Hi Cynthia Biblically its called sorcery [greek word pharmacia english pharmacy] now there are good and bad medicines. In regards to a relative into dope in which I have one, like anyone one else they have to be believe they have the problem.

Any quote unquote medication which alters the mind false into the category of sorcery because that is what they used the mind controls the body, alcohol is dope because if you drink enough you loose control just think about the statement the individual loses control! We who love God are called to be living sacrifices not so to speak stoned ones, no pun intented.

Years ago before I was a believer I went to the Pastor of the chutch I attended and I told him why I smoked pot, I said until you or someone shows me something that makes me feel better why should I stop. He smiled and said I understand, no beat up no your stupid just lovingly I understand.

One year later I got born again went back to see him and on meeting the first words out of His mouth were whats that light in your eyes, we talked for an hour. My deliverance started in a friends apartment when we getting high and watched the end of the greatest story ever told where it shows jesus Christ going up and saying I will be with you always even until the ends of age. That was the trigger point because I always new this world would end but where would I be. The word was the answer and still is in all categories of life. Prayerfully this helped.

Hi Billy With all due respect I see in scripture where christ runs the church and the gates of hell won't prevail against it. In the old testament I believe a eight year old child became king [Josiah ]and they found the scrolls in the temple when he was 26 years of age, when they read the laws God wrote Josiah put on sack clothe and ashes knew how far out the kingdom was ask Gods forgiveness then cleaned house. In 2 Kings 23:1-25 shows all the things he did to clean house. My point is there are women that Paul acknowledge there faith one raised timothy the next spiritual leader they weren't just nobodies then we come to mary who probably wasn't 18 years old when the angel appears and tells her she will be mother to the Son of God, and with meekness says and by the way she wasn't full of fear curiosity yep but no fear, then says be it unto me according to thy word, I like to meet more men like that with that kind of pure heart and believing. P.S. Also I'm married to a remarkable Woman of God she's indeed my spiritual backbone. Food for Thought.

Hi every one . Any one who has any doubts about the validity of water baptism today , PLEASE read Acts Ch 8 very carefully . In V 16&17 we see that the Holy Spirit was given by the act of laying on of hands by the apostles , a separate thing to water baptism . Also in V 26 we see that the Spirit expressly sent Philip to a certain place with the only purpose to baptize some one by full emersion in water , I say it again ! Philip was sent by the Spirit , to a specific place in order to baptize some one by full immersion in water ! The whole chapter is very clear and how any one can disregard what it is teaching us , me and you , is beyond me . Faith without works ? We express our faith by doing what we are told to do by God through His messengers . Read this chapter carefully pleeeeease .

Hi Sacha I endeavor not to talk about the enemy and all his functioning, my focus is on Gods Word and all He has done and continues to do in around and for us who believe. An example I think about is Noah, nobody is going to tell me that the unbelievers around him didn't heckel Him or think he was nuts. Remember He's the only man found Grace in the eyes of God that statement is incredible so this guy also is building something that perhaps has never been seen in the middle of dry land, you know they thought he had screws loose. Yet for years he built the boat ignoring the unbelief surrounded with, ring a bell Jesus Christ raising lazareth from the dead. At times in our lives we will deal with the same thing They will see and not believe which makes them without excuse. God Bless we March On.

Sister GiGi, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

There are TWO realms of understanding, man understanding with a carnal mind, or the understanding with CHRIST MIND.

Every person ever created of the dust of the earth, is God's temple, most haven't had this revealed to them, therefore, all mankind, is the CHURCH.

Every person, whether they are male or female is the WOMAN.

The MAN, Jesus Christ is the HUSBAND of the WOMAN.

1 Timothy 2:11 Let the woman (bride) learn in silence with all subjection (to Christ, her husband).

1 Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not the woman to usurp authority over the man ( Jesus Christ, the husband), but to be in silence.

1 Timothy 2:13 For (the second) Adam was NOT DECEIVED, but the WOMAN being DECEIVED was in the transgression.

1 Timothy 2:14 Notwithstanding, she (the WOMAN) shall be SAVED IN CHILDBEARING (giving birth to truth, life, the way, CHRIST IN US), if they (the CHURCH) continue in FAITH (OF CHRIST) and CHARITY (OF CHRIST) and HOLINESS (OF CHRIST) with SOBRIETY (OF CHRIST).

If the woman has questions, she should as the man, her husband, Christ. ( 1 John 2:27).

We suffer from words of rebuke by those that have NOT YET had the carnal mind DESTROYED and CREATED afresh to the mind of Christ.

Isaiah 11:9 ....for the earth shall be full of the KNOWLEDGE of the LORD ....

God bless and keep speaking HIS WORDS.

    It Is Written

Many christians when discussion believing and haith consider it to be one and the same but it is not. Believing is in the mind or thought and then is carried out in action or application. Faith is what we were given spiritually when we became born again we received the faith of Jesus Christ. Galatians 3:22-26 it states before faith came, there was no spiritual faith before pentecost because it was not available. As it says Abraham was justified by believing although the word faith is used there is a word pistis that depending on context could be translated spiritual faith or believing. We who are born again have been given the faith of Jesus Christ but we grow in our believing when we renew our minds and walk or operate the spirit we have been given.

For me to say I gotta have more faith, I can't get anymore, but I can believe greater to walk in the promises given. That's why in the church epistles it is called the faith of Jesus Christ, we grow in our walk of believing what we have been given but, spiritually we aren't going to receive anymore. This is why in the church epistles and placed in the gospels what you believe in the mind and move on determines out come in life

Its not just that we believe its also what we believe that determines outcome, the three items in the mind that restrict Believing by faith are WORRY DOUBT AND FEAR. None of which are from God. 2 Tim.1:7 is from God.

Hi every one , with regard to fasting : if you intend to completely go without any food or water you should definately speak to your doctor first . People who take medication usually need water to do so also some meds are to be taken with food and some meds can have stronger and unpleasant effects if taken on an empty stomach . Please don't embark on a total fast without talking to your doctor . Matthew Ch 4 , V 5-7 . Much love in Christ .

    Brother David,

I have profited from our discussions here regarding our salvation. Many others read our posts on KJVO, and as we write these posts I believe that God is here with us encouraging all of us to share in the food and drink in this banquet.

    Matthew 18:20

"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

    God Bless.
  • James Hops on Song of Solomon 5 - 4 years ago
Could you provide me with the Hebrew transliteration of Song of Solomon Ch 5 V 16? I was listening to it the other day and I did not hear the words that are presented here as translation.

Who is chapter 5 talking about in such praise as is apparent in verses 9 - 16?

    Best regards,

    Dr. Ir. James Hops

"Our" image is referring Jehovah, one God in three persons ( 1 John 5:7.) You see all three parts active in creation. The Spirit of God moved upon the waters ( Gen. 1:2). The Word was with God and was God. He did the actual speaking of things into existence ( John 1:1-3). This is the same Word who later became flesh and died for our sins. ( John 1:14) When He was born as a man, His fleshly self became the Son of God, and God became a Father. That is why we now say, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Hello Hafford. I'll just comment on the Scriptures you gave.

Jesus' baptism was carried out by John the Baptist. John's baptism was different to the Jewish baptism & also different to Believers' baptism (which could only occur post-Cross). John baptised "unto repentance" ( Matthew 3:11) to those who were convinced of their sins & wanted to demonstrate their contrite state. But Jesus (post-Cross) would baptize with the Holy Ghost & with Fire (which He did when He sent His Spirit to baptize first the apostles on the Day of Pentecost, & then all repentant sinners bringing them into God's family).

The Apostle Paul, after being received by Ananias, was filled with the Holy Spirit when the scales of blindness fell off. He then proceeded to be baptized with both his physical & spiritual eyes opened ( Acts 9:17,18).

1 Peter 3:21 states: "The like figure (Noah's Ark) whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ". Peter ensures that he states that water baptism is not for the cleansing of the "filth of the flesh", i.e. how the Jews understood it by a ceremonial washing for external cleansing, but Believers' baptism is an act of identification with Christ, giving the baptizee a clear conscience of receiving Christ's salvation only by faith. If salvation came by anything more than God's Grace through faith in that finished work on the Cross, then salvation is no more of faith but by works (i.e. any act by man to secure it) - Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5. As important as water baptism is to the new convert, it conveys no saving grace, as Christ's Blood alone is sufficient to deal with the sin question & the expression of our faith to secure that salvation.

    John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in Him should not Perish but have everlasting life!

Find a Bible only believing church that teaches REPENTANCE. Turning away from our sins and obeying God are imperative to living a life pleasing to The Lord.

    Welcome to the family Mike!!!

Is there scripture in the Bible that talks about drug use and people who choose them and get addicted to them like (Meth). ? Or, people who can't get away from the addiction and all the evil that follows? Or people who know God, and became addicted? This is in regards to a 32 year old who was raised Christian. Or even more helpful ..Family that continue to help and rescue him and divisions this causes. Thank you!

  • David - In Reply on Genesis 32 - 4 years ago
Gigi I don't see how Going to God in prayer would be challenging or a test of faith, prayer in its common denominator is asking God to do something i.e. help, just like a human child going to there father. It says in hebrews for us to boldly come to the throne of grace to find help in time of need.
  • David - 4 years ago
Hi Name it I believe you have missed the boat on the context of scripture here, also God has called both men and women to believe within His order there is nothing wrong with sharing opinion and heart for Gods Word.

I'm on this site frequently my position is prove all things hold fast to that which is true IT IS WRITTEN.

Hi Michael The verse is correct and their is a figure of speech in saying no not to to get the importance of the point across. Also evil communications corrupt good manners, in the east when they broke bread it wasn't just having a meal

you were spending time and discussing the days events.

this chapter gives us more energy when it comes to faith. Paul and Silas had much faith thus why they played hard until the doors of the prison were opened. this means that only God we can trust whether we are big troubles. As human we easily get tempted with situation and we always have a backing to our sin but here Paul is giving us strength that even casted in prison we can still trust in God. we have gone to so many places in searching for healing players but we forget that no one can heal us apart from us putting much trust in the almighty God the pastors , priests evangelists are just there to spread the of the massage of God, its up to us to heal ourselves with our faith in God. this is why Jesus most of the time Jesus was asking those who want to be helped that " DO YOU BELIEVE " IF the answer is yes I do then the work of Jesus was just simple" let it be the way you want" so my brothers and sisters lets believe in God that He is able to rescue us in all the times of need

Hi , I don't believe that women should run any church . However , we have congregations all over the world and brothers and sisters in isolation , if there are no brethren nearby then sisters have to organise themselves and they manage fine . Brethren are always preferable but sometimes just not possible .

I have no idea why people are reluctant to get water baptized , it boggles my mind , once I knew the Truth I was desperate to be baptized , I was scared in case I died before I could get baptized . I understand that there are circumstances where it really isn't possible , but every effort should be made . If God or Jesus tells me to do something , something so simple , I'm going to do it , why wouldn't I ? Maybe it's fear of commitment ? Who knows ? Not me cos I've been baptized !

    Dear Hafford E.Cook on Matthew-3-2

It is some ppl who dont see Jesus yet. Its alsow some ppl who have this stubburn thougths that they dont want too do anything in real. Like in Jacob 1:22. Some want too live in the mercy of Christ all the time, and some want to live only of rightshness in Christ.

But in my life am glad i go down in the wather grave. Its soo clear too me that ill get the gift from the Holy Ghost. Furter in Jacob 2:26 we have the reason too belive the Holy Bible in Jesus Holy Name. God bless

Perish the thought, sister. You are highly valued for your very Scriptural-based comments & challenges you give for our further thought & discussion. This is an open forum, with clear guidelines, so any brother, sister or another is free to share what they might have learned from their studies & spiritual revelation. We might be members of Christ's Body but we're not meeting in a Church fellowship setting where their rules for propriety, Church order & responsibility are unapplicable here. Women have always played a major & valuable part in the life of the Church & their teaching whether at home, in the marketplace, or here on KJBO, should be no different & welcomed.
