Hi Dean . Personally I don't believe there is such a thing as superficial faith . You either have faith or you don't . All I can say is that when it's tested , you will know if you have it or not . I hope that came out ok . I don't feel as if mine has ever been tested . When I look back through my life I'm amazed that I didn't notice that some one was looking after me and it wasn't a human being that's for sure . Now I can recognize God in my life when I look back , but often , when you are in the thick of things , tied up in this world , you don't notice the miracles going on around you . I feel very blessed to still be alive and happy . A wealthy person has all they need , I am rich I think ! Stay strong and trust in God's love and mercy , it never fails , even when we do .

Cowboy Sir with all due respect God our Father so to speak is not an indian giver, just think about this, you can't tell me and no other believer can tell me that they walk by the spirit and don't sin 24/7 hrs. a day and honestly if i would

walk by the spirit 4hrs. a day that would be an accomplishment because that's saying you were at the right place at the right time where God wanted you to be and you said the right words with the right expression, with right compassion and the right tone that God wants and you did what he said to do at that moment the way He wanted it done. Now that is

walking with no sin, and if you can actually do that my hats off to you. That's why our sin nature was paid for by our Brother Jesus Christ to pay for the sins we will commit unintentionally after were born again. In the Gospel of John 1:29 it says behold the lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world, why doesn't it say sins because it was a complete

one time payment for past present and future for those who believe. Last but not least this is one of my favorite verses

Jude 24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling and to present faultless before the presents of His Glory with exceeding joy,[ It was great joy for Jesus christ to pay for us to present us spiritually with no fault unbelievable but true] So bottom line you choose what you want to believe but i'm not living as if a make a false move I'm toast

    God Bless

Abraham The revealed word and will of God concerning creation and mans and from Genesis 3:15 to revelation 22:21 the bringing to pass of his only begotten Son our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is the only book with all truth on mans redemption and what man needs to be complete body soul and spirit to Walk with God. Luke 4:4 man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

It is the only book that gives the truth about heaven, the world to come and the spiritual battle that is Going on between God and the devil or Satan. It is the only book that gives the truth on the supernatural the spiritual

operation of God and satan. It is the only book that when you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart Romans 10:9+10 that you receive the spirit of God and get Born again. It Is Perfect and no other book in the world can make that claim, it is written by men that were told what to write by the Spirit of God 2 peter 1:20+21. It is perfect scientifically

  • Earl Bowman - In Reply on John 21 - 4 years ago
Amen and Amen, Brother Ronald, I would like to tell you what has been revealed to me in studying God's word.

Revelation is signified, so most nouns represent something other than what a dictionary would define them.

I believe, the BOOK, is Christ, The WORD, the BOOK, of life, of truth, of wisdom, etc., etc., all things.

Christ told us that we had to eat his flesh and drink his blood, he is our food and water.

I believe the same applies to the open book (Christ), we eat the book, as we eat his flesh.

It's sweet in our mouth because it has brought TRUTH TO US, it is bitter in our belly because we see our brothers (the world) that has NOT YET been GIVEN this Knowledge.

But we will again prophecy to our brothers after they are resurrected back to their flesh here on earth, the SECOND time.

Isaiah 11:9 .....for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

    God Bless You!

The holy angels in heaven are sinless and not divine. Jesus is not begotten or God because He is sinless, He is God because He has always possessed the essential divine essence and eternal tri-unity that sets Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit apart as solely God alone.

Hi Earl With all due respect the fire in the bush did not consume it, it was to get moses attention so God could speak to Him, Elijah had an altar built and the fire of God came down and consumed the alter, many times when elijah called down fire it was dealing with unbelief. It's very interesting that in the Gospel of Mathew 3:11=12 we are baptized in Holy spirit and with fire signifying as we walk in the faith of Christ putting on Hods Word the old man nature gets burned up the chaff.

You are correct thank you that many times fire signifies spiritual cleansing.

    Hello Cowboy,

I am very secure in my salvation. Why? Because I'm trusting in the one who saved me and not in myself to keep myself saved. Thanks for sharing John 10:29. Yes, Jesus did say that no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. Then you immediately put a "but" in there and say that we can take ourselves from the Father's hand. If that were the case, wouldn't Jesus have said that? I know of no place in scripture that says I can pluck myself out of the Father's hand.

It is interesting that you say that when we sin, we lose our salvation and fall from grace and during that time we are not known by Him. Those aren't your exact words but that's the message I'm getting.

If we lose our salvation when we sin, I would think our salvation would be lost quite frequently, wouldn't you agree? Are you saying we can lose salvation, get it back, lose it again, and get it back? That's what would happen if we were to lose our salvation every time we sin.

Yes, God knows His sheep. He will always know His sheep. If we sin, He still knows us and He deals with us. Sometimes His chastisement can be very harsh.

My friend, if you are insecure about your salvation, I am sorry to hear that. I am very secure in mine. I've been given eternal life. God's Spirit has sealed my spirit. I cannot break that seal.

In John 10:28, Jesus says And I give unto them eternal life; Number one, that is pretty secure. How long is eternal? Forever! And they shall never perish. How long is never? Neither shall any man pluck them or snatch them out of my hand. There's no "but." No man would include myself!

Umm, Jesus' Divine nature was never created. He became incarnate. But that is a different matter. We grow as Christians to imitate His character, godly (not gods) and eager to do the will of the Father.

    Mishael,

Thanks. The belief that Jesus is fully human and fully God has been the standard doctrine affirmed through the church since the time of the apostles. The belief that Jesus is not God, only human has always been affirmed as heresy in all ages of the church. I understand that we should not quibble about minor things, but this really is the paramount teaching of Christianity. Trinitarian belief is at the heading of all of the creeds of the church.

Scripture says that Jesus affirms that He is the I Am of the Old Testament. This name means that He is eternal. From eternity "past", "present", and "future" exists. Only God has an existence like that. I parenthesize the time terms because God exist outside of Time and Space. W just have a hard time imagining tat concept without thinking about time.

Good thoughts, there, thanks for reminding us that Jesus is the center of our faith and lives.

The Jews could not accept Jesus because e claimed to be God and the monotheism of Judaism cannot accept a "rival" god to who they knew as YHWH. They did not spiritually understand the many references to the Triune God in the Torah. They were spiritually blind, dull of mind, hard of heart, and "plugged their ears" to what the Torah and Jesus revealed. It is interesting that the Shema which is recited by observant Jews, Says, "Hear O Israel, the Lord, the Lord our God is One". I always wondered why God just didn't say, "I am the only God" as the Shema. But I think that saying that He is One is speaking to the future revelation of Son and the Holy Spirit, that there are not three separate gods, but a union of Three Persons that constitutes the One True God.

    Hi Eric,

This one will be a hard nut and it may be empty when you crack it, as in John 21:20-23, Peter was showing he was jealous of John and what Jesus said, maybe Jesus was telling Peter it is not your concern, just follow me and feed His sheep. There was a rumor started that John would not die but Jesus did not say that. Other verses may spur interest relating to John's possible living longer, in Revelation 10:8-11.

The little book that was open that John was told to eat. If the book was open, does that mean it did not contain a mystery or a secret? Did it contain what the seven thunders had uttered, that John was told to seal up and not to write? John was told thou must prophesy again; will that be in the future? Is it written in the rest of Revelation that John had not written down yet?

The Bible does not record the death of John, but there are theories out there you may research those, there is one they boiled him in a pot of oil. I would like to give you more scripture for you to study but this may not have an answer and only come to speculation.

God bless and let the Spirit of truth guide you.

Dean The real question here sir is do you believe what you believe, the adversaries game is to get us to doubt, if you

confessed Romans 10: 9+10 with your mouth and believed what you confessed with your heart which is the seat of your

personal life and committed to doing your best to walk on Gods word trust me you weren't missed by God. It's not a head

trip and don't be a sign seeker, unbelievers look for that, show me a sign and I'll believe in God wrong. You Will Know

    because God doesn't miss.

There are times dean when I question what I'm being told and miss the blessing, example this morning went outside I live in florida in condo next to beach, I love taking pictures of wildlife. I was walking on the third floor and saw

8 herons standing side by side on the shore that's unique Father said take a picture now, instead I called my wife to come out and see this, she came out I went to first floor to get a closer shot they were gone. Between when I first saw them and second time was maybe 1.5 minutes. I missed it, I missed the blessing. Don't beat yourself pray for Fathers help in the name of Jesus Christ He Will. He's more willing to give then we are to receive.

Thank you all for your comments ! I am thankful that I located this. I have been told that I am a "people" person & usually get along with everybody. I have met along the way a lot of people ,& have been blessed with friends. I have had some serious bumps in my life's path . I have had to forgive others, God has helped, people who have betrayed the path of friendship. God has helped me see I have been blessed by all relationships . I always pray for those who are in my life . Fortunately , most of the people in my life I have been truly blessed to know. It is difficult to see people stumble in the path to the world but I can't go that way. I have been blessed with a Christian family & close friends ! "The only thing necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing ( Edmund Burke)". Pray for all.

Brother David, the ALTER FIRE is: The Fire of the Lord, the same fire that burned up Gideon's offering, the same fire in the bush before Moses, same fire that Elijah called down, same fire that destroyed Sodom, same fire you are baptised with, the same fire on the mountain when Moses received the commandments, same fire before the children of Israel in the wilderness, same fire in Malachi 3 that purifies us, same fire in 1 Corinthians 3:15 that saves us, same fire IN REVELATION.

Aaron's son were killed because they used strange fire (probably physical) instead of the FIRE OF THE LORD.

Yes, they carried the alter fire with them, it's WITHIN US today.

Hi Dean Hi I never questioned when I was born again because it literally felt like a cool calm peaceful breeze went through me and immediately I was thinking clearer it is a innermost gut level feeling literally heart felt. Since then there are times when my head and actions aren't where they need to be or my believing actions but I know without question I have Gods Spirit in me.

My first miracle happened not saying getting born again isn't a miracle when I worked in a prefab housing plant and 1700 lbs of wood fell on me.

The ambulance came and 2 hours later I woke up in a hospital bed with lacerations around my head and the

doctor told me I couldn't move, so closed my eyes prayed to the father in the name of Jesus Christ to be healed and felt

this nice warm feeling head to toe and I sat up on the bed and had to take a leak.

The doctor freaked and said I shouldn't be able to move what happened I told Him I was healed and he walked out.

They kept me overnight for observation and I left the next day. While I was in the hospital a coworker called the room and freaked when I answered the phone because he swore I had died. Dean I'm nobody special but if God can do that for me he will do and show you anything you need just believe. P.S. Expect Him to Work He Is Our Father! God Bless

Sometimes when we are in the middle of a storm, the best we can do is just hold on to Christ. He knows our sorrows and grieves with us through painful times.

Concur, this is such an easy command of Christ and expected practice in the apostolic church times to obey. Perhaps many bristle at the thought of any sort of rite or formality in Christian practice. But I think it is perhaps a test of our love for Jesus when He said, "If you love me you will obey my commandments." The sharing of the Lord's Supper is a rite and formality, but also a command of Jesus. We should be happy to obey the Lord we love and profess.

  • Stones of Remembrance and Altars - In Reply on Leviticus 6 - 4 years ago
Wisdom's seven pillars in the Bible: according to scripture, are: fear of the Lord, instruction, knowledge, understanding, discretion, counsel, and reproof.

1 Samuel 7:7-12 depicts the Israelites under imminent attack from the Philistines. God leads them to victory, so Samuel erects a large stone and names it Ebenezer, meaning 'the stone of help'.

    Genesis 28-32+

The first Biblical reference to memorial stones comes in Genesis 28: 10-22, when Jacob set a pillar in Bethel to commemorate a powerful vision of God that he experienced while sleeping there. The experience was so striking that Jacob felt that it must be commemorated, so he erected the stone upon which he slept. [comment: Jacob built pillars all along his path. Stones of remembrance.]

    Altar Fires Leviticus 6

12 And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings.

13 The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.

    [priests oversaw the altar duties]

Comment: Pillars of stones were used to mark or commemorate something. For some of us it would be well to build a pillar of stones to remember that a major life event (like forgiveness to an individual) took place and the pile is testimony to that. For some of us, each stone is a person who wronged us, and we forgave them. Or, Maybe a fallen friend on a battlefield you want to remember forever.

No comments please. People remember others their own way. Veterans Day is set aside to remember fallen soldiers. I have a basket of rocks taken from each grave, of a soldier I honor. They are not forgotten.
  • Earl Bowman - In Reply on Psalms 144 - 4 years ago
Sunny, David penned the Psalms, but they were written by the Spirit Of the Lord (Christ).

2 Samuel 23:1 Now these be the last words of David .....

2 Samuel 23:2 The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, an his words were in my tongue.

Revelation 19:10 .....I (Christ) am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY.

It will change the whole way you view God's word when you understand the WORDS in Psalms is CHRIST speaking, not David.

The Lord (Father) is my (Christ) shepherd, I (Christ) shall not want, etc., etc.

Christ is a MAN and dependant in every WAY ON THE FATHER, as we are dependant every way on CHRIST.

Christ said I of my self I can DO NOTHING, the Father does all thing FOR (or through me).

Christ is THE BODY that HOLDS (is filled with the FULLNESS OF HIS FATHER).

We can of our selves DO NOTHING, Christ does all thing FOR (or through us).

We are the BODY that HOLDS (is filled with the FULLNESS OF CHRIST).

A body is just a vessel, that HOLDS: GOD.

Christ HOLDS the FATHER in the (his) Body, we Hold, CHRIST in our body, therefore we are ONE, the temple, were God and the Son dwell WITH US.

Ephesians 4:4 There is ONE body (MAN), and ONE Spirit (GOD).

Ephesians 4:6 One God and Father of ALL (the body(s), who is above ALL (the body(s), and through ALL (the body(S), and in you ALL (the body(s).

The Father can not be seen, so he made a body that HOLDS SPIRIT that can be seen.

Man HAS to be GIVEN this KNOWLEDGE, grace is a GIFT (given) of God.

  • Water Baptism - In Reply - 4 years ago
I read a story yesterday that people are flocking to be water baptized.

In the Book of Acts, because Israel and other places are desert, there was no water to be baptized in. I suppose a cup of water could've been used, but water was scarce. It might mean life or death. Baptism is the first act of obedience.

We need to remember that the thief on the Cross wasn't baptized. Yet Jesus told him that he would be with Jesus in Paradise that very day!

We have the Holy Spirit to help us with the New Birth. Ask Him.

    Dean,

Interesting question. I guess that the only person to evaluate a person's spiritual walk is really that person. But a trusted friend who is honest and mature can also help a person. Here are a few thoughts for self-evaluation.

    1. Is one "going trough the motions" i.e rote prayers, singing in worship services without thinking about what one is saying or to Whom you are directing your worship?

    2. Does one have a lack of interest in growing spiritually?

    3. Is one being involved strictly in "social" aspects of congregational life?

    4. Is one going trough most days without much thought about spiritual matters or especially, about God and His working in one's own life.

    5. Does one have a few very close Christian friends who are encouraging one to walk more closely with God.

I am sure that others can make even better suggestions, but, for me, I think most Christians go through times of intense spiritual growth and intimacy with the Lord and times of "just cruising along". Life's circumstances can get the better of us at times or for a season. But the Word says, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."

Asking the Holy Spirit to reveal complacency and insincere worship and attention to God and is ways always brings answers that sow us areas we need to submit to God or increase our commitment to develop disciplines that promote growth and fervor for God.
