One could google that and find out if what I am saying is true or not. I encourage people to read up on what Christian history shows to be the meaning and type when it speaks of baptizing, which means to immerse in or pour water over a person.
But
Many on here will argue against this because they don't want the text to mean water baptism due to their desire to have it mean something different. That is why I suggest someone research it outside of the comments on this site if one wants to really find the answer.
them then they acted on what the spirit gave them. It's your operation of the God given ability, also the things of God
are to be done decent and in order which is the way God wants it. If its out of order red flags God is not the author of confusion. That is not to say that if someone does not speak in tongues there not born again and don't operate the spirit, I've seen both sides. Just showing you Gods Word, also in Acts 2:11 Gods Word says they were speaking the wonderworks of God. I didn't write the book. So do what believing God for.
Off the top of my head, I believe the scripture you are referring to is in the book of Titus but don't quote me on that one. I'd have to look it up. As far as equality, I think scripture would support God seeing both men and women as equal in His eyes, just not when it comes to function and the role of each in the church. But yes, this is one of those hotly debated topics that will get us put in the hot seat no matter what view we present. However, sticking with scripture is the best indeed!
My dear sister in Christ Jesus, thanks for all you contribute to this forum. God Bless!!!
and other places and i have also evidenced this being done in confusion and out of biblical order like other things
of God but that does not make it Gods fault because as Paul states God is not the author of confusion. 1 Corinthians
14 :40
of the first year, there are actually a few good studies i've read where Jesus christ ministry may have been one year
I.E. beginning in Luke 4:16-21 and of course ending Acts 1:9-11. Something to look into.
Thank you..
but i'm not buying that the son of perdition or the Antichrist or the tribulation times are happening now.
Is it building up without question but we the believers in the body of Christ making intercession is the only
thing from the enemy cutting loose in my scriptural understanding. Also scripturally 2 Thessalonians 2:12
that they all who believed not can't include the saints or believers in the Body of Christ.
I have the Holy Spirit in me and I have never spoken in tongues. If I ever do, I hope it is in the same manner as first recorded at Pentecost, where God gives me the ability to speak fluently in a (known foreign language) that I do not speak, so that I might spread the gospel message to someone who wouldn't understand me otherwise in English!
Yes, I agree with you John baptized with water. But, Jesus continued this baptism, he added to it - and commanded us to be baptized with water and he promised to add the Holy Spirt. So it's with water and Spirit! This is totally in line with his words in John 3:5
Acts 2:38
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." This is how we receive the Holy Spirit!
So then at this point our sins are forgiven.
Acts 22:16 "And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord."
It is impossible to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ without teaching the absolute necessity of baptism. Here is Apostle Paul:
Romans 6:3-4
"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?"
"Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."
1 Peter 3:21
"The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:"
We can't ignore all of this scripture:
Acts 2:37
"Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?"
Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Anyone who responds to the question in Acts 2:37 with an answer that contradicts Acts 2:38 is not in line with the gospel of Jesus Christ!
All of this scripture above was written after Jesus Christs resurrection. It was Jesus/God's command for us! GB you Alex.
where was the deceit in his prayer.
"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath: which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ." Colossians 2:16-17

What do you mean by shadow people?
Are you asking what the word "psalm" means?
It means song.
But if you are asking what the meaning of the psalms are, then being more specific about a psalm number and verse may help us respond
I agree. The text you quoted excludes women from these positions.
There is another Scripture that says that women should keep their households, caring for their husbands and children.
I am not sure of the verse location.
But women abandoned that sacred position in the home many decades ago with the push of "women's liberation" and "equality" along with the lure of a second income to raise the standard of living.
Look what it has brought us to,
Now, due to adjustments in the cost of living, it is increasingly difficult for a young couple to live on one income.
We have created our own problems by departing from Scripture on this and going by the wisdom of the world.
And like you said, I'll probably get some to push back on me on this, but I believe we are always better off going with The instructions of Scripture in both the short and long run.
The Bible does not mention the names of the days of the weeks as we know them.
The names are from the Julian calendar, I believe, and came at a later date than the writings of Scripture.
So, in reality, I don't think we can really know the exact day of the week when Adam and Eve had their first Sabbath rest. We just know that it was the first day after their first day of life, if Genesis tells us they were made on day six.
I think the important thing for believers is to "rest" on the finished work of Christ Jesus.
We can choose to have a Sabbath rest every 7 days, every day, or another schedule that fits our life conditions.
This is because the law of grace allows us liberty to keep the spirit of the law and not dimly the letter.
I do. I believe there is only one true God, one way to Heaven and that Jesus is indeed God!!! We are not rare, just a small few. Not everyone will walk this narrow path. You stay blessed.
We are HIS workmanship
So God is the boss of me and you
He directs us. We don't advise or tell Him what to do.
We pray and ask in our limited knowledge, but He always follows His good and perfect will. So, we should be humble and accept His answers, provisions, open or closed doors, wait and grow leading s.
I have exercised the gift of leading and teaching as well as the gifts of helps and service.
I am most comfortable with the latter, it definitely is a "safer" type of work than leading or teaching. But I step into whatever God places in front of me even if it is uncomfortable. There is growth in that as we allow the Spirit to work through us.
We may even find that we are better than we thought we could be at doing something that stretches us.
But humility and love is always the driving force in our service, always endeavor in to be a faithful, godly witness in all we are called to do in the church, our job, our home, and our family relationships
Reading those articles one would wonder if those Pastoring in the 19th century perhaps should have been exempt or held back from military duties and remain overseeing the Church similar to the way the Lord dealt with Israel.
Numbers 1:45-50.
Tho the Church may not be directly instructed aa tho Israel but there are subtle principles in scriptures such as
2 Timothy 2:4. that may suggest. perhaps exemptions for Pasrors.
I believe there's virtue to Gods order and structure in the way he do things therefore there's consequences when we deviates from it.
It's interesting in 1 Timothy 2:13. Paul mentions "For Adam was first formed, then Eve." You would say ok well that settles it. but then he goes on with verse 14. "And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." He seems to give more reason. Could this be a picture of her influence and our partiality when it comes to women? If Adam wasn't deceived why take of the fruit? We have to ask ourselves didn't Adam know better and what would we have done. There may be more to this than just
hierarchy, ( not saying he didn't set up hierarchy) there may be reasons besides that. just as it's a reason man can't pastor a church without the Holyspirit.
I'm just fishing but if this is even close, then our partial and passiveness towards women would be as big as the issue as an seductive woman if she's in error.
Perhaps if anyone else could have been around to offer Adam that fruit just maybe he wouldn't have taken it.
I believe as in the Gospels woman has an equal role in the church, but Gods order ordained should never be broken.
God bless.
Jesus is the only one who gives the Holy Spirit to the born again believers.
The Holy Spirit speaks of and teaches believers about Jesus Christ. If someone preaches it to you; the Holy Spirit alone confirms it with signs following.
He gives the gifts and operations AS HE WILLS.
As you read the New Testament you'll understand everything about the Gifts. Baby Christians must grow up in Christ first.
We must learn to obey the Known (Bible) Will of God.
Women as preachers and teachers must submit to Christ (It is his church), and sit under the Leadership of that Church. It's about obedience and Discipleship.
Personally, I've done all the gnarly jobs in a church without grouching. Why? Because I was doing it AS UNTO THE LORD. On my job at work; same thing. God is our Employer. If we can't do right by Him; we will not be promoted. I especially AVOIDED gossip and backbiting. It was hard at times because Satan drops by ever so often.
The Holy Spirit is the one who ANOINTS you to be in ministry. That's who you have to please with your progress. You'll be tested on resolve all along, by HIM. If you encounter a lot of spiritual warfare, ask the Holy Spirit for the Gift of: discerning the spirits. But first, learn what that is. YOU hit the books/Bible and learn from it. HE IS YOUR TEACHER.
If you want to see what a lady Preacher looks like. Watch some Iverna Tompkins on youtube.
We have to learn how to pray, seek God for fresh MANNA go his people. It's for us, and it's for them. We need to know and live in Matthew 25. Our priority is to Jesus and pointing His children in a better direction.
I'm happy for all those who do choose ministry.
Mishael
Bro Dan it would be a slap in the face of God to ADD ANY THING TO CALVARY....3 TIMES In Acts 10 & 11 God Almighty was telling Peter WHAT I HAVE MADE CLEAN...Do not call common or unclean...God was baptising folks with the H.G. The new covenant. The ultimate baptism. But Peter was Commanding water baptism old Covenant, A slap in the face of God and the lamb of God...Dan once ya understand the ENORMITY of the CROSS, The blood of the lamb, you will no more mention water baptism for the remission of sins...Remember Jesus said that some wd not be able to drink the NEW WINE ( THE NEW COVENANT )..They wd say the old wine is better ( water baptism ) The new wine is H.G. BAPTISM....The Gift of God....But water baptism is not the gift of God. Remember in ACTS 18 : 26 One of Johns disciples was still water baptising.Scripture said thats all he knew was Johns water baptism...But Aquilla and Prisilla had to take him unto them selves aad expound unto him a more perfect way....Which was the new covenant
Back in those days they had what was called the threshing floor. What they would do was they would gather their crops in and they would grind it on the threshing floor, and the grain would separate from the chaff. And then they would take a shovel, a winnowing fork, a winnowing fan, and they throw it up in the air. And the grain would only travel a certain distance but the chaff would blow even further away.
By the time they finished this process, they would have two separate piles on the floor. One pile goes into the barn, and the other one you burn. What this is talking about is that with Jesus, either you are going to get baptized with His spirit, because that's the name of his ministry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit, or the fire of judgment. He will separate the wheat from the chaff.
As for what baptism is Paul talking about in Romans Chapters 5 and 6, he is presenting to us the process of salvation, and the baptism he mentions in Romans Chapter 6 is Spirit baptism, not water baptism.
Thank you so much for sharing that quote from the Virtual Museum of Protestantism. I have not heard of them before but would like to check them out. I'm sure they might have other articles of great interest. It does explain a lot on why women were being ordained as pastors. But as you mention, should we as the church ever deviate from the word for the benefit of the church? I think not! It seems to me that every time man does what he thinks is right for the church, we as a church begin to suffer. Things might work from our point of view, but if the Lord's not doing it, we get ourselves into quite the mess.
I truly believe that there are women who would do a much better job of fulfilling a pastoral role in the church than some of the men. But again, do we deviate from the word in order to make the church a "better" place? We've got to be careful on how we are building because if the Lord is not in it, our efforts are in vain, no matter what we think is best. How did the early church function? That should be our model, and yet we have moved so far away from it, maybe not intentional, but we've gotten ourselves into a mess!
May the Lord continue to bless you with knowledge and understanding of His word, for it is only through His provision that we can move forward in growth. God Bless!!!
Thx
