Thank God for the bible KJV since 1611 , it has set many people free and also enabled a unnumbered amount of heretics that are in many pulpits . And public places ( bible warned us it )

But at least we can read it for ourselves with the Help of God .

    Amen

I enjoy reading the comments. It is clear that the revelation of the spirit lives and reigns in the pure word of God. Paul reiterates how important it is that we exalt one another. Growing in the revelation and knowledge of the Lord Jesus! John 3;16 and 17, are the two verses I can remember. Memorization is a must! something I find difficult. Thank you for the fellowship!

It appears that many are not allowed to have a full discussion, it seems they are accused of something then cut off . This is called censorship. Will you post this comment?

Your room has a bent and does not permit a serious challenge . Just my observation, some good posts and honest questions some times . But defending the truth is not one of them .

Reading Scripture I find even More that the Bible speaks to Believers,So where does this come from that Unbelivers Preach the Word of GOD?

I question taking the breaking of bread from an unbeliver is it proper to break bread with Unbelivers? Should this not be done with fellow Believers??

I know lots of people taking the breaking of Bread with unbelivers saying,it's not between you and fellow man it's between you and God?? Hmm I don't find that in Scripture
  • Eating Heavy Bible Every Day With Jesus - 4 years ago
I can read whole books of the Bible every day. (I'm retired) I turn off the phone, the tv, get a large water and pray that my eyes and heart be open to the Holy Spirit.

He's our Teacher. Book of John 14:28,

    John 16:13-14, 1 Peter 2:2,

    1 Corinthians 3:2

If we're not quoting scripture like The Son of God, what are we learning?

Acts 19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; BUT WHO ARE YOU?!

This is what we need. More Christians quoting scripture like the Son of God.

I have visions ok. I had this one of me as a baby Christian: I was sitting on a chair by this big table. I had my arms on the table pulling food into my mouth. Everybody's face looks on with disgust. Then I hear Jesus laughing at the head of the table. He was pleased.

Jesus likes to see a healthy appetite!

If I sound kinda rowdy it's because I'm from Texas. If we all ate the Bible like Texans can pack on some barbecue, we'd all be firing scripture like the Son of God.

When Jesus was in the desert, fasting 40 days and nights: he was challenged by Satan. Jesus said, IT IS WRITTEN: and He fired off the appropriate Scripture. He defeated Satan each time. We can too. We're his disciples because we follow Him.

The only arrows in our quiver, are scriptures. Your Sword of the Spirit enlarges with Gods WORD in our mouth.

    God provides. We obey.

we need to be examples to others. Good examples. Chief rulers believed, but could not confess as they will be kicked out of the synagogue. If we mistreat people of a certain type, our children will see it and pass it on to them.

1 Peter 3:15 says to always be ready to defend the faith.

2 Corinthians 10:5 and Titus 1:9 and Matthew 7:15 suggests that we are to challenge false teachings.

This should be done in love and respect for others. It appears that some want to be able to post their various opinions to challenge others, but don't seem unwilling and perhaps not secure enough to have their ideas challenged. They seem to want to dominate with their falsehoods, but act offended and retreat in the slightest questioning of their assumptions. Some interpret even the most benign questions as argumentative or unloving, which seems to protect their narrative.

For example some don't believe John 1:1 is true. It's a strange distortion of the Word that seems only recently to have gained traction among fringe groups. We know that anyone contradicting scripture is not speaking Words from God, and if it's not from God, it should be obvious who its coming from. But many are so convinced in their own mind that all scripture viewed through that narrow lens offers confirmation bias, even though the belief itself is self-contradictory.

A Christian is a Christ follower who believes Jesus is Lord. Jesus is God. Not a separate God, not Father God, but God the Son, and He's part of the truine God. It says this clearly in John 1:1 and many other scriptures. But just because people have a hard time comprehending how He can be a Son and have a Father who is also God and also be 'one', doesn't mean people should invent human reasoning that departs from the scriptures to explain their worldview. That's where people start making up stuff and disregarding lots of scripture. Then if they don't believe in Jesus's divinity, and don't believe Jesus is Lord, then one might ask, are they then a Christian?

John 20:28 - if someone reads this and says Jesus isn't God and isn't Lord, are they being honest with themselves?

The Pharisees also didn't believe Jesus was who He said He was. They thought He was blaspheming by calling Himself God through "I AM" statements, and they wanted to kill Him.

We should pray for wisdom and understanding and stay in God's Word. God bless.

Hi Mishael Fished in south florida a lot red fish snapper and my favorite pompano, of course with sweet tea and corn bread its a southern thing. Reminds me of Jesus Christ after the resurrection serving fish to peter and the disciples in Gospel of John Chapter 21 can't wait to break bread with the brothers and sisters in paradise.

If I may one of the reasons why in the garden of eden Hell or the grave may not have been mentioned is that no one was dead yet and buried now to cover bases I said said it may be, but I see assumptions on scripture made all the time that aren't correct. One of the most popular it is assumed that the wise men and shephereds saw jesus at the same time when the scriptures don't say that. The shepherds were told babe in a manger Luke 2:12 the wise men saw a child in a house Mathew 2:1. I see people add subtract multiply and divide scripture all the time the challenge is sticking with it is written.
  • Jesus is knocking - In Reply - 4 years ago
It's means almost the same as this verse

    Revelation 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I (Jesus) will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

[The Lord knocks on the doors of our hearts. He says he will come in, break the bread of the Word of God with us.]

He does this through the person of the Holy Spirit. John 16:7

"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him to you."

    John 16:12-16

I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ. He reveals Jesus to us; and shows us what the Scriptures mean__to our born again spirits.

A person has to be born again. You might go out to the red link page, and find Become A Christian and just read that part and say the prayer that's in there.

There is nothing more wonderful than hearing him through your spirit. His Voice will NEVER frighten you. I say this when studying the Bible, "Come Holy Spirit and Teach me the Word."

  • HELL__WITH BIBLE SCRIPTURES__mishael - 4 years ago
Some believe that while Jesus' body was in the tomb, His spirit was in hell.Scripture doesn't support that position when it is taken in context and we look at the meaning of the word "hell." In the Old Testament, the place of the dead or the place of departed souls was called "SHEOL." It was to this place that all souls of the dead went to await resurrection.

In the New Testament, we find the story of Lazarus and the rich man who both died and went to Hades ( Luke 16:19-31). The KJV translates the Greek word "hades" as hell but most other translations use the Greek word. HADES had two separated parts: Those who died in faith believing in God's promise waited for the resurrection in Abraham's Bosom. Those who died spiritually separated from God wait in torment for the resurrection unto death, eternal separation from God. The rich man was on the torment side and Lazarus was in ABRAHAMS BOSOM which was called "PARADISE" by the LORD Jesus Christ himself when He addressed the thief who found faith the day Jesus was crucified ( Luke 23:42-43)

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment" ( 2 Peter 2:4). The word translated "HELL" is not the Greek word "HADES" but is the Greek word "TARTARUS" meaning ABYSS or the lowest regions. This could very well be the "gulf" that was fixed between the PLACE OF TORMENT and Abraham's Bosom ( Luke 16:26).

Wherefore He saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fulfill all things" ( Ephesians 4:8-10). Leading captivity captive seems to refer to Jesus taking all those that waited in Paradise to heaven to be with Him. The descending into the "lower parts" then refers to Jesus mission of declaring Victory

Hi Clayton My understanding in context is many will are given the call to believe in God through his son but few will make the choice and change and do walk others will try shortcuts so to speak, notice how many times he was addressing the pharisees and the sadducees and they knew he was condemning there practices. There's other aspects or points of thought.

    Hi Earl,

It sounds like you're using a single speculative assumption to suggest that hell isn't real despite the multitude of Bible verses about it?

If you believe in Jesus, wouldn't His words carry more weight than a single speculative idea? Jesus talked about hell plenty, including in: Luke 12:5 - so do you not believe Jesus?

I'll address your comment in 2 parts:

    1. You wrote: "If it's real and punishment for sin, why didn't he tell them of this place."

Maybe He did. How can you prove that He didn't? The Bible also never mentioned Adam & Eve going to the bathroom or bathing or using basic hygiene. Does that automatically mean they didn't? It also doesn't say they were "human beings" so does that mean they were lizard people or space robots? The Bible doesn't say its even a Bible, so does that automatically mean it's not one? When people use logic of what 'wasn't' said or a logic of omission, some tend to draw false assumptions and illogical inferences from that.

    2. You wrote: "Why is it that HELL only shows up when the Hebrew scriptures are translated to other langues."

That's untrue. How did you come to believe that?

Therefore he had a choice I didn't write the book.

Earl where does it say they were physically blind, that's reading into it then your other comment about leaven requires research on how leaven is used in the east and is compared to how the Gods word works and grows when used correctly for the right purpose. These are not far out mystical concepts most times they are explained in the context. He used many times eastern thought and common things in there lives daily to teach spiritual concepts to.

The will of God is our salvation. It was from the will of God that the very thought of salvation first arose. Had we been left to our own wills; we should have been willing to wander further and farther from God. No man originated the idea of restoration for our race; God himself willed it, and it is from the purpose of his grace that all our hopes begin; Spurgeon

You came from above, threw water ( what breaks on a woman just prior to birth? ) Water ,. An into the flesh, an you are here in the flesh, to decide weather you love God , or you wish to follow Lucifer,.. he left us a book , of teachings from his many prophets, to read , an study, an to ask of him for understanding, after all he is our creator, an it's he that knows us best , the first shall be last , an the last shall be first, Hell is what they called the forever burning garbage pit. Right now , there is no lake of fire , there's 2 sides of heaven, one for the people that did at least try , an had good intentions, an a not so good side for those who have not a care of anything,.. an in between there's an impassable gulf , to which keeps all on there appointed sides , NOT a final judgement here , just a slight decrement on how those have acted ( WORKS ) , upon Jesus' death at that 9th hour, that curtain of the holy of holy's was rent TOP to bottom, meaning ALL were welcomed to pray an ask of our lord,.. you need no man , woman , no church, an you need not say it out loud, tho you may certainly say it a loud ,. But in a quiet, an personal space , not making yourself some sort of big shot holy roller ,.. pray , repent, an seek wisdom,.. if your of serious an honest seeker , it shall be given,.. slowly an truthful,. So as you May grow in knowledge,.

    Peace

Brother Adam, wouldn't you think when God told Adam and Eve not to eat of the tree of KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL, he would have told them that their punishment would be HELL. If it's real and punishment for sin, why didn't he tell them of this place.

Why is it that HELL only shows up when the Hebrew scriptures are translated to other langues.
  • David - In Reply - 4 years ago
Fred and Adam I see again where what is stated is pulled out of context I never said I did't believe in hell the subject matter was is it Gods will for some one to Go to hell the answer no its there choice by unbelief. Don't throw throw scripture that are out of context to subject matter. We also didn't discuss being born again or not born again which would change context of conversation and if this is the way you communicate I'll be blessed to end this and say peace to both of you. Hell and damnation are both real now if you both want to choose who goes there and who doesn't my position is those without sin cast the first stone. I thought Gods will was to save those that choose to believe which was the context which has nothing to do with what you both commented on.

Brother Earl - Thank you for your 4 in depth replies, I have read them all and in much agreement with the understanding given. Much has been given and the latter glimpse of heaven is that part that I am waiting on the Lord for more revelation. Might need to simmer for awhile in my spirit. Sorry for yesterday's post, I was in much hurry but since it was a 2nd witness to me, I thought I'd better respond. In the mouth of 2 or 3 eyewitnesses, let every word be established. God gives us a word from His spirit and confirms it by His word. Like you said these can be hidden at times - that's why no eye can see and no ear can hear the things that God has prepared for us. 1 Cor 2:7 (even the hidden wisdom).

I just wanted to thank you Earl for all of your posts. You are a very kind person and have really touched my heart over the past months even since April. My wife and I lost our oldest son last December, -he would have been 21 in April from the fentanyl pandemic. He took 1 pill from a person thinking it was Xanax and never woke up, we found him in the morning in his bed and tried to revive him. He had given his life to Christ at 7 and I know that he is with him, but I still very much miss him. The Lord has been very faithful with His love and comfort. I would tell any parents out there to take more videos of their kids if they can, you'll never know if today is your last hug. He had the brightest smile and genuinely had unconditional love for every one he met. Caleb has given me many blessing since then as I reflect and I have felt his presence on occasion. I'm always telling God that Caleb is done spying out the promise land and its now time for his return. I will always believe the good report of heavenly father.

Again, thank you Earl for your deep insights - May God bless us all as we go forward in these uncertain times. At least His word is certain.
