When a person makes a decision to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, they must repent of their sinful lifestyle, meaning they must make a decision to change the direction of their life. If that person has truly received Christ, and is being led by His Spirit, they would no longer continue on in such a sinful state. So if a homosexual continues on in his sinful disgusting lifestyle, I would say that person does not have the Spirit of Christ in them, meaning that person is not saved, regardless of their claim of being a Christian. If the homosexual has no conviction in his heart that what he is doing is sinful in the eyes of the Lord, I would say that person does not have the Spirit of God in them! For those who say they have received Christ, or that they are a Christian (a Christ follower), the bible tells us that we will know them by their fruit. So if I see someone who says they have received Christ, and I know they are still involved in such a hideous act with no conviction nor willingness to stop and fully surrender to Christ, right away the "red flag" is going up. That to me does not demonstrate the fruit of God's Spirit working in that person's life and would tell me that that person is not being led by the Spirit at all, and that they have an illegitimate claim at being a true born again believer.
is to first ask: Does God Require water baptism, today? IF yes, then find out "how."
IF not, then no need to find that out, Correct? Here is my "Summary study" on this Important Issue:
Prophecy/Law for ISRAEL: The Twelve Were Sent to water baptize!
The TWO Main, of 12 baptisms =
A) water, For remission of sins/induction into Israeli"priesthood!" ( Matthew 3:5-6) ( Mark 1:4) ( Luke 3:3) ( John 1:31) ( Luke 7:29-30) ( Acts 10:37) ( Matthew 28:19) ( Mark 16:16) ( Acts 2:38) ( Acts 22:16) ( Ezekiel 36:25) ( John 18:35) ( Exodus 19:6)
+
B) WITHThe Holy Spirit, Poured Out By CHRIST, for power, signs And wonders! ( Isaiah 44:3) ( Matthew 3:11) ( Mark 1:8) ( Mark 16:17-18) ( Luke 24:49) ( Acts 2:17-18) ( Acts 2:38) ( Acts 8:15-17) ( Acts 11:16) Prophecy/Law
Rightly Divided ( 2 Timothy 2:15) From Things ThatDiffer!:
Mystery/GRACE! =our "apostle to the Gentiles" for The Body Of CHRIST:
Paul WasNot Sent to water baptize! Why Not?:
Today: Only ONE Baptism = "BY" The ONE Spirit = God's OPERATION,Spiritually Identifying members Into The ONE Body Of CHRIST!! ( Ephesians 4:5) ( Colossians 2:12) ( Galatians 3:27) ( Romans 6:3-4) ( 1 Corinthians 12:13) MYSTERY/GRACE! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conclusion: God's ONE Baptism Today? = ONEOR, EQUALS TWO?
Is it not Possible That God'sAnswer Of "No water baptism, for us Today," Under HIS Pure GRACE, absolutely "Solves" theMany Severely DIVIDED denominations' Confusion!?
Please be Richly Encouraged, enlightened, exhorted, and edified!
Quote: ....those who will be saved will be saved by grace. But most people won't be saved.....
Meditate on grace.
This is one of those truths that leaves us boxed in with no exit.
God's work or man's work.
No response necessary, the Spirit reveals.

I believe all who have experienced a spiritual rebirth are one. We are one body in Christ Jesus. As far as your question goes, I can't say that I believe that.
Does that verse apply to the unsaved exclusively, or does it apply to the "saved" (but somewhat backslidden)?
I'm thoroughly confused. For years I believed in "once-saved-always-saved" but I don't any more. Neither do I believe that if someone has prayed the "sinners prayer" once, that they are always saved- either.
The verse says the fearful...unbelieving...murderers... shall have their share in the Lake of Fire.
I've never taken a life (murdered) but often I've wished death on the wicked. So much so that for weeks I felt this heaviness weighing on me. It would not go away. I was terrified. My waking thoughts were of damnable things. I asked God every day, "What is this? Why do I feel this doom and gloom?"
God gave me an answer.> In having those wicked thoughts, I caused the Holy Spirit to grieve.
I told a friend of mine what I was feeling and she told me to read Romans 8:1
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
I've read that verse many times. I was a C.I.N.O. (Christian-in-name-only) When I read my Bible, I only read the "feel good" verses. I thought that no matter what I did, Jesus had me covered. Why would Jesus keep sticking up for a habitual sinner like me?
Most of my sins are in my head: I think of doing things that I would never actually do in real life. But, you can't fool the Holy Spirit of God.
Is it too late for me? Am I doomed?
In you last paragraph, you quoted Matthew concerning the Father and Jesus being ONE; WE will ALSO be ONE in them (not in the flesh we now suffer in, but when we have departed this flesh).
Do you BELIEVE we will be God in the same way both the Father is God and the Son is God?
I BELIEVE we will; but DIFFERENT GLORIES.
( 1 Corinthians 15:3-4) ( Ephesians 2:5-9) ( Romans 3-5) and others in Romans - Philemon.
What we do, or fail to do, is in our Calling To "fellowship" With The LORD JESUS CHRIST.
( 1 Corinthians 1:9). This is for "rewards or lack thereof" At Judgment ( 1 Corinthians 3:7-15)
Be Encouraged, Exhorted, Enlightened, and Edified In HIS Precious Word!
God is the judge and knows our hearts in whether we are genuine or not. If we choose to follow Jesus He knows how serious we are about it- whether we're doing it for unpure motives or not. Everyone is a sinner, and those who will be saved will be saved by grace. But most people won't be saved and the Word doesn't say everyone who claims to be a Christian will be saved, either. So, I think God's definition of what a Christ follower may sometimes be a little different than what man assumes is a Christ follower. I know 'Christians' who actively participate in all kinds of sin, like homosexuality, fornication, theft, coveting, harming the body through drugs, drunkenness, etc. Many also feel they are 'saved' because that was the message they heard at church and feel they can commit unlimited sin and follow satan and still be saved, because someone told them that.
The reason I believe this is Matthew 7:21-23. It clearly gives an example of someone who believed in and followed Jesus, BUT the one who does the will of the father. So, I have a very different message than some who claim that you can 'do whatever you want'. Some even say that doing good is bad and evil. That sounds awfully familiar- as if its from the father of lies (satan) who loves convincing even Christians of the opposite. We are called to be good and do good and avoid sin. John 8:11 And I think anyone claiming to be Christian and willingly sinning is like slapping Jesus in the face and spitting on the cross. Some should wake up and be afraid of judgment of God. God bless...
Faith is key to receiving Jesus' gifts when walking with Him in the Spirit daily, simply by: doing your morning verse and prayer, then practicing goodness with the first two commandments through the day with prayer when you need strength or forgiveness, carrying zero guilt, having no wants, carrying the Shield of Faith at all times after rising in the morning because you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
Faith is key, "For we walk by Faith (in things eternal knowing we are saved), not by sight (the things we see here, the evil, and death). 2Cor5:7.
Getting Faith, or growing it daily is key. It's easy. Jesus and the apostles made it so easy for us with the Gospels. None of the early Christians had the benefit of the Word, though meeting Jesus in person would have been the bomb.
HERE IT IS: "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Your morning verse and prayer alone will grow your faith. Practice walking in the Spirit all day, in faith, in prayer, loving a Creator we live and move and have our being in - that gave His only Son, Jesus, to be the sacrifice for us all, and He was perfect without blemish. We all here have committed sins against the Spirit in our monkey bodies sharing 99 and 84% DNA with chimps and dogs, resp.
So faith comes by hearing the Word of God, and I add reading it will suffice as well. The Word or Bible will grow you as you walk and your strength of faith will grow as well. He has shown the way - our Lord Jesus to get home to Heaven - John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no one cometh to the Father but by Me." And today's VOTD Matthew 17:20 is very special...faith!
It would take a lot of space to give you an answer to both these questions. I'll take question 1 and maybe someone else could help you out with the second question. John Chapter 8 is a very long chapter so I'll try and just give you a summary of the chapter unless you have specific questions on any of the verses in that chapter.
Verses 1-8 gives us the plot concerning the woman caught in adultery. Verses 12 through 20 gives us the proof of deity from witnesses. In verses 21 through 30, we see the perplexity over spiritual matters. And then in verses 31 through 59, we see the proof of conversion. If anyone wants proof that they are saved, just take a look at verse 31 which says, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed:"
Verse 58 is interesting. Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Literally, before Abraham was in existence, I was already in existence, and always have been, the I AM of the Old Testament! These Jews knew who Jesus was claiming to be. That's why verse 59 says they took up stones to cast at Him.
My biblical explanation of John 14:8-9:
In verse 8, Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. It's like we've been hearing about your Father for three years, so show Him to us. You would think that maybe one of them had a girlfriend that said "Are you going to take me home to introduce me to your father? I haven't seen him. I haven't met him yet. We have been listening to you talk about your Father and that you speak His words, not your words, and that it is Him working in you, so show us the Father. Bring Him out!"
Then Jesus says in verse 9 that if you have seen me, you have seen the Father. In John 10:31, Jesus said I and the Father are one. And He is leading into teachings now that are going to say the Father and I, we are going to make our abode in you. I am in the Father, the Father in me, and we are going to be in you. We are going to be all one!
If our Lord became the earthly king that the Jews expected, (I speak as a sinful man), there would be a holy spirit, but not found in heaven! Only on earth?
If His kingdom were of this world, there must be repentance for sin! If not, it will be for those who repent in the world to come! Repent and be Baptized....
Behold, how much they hated Him!
Jesus found out how they were thinking, when He went to the feast as it were in secret. Confronted by His own, tempted to do something not his will, just to see if he is the person He says He is, He sends them ahead to the feast.
He arrives at the feast , I see Him standing in the shadows watching as they question among each other who this Jesus is. Some say he is a deceiver, some say He is a good man. Some despise Him for who He is!
Is this how it is for anyone who stands for truth? A person who excepts the word of Christ.
They will speak behind your back, say things that are concocted out of fear? Fear of being found out.
Being a follower of Christ in the truest sense of the word, will teach u what is in man! It will teach you about a world that is spiraling into hell, a world without faith. This is the life of a follower of Christ, a believer in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Now more than ever, repent and be baptized!
Thanks for your input, our focus wasn't on any covenant it was on Truth. (Jesus)
The Emphasis on our discussion wasn't on Gods covenant to Israel, My Emphasis was on the Power of the Holyspirit being able to reveal truth.
You're right Jesus is speaking to Jews before the death burial and resurrection,
However he didn't give them what he spoke about ( HOLYSPIRIT) until after his death burial and resurrection, And he told them to take the gospel unto the earth.
Acts 1:8. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. This is the foundation being laid and Jesus the chief corner stone. And the CHURCH is built on it.
God bless
So the Levites (from those three families) received tithes from the other Tribes of Israel. But they were required to set apart a further tithe from the initial tithe, for the provision of Aaron & subsequently his descendants who served in that High Priestly position. You can read a little of this in Numbers chapter 18, & specifically verses 20 to 28.
