AS I was in a Prayer Team mtg at church I heard this retied pastor pray this way and thoughts started soaring and I know He din't mean any disrespect to God and God knows our heart and when we pray He knows so I'm not afraid of praying right or wrong but want to be praying in God's will and word. Are We suppose to pray that God help us to sin less so Jesus won't suffer anymore or as i once or twice hurting for my lost neighbors & family/world have said to God...Lord, if my heart is breaking for the Lost yours must be too so please help them surrender soon. This came to my mind when I this replaying in my head. It came to my mind that how can Jesus be suffering when 1 Peter 3:18 says Christ suffered ONCE, for our sins and Hebrews 9:28 says ONCE, He offered to bear the sins of many...Jesus Wept which is the shortest verse but that is past temse so why do we as humans think he's weeping for our sins When Revelation 21:1-7 says No More tears and pain in heaven and He is in Heaven from what I read sitting by the right hand of God. Do you really think God gets hurt inside seeing what His creation's doing or those that have accepted Him thinking He suffers. I believe God has righteous Anger towards us NOT listening, but I believe He is a fair, Just and Loving God who gives more than 2nd chances. At least I know He did for me. I think He allows our choices to draw US to a Loving Forgiving God and it's Our choice to surrender. I'm not sure about whether He feels about it in the sense of suffering or hurting or weeping then wouldn't that make His word a lie. I know He doesn't lie as His Wrod says He's the Word and He's the same yesterday and today. Please pray with me, I'm Praying about these things and praying I can talk to my Pastor Sunday. I just want to have sound doctrine if someone ever brings this up and I pray God will give me wisdom and discernement on this subject and I find Peace about it. Thanks for reading and your prayers and/or any incite.

    Hi Michael

What do you mean? Clean the house?

Astrology has got nothing to do with what I was talking about.

You'll have to give me more info.

    Thanks
  • Mishael - In Reply - 4 years ago
Practicing astrology carries a death sentence. satan doesn't like to lose his true believers either. It was like living in that poltergeist movie! demons look through our books & dvd collections.

    Clean the house.

Dr. Kyle Lee I understand what you are saying, that being stated this is the age of grace and if someone tithe its

from the heart not because you have to but because you want to. I won't criticise or judge because we are supposed

to walk in Gods Love Agapeo by example but again I understand you.

If you're referring to Ezekiel 1:4 Lynn, my sense is that the whirlwind/cloud came from the North. But his visions, began to manifest themselves as the heavens (expanse of sky above him) were unfolded for revelation sake. As the sky opened, the whirlwind came forth from a northerly direction.

Hi Rick Mentzer; I hope you have understood the priesthood of Levi, for the entire Old testament has been destroyed by the Lord Jesus Christ, on Calvary, as he nailed it to his cross, he had slain that law of Moses and broke down that middle wall of partition that kept the Jews and Gentiles at war with each other. Ephesians 2:14-16 and Colossians 2:14-15

If you have fully comprehended this then you too would not be involved in tithing, or unclean animals, or circumcision for salvation, and the like. Also I would recommend reading time and again the Apostle Paul's master piece on the Ten Commandments in stone, known as the old covenant, and also Hagar. for Christians today must be under the Ten Commandments in the heart, known as the new covenant, and also Sarah. Galatians 4:21-31 I have written about this here in this book of Galatians, for your reading, and to further advance the knowledge of liberty given unto Christians who need to be make from the obeying any Old Testament laws, or the Ten Commandments in stone.

Thanks for replying Rick. Stay with it - read the Scriptures (the Old & New Testaments) with this in mind: God's Love knows no bounds as He is just that, a loving God as well as a Just God dealing with us as sinners. He made the provision for every person to come to know Him, even those who've never heard of Him but look to that One, someone greater & more 'merciful' than their idols, coming in faith & expectancy that their redemption must come from above.

Would a perfect lamb sufficed as a Sacrifice? Maybe it would as it would have been God-provided & God-accepted to make full atonement. But then again, how deep & unfathomable is the Father's Love, that by not only providing a Sacrifice that we could not provide, but that He gave of that one Sacrifice that could never be transcended in any possible way: Himself. This alone gives us much weight of assurance & great joy when we read in 1 John 3:16: "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." And, John 15:13: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." Do I see Jesus in the OT? Maybe not His Name, but certainly the Promise & expectancy of His Coming at the appointed time to give both Jew & Gentile salvation that none can separate or rob us of ( Romans 8:38,39). Praise Him often for His mercies He has showered upon you, giving you life & hope that so many spurn, rejecting His Offer of eternal life.

Spencer Shaw You show me one place in scripture where Jesus Christ threw any of that unloving stuff at someones

face or implied it I'll eat the book. Most time it was shut up and get out because they knew who he was and these

people had no clue. It is unbelievably a lack of wisdom to get into this stuff because if theirs people who don't believe

in the true God then why would they believe in this stuff. Even people who worship satan a lot of times really don't

believe what their doing that's why they get delivered by God in the Name of Jesus Christ. Do what you will, I've

dealt with this stuff and never said anything like that to the individual because GOD SAID DON"T. Use some Wisdom!

    Dear Valerie,

It means not to live for the worldly things, we are to live for Christ.

Taking up our cross to follow Christ means we should have a commitment to giving up our worldly dreams, possessions, and change our life, and strive to live a new life.

    Matthew 16:24

"Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"

How many people want to hear and acknowledge this, and change?

    God Bless

Jim In the Gospel of luke 13:28 who was he speaking to was it not the ruler of the synagogue starting in verse

15 and most if not all of those were corrupt. The key to this discussion is Abraham and those before the law

believed God and it was counted unto them for righteousness then when the law which nobody walked all the time

untill our Saviour who fulfilled and completed the law. Those doing the best they could by the law Luke 1:6

Zacharias and Elisabeth were blameless in the law it doesn't say faultless! Now as it says Hebrews 11:8-10 by faith

or believing Abraham looked for a city who's builder and maker was God does that not describe Paradise to come.
  • Rick Mentzer - In Reply - 4 years ago
Jim Given everything you showed you are correct He was both, but also their is a physical seed man and a spiritual

seed which is what Genesis 3:15 is talking about because physically a woman does not produce seed. This what

occurred when Mary said to Gabriel be unto me according to thy word and God created in Mary that seed to produce

by the flesh Jesus Christ who Had to have perfect sinless blood because the life of the flesh is in the blood! Therefore

also the line of the physical traced back to david and eventually the believing line to abraham and to the original Adam.

So the first adam corrupted in blood line the second adam sinless blood and never sinned and perfect sacrifice for ours.
  • Jim - 4 years ago
You said that Jesus is the word made flesh. I agree with that. That does not say that Jesus is God.

It says the only begotten of the Father. God is his father. Who was Adams father? God.

Adam= the first Adam. Jesus is described as the last Adam. God is the Father of them both. Neither had an earthly father. Adam had it easier. He didn't have an earthly mother.

When he sinned he did it deliberately. He was not deceived like Eve. Adam follow Eve instead of God.

1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

1Ti 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

You asked me if I believed those scriptures. Of course I believe those scriptures. All scriptures are from God. One thing you have to realize is that what we have is the word in translation from the original. That we have to read carefully.

Jesus Christ came on this earth to provide salvation to those who look to him.
  • Jim - In Reply - 4 years ago
You mentioned devils and evil spirits. From the scriptures where would you go to describe what they are.

Psalm 78:49 is dealing with God destroying Egypt. Those angels were doing Gods will.

Notice what it says in verse 7. I make peace, and create evil.

Isa 45:5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

Isa 45:6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Your right about 1 John 2:16. Now go back to Gen 3:6. That is was Eve was tempted by. Lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and the pride of life.
  • GiGi - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 4 years ago
Are you saying that all humans existed prior to conception as a spiritual being with God? If so, that view is not supported by Scripture nor the teaching of the church through the centuries. Mormons teach this view. To me, it is heresy.
  • Jim - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Hi Rick

you are right. The old testament is still important.

    Consider Acts 17

Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

When these people searched the scriptures daily. Was it the old or new testament they searched.

It was the old. The new hadn't been written yet or it was being written. They wouldn't have accepted new writings.

Understanding Genesis is extremely important to understand the rest of the bible.

Good afternoon, Millard, I agree in that the Son of God has no beginning and no end, and Jesus was the incarnate son of God. But Jesus is also fully human along wit being God, so His humanity had a beginning at conception. Both natures are in the Person of Jesus forever, but before His human conception, He was forever the Son of God only.

    Hi Rick

    Jesus in the Old Testament.

    Deu 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

Deu 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

In the new testament they ask John if he were that prophet. They say in John that Jesus is that prophet.

Joh_6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isa 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

    Isa 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

    Who came from Jesse. DAVID

    The promise to David.

2Sa 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

2Sa 7:13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

2Sa 7:14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

2Sa 7:15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

2Sa 7:16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

This is talking about the Lord Jesus Christ who is the seed of David and the seed of God.

    Consider verse 14.

speaking with other tongues the bible says just means speaking another language,

[ Act 2:4 KJV] 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

someone who has this gift we would say in today's language that they are bilingual, Gods Spirit moved on some of the early believers for a sign of others around them that HEY this is of GOD.
  • SPENCER SHAW - In Reply - 4 years ago
well this ultimately pictures Christ Jesus who was truly the man after Gods own heart

but God does say David was indeed a man after Gods own heart to get a better understanding of this read the book of psalms over 70 were written by David himself showing his love and desire to serve God even when it is difficult

    Hi Rick

    To continue

There are promises given to Abraham that have not been fulfilled yet.

Gen 13:15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

It is given to Abram for ever. Abraham is still in the grave. He will have to be raised from the dead and give immortality.

I'm positive this will happen. He is promised the land and a seed. That seed is Christ.

Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Gen 15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

Isaac and his seed was also promised the land.

Gen 26:2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:

    Gen 26:3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;

    Gen 26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

Jacobs name is changed to Israel and he also is given the same promise.

    Gen 35:11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;

Gen 35:12 And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.

It is important that we have a correct understanding

Luk_13:28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

    Thanks for your time.

we do not keep the sabbath as new testament Christians so don't worry yourself you are not in violation

[ Col 2:16 KJV] 16 Let no man, therefore, judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]:

the sabbath was a picture of salvation through Jesus no work on the sabbath and we do no work for eternal life

    [ Tit 3:5 KJV] 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Spencer shaw In Romans 12:2 the word conformed[suschematizo] means fashioned in the same way or give over to the pattern of lifestyle or thought sometimes forcibly. That's why its renewed mind to the things spiritual, new man in Christ

which goes against natural man's thinking. 1 John 2:16 Comes to mind.

bible talks about devils and evil spirits, So if you are seeing shadow people that is most likely a devil, evil spirt, or fallen angel tormenting you

[ Psa 78:49 KJV] 49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels [among them].

[ Mat 4:24 KJV] 24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

the verse is implying if you are tormented most likely a devil is to be blamed
