    Hi Catherine

This Scripture in Deut. 25:10 is speaking about lending money to a brother and securing a pledge that the lender holds as collateral to ensure that the person pays his debt.

So, a pledge could be something of value that the debtor has that can be held by the lender. In today's world of finances, a debtor puts up a down payment, or a lien may be applied to someone's home, car etc. Also, often a business will hold your credit card # to hold a reservation on a hotel, etc.

So, back to the verse, it says for the lender not to go into the debt it's home to secure the pledge. This is asking the lender to be respectful of the debtor's personal home by waiting outside for the pledge to be brought to him. Going into the home gives opportunity for a lender to intimidate or threaten a debtor.

Also, if the debtor is poor, the pledge is to be returned after sundown so the debtor could sleep in his own garment. So the text is indicating that the pledge is a msn's puter garment. Most likely the only covering the man owns, no blankets to keep him warm at night. So it is with compassion in mind that a lender treats the debtor with respect and fair practices.

    Marlene,

The firmament, raqia meaning an extended surface, expanse, heaven. There are in scripture three heavens, 2 Corinthians 13:2 as Paul tells us. The first heaven is our atmosphere, the air we breathe, where we will meet Jesus when he returns, 1 Thessalonians 4:17 the Greek word , ar, air, the lower air we breathe. The second heaven is the sky, the Greek word ouranou, the starry heavens, where the sun, moon, all the stars, and planets.

These first two is the firmament that God said let there be to divide the waters, the waters below and the waters above. In day four God placed the sun, moon, stars, and all the other planets in this firmament. The third heaven is above all this where the throne of God and the abode of the angels.

There are many opinions, what are these waters that are above the stars but little scripture just theories.

    May this help.

    God bless,

If you'll type that in Google like this:

    SCRIPTURE, meaning

    Or teaching, history, Commentary

Google will bring up several websites to study just that scripture. It's a great way to increase your study skills.

I like the website BibleHub for most things, but discover what the first 5 sites have to offer.

    Yes, Ronald

    Daniel 12:3 says

    (NIV)

Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.

So, we will shine in eternity. I think all of heaven will shine with the God's holy light

    Revelations 21:22-23

Yet I think we will be able to discern Jesu' countenance and that of others

In this life here, such light would be blinding, but in our new incorruptible bodies, our eyes will not be bothered by the light of holiness we will experience forever in heaven.

Jesus is both the light of the world and the light of heaven.

Obviously light is associated with holiness, so when Jesus said to let our light shine in this life, He is referring to our godly lifestyle that causes others to glorify God.

Thanks for reminding me about these verses.
  • DANIEL 2 and NEBUCHADNEZZAR - In Reply on Daniel 2 - 4 years ago
Daniel said the king's dream was about a giant statue that was destroyed by a stone cut out of a mountain. The statue represented the kingdoms of the earth. The stone cut out of the mountain represented the kingdom of God that would fill the earth.

This comes to pass, and at the end of his punishment, Nebuchadnezzar praises God. Daniel's role is to interpret the dream for the king. The message of the story is that all earthly power, including that of kings, is subordinate to the power of God.

Daniel interprets Nebuchadnezzar's dream. Nebuchadnezzar is humbled twice by God: when he tries to punish the Israelites for refusing to worship an idol and when God punishes him with seven years of madness.

    1 Timothy 6

    3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

This is what every country is experiencing. The Bible says that it will 'wax worse and worse.' Your faith needs to be strong in what the New Testament teaches on these Last Days before Jesus's Return.

The unsaved will be in these comment rooms preaching their heresies. They are reprobate. Don't listen to their rants.

    1 Timothy 1:9-10

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

For whoremongers, for THEM that defile themselves with MANKIND, for menstealers, (HOMOSEXUALITY) for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine.

    And 2 Peter chapter 2: 10-19

But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption

Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

    Shirl Godwin,

Hi Shirl, one and four is not found. Number four should be Matthias, whom the lot fell to replace Judas Iscariot and be numbered with the eleven apostles. Was there a purpose for your question?

  • CHOOSING TO GO WITH GOD - In Reply on Matthew 1 - 4 years ago
People who've died on operating tables and been resuscitated, have said children seen in a vision, were adolescents. (Including all of those who were aborted or miscarried).

For me, who lost a child by miscarriage, it comforts me that I will meet that child someday. I named him.

I don't think we should think of them as dead anymore.

People who suffered disabilities in life, of any type, will be perfect in heaven. All those feelings of being rejected because of imperfection, accidents or all reasons; will be RESTORED.

That is the Father that I've come to know and love. His heart is mercy. He truly cares what we suffer here on this earth. There will be no jealousy or envy; persecution of any type. No feelings of inadequacy. We'll all have the mind of Christ Jesus.

Think on these things. Set your heart on what's to come. Be at peace now; knowing that what God has purposed for us will be far and above anything we can imagine.

Glean from the BIBLE, scriptures that touch on this. Book of Job, Genesis after creation was completed; and so much more. Discover every verse that tells us specific details about heaven, Jesus, the Father, the Holy Spirit, angels.

Right now we know when we get to Heaven there will be a huge banquet at the marriage of the Lamb; to His people. (Covenant). We know that God enjoys banquets, music, dancing and choirs; we will stroll by the Tree of Life. No memories of past pain or hurts. Just a lot of JOY.

Search out those verses yourself and then come back here to share them with us.

Let's all do our best to evangelize those who think Heaven will be boring. We know what we know, in our hearts, already. Jesus is who we looked for, all of our earthly lives.

There is an equal alternative to drugs alcohol flesh parties, hollow sinful things. Heaven is NOT a buzz kill. It's JOY UNSPEAKABLE, full of Grace.

2 Peter 4 is coming to earth. Global warming is a LIE.

I worship the Lord in my heart and soul. May we be as Hezekiah, and go to the Lord God first. Our nation and leaders need to know the Savior and cling to the promises of the Lord God. In these troubled times were are in; the Lord Jesus Christ is our only answer, comfort, peace and joy. Psalms 98

"King of my life, I crown Thee now, Thine shall the glory be

Lest I forget Thy thorn crowned brow, Lead me to Calvary.

Lest I forget Gethsemane, Lest I forget Thine agony; Lest I forget Thy love for me, Lead me to Calvary."

  • Ronald Whittemore - In Reply on Matthew 1 - 4 years ago
    Hey Gigi,

If we do like the little song; This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine, it will shine then, some brighter than others but none as bright as our Savior Jesus Christ whose light shines through us.

Daniel 12:2-3 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Keep the light on and keep it shining.

    Hi Gigi,

The scriptures tell us that Satan and Michael fought over Moses' bones, so we can safely assume he did indeed die. But Dr. Ruckman has pointed out that many have died twice including, and perhaps the most famous, Lazarus. Also, I've discovered that Enoch was a Gentile, so he's probably not going to be one of the two witnessess.

Thanks for your comments and God bless you Sister!

    Hi Glenn,

Thanks for your thoughts. On further review, Enoch was a Gentile, so he's probably ruled out as a witness, so we're back to Elijah and Moses. Now regarding Hebrews 9:27 that reads once to die and then the judgement, Dr. Ruckman has pointed out that many have died twice including Lazarus. But you are right, the good Lord knows!

    Thank you Brother.

According to Dr. Peter Ruckman, "The problem here is that Moses had become bitter toward God because of Exodus 2:12-15 and refused to circumcise his own firstborn. He had not obeyed the Abramic covenant in circumcising the child on the eighth day after he was born".

    Hello!

This scriptural reference is addressing the Jews who were under The Law. But the New Testament still addresses homosexuality as a sin.

    Hi Georgette.

I agree with Brother Adam and like to add what the Lord said in Matthew 5:28. But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

This covers a lot of area, not just premarital sex but any sexual lust that is stored in the heart whether married or single. This is and always was reserved for marriage.

I would take a close look at the link Adam shared and take it very serious because this is for us today.

    God bless.

    Hello S Spencer,

Thanks for your reply. Someone had suggested that Encoch would not be a candidate because he was a Gentile! Good point I must agree. However, I'm still trying to digest the Hebrews 9:27 passage "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:". But then I read a commentary from Dr. Peter Ruckman who pointed out that many people had died twice. Jarius' daughter, Lazarus, Dorcas, Eutychus and the son of the widow of Nain.

Thanks again for your reply and I will be interested to hear if you have any other thoughts.

    God Bless you!

    Wesley's Notes for Romans 16:1

16:1 I commend unto you Phebe - The bearer of this letter. A servant - The Greek word is a deaconness. Of the church in Cenchrea - In the apostolic age, some grave and pious women were appointed deaconnesses in every church. It was their office, not to teach publicly, but to visit the sick, the women in particular, and to minister to them both in their temporal and spiritual necessities. THIS IS THE WRONG STATEMENT.

There is no such thing about deaconness found and literally written in the King James Version Holy Bible Edition 1611 except only the Biblical word "deacon(s)" according to the scriptures of 1 Timothy 3:8-13 KJVS

[8] Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; [9] Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. [10] And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. [11] Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. [12] Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. [13] For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

The man is the head of the woman according to the scriptures of 1 Corinthians 11:3 KJVS

[3] But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

    Genesis 3:16 KJVS

[16] Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

    Ephesians 5:23-24 KJVS

[23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. [24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

With respect and affection , u r absolutely correct . God is our Sovereign and His law of love , personified in His Word made flesh , Jesus Christ the Righteous is our example to b followed always and to the very best of our ability . Exodus Ch 1 gives us a great example of people who fear God and recognise His Sovereignty above any human . They also trusted in God's ability to protect them , even from Pharaoh . These ladies knew who was in charge and knew that He is their protector and King who is able to protect us all from any evil that this world and the people of it try to inflict upon us . Proverbs Ch 3 V 5 - 8 .

  • Sean veasley - In Reply on Matthew 18 - 4 years ago
    What do you mean?

If you are speaking of the names we come up with on a individual bases. We hold dear to the incident that happen to us and tend to attach it to the name of God.

Example: Something told me not to go that way. Next thing you know it's an horrible accident or incident where you were heading. Now you are thanking God to the upmost.

Your now telling people your miracle and you say"Something" told me not to go that way. That something was God, now you have given God a new name or increased his name count without referencing Gods name. People assume when your telling your miracle you meant God when you say "something"told me not to go down there you meant God.

    Hope i answered your question
  • Sean veasley - In Reply - 4 years ago
Yes it does apply, death in this case means our soul. We must still abide by Gods law.The more we do immortal acts the further we get away from GODs grace and mercy. One day we wake up and we don't know ourselves or how we got in the position we are in. It was a simple act of just a curse word lust, or in this case homosexual act.
