. In this case, He never did.

We will find out in the resurrection the answers to many questions we have about creation and things that happened in times prior to recorded history. I can wait until then. I do not see this topic as one to dwell on. So, thank you for your contribution. We will agree to disagree on this one, in my view.
  • Gigi - In Reply - 4 years ago
Oops this one did not go through earlier

    ....continued part 4

God is holy. He separates Himself from all sin and evil. He is set apart from creation. He works within His creation but is not part of it. He

is altogether pure and righteous. His Presence is unapproachable to sinful humans. We are unable to live or stand in His Presence. This is why we can only bring the righteousness of Jesus before God and not ours. Jesus is wholly righteous, sinless, uncorrupted, and perfect in obedience to the Father. On the cross, paradoxically, Jesus took upon Himself the guilt of the sins of all of humanity, and The Father judged that sin in Jesus, pouring out His wrath on Jesus until His wrath was satisfied. Jesus brought victory over this sin by His resurrection and, having removed our sin from us believers, covers us with His righteousness forever.

God is the perfect Judge and and will exercise His wrath on unbelievers and all evil beings in Hell forever. There are two sides to His justice- justifying those who believe and are saved in Christ-and condemning unbelievers and all evil beings, executing Hos judgement through His eternal wrath. This is the magnitude that He hates sin, both in giving His beloved Son as a holy and sufficient sacrifice for our sins to redeems us who believe-and in everlasting damnation for those who do not believe and all evil doers.

God is perfectly righteous and just. He always acts according to what is right since He Himself is the final standard for what is right. His moral character is without flaw or defect in degree. He is totally eternally righteous in all

His ways. Therefore, He is completely right in all of His judgments.

God is transcendent; no creature can ascend to God to inquire of Him or meet Him. No, in Christ In humility, He descended to the level of mankind, to be one of us and show us what God is like in ways we, as human creatures can understand. It was His will to redeem mankind from sin and thus enable us to be with God.
  • Chris - In Reply on Psalms 149 - 4 years ago
Hello Beverly. Psalm 149 is of unknown authorship & is essentially a call to praise God. It was probably used as a hymn by Israel, in not only offering praise (vv1-4), but also a victory song of triumph over their enemies (vv5-9). However, these latter verses prophetically look forward when all nations will be subjugated when their Messiah, Jesus Christ returns, setting up the (millennial) kingdom. For this, you can refer to Isaiah 54:11-17 and Micah 5:4-15. However, Christ did return to be their Sacrifice for sins, but they rejected Him as Messiah & there will be a day coming when they will mourn, seeing the One Whom they killed ( Revelation 1:7).
  • S Spencer - In Reply on Romans 2 - 4 years ago
    Hi Grae.

    I fully agree with GiGi.

Jesus came to take on the penalty of sin.

Romans 5:12-19. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

    God bless.
