2Co 5:8 KJV - We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

went we die our soul goes to heaven

Rev 2:6 KJV - But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Rev 2:15 KJV - So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

a people that taught bad doctrine and did wicked things to the point that they got a mention in the book of revolution.

Nothing is in the bible for no reason this shows us we can hate people too that teach false doctrine and do wicked things. contrary to the popular belief

Gen 5:24 KJV - And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

    He went to heaven

    we know this because

Gen 5:22 KJV - And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:

Bible says he walked with God so he was saved
  • SPENCER SHAW - In Reply - 4 years ago
    never heard that one before

Rev 12:17 KJV - And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

here the bible is talking about the devil being wroth with the children of God.

Because God doesnt love everyone. Where did you get that from?

Psa 11:5 KJV - The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

Judge Felix expected Paul to bribe him out of prison, but only got a preach from Paul. The jews bribed the Judge and kept Paul in prison. This was my understanding of the chapter.

I didn't complete the challenge of bible in a year, but here I am continuing and I believe is what God would want to continue vs giving up.

    Good Morning Paul,

I did research last night on this. Although many sites broke down the name Nicolatians as an explanation of their teaching as ecclesiastical heirarchy, but Scripture does not indicate that their teachings are related to the meaning of their name.

I believe that they are named Nicolatians because they followed a person named Nicolas. Scripture does describe them as following the ways of Balaam. In the OT Balaam was a prophet who was tasked to curse Israel, but God prevented him from speaking curses. Instead, when Balaam spoke to curse Israel, God made him speak blessings instead.

So, then Balaam resorted to bringing in foreign, idolatrous women from Moab to seduce the the Israelite men into fornication and idolatry.

So, some early church writings speak of the Nicolatians as church members who mixed pagan practices with Christianity, especially participating in pagan temple feasts that included temple prostitution and consuming foods offered to idols in the feast. Other writers spoke of them as teaching that since the body is not spiritual, it doesn't matter what we do in the flesh because it is the spiritual self that matters. Therefore, they indulged in sin readily without shame while still keeping fellowship at the Christain worship services.

This behavior and thinking is called antinomians am, which teaches, since we are under grace, and all of our sins are forgiven, we can sin with abandonment because of our Christsin liberty.

    Hope this helps.

By the way, my last name is Nichols and I have read its meaning as "People of Victory".

But it seems that some sites wanted to connect the meaning of the name with priests having authority over laity. This view shows an ecclesiastical bias as at the time of John's writing in Revelations there were no priests/laity not heirarchy in the church. That came several centuries later. Churches had appointed elders, overseers, bishops, evangelists at this time but no central church government.

I don't believe this because Scripture does not teach it and I believe it is heretical thinking.

    Hi Kenaket.

God is Holy more so than we can imagine,

Sin separates us from God. Jesus is the only way to the father. John 14:6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Matthew 7:21-23. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: DEPART FROM ME, YE THAT WORK INIQUITY.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

Hi Kenaket, You have to realize that Yah is righteous in everything that he does. He does love everyone, but when a person strays far away from him, his righteous judgement declares that he hates them, and even this is OUT OF LOVE so that the person may return to Yah. For example when a child puts their finger in an electrical socket, and the parents angrily tells when not to do it. Does that mean that the parent doesn't love the child? No, it is righteous judgement so they may know not to do it in the future.

Amen Joyful, Yahweh is working it out for the best. He knows what is best for us even more so than we ourselves. We are blessed through Jesus. Thank you Joyful for this word of encouragement and may you continue to be strong in the faith.

A friend of mine shared his thought to me about Eph 4:29. "Corrupt speech" can be saying insulting or malicious things to another person. Jesus did not shame people with malicious intent. He spoke to people, like the woman at the well, to point out how our lives can be turned and improved to know salvation. Words to edify, not bring down. This can be applied to our daily lives in how we speak to our spouses and coworkers.

Reading this chapter as best I could I took notes. Then I read Matthew Henry's (MH) commentary and my eyes were opened.

I too, among other things, wondered about why the old prophet was not punished.

MH answer to my heart as I understand it:

    1. Worry about yourself when you have disobeyed you Lord. You are likely, nor should you concern yourself as to why or how the good Lord punishes sinners.

    2. Focus in on your sin alone and dont use mitigating circumstances, as the current social/legal order may do in current society, as your crutch to try to wash away the seriousness of your offense.

    Praise HIM,

    -mbr

Mathew Henry 1710 explains this very well in his comments he say's if a person is saved, but does not hang on to his salvation with God the father Jesus the son and the Holy Spirit in prayer keeping the faith through prayer. Then more demons will come than before! A personal relationship with God through Jesus is what to seek to keep the demons away through the Holy Spirit. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities in high places.
  • Moving over into the Light which is in Jesus - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 4 years ago
Glenn. I caution you. Satan is not human. He has to borrow a body. Ephesians 6 Satan, demons, principalities, powers, evil spirits: none have bodies. In the Old Testament they were called inhabitants. Satan took the body of a serpent.

Glued gemstones all over him. You can Google lists of evil spirits names. It's gross.

God was not walking in the garden with invisible spirits.

Secondly, all the giants and evil spirits DROWNED after the flood.

Jesus told demons to get out of the crazy man and go into some pigs__which promptly DROWNED. They wander around looking for people who are drunk, drugged, immoral, etc. to get inside them. They don't mind if we read the Bible or go to church.

They just don't want you to belive it, and live it.

Eve stepped away from her husbands apathy. The serpent was all sparkly with jewels; Adam didn't flinch. She ate the fruit and Adam ate it because he loved Eve more than God. BAM! the 2 Trees were protected and the first HUMANS were driven out. Gods plan of redemption was already in force. A human would die willingly, to pay for the sins of all mankind. Gen. 3:15. When Abraham was willing to sacrifice his own son, for the sins of future Israel; the plan went forward to Luke 1. God became the Son of Man: HUMAN. Jesus would have dominion, power and authority. Satan would be stripped at the Cross. Jesus took satans keys to the prison of death, hell and the grave. He crushed satans neck with his foot.

    Isaiah 14:24

You should just give up this Old Earth Cult and be born again from Jesus. Follow Him. He will give you the Holy Spirit forever: to be your Teacher and Revealer of scripture in the KJV Bible. Ask Him to wipe your hard drive (brain) and Help you to win souls to God. Wise he is, who wins souls to God. Holy Spirit just said to tell you read in Timothy.

    Good night.

In these times God allowed these things amulets, snake on a stick,to ward of the snakes ,and other things. As the faith in God grew they were taken away to put their faith totally on God.You will see later in the bible that the snake on a stick was destroyed because they started to worship it.God is a jealous God.

All scientists seek to explain FOUR QUESTIONS: Time, Force, Action, Matter. (Even Steven Hawking)

I was reading in Genesis, the Holy Spirit stops me on verse 1. He said the 4 things

TIME: in the beginning__God set TIME ticking

FORCE: The Godhead created. (Father, The Word ( John 1:1) and Holy Spirit

ACTION: and the Spirit of God MOVED over

    MATTER: earth, waters, atoms

God purposed, Word spoke: Light Be, and there was Light. (Purpose Spoke Light)

Carbon dating proves earth is around 2-3 billion years. SATAN was around but he's a created being. He cannot create dinosaurs, cavemen or anything other than chaos.

My personal theory is: Romans 1:19-20. God put the artifacts in earth for us to find; oil for our cars, coal to be warm, fresh water for us and salted water for creatures.

We have to pray for scientists to see the Book of Romans. It's an occupation, as is archaeology, bio science, medicine. We are without excuse if we refuse to acknowledge The Godhead.

I caution you, not to teach your ideas to Gods baby Christians.

There are many, many more scriptures all over the Bible about creation; not just in Genesis.

I think we're all going to be in heaven watching God restore earth to BEFORE mankind messed it up. 2 Peter 3; Malachi 4:1

I've always thought some of the best stories are in chronicles, Kings, Samuel__Nehemiah. There's lots in Jeremiah. We just can't seem to like ALL parts of the Bible. Revelation 22 is key.

I don't want to show up in heaven, and meet Habakkuk and have to say: "sorry man, I never got to your book" :/

See, if you teach that man existed before Adam; that's called OLD EARTH THEORY. It's heresy.

Let's all remember that Malachi 3:16-18. God has a Book of Remembrance that writes down what we think and say about Him. How wonderful to bless His Holy Name!

The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.

    Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7

    Isaiah 6:8

    Romans 1:20

    Colossians 2:9

    Acts 17:27-30

    1 John 5:7

    John 10:30

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and GODHEAD so that they are without excuse:"

    Genesis 1:1

    The Father purposes

The Word (Jesus) speaks. ( John 1:1)

The Spirit (Holy Spirit) executes the spoken word. Action.

All working together. Jesus came to show us the Father, as Emmanuel.

    Matthew 1:23

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, GOD WITH US. [Jesus]

1 Corinthians 12:1-31 explains all the gifts, titled, administrations that God gives to the Church that Jesus has planted on earth Now.

Those that He calls, he anoints for the work. Luke 4:18. The Bible says the gifts and callings are without revocation. If we try to operate without the Holy Spirits anointing; we will not bear good fruit. Can even become apostate.

It's not something to treat carelessly. The Head of the Church is Jesus Christ. All parts of the Body are connected to Jesus.

God lives outside of time and inside of time.

Romans 1 says that if we dispute the evidence of the reality of God; we are without excuse.

I'm not debating this. It's for whomsoever Will believe God is. Can the clay say to the Potter, " what are you doing?!!

A good REFERENCE Study Bible (KJV)with a "center column reference cross scriptures" is very God for cross reading other relevant passages. It's the best.

Jesus as The Divine Master, said to a rich youngman, that it's impossible to serve God and riches, wich He called mamon, as being that youngman's idole.

There is a trap to cach wild monkeys, that consists of an hole inside a log, where the hunter puts a quantity of seeds. The monkey puts an hand through the hole and grab the seeds, but can't remove the hand full of seeds, quikly enough to escape hunter's suden arrival to kill him. Solomon's proverbs, admonishes mankind to behave rationally, avoiding violence and greed, which is a kind of violence.

May God help me and you, to be wise touwards The Lord Jesus Who is The Life, avoiding evil and death, in order to keep The God's Will and Eternal Law, through Jesus's Justic inparted to whosoever believes Jesus, as the good thief on the cross.

Thank you again Dr. Lee. That certainly gives greater clarity to 'common phrases' that we use, that though those phrases might have simple meanings to the majority of us, there yet remains a clear reference & distinction to what God has given to Israel & us, so that we might understand its proper theological divisions when reading the Scriptures. I appreciate the time you've given to us on this aspect of the Word.

Interesting we were researching the Historical printing of the Bible recently. I found interesting information about the changing of the text, in those searches, after much reading. Sorry there was so much information I can't pinpoint even an approximate date & I've cleared my browsing History for better loading. You may want to start with Web search. There is a Bible Museum it may have been on that site, or Congressional documents for Bible printing, or article about changes of 1611 version to today.

    Hopefully that helps

    2 Timothy 2:15

Please also read 2 Kings 3, 2 Kings 12, 2 Kings 13, 2 Kings 14:1-3, pay very close attention to the differences because in these accounts it clarifies who the scripture refers to by details not necessarily the "name of the individual" there are very similar names buth differences in Jerusalem, Israel, Syria, differences in parents & even who they fought against. Significant details that should help you break down for truth. Please note also in 2 Kings the reigning of the son clearly seems to overlap as you described. Just like King David when he was still alive & sick, yet they both would retain "title". 2 Kings 13:1,9,

2 Kings 9:1-9, 2 Kings 9:11-12 King of Israel, Jehu. 2 Kings 9:14-16, Jehu "conspired against Joram. (Hazel king of Syria)

    vrs 16. * Ahaziah king of Judah * 2 Kings 9:21, 2 Kings 9:22-24, 2 Kings 9:27,28 details buried in City of David. 2 Kings 9:29,

2 Kings 8:7-15 "Hazael king of Syria" same guy? 2 Kings 10:31-32, 2 Kings 34-36,

    2 Kings 8:16-24,

2 Kings 8:25-29, 22 yrs old Ahaziah over Jerusalem 1 yr,

    * 2 Kings 11:1-4 son of Ahaziah, keep reading 2 Kings 11:5-21, * (Son in biblical terms goes many generations) example: John 8:39

This may be the account that clarifies the distinction you're looking for.

1 Kings 22:51-53 details, 2 yrs over Israel Ahaziah,

    Hopefully this is helpful

    Thanks for explaining.

I strongly disagree with your interpretation. But, I can only recommend that you research such a belief in Christian history and see if your view is truly from God or not.

I appreciate your exchange with me. Some topics and differences can be uncomfortable, but to me, it is helpful to talk out ideas such as this.

At this point, I will be exiting this thread. I wish you well, but I think your view is a gravely erroneous.
