Thank you R L W , my wife is a sensitive soul and the thought that there might be resentment towards her sharing her enthusiasm for the Truth because she is a woman , distresses her . We are a small congregation and during lockdown last year she had a hankering for some extra fellowship and so came on here . Sadly it hasn't worked out but she mentions you as one of the good guys and sends you blessings and love in Christ as do I .

Dear friend in Jesus Christ. I'll have to put something in anyway, and ask why you dont fill all the script in your reference in

1 Corinthians 11:11-16 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.

12For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.

13Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?

14Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

15But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

16But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

This is alsow a spiritually picture of a Man and Wife, like King and Queen, like Jesus and His Bride.

God bless us all in Jesus Name

Imo, the reason I posted about John 3:16, is I get Irked when I constantly see the RELIGIOUS trying to Improve on, Add too, or Complete all that's Needed to be SAVED, that Jesus Completed on the cross. They can't seem to grasp...

GOD Saves us-When we BELIEVE-HE Gave us-HIS SON JESUS-as a Sacrifice-to cover our sins. PERIOD!

ALL additional Words and Works Man tries to Add to SALVATION are supporting Details implicit in the Gospel...such as...

REPENT...all we must Repent of is the Unbelief in the Gospel...FAITH..we Believe and Receive by Faith...BLOOD is implicit in sacrificial Death of Christ...GRACE is God's Loving Act of sacrificing His Son...The CROSS...is the Tool used to sacrifice Jesus...DEATH BURIAL RESURRECTION are part of the sacrificial process...but again GOD SAVES us, by Jesus the Gift, through the Power of the Holy Spirit. :)

Yes Jewell. That is exactly what 1 Timothy 2:12 is saying. The Apostle Paul in other letters spoke about the order of creation, just as he referred to here in verse 13. In 1 Corinthians 11:2,3,8,9 and Ephesians 5:23, Paul gives those details again to the Corinthian & Ephesian Churches.

The reason for giving this order, was not that Paul had something against women or of their abilities in teaching & using their other gifts & talents, but that within Church worship, before God & His angels, the prescribed order of ministry must be observed. And this he instructed young Timothy, who was left in charge of the ministry in Ephesus & generally in Asia Minor. As capable as women may be in teaching, within the Church, the task of administering, leading & teaching from the Word was incumbent upon the brothers. Elders who were ordained in every Church ( Acts 14:23) were men & they also had been enabled by God to teach & lead the flock of God.

All you contribute to John 3:16 and my post is, "It's a great verse," and then you go off, and on to your topics.

Again, God made it beautiful and simple enough for a child, or even an atheist to understand and be Saved.

The religious can't grasp or appreciate the profound Beauty Simplicity and Completeness of the Gospel, and forever try to add their words and works.

They can't accept what Jesus did and said on the cross that, "IT IS FINISHED...and that,

GOD Saves us...When we BELIEVE...HE Gave us HIS SON Jesus...as a Sacrifice-to Cover our Sins....PERIOD!

Many try to site other verses, but they are just supporting the details implicit to John 3:16.

I have not been to church or read the bible in years, but I own ten and did read it about ten times. Actually, the bible, other than text books, is the only book I've read in the past 50 years, but I did compose a simple hymn called the BIBLE...along with others not so simple.

I'd appreciate any Good and Godly comments about John 3:16. Thank you. :)

Hello Take no Thought, The Holy Spirit is peace in us. Do we need to defend our peace? We certainly like to defend our righteousness as it pleases ourselves a bit, however often the Holy Spirit does not witness to our thoughts of righteousness. I am happy to know that you are the husband of Sacha and she is the wife of you. God bless your home together in peace and in His righteousness and order. Perhaps someday my wife will write a post here too and share her heart. She is a good communicator too of God's blessings in her heart. Likely you are my elder and that is an order that God blesses, yet we are one in Christ Jesus, at His feet, in His healing stream. Keep the faith. I will think of your flat over the square as a warm blessing of love between husband and wife of one faith. I have never felt offended by anything written by Sacha. Rained here this evening, good for the harvest.

Hello Shirley. There's not a lot written about the man, Canaan, unlike the many references throughout the Old Testament to the Land of Canaan, its people, its idolatry, wars, etc. Since you're doing an essay on the man himself, the only references are in Genesis chapters 9 & Genesis 10:15; 1 Chronicles 1:8-16; and The Book of Jubilees (this is a pseudepigraphical book, i.e. one not considered worthy in content or authorship to be included into the Canon of Scripture), where you will find reference to Canaan (Jubilees 9:1; 10:29-34). I never use such books because of errors within them, but suggest this for your perusal (you can find exercepts of it on the Web) in case there may be something useful there.

    Jewelyn,

The things that happened in Matthew Chapter 2 happened under the direction of the intervention of God. The bible never tells us that there were three wise men. We don't know how many there were but it was probably much more than three. The number three is tradition and it comes from the three gifts that were presented. These men were a cast a Persian priests. They were sorcerers and magicians and they always traveled in large groups, so it is highly unlikely that there were only three of them.

But if you remember, Herod said come back and tell me so that I can come and worship Him also? The Magi had no idea they were being deceived. They had no idea that Herod was setting up a plot to kill Jesus.

But God intervened and warned them. He instructed them. That's what the term "divinely warned" means. It means they were instructed by God not to go back the same way they came, but to go back a different way.

So they did not go back to Jerusalem, and they did not go back to tell Herod.

    Hi Diane,

I've been away for a while so I'm not sure if you're responding to someone or you are asking this question for yourself? Either way, what leads me to believe that James is the half-brother of Jesus is that after Jesus was born, Mary and Joseph had other children. We know that Jesus had four half-brothers, James, Joses, Simon, and Judas (Jude), and at least two half-sisters.

Paul says in Galatians 1:19, "But other of the apostles I didn't see, except for James the Lord's brother." This would be the Lord's half-brother, also the author of the book of James. What would make James the Lord's half-brother is that they shared the same mother, but different fathers.

There is far too much concern for "sugar-coating" death and the residence of the soul upon death and prior to the resurrection.

I have not found a single bible verse that clearly states where a Christian soul resides prior to the return of Christ to gather His church to Him in the air.

The phrase "They are smiling down on you from heaven" has no biblical verses as its proof.

Too much interpretation of the bible by some poor and simple-minded humans, when compared to the mind of God, make verses MEAN WHAT THEY WANT, NOT WHAT THE VERSE IS ACTUALLY SAYING. Examples:

    1. Revelation 1:10 is said to refer to Sunday, and thus John was worshiping on Sunday and that made it OK for all Christians to observe Sunday in place of the Sabbath and ordained Sunday as the appointed day of worship for all Christians. Incorrect interpretation to fill a need for justifying Sunday worship.

Why do I say this? First, there is no verse to back up the day being Sunday; every day is "The Lord's Day". Second, neither God nor Christ designated ANY Day as the day of worship. Third, the Sabbath Day is a day of REST, not worship in a communal setting. Fourth, Revelation is a visionary experience, not a worship service.

    2. Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ always on a Sunday (thank the Roman Church for this by the way). This too is the result of humans doctoring the scriptures. The Gospels key the crucifixion to the Jewish Passover which moves across the Jewish calendar and not a set day each year.

    3. The Easter sunrise worship service is not based on scripture. The Gospels clearly state Christ had risen before sunrise on what we call Sunday as the ladies never saw the resurrection, just the empty tomb and then later Christ.

Final point, if the Christian soul is immediately taken to heaven and returns with Christ for the church gathering, there will be no appearance of any Christian before the White Throne as they are previously admitted to eternity in heaven.

Is oral sex a sin even between a married couple? I believe it is because scripture says sodomites won't enter into Heaven. Some dictionaries says that a sodomite is a person who does anal sex and oral sex. Some dictionaries just say anal sex. Also I would think that it IS because that's the type of sex that they had in Sodom and Gomorrah. That's the type of sex homosexuals do male and female does in homosexual lesbian acts. I believe in Songs of Solomon they said that the Bible scholars that interpreted the Bible said oral sex was done between a married man and woman. I read the scriptures. Some Pastors say that that scripture is talking about anal sex between two men or homosexuality. They say oral sex is NOT a sin if you're a married male and female. They say NO if both parties (married man and woman)agree on the oral sex then it's alright. I know fornication and homosexuality and lesbian is a sin. What do you have to say about the oral sex thing. I'm looking for a Bible serious answer because I know about if you're married not to withhold sex from your wife or husband.

I too don't believe there's any symbolism in that sad picture of Noah. He was farmer having a vineyard & imbibed a little too much in his fermented product, probably after a hard day's work. As a result of his drinking & maybe the warm conditions in his tent, he laid aside his garment & fell asleep. Some like to read that passage, that his wife was also there & they were intimate together. Others believe that Ham engaged with his mother. All these are theories from a fertile imagination & find no basis in what is given to us here.

Though 'Christianity' is not seen here because of the era of those events, we can note & take heed to grievous & sometimes, humiliating effect of alcohol consumption. Ephesians 5:18 warns Christians 'not to be drunk with wine, but rather to be filled with God's Spirit'. Don't fill yourself with alcohol that can lead one to sin & embarrassment, but fill yourself with the real, pure, enriching Spirit of God Who will lead us in what God requires of His children.

May God help you dear friend understand more from His precious Word, leading you into His Light & Salvation. We're here to help you & guide you in God's Word.

Thank you so much for your kind and supportive words. The girls are in counseling. And they do have church every Sunday. We do do family dinners and we Dupre at dinner time every night. I asked the girls to pray before they go to sleep at night as well in any other time that they feel they need to talk to God to do so. I have been reading through the Bible right now plus they have a daily devotional for kids their age. The Bible that the reading right now is for children her age so they can understand it. But it is a king James version. My other two older daughters a very involved. You've always been a very close family. Some days are harder than others, because the girls were never taught right from wrong, I respect your elders and how to respect themselves. They've been with us since we were 7&8 in February for the 11 and 12. they don't appreciate anything because everything I think ever had has been stolen or taken away wait when they have lost a home, because their mother didn't pay the rent she use the money for other things. They grew up seeing their mother take what she wanted from others and to do what she wanted no matter what the consequences were. I think that it's OK to do. I pray for these girls every night every day that God will help him to see that they need to change their ways so that they can be happy little girls without any cares in the world. Been almost 3 years and they still take food and hide it, they still yell at me and tell me what they're gonna do and if they don't have to do anything that I tell him. They know that I won't spank him only thing I do is take things from them, one time I was going to spank Hazel because she was being very very bad and she hurt me so bad she ended up hitting me and hurting me. Now she tells me you can't make me do anything that I don't want to.

You're right there Alice. Judges chapters 6 through to 8 speak of Gideon & his exploits. When you see the name 'Jerubbaal', this also refers to Gideon, a name given to him because he tore down the altars of baal.

Hi Jeanette. A day's journey would be between sunrise & sunset, yet allowing for factors such as prevailing weather conditions, ability of the travellers, & time constraints. However, a rough estimate would be approx. 25 miles per day, though this figure could be altered depending on the above factors.

Thank you David. May I refer you to a few OT & NT Scriptures: Exodus 33:7; Proverbs 1:20; Ezekiel 41:17. And Matthew 12:46,47; Matthew 26:69; Hebrews 13:13. These show the intended meaning of 'without' as seen & understood in Genesis 9:22.

But if you still believe that Genesis 9:22 is incomplete, I would be very interested, like Adam, to know where you learned this & the relevant references so we can research this as you have done. In anticipation I remain.

    Hi Brother Ronald.

You are right, there is so much that is not given in scripture so most is conjectural.

I also believe Adam lived in a different environment for lack of better terms, "Before sin entered the world."

A big question that troubles me is the word naked. It seems it carries more of a spiritual meaning than nudity often in scripture.

I believe often it's the opposite of being clothed with righteousness in a way mentioned here in Isaiah 61:10-11.

The question is was Adam and Eve naked spiritually before eating of the tree of "knowledge of good and evil and perhaps they were clothed in a way mentioned in Ezekiel 16:7-15. We know good and evil existed long before Adam. "But they had no knowledge of it until they ate if the fruit. Look at Genesis 3:17. in that context, ( AND THE EYES OF THEM BOTH WERE OPENED,)....( and they knew that they were naked;...) and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

I believe as you do Adam and Jesus Christ is all part of Gods plan that was before this world and I feel it involves Satan because this plan, that was before this world, included the lake of fire that was prepared for the devil and his angels.

I believe in the Gap theory, Not as some do and try to fit the Dinosaurs into that gap or any other life existence that we know of, I believe they were all created in the Genesis account. I believe Lucifer may possibly have had a dominion here on earth in that Gap.

Here's why. Ezekiel 28:13. ( Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; ) every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

The account in Genesis Lucifer has already fallen, He's not adorned as mentioned in Ezekiel 28. " I believe this fallen mentioned here is positionally. and. "Down to Earth."

    until next time.

    GBU.

Discovering Noah's nakedness; means Ham , slept with his wife. ( mother ) This is of course not well taught, an often harshly scrutinized by many , but it's the plain simple facts.
