Precious 2nd Corinthians 5, Excellent verses about the 'dead In Christ' IMMEDIATELY "in His Presence - Scripture Also Has This:

Php 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die IS GAIN.

Php 1:23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to Be WITH Christ; which is FAR BETTER:

I see no Scriptural 'Reason' to interpret death as 'soul [unconscious] sleep WITH the body in the ground,' some Even believing in 'NON existence' {crazy, eh?}, With Scriptural Confirmation of:

"souls that are Conscious and crying out" ( Revelation 6:9-11) Amen?

Jesse, thank you so much for answering my question. It is something I have wondered for a long time and could not find anyone I knew that could answer it. It appears several times in Revelation and I can now read it with more understanding.

Also, do you know why the tribe of Dan is not included in the 144,000? It names all the other tribes including the 2 tribes of Joseph, but not Dan. In reading the Old Testament, I see many reasons why Ephraim could have been omitted, but have not found why Dan. Ephraim is not specifically named but is referred to as 'of the tribe of Joseph'.

As to the Carla Bartow to whom you refer, I don't know of any. My Dad was the youngest of 13 children and was 20 some years younger than the oldest. Several had large families, most of which were in the western Nebraska area. We moved to Missouri when I was 2 and because in the 40's and 50's money was short, we did not visit them. There were also members of my grandfather's family in Pennsylvania and Oklahoma, but we never met them.

Again, thank you very much for your help.

Precious friend(s), My family and I (3) have had the covid, and, Praise God, have 'recovered.' Our "immunity" should be good for another year, Correct?

I am retired, and Yes, I believe in the freedom to research / 'discuss' this with the family physician, and having the 'choice' of what's BEST for us, whether it is the mandated 'death' injection, OR, "the antiviral meds that work like HCQ and Ivermectin" {thanks Adam}, or, is not there now something called the 'Monoclonal Antibodies' that are also Very Effective?

Precious Dan, Thanks So Much for this Great Discussion. You said: "If you follow Jesus you will listen to what He says in scripture" Now, Concerning this and the 'One' Baptism, I say:

So, we know The Scriptures about baptisms, but simply disagree on 'the weight' of Jesus' Words?

Q: As opposed to what 'other' words are there? ie:

    (1) The 4 gospels Jesus' words of 'prophecy' to the twelve, {heavily weighted?}, or:

    (2) Christ's Word's of The Revelation Of The Mystery {lesser weighted?}, to Paul, Under Grace, for us, today? ie:

...the commandments we gave you By The LORD JESUS ( 1 Thessalonians 4:2)

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to Wholesome Words, Even The Words Of The LORD JESUS CHRIST... ( 1 Timothy 6:3)

Hold fast the form of Sound Words, Which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in CHRIST JESUS ( 2 Timothy 1:13)

methinks, instead of 'weighing' Them, it should be more like "Which Words 'Are Directly To' us," From CHRIST, Teaching us The 'One' Baptism we "need to enter the kingdom"...

So, Dan, "Which Words" do we obey, Today, Under GRACE?

    Brother Spencer,

All is well, thank you so much for asking. That means a lot to me. I have been away from here for a bit. I took a trip to Flagstaff AZ for a Bluegrass music festival. I play guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro, and a little bit of fiddle too (Not so good on the fiddle, but learning, just enough to get by)! I had a lot of fun getting together with some other musicians and doing a little "jamming." Bluegrass Gospel is my favorite music!

Anyway, I am taking another 3-week trip to see my grandkids. I'll probably be in and out of here as time permits. But all is well. Thanks again for checking up on me. No matter the circumstance, whether good or bad, the Lord is good. God Bless!!!

    Carol,

The word Nicolaitan is actually made up of two Greek words. The first word is pronounced "Nee-kay" which is the Greek word that means to overcome. It is actually spelled like the sneaker with the swoosh mark on it. I can't spell it out because this site will reject it as advertisement. The second Greek word is LAOS which means the people.

So the word Nicolaitan represented the democratic control of the people in the church, where the leaders ruled and lorded it over the flock. And the Lord says He hates that. Jesus Christ is still the head over the church, not the church leaders, or so called Nicolaitans. God speaks to His people in the church and in the congregations, and those in ministry positions need to be sensitive and humbled to that fact.

In the church, we are all equal. No one should lord and rule over us because Christ is our Lord. If God wanted me to be a leader, it would not be because I am more special than any other believer. He might call me to that particular function, but that doesn't mean that once I start functioning in that area, that I know the Lord better than anyone else.

Many churches over the years have fallen because the leaders took human control over the church, and these leaders themselves were not governed by God's Spirit. So church leaders are not there to rule and lord over God's people. The human democracy over God's people, God says He hates! That's who the Nicolaitans are!

If I may ask, I have a friend Carla Bartow (Patterson) who has a sister named Carol Bartow. Would that be you?

    Jesus said Matthew 24.4,5

Jesus said unto them , take heed that no man deceive you .

Many shall come in my name , and shall deceive many .

They have been around a long time and still going strong .

    Take heed !

The believer's love for the Son OF GOD Jesus Christ is hear represented, by the love of David for Jonathan, in a powerfull way, because it is written that it surpasses the love for women. I understand it, as above any other human love. It means for me having a love above all for God, because it's written. Love the Lord your God from all your heart (emotions ), your soul ( mind and autocontrol ) and your might ( will of power ) .

Hi Adam, thank you for your prayer and thoughts/encouragement!

I do agree with you on Ephesians 2:8-9. It seems Gods word is teaching both somewhat paradoxically.

Here is an insert from a commentary I find helpful:

    a. For by grace you have been saved: Paul cannot speak of this glorious work God does without reminding us that it is a gift of grace, given to the undeserving. We are not even saved by our faith (though faith itself is not a work), but by grace through faith.

ii. "The precise form of words here stresses two things. As consistently emphasized by Paul, it is entirely of His grace, His free, undeserved favour to mankind. Then also this salvation is presented as an accomplished fact." (Foulkes)

    b. And that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: The work of salvation is God's gift. Paul's grammar here indicates that the words apply to the gift of salvation mentioned in Ephesians 2:4-8, and not directly to the faith mentioned in this verse.

    i. Clarke emphatically states that the original Greek is clear in noting that when it says it is the gift of God, the it referred to is salvation, not faith. The great Greek scholar Dean Alford also clearly pointed out that the this not of yourselves referred to salvation, not to faith in this passage.

ii. Yet, even our faith is a gift of God. We cannot believe in Jesus unless God does a prior work in us, for we are blinded by our own deadness and by the god of this age ( 2 Corinthians 4:4).

iii. "But it may be asked: Is not faith the gift of God? Yes, as to the grace by which it is produced; but the grace or power to believe, and the act of believing, are two different things. Without the grace or power to believe no man ever did or can believe; but with that power the act of faith is a man's own. God never believes for any man, no more than he repents for him; the penitent, through this grace enabling him, believes for himself."

Hi Dusty , I can only tell you what I think , others may disagree . I believe that the two witnesses are the Israelites or Jews if you prefer , and the Christians . Somewhere , I think in Isaiah but I can't be sure without checking , God actually says , you are my witnesses , the Israelites in the desert and in Egypt before the dessert , witnessed amazing miracles and manifestations of God , I also believe that all the Jews who saw Jesus and the things he did by the power of his Father are witnesses , some of them believed and became what we call Christians , others rejected him . These are just my thoughts . Hope they help not hinder you .

  • The First Marriage - In Reply on Proverbs 31 - 4 years ago
    GENESIS 2

18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an HELP meet for him.

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an HELP MEET for him.

    21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now BONE OF MY BONE and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: AND THEY SHALL BE ONE FLESH.

25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

As long as we reverence the exclusivity of the marriage there will be less problems. Often relatives, siblings, parents, friends; try to speak their ideas into your marriage. So in verse 24 we see that it is dangerous to allow others to judge your marriage. They didn't have cell phones back then. :/

By being loyal to each other, and not permitting others to offer comment on you or your spouse, you will save on trips to counselors or attorneys.

Television prime time is harmful to marriage. People feel threatened by a persons healthy marriage and family relationships with kids.

Unsolicited advise gets met with: "I always check in the Bible for my advise." Really, Deuteronomy and Leviticus have useful principals. What builds up; what tears down// 1 Corinthians 7

We live in a society that feels threatened by anything remotely "religious". I made all the mistakes, so I really want you to succeed.

  • What Makes Us Really Beautiful - In Reply on Matthew 6 - 4 years ago
I think Proverbs 31 is a model of a godly woman, wife and mother.

Ruth and Esther are women of God with books in the Bible for us to study.

Song of Solomon's, Shulamite woman: is a study into the bride of Christ or, the Church of Christ. I once thought it quite scandalous, but it's explained in Psalm 45:11 and Galatians 2:20

I think our understanding the strength of love, is imperfect. I will tell you a dream I had. After I was born again, people said to my face: that anyone who had been as evil as me__could not possibly be saved!! Then they laughed.

It cut me to my fragile heart and spirit.

I decided I would make Jesus despise me. When Jesus love knocked on my door I would slam the door shut and the pain of self-hate grew huge.

In the Dream, I saw Jesus laying stretched out on the Cross. He looked in my eyes with all the love within Him. I got angry! How dare He love The Unlovable?! I saw rocks. I picked one up and hit the nail in his hand. I felt sure I could make him sorry he had ever met me.

But he looked in my eyes and said, I LOVE YOU. I hit him again and again, and each time He said he loved me. Something inside of me broke open. I dropped the rock and lay on his chest and wept. His arms held me close. Then I woke up.

When I read Song of Solomon later: 2:19, 6:3, 7:10, 8:7; I knew I was loved. I forgave all those who cursed me. I learned how to give love to those who were like me. It's not carnal.

Only God can heal a human heart; and cause it to beat for others who have not heard Jesus say, I Love You.

The ability to love without judging, speaking curses or rationing is valuable. Love like Jesus.

In both verses, Jesus is seated at the right hand of God. No one is seated on His left hand.

Sir, Cain is of the Devil. 1 John 3:12 | View whole chapter | See verse in context

Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

Matt 13 24Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. Chris...........please study the word of God again and let me know what has changed

The Nature of Lucifer/Satan. This got him ejected from heaven.

    ISAIAH 14

11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in THINE HEART, I WILL ascend into heaven, I WILL exalt my throne above the stars of God: I WILL sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I WILL ascend above the heights of the clouds; I WILL be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms?

17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

The good news is, Jesus preached to the prisoners of hell and emptied the prison. That is Jesus's heart.

If you hear a politician spouting off how they are going to take over the world, take our SUPREME COURT HOSTAGE; That is the Great "I WILL" at work, doing whatever he can to hurt Gods people.

    GODS NAME IS, I AM.

Concerning the Border Crisis, I think the Antichrist Spirit that is already in the world. It's going to destroy our Economy.

Fortunately, God is revealing this through Christians with a prophetic gift; from the Holy Spirit. If the thing they say doesn't come true, don't listen to them. If it's true, other prophetic gifts will have seen the SAME thing.

We are seeing Matthew 24, Luke 21, signs happening every day. Nations burning, flooding, drought, People being exterminated because of faith, economies going flatline turning to BITCOIN

There is NO WAY to survive this until better times can come. Now is the DAY OF SALVATION. Trusting Jesus is the only way. Don't think it to death; do it now!!
