We are not given a description of the tree and it is most certainly not any tree that exists today. It is traditionally depicted as an apple tree.

It was a Fig tree. It was the closest to Adam and Eve. Genesis 3:7. And the eyes of them both were opened, thy sewed fig leaves together, and made them selves.

    Sony,

Are we not all children of God?

If yes, then are we not all brothers and sisters?

Is Jesus Christ everyone's brother? Did Christ say he came to save the unrighteous?

Can someone be unrighteous today, but repent and become righteous tomorrow?

We should judge not, lest we be judged.

We are supposed to Love All, and let Jesus/God be the judge!

    God Bless.
  • Remember to Keep Holy the Sabbath Day - 4 years ago
It seems that many people today deny that the world was created by God.

Even many professing christians forget or just ignore to keep Holy the weekly seventh-day Sabbath, which God implemented for memorializing His creation. It is the 4th commandment, and God asks us to make sure to remember it.

    Exodus 20:9-11

9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

How can we honor God today, and prove to Jesus that we really love Him?

    John 14:15

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

    Happy Sabbath Day!

Dear Hope , there is so much that can be said about Jesus and the things that were revealed in the New Testament regarding women . How about the lady who had had an issue of blood for twelve years ? She should have been at home in isolation because her condition meant that she was pretty much permanently unclean , instead she mingled with a throng of people and touched Christ's garment . What was his response to her ? Is this in any way connected to the events in Genesis and the curse that was put on women because of Eve's sin ? I could say more about this and other signifant instances regarding women but I'm not going to . What's the point . May God bless you my sister in Christ .

Dear Sony, I agree that we really need to be able to greet one another and fellowship in person to know how things really are. But we can by faith and goodwill reach out to others by writing our thoughts and reading other's thoughts. Regarding the use of the word "brother" for me it is ok to use the title if one likes by giving confidence that we are in the same race. However, to really know a brother in the faith our lives must be proven together. Where we examine together whether be in the faith once delivered. When a smaller body of believers believes together that they have searched their lives together and believe they have peace with God and man, then they can be of a communion spirit. Hereby we can truly remember Jesus as our Savior and share the cup and the bread in unison. This healthy body can prove together new members born again testimonies, they can sing praises more clearly, they can both literally and spiritually wash each other's feet. I am not at all offended in the words used in a salutation if they are kind. I like your thoughts. It is very difficult but sometimes rewarding to move forward as brothers of peace in Christ Jesus on a website where we can trust that we are on the road to Emmaus conversing together while Jesus draws nigh unto us. Finally it is a short walk, truly only Jesus knows our hearts. Do we know Him, does he know us? Love to all brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.

That is a question that has been asked for ages. Some feel that the devil knows your thoughts, while most others don't.

Scripture does not give a definite answer on that subject but scripture does indicate that not only the devil but some angelic beings have access to one's mind _ Acts 5:3 Satan filled the heart of Ananias _ Luke 22:3 Satan entered Judas _ Matthew 1:20 -25 an angel came to Joseph in a dream _ Genesis 31:11 an angel of the Lord spoke to Jacob in a dream. One can argue that to have access to one's mine doesn't mean they can read your thoughts.

    And there are these scriptures

Job 1:7-12 Satan before God discusses Job and the amount of access he can have to Just.

Ephesians 6:11-16 discusses to put on the whole armor of God and to *quench* the fiery darts of Satan.

James 4:7 tells us to *resist* the devil and *he will flee*.

1st Peter 5:8 tells us Satan is like a roaring lion *seeking* whom he can *devour.*

Revelation 12:10-12 the devil stands before God day and night accusing man, and woe to the inhabitants of the earth the devil has come down.

Scripture is clear - Jesus knew one's thoughts even while in a flesh body Matthew 9:4. To Jesus the spirit was given to him without measure John 3:34.

I believe Satan and certain angels have the ability to read some of someone's thoughts and Satan, being the accuser is allowed to influence those thoughts. I feel Satan and the angelic beings who have access to any thoughts of the minds/hearts of mankind are given a limited measure, unlike God who has full measure. Example what I'm going to eat for breakfast or what type of clothes I'm going to wear any given day isn't something they would need access to or even care about. But the part of the mind our decisions are made against good or for what we know is right, Satan knows our thoughts.
  • Chris - In Reply on Ezekiel 16 - 4 years ago
Hello Agness. Apart from a hardcover Commentary on Ezekiel (or on the Old Testament), available from Christian bookstores, you can look at Sites such as Bible Hub, which give a selection of Commentators on a verse-by-verse commentary - might be heavy going but worth it if you're focussed on an in-depth study of Ezekiel.

But to give you an outline to work on: Ezekiel was from a priestly family (1:3) & his name means "God strengthens". He spent his early years in Jerusalem until the captivity to Babylon, alongwith the other hostages. Over there he settled in his own house by the river Chebar (3:15,24), & prophesied for at least 22 years. His wife died about 10 years after being exiled, from a stroke or a plague (24:16-18).

He ministered to the exiles in Babylon at the same time that the prophet Jeremiah was ministering to the Jews in Palestine. His ministerial thrust was to keep before the exiles, not only the sins they had committed that brought on God's Judgement, but to also assure them of God's future blessing by His keeping of His Covenant with them.

The general breakdown of the chapters can be seen as thus: Chapters 1 to 3 (Ezekiel's Call & Commissioning); Chapters 4 to 24 (Prophecies against Judah & Jerusalem); Chapters 25 to 32 (Prophecies against foreign nations); Chapters 33 to 39 (Prophecies of Israel's restoration); and Chapters 40 to 48 (Prophecies concerning Israel in the coming Millenial Kingdom).

I realize I've given a very brief outline to you, but hopefully it will help you focus on Ezekiel, the man & his ministry & God's Word to them (& for us to learn from). You will need a comprehensive commentary if you want to do an in-depth study. Every blessing in your studies.

Can we really know people we never met in real life , on the internet only ?

My experience has been no we can not fully know them .

Certainly not enough to call them brother , words need to be backed up by actions etc.

We cannot know their daily life having not seeing it .

In the New Testament they gave letters of recommendations, apostle Paul often did this in his letters . That was even in real life , not just an internet life of words only . Telephone is much better than internet or video than just words .

Be careful and prove people out before excepting them in seen .

My experience is they are not the same in real life as on the internet.

Someone need to read Joel 2:28 also Acts 2:17, and stop putting a woman down. It was a woman who said come see a man who told me all i done and a whole town followed her to see Jesus, and what about the woman who went and told the men that Jesus has risen the men follow her back to the tomb. • Islands or Isles of the Sea - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Islands of the Sea

    Wesley's Notes for Isaiah 41:1

41:1 Keep silence - Attend diligently to my plea. Islands - By islands he means countries remote from Judea, inhabited by the idolatrous Gentiles. Renew - Strengthen themselves to maintain their cause against me; let them unite all their strength together. Near - Unto me that we may stand together, and plead our cause, and I will give them free liberty to say what they can on their own behalf.

[you can use the search (box) engine to read all of the "islands of the sea" or "isles" scriptures]

This is what I was taught: that these islands are actually other continents bordered by water (seas or oceans). Presumably Gentile. No where near the Mideast regions.

The Sea of Galilee, the Jordan River, the Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea are mentioned a number of times in both the Old and New Testaments. Each the the three bodies of water serves as geographical boundary markers in Numbers 34:1-12.

    Ezekiel 26:15-18 (sounds like NYC)

    Jeremiah 2:10-11,

    Jeremiah 31:10, Isaiah 60:9,

    Isaiah 42:10, 11:11, 24:25, 66:19, Daniel 11:18

The USA is bordered on 3 sides by water and would be considered an island.

    Dwight,

I think Chris gave a great answer. I have to admit that James and John are my favorites. If you ever get the time to study the personalities of these two individuals, you will find them very interesting.

You've got two of these big burly fishermen, who basically are walking through the villages, and if the village won't receive Jesus, they come and they say we will call fire down from heaven and we will just destroy it, wipe them out! And the Lord is like "Take it easy fellas, I didn't come to destroy people, I came to save people."

The Bible speaks of familiar spirits. They're basically Spies, that follow people, generations or us. They watch what we say or do, and report to the chain of command.

You can see this in Job 1. Satan spied on Job because Job was a righteous man. I'm sure Job did not know why his life was being destroyed.

But no matter the events, he held onto his faith.

I had to learn early that sneaking around hides absolutely nothing. God is Omnipresent, and Satan and his demons, are invisible. Ephesians 6

However :D. The evil beings Are Not Human. They are outlaws and cannot borrow a Believers body to get around. But they can borrow a wicked human being if they consent; such as witches, warlocks, voodoo practitioners and psychics. Beware of card readers and astrology.

Like Halloween. It's a major "Holy Day" for witches: and call for human sacrifices. (Christmas and Passover too). Keep an eye on your children.

I took my kid roller skating, fall festivals. I gave him 20 dollars to buy any kind of candy he wanted (on the way home). No Halloween candy! He had fun, he had candy, I was relieved.

    Revelation 22:2

In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the Tree of Life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

I found this when I was searching for the Ark of the Covenant. I'm not sure the Ark of the Covenant being in heaven as the scriptures show. I think it will be at the Battle of Armageddon. Guess I'll have to wait and see.

Neither has been found. Archaeologists have nothing. They think they found the location of Eden, but cannot find any proof of human remains or relics. Interesting

Hello Dwight. It was James & his brother John, whom the Lord referred to as "The sons of thunder" ( Mark 3:17).

We can't be too clear on why the Lord spoke of them in this way, but it might refer to their fiery zeal, as seen for example, in their wish to call down fire from heaven on the Samaritans ( Luke 9:54), and John's proactive stance to stop the work of one who cast out devils ( Luke 9:49), or even the prayer of their mother that her sons might sit on the Lord's right & left hand in His kingdom ( Matthew 20:21); maybe this wilfulness, boldness, & zeal ran in that family. Pure speculation of course.

Hello, Perhaps these vials have a lot to do with cause and effect. In the day that we live, many minds are turned towards violence and corruption. We can feed on news/entertainments that have these evils, which increases demand, which increases our fleshly appetites. Might God while time remains in the flesh pronounce judgements upon man, while yet there remain saints that have transparent lives in the flesh saved by grace (where the mark of faith is in Jesus as he is first in our minds). Oh, but the beast cannot stand not having his mark on the saints and prophets in the earth. The plagues of Revelation 15 and the vials of Revelation 16 can be seen in effect today. The opposing army of Armageddon is a mystery that has perhaps its answer in a sudden end of time. Thus we must watch and pray in our day how this battle for our soul is playing.

1 Corinthians 13:8-10 Precious friends, Has the "gift" of tongues ceased? Some say no. What Saith The PERFECT Scriptures {or Are They PERFECT?}:

"Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when That Which Is Perfect Is Come, then that which is in part shall be done away."

IF "The Scriptures Are PERFECT, And, Since They Have Already Come," Then the "gift" of tongues has ceased. Do some believe in IMperfect Scriptures, so tongues have Not ceased? IF so, then how do they "know The PERFECT Truth Of God," calling it IMperfect? What Saith The HOLY Scriptures?:

    1) Paul "Completed or Filled Up" The Scriptures With Romans Through Philemon, Which Show us God's 'Program' Of Pure GRACE In HIS "Revelation Of The MYSTERY" For Today's "Dispensation Of God, 'Full-Filling' God's Word Of Truth!" Colossians 1:25

    2) God HIMSELF Considers HIS Word PERFECT, Else Why Would HE "Do The Following"?:

"I will worship toward THY holy temple, and praise THY Name for THY Lovingkindness and for THY Truth: for THOU Hast 'Magnified' Thy WORD Above All THY {Perfect!} Name!" Psalms 138:2 cp Psalms 12:6-7 "God's Pure And Preserved Word," Correct?

    3) Since God Does Not have these three "gifts of prophecy, tongues, and word of knowledge" in effect, today, What Does HE "have In Effect"? What Saith The Scriptures?:

"And NOW Abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but The Greatest of these is Charity!" 1 Corinthians 13:13 PERFECT Truth, Correct, Precious friends?

Please Be Richly Encouraged, Enlightened, Exhorted, and Edified!

2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 16:25; Ephesians 1:3-9; Ephesians 3:9 = Grace/Mystery fellowship [Romans - Philemon], For ALL "to SEE," today, since "that which is in part has been done away" ( 1Co 13:10 )?

Hello Bob. This chapter speaks about the Great Tribulation days, when those left on the Earth, subscribe to the Anti-Christ's demands & worship him. It is upon those who will suffer under God's Wrath & receive this "noisome and grievous sore" (or, an evil/malicious festering sore/ulcer) cf: Exodus 9:8-10 (of God's Anger to the Egyptians) - and this was only the first vial of God's Wrath during that extended period of time. Much more horrors to come. From the texts pertaining to this time in history, it would be difficult to corroborate the Covid vaccine's present effects felt by some, with that Scripture.
