  • On the I AM - In Reply on Joel 2 - 4 years ago
there is a wonderful interview of Steven Bacarz (former new age megastar, converted to Christ) being interviewed by Alisa Chambers, on the new age "Universal Christ," a book written by Richard Rohr. I fell pray to the Universal Christ too, just praying, "I AM" believing I Am to be Christ.... ("know ye not, ye are gods?") I AM became a mantra. there was no need of any gospel, no need of any Blood of the Lamb. It is a huge movement in the New Age, Richard Rohrs book has influenced many, many people. It is really Hindu philosophy, meditating on "I AM" to lead you to Unity Consciousness, or God Consciousness. Everybody can say, "I AM" and so everybody has Christ.... When I lived in the Zen Buddhist center in my 20's, we all had a "mantra," a word you say over an over again, later on I tried "I AM" as a mantra. What I got was more stuck in my mind, fallen prey to another delusion. The Lord is a Person. The fallen self cannot keep saying the name of the Lord and become a god, as I found out. Mishael, I wonder if you could make a comment on this Universal Christ movement so prevalent among New Agers.... Did you ever come upon in in evangelizing?

Hello Drake. The anguish you feel is mirrored in so many of us. The Apostle Paul suffered under the same spiritual cloud when he looked at the conflict in himself, between sin & his spirit. Romans 7:14-23 shows that conflict. But after his agonizing over it, he could find that victory lay not within him, but in the Person of Jesus Christ.

Even the Psalmist in Psalm 73:21-26, despaired of his unworthiness before God (was seen as a beast before Him & with a body & heart that failed God in life & in death). Yet, even he could raise himself up & proclaim that inspite of this, God was still his Strength, that His Presence hadn't left him & he would be guided in this life & into the next.

All God ever expects of His children is to humble themselves before Him, acknowledging that there "dwelleth no good thing" as far as our flesh is concerned. When we bring our sins & shortcomings before Him & our desire is not to the sin but only to the Saviour, He sees the heart that is inclined towards Him: a heart of faith, of hope, of expectation in our final redemption from this Earth. "He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust", but He also knows where the blood of His Son has been applied, and that not one of His sheep will be lost or plucked from His Hand.

We can confidently rest on such Scriptures, but if sin overtakes us, we look up & reach out for our Father & receive assurance of forgiveness & restoration. You've shared a mighty testimony declaring your love for the Lord; this cannot come from a heart succumbed to a sinful life, but of one engaged in the earthly battle in the spiritual realm, trusting the Lord for that extra measure of faith & strength. "This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." Faith in Christ alone who has gotten us the victory through His Cross. Stay strong brother - keep looking up in faith & looking down into His Word for you.

Mark 13, verse 24-25 Jesus telling the apostle of a war which is the second coalition war and that date is April 11, 2003,

The smoke from the oil wells burning darkened the sky, the sun nor the moon's light will not shine through, a regime will fall (an American puppet), which will cause a vacuum and catch America by surprise.

Mark 13 verse 26 is the Abrahams Accord, dated august 13, 2020.

The sea is the people, the Beast id the presidency, Seven Heads Ten Horns is description of U.S. currency, i.e., half penny, penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar, silver dollar, Ten Horns is the same, but in paper currency. Crown is is date, by the amount of different denomination of currency in circulation. Seven Heads Ten Horns Ten Crowns means U.S. 1981, so Rev 13:1 is metaphoric and reads as follows

As I stood at the back edge of a massive crowd, I saw the president (Ronald Wilson Reagan) elected by the people, from the United State, 1981, and the currency said :In GOD we trust.

President Reagan lived by his speeches and motivating the people, one can say that was his sword, there was an other sword called Alzheimer's which took his speech, motivation, and eventually his life. One can say Reagan lived by the sword and died by the sword,

The 666 is six letters of alphabets in the first name , six in the middle name, and six in the last name. That is what Revelation 13 description is of the Reagan and bush presidential era.

Dear Sister. My apologies, I must be more careful in such assumptions. It was so good to read of the profitable time you had with your friend; for his/her spiritual benefit & prayerfully leading to salvation, and for you, increased joy in your heart & confidence in sharing the Word by God's Spirit. Remember, the enormous power that is in God's Word, which is God-breathed. If at the sound of the Word, demons tremble & flee, how much more will an enquiring soul become troubled as spiritual conflict takes place. Even as you being Christ's representative there, His Light is already beaming through you - be joyful, confident & speak as 'thus & thus saith the Lord. Every blessing to you.

Hi Dianne , I get really annoyed by negative sermons also , there are a group of Christians who regularly preach in my local town centre and all they talk about is the devil and sin and he'll ,they are in fact slightly abusive to people , it's as if they are deliberately pushing people away rather than trying to draw them in with bands of love , I would have much more respect for them if they kept their mouths shut and just gave away free Bibles to anyone who wants one , even occasionally in my congregation we get a preacher who will pick one of the slightly less reputable characters in the Bible and spend 45 minutes just ripping that person apart , firstly they are just pandering to our vanity by implying that none of us would have behaved in that way if we were in that situation , I'm sorry but I am definitely a sinner and might have done even worse ! Secondly it's just dull . I want to here preachers fishing and using love and truth and peace and joy and amazing awesome promises about a fantastic future as bait , not hate and condemnation and fear and a holier than thou attitude .

Please don't be offended , I'm not trying to be rude , when you say that your Biblical references are obscure that's fine by me , I've read it all very many times ,so please can you give me the references that back up your original comment , I'm annoyed with myself if I have missed them .

    Daniel 1:6

Funny story about my naming at birth. The nurse recorded my name as Mishayl. It was age 8 when the error was corrected to something different.

I prefer Mishael. Mostly because of the night the Lord reached into my sinful life and I saw Him in a vision. Changed my life.

Linda Derrick, not sure what you are referring to, if it was during the early church time (just after the crucifixion of Jesus) I would imagine there were several people or even a sect of people. It is clear to us in the scriptures that John the Baptist was baptizing people unto repentance until Jesus came on the scene, and until both of their deaths. We even find proof some 25yrs after in Acts 19 Paul came upon some believers and asked how they were baptized? They said unto John's baptism. Paul told them that was good but commanded them to be baptized in the Name of Jesus, and they did as he commanded. Hoped this helped. In Christ, Gerald.

The King James version of Ps.105 is a song of Thanksgiving to Jehovah ( Psalms means 'a song') and a reminder to his people of His wonderful works he did from the time of Abraham, and to when Joseph went down to Egypt as a prisoner for Jehovah's people, continuing to when God delivered them from Egypt by the leadership of Moses and Aaron whom he called and guiding them thru the wilderness, Jehovah being there every step of the way. Which is a lesson to us that no matter the circumstances in life, or "wilderness" we find ourselves in, or "prison" or "taskmaster", we have a Deliverer a Savior who will be there for us. In Christ, Gerald.

Let all the saints pray for God's healing hand on all of us around the world. May the lost find salvation before the coming of Christ and be lost for all eternity. Pray for our country's leadership to learn the truth, speak the truth and walk in the truth of God Almighty. 2 Chronicles 7: 14, 15

The physical, medical, emotional, and political turmoil we face stem from our spiritual problems. Our relationship with God must be healed and we must reconcile our selves unto God. We already have the remedy before us. It is found in His Word. It is found in the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 john1:9

One day I was praising God and he showed me a vision. I was flying through the clouds alone. I could hear singing all around me. It was beyond the confines of the word beautiful.

The AIR was like nothing I'd ever inhaled. Clean, energizing. I took in many breaths and I heard:

"The air in heaven is FAITH."

I hope you can breathe this too. We are here now, but some day He is going to bring us to Him.

God is not amazed by our many posts. He wants us to KNOW HIM. Tell what you know. Be the kindness of Christ. Sometimes I read the gospels for any new scrap of revelation of who Jesus is. I trust the Holy Spirit to lead me to that which I seek. To open it. Yes I am on my knees in awe of Jesus and the wonder of what he showed (shows), to us if we Seek Him.

I pray we will all, not be afraid to see what is behind the mirror. 1 Corinthians 13:12

  • THE GOD OF THE BIBLE EVERY DAY - In Reply - 4 years ago
Right after I was saved, a Preacher said to the congregation:

"ANYTHING THAT IS NOT SPOKEN IN FAITH "

...IS SIN. I was a newby so I had to think about that seriously.

I'd have days when I'd say "I feel like a dump truck ran me over, but thanks be to God through the Lord Jesus Christ, I'm going to rise up now and feel wonderful."

This works if we allow it to. Life can come in like a flood, but we don't have to be swept away with it.

I was called to: beating the pavement street ministry. You have to have a sense of humor to minister to "all walks of life". You need to be friendly. Read all of Proverbs to prove that humorless sternness is interesting. Their gonna walk past you...and maybe die in their sins because we decided to mope around that day.

Explain that to Jesus! Every day is new and how we spend the 24 hours is a choice.

I have memories from age 5, of an invisible friend; a presence of greatness I could discern..as a child. We created a Genesis in a washtub. It had every thing in it. the critters I put in it; provisions. We would sit together and just watch what they would do all day. Some ate the others, some crawled out and ran away, others hid, others were thrilled to have water and food. He would show me that people are just as interesting. We can survive just knowing each and every day of our lives, GOD HAS HIS EYE ON US. He's so wise and mighty, He doesn't miss a thing.

So sit with Him every day and learn from Him. Treat others with kindness and consideration of their few needs and wants. Appeal to the human soul that wants to understand why God Loves them so much. A human soul that is often brutalized by life lived without God.

Theology will not warm a hurting soul. The GOSPEL is a Person. He's alive, He's watching us, He cares for our needs. He is what we Need. We need THE JESUS of the Bible we teach. The Holy Spirit is his gift to us. Ask for the GIFT with your heart. Receive Him.

What's Important is that we praise God,

Simply "saying" hallelujah doesn't get you no closer to God than a person saying Praise God. God Judges the Heart behind everything we do. I think it's either way.

    God bless

If are living in the flesh body, you are " BORN AGAIN ". Simply means that you came from above, threw water, an into flesh ,.. it's just that simple
  • Chris - In Reply on Psalms 82 - 4 years ago
Thank you for that explanation brother Earl. I understand Luke 8:5-15 & can even understand your explanation of it. However, in the parable, Jesus uses the 'seed' as an illustration of God's Word being planted into various heart types. It's not used as God being planted/fallen by the wayside/etc. in their hearts. Even though the seed represents God's Word, if we interpret it as God being planted & therefore the Spirit being planted, then we corrupt the meaning & intent of that parable.

If we then allow that type of interpretation to continue, so many passages, such as Isaiah 41:8, "But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend", might just compel one to think of the "seed of Abraham" to mean 'God's Word/God/a multiplication of gods, instead of simply Abraham's progeny. Even in evangelism, the evangelist shares/scatters the seed over different hearts. He does not scatter God or the Holy Spirit - I believe there must be a distinction, or else the meaning becomes clouded or lost.

1 Peter 1:23: here again, the Word is that the believers were born again by incorruptible seed (God's Word) as opposed to the corruptible traditions that were first delivered by their fathers (v 18) that could not give a new birth. We might agree with that one but I would disagree with: "When we depart this body of flesh; Spirit ONLY remains, Spirit is GOD, we become (the image of) God." Our spirit never becomes God; our spirits are renewed by the Holy Spirit (born again) & we bear the Image of God, but whether on Earth or depart from it, our spirits don't become God. And this belief then impacts how you understand Psalm 82. As I've already given my understanding of this Psalm in this thread to Samuel, I won't repeat it, except to state that I disagree in toto with your understanding of it; i.e. it is not prophetical at all, rather a warning to the rulers & judges, to which Jesus also inferred in John 10:34.

    I appreciate your contribution Earl.

Earl with all due respect you take a lot of things out of context of usage, I believe Gods word as originally given was perfect that being said he meant what he said where he said it how he said it to whom he said it when he said it and why he said it, the treasure chest is so big because it is the knowledge of God. Remember you said the spirit reveals, the bible was written by men with the spirit, that's the guide. To quote Jesus Christ thy word is truth. God Bless

There is supposed to be the word hallelujah in psalms 104-110, and are only shown as praise the lord. Why can't they put in the word that means that.

Just because something happens everybody thinks the world is ending why are people choosing to live in fear instead of faith? When we see major catastrophic events then know the time is near so in the mean time live with your faith and not with your imagination AMEN

Jesus Whats important to grasp is what was accomplished jesus Christ, read Romans chapter 5-8 you'll get an idea of what was accomplished by his sacrifice and resurrection. Even I would like to grasp more than I do. God Bless
