Jesus is not a fire insurance plan, to get out of hell. He is Holy and Righteous. By reading the Bible faithfully, we know what He expects from us while we are still here on earth. Get your finger out of Genesis and read the Gospels of the New Testament.

The Christian life is not a Hollywood movie. There's lots of those huh? Well that is a poor representation of what God is like and what heaven will look like. I agree with what you've written Dianne. The leaders in the synagogues (Rabbis), as in the OT Temple, were always men, as they not only followed the pattern as laid out by the Lord God, but they also took on the deeper study of the Scriptures & other classical texts of Jewish scholarship which were out of reach to the ordinary Jew. I believe that is still the case today, with some exceptions.

And therefore in the Church, this pattern was also followed, with Apostle Paul giving further reasons why this was so. Even though there has been evidence of women teaching or preaching in the Church from the very early days (including in non-mainstream Churches), it was not until the 19th & 20th Centuries & then the onset of the world wars, when men were drafted into service, leaving the pulpits empty, that women were compelled to fill the gap. And with the push for women emancipation, it seemed reasonable that women would begin occupying pulpits. And as with so much in society, when something begins to be accepted & becomes the norm, Truth & adherence to it, becomes remote & pointless & anyone who calls upon believers to return to the 'old paths', are looked upon with disdain. Fortunately, believers still have a choice as to what to accept as right & proper.

Read 1 Corinthians ch 14 verses 33 to 38 . Women are not permitted to speak in the church or even under the law .

Thanks Dianne, I understand what you're saying here. However, without clear Scriptures to show us what other things took place in Genesis chapters 1 & 2 & how the dots ought to be connected with other Scriptures, we must leave our beliefs about the matters as simply speculation. As you mentioned, even the most learned folk, after all their research, can't find agreement over these things, how much should we be wary of postulating our opinions. It's not to say that any of these many views are wrong, but one can never know, & particularly if one should claim a divine revelation on the matter. I do wonder (on your point) that if the Earth lost its form & filling at the casting down of Lucifer, why has the Earth not retreated back into that condition, given Lucifer's present & relentless activity on Earth & in the hearts of men. Engaging thoughts - with no answer, at least none from the Word.

We see an instance of that in Mark 1:40-45 where Jesus cured a leper. Right after Jesus cured this man, He says in verse 44, "See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them."



Do you see what He is doing?



He is saying don't tell anybody. Go directly to priest and say I want you to put me through the procedures that Moses gave so that I can go back into society. I am a leper, and I am cleansed!



But you see, if the priest were to take him, and check him out, and say okay, make your sacrifice, and then set him aside for a week and keep him checked out, as soon as the priest were to say you are clean and you are able to go back into society, that priest is verifying the ministry of Christ.



And Jesus didn't want anybody to hear about it. He didn't want word to get around that He did it.

Verse 45 tells us that this man went out and told everyone. Now you have a huge crowd of people who are coming to see more miracles.

But you see, the Lord didn't want an excitable crowd following Him. He didn't want people coming to Him for the wrong reasons, the wrong motives.



Now the whole town is packed, and He goes out in the wilderness. If you want to receive from Jesus, now you have to go out in the wilderness, not in the city.

Shirley, Job 29:1 ....continued his parable.....this chapter and some preceding and some following this chapter are prophesies about Christ, much like Psalms 22. Study it in this light and it will make more sense to you. The pronoun I, is Christ speaking, not Job. Remember it's a parable.

Find out if their is a battered women's shelter near you. Call your police dept to get that location. Ask about a restraining order.

Call the shelter and find out how to proceed, what items to bring with you. (Birth certificates, etc) don't try to take too much or he'll know you're planning to leave. The shelter can advise you how to proceed legally.

I hope sincerely that there are some police reports on file; but if not, get out now. Take what money you can without alerting him. It's possible the shelter will have inside daycare so you can work. DO NOT tell friends and family members, employer, where you are, in case he tries to hurt them too.

Work out details after you and the child are protected.

Priority is to get somewhere safe NOW, TODAY.

I guess I started that fracas. As a rule, Jesus wasn't buddies with the religious Pharisees and Sadducees.

He did share with Nicodemas and tell him he needed to be born again. Like....

I shared with some JW ladies my testimony and a little human kindness. I didn't tell them they're going to hell and slam the door. I did say when the world starts unraveling at the seams... they might want to use a KJV Bible to understand what's happening next.

I planted some seeds. Later I asked the Lord to rain on those seeds. End of story.

I'm an old evangelist and I've seen everything, on the streets. Heard zillions of excuses. There would be more salvations if Christians would pray to the LORD OF THE HARVEST. Every day. Who knows what a little seed and a lot of rain can accomplish.

Even children need to hear the gospel. Who knows what age "the age of accountability" is??

This is a forum to teach evangelism. We have to get over the "fear of man" to cold contact a friend or neighbor with their need. If we don't know how to start, there are scads of websites on google that are teaching it.

When Jesus performed miracles during his ministry, why would he tell them not to say anything? Just want to have a better understanding..

I always asked my self the same question. Then, through learning how Christianity was spread (since they could not eliminated it) I believe that there was great effort made by the Romans and Greeks to input pagan believes into it and separate us from the truth nature of the bible. Consequently, the people have an ignorant understanding of the bible and of the Jews. We must read the bible.

I think that verse makes reference to knowingly committing a sin vs unknowingly committing sins specifically in relation to the 10 commandments. Remember at this time when people committed sins they needed to make blood offering of rams and animals alike.

I started from Genesis. Take your time. I make annotations and sometimes I have to go back to make sure I understand. I think that will help you understand why other things happened later on the Bible.

If it doesn't fit like a wet suit on a human so to speak somethings wrong. I walked out of a Church one time because a guy told a story of How God Killed a pastors child to teach Him and His wife a lesson, made me sick. You are not showing me that scripturally and I don't care how you twist it. My Bible says John 10:9 The thief cometh not but to steal, to kill, and to destroy. I don't see Numbers 15:30-31 being connected to the unpardonable sin. To answer your question "Can a Gentile commit the unpardonable sin?" The answer to that is yes. It doesn't matter if a person is Jew or Gentile, anyone can commit the unpardonable sin. The word blasphemy means to reject. A person that rejects the testimony of God's Spirit when He comes to them and convicts them of their sin and shows them their need of a Savior, if they reject that testimony, they cannot be forgiven for that!

Young men became quiet and moved away and older men stood up to greet him , this is more about showing respect than about wealth I think .
