Regarding Acts 15:1 -- circumcised after the manner of Moses. Does that mean following the 10 Commandments?

Re Commentary by Matthew Henry 1710, last half. Consider that he did not have what we have today. We already have the precursor of the mark. It is the number of a man. We use it to buy and sell. It is normally in our right hand. Sometimes it is in our 'forehead' (brain, mind). It currently is 4-4-4-4 today. 16 digits. Will be expanded to 18 digits, enough for every human that ever lived to have his own number. 6 digits followed by 6 digits followed by 6 digits. 123456-654321-773410. They are trying so hard to do away with paper money and go to digital currency. Most people use the precursor every day, by handing it to someone in their right hand or swiping it, and when ordering a pizza on the phone we have the number in our forehead(brain). If you have a better explanation please let me know.

    Think about it.

First his light shined in you now its shining out of you, as Jesus Christ said let your light so shine, many times God says to us let don't force don't over think just let me work. Like when God talked to moses at first and basically said moses I'm calling you just believe and I'll do the work. We believe Let the Word do the Work.

Jesus Christ said I am the way the truth and the life, when walking by the spirit we are no longer captivated by things of the world, in Ephesians jesus Christ led captivity captive. If you choose to focus on the fear, confusion, lies, circumstances and not focus on the master you become what you focus on. There's a great Hymn Turn your eyes upon Jesus look full in His wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the Light of His Glory and Grace. God Bless

Immanuel... I think this is the Name of the H.G. God with us . Because Jesus said when he the Spirit of Truth is come he will abide with you FOREVER and that's what Immanuel means God with us forever. Whom he refers to as the comforter . This spritual being is the result of the new birth via the seed of the sower ,Ya have to receive him as a Seed and hearing then conception then a lil child, but he is spirit. he is a king . His ciity is NEW JERUSALEM, Thats y Jesus said that which is born of the spirit is spirit thats Immanuel the H.G. But being he is a child he is under tutors and governors till the time appointed of the Father . He is a true Heir . We are just a joint heir with him but will be made 1 at the marriage supper of the lamb. This Imanuel is gonna be as the stars of heaven. That was the great Promise that God Almighty made to Christ I WILL MULTIPLY THY SEED AS THE STARS OF HEAVEN and thats how God will pour out his spirit on ALL FLESH VIA HIS SEED THE WORD the contents of that BOOK IN THE FATHERS RIGHT HAND. The WOMAN IS the good ground where that good seed will be sown. THUS AN ISRAEL OF GOD. HER CHILD IS IMMANUEL WHICH IS THE H.G. Thus the babes and sucklings that Jesus said wd be secrets. Outta of the mouths of Babes and Sucklings thou has perfected Praise. This is y the new birth is so important as our bodies are gonna be his temple. Every seed is gonna get a body , our bodies. This immanuel is also a consuming fire ( his baptism of fire ) .the H.G BAP.

Hello Eric Lopez , it's good to hear from you and know that you are still out there , I hope you are safe and well and happy , do you have a concordance ? It's basically a big Bible dictionary , it tells you what every word in the Bible means ,I find the best one is called Strongs Exhaustive Concordance but others are available , if you had one you would be able to look up the word Emmanuel , from my memory it means :God with us ". A concordance is a fab tool to open up a whole new world of understanding the names of people and places in the Bible , I don't know if this site has one but it probably should have . Stay safe and best wishes to you .

    On Google, type in this:

    Revelation 21:1 Bible Commentaries

Most all of the commentaries are by "famous" Bible scholars. This website has a commentary link too. Generally by Matthew Henry or Orioles Bible.

Or do the same thing and type in History, or Meaning or Teaching

  • Chris - In Reply on Isaiah 7 - 4 years ago
Hello Eric. We're so pleased to see the progress you're making with your systematic Bible reading. And you've now reached this great portion of Scripture in Isaiah.

Isaiah 7:14: "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." It is true, that Immanuel is a Proper Name, but as I understand the significance of this prophecy, it was given as a sign to King Ahaz of Judah that before this Child (Immanuel) would be a little boy, the land & people who conspired to attack Judah would be made desolate & destroyed.

So the impact of this sign to Ahaz was that firstly, God would enable a virgin to conceive, & secondly, that the Child's Name would signify that this was no ordinary babe that has arrived by no ordinary birth. His coming would be that 'God is now with us', or in the Hebrew, "with us, is God". So, I don't believe that the name Immanuel was to become Jesus' Name, but that by inference, the Name would signify the Presence of God now with His people. For example, one could exclaim: this is Jesus Christ, our Immanuel!

In Matthew 1:21-25, we see the fulfillment of this prophecy, as the angel proclaimed to Joseph that this Babe will be named Jesus, fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah of Immanuel's coming, i.e. the arrival of God in human form. To give this meaning further support, we could consider Isaiah 9:6, where we read that this coming One would be called, "Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace". See also Jeremiah 23:5,6 (a righteous Branch, The Lord our Righteousness). In very Truth, Jesus was the embodiment of all these Divine attributes, but no one in Israel ever called Him by any of those names. So these names, as also Immanuel, can be understood to be representative of Who this Jesus is: truly God & now called Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God in His incarnation. The Lord bless you in your reading & understanding of His Word.

A great, powerful & relevant message by Mr. McGee. Thank you brother for sharing those reminders with us.
  • Chris - In Reply on Exodus 11 - 4 years ago
Josiah, the Bible is both an historical book & a spiritual book. It gives us the history of God's creation of the first humans & also His dealing with mankind because of the intrusion of sin in each of our lives (i.e. acts that we do that go against the Will & Holiness of God). No other religion, philosophy, or history book gives us such details with a continuous thread running from beginning to end. Man ultimately must turn to the Bible to learn of his past, present & the future.

So, if the Bible declares some uncomfortable disturbing facts in our minds (as in Exodus chapter 11 & many other Scriptures), we can rest assured that it was given for both an historical purpose & for our learning. From the example you gave, I learn how wicked man can be (as seen in Pharaoh & his henchmen). I also learn of God's Power to overrule the stubbornness of man & bring to nought the high-mindedness of Pharaoh (they were considered as supreme rulers or even gods). And I see the Mercy of God to save His people out of cruel bondage as He promised & that it took the death of all the firstborn in Egypt for the Pharaoh to finally let God's people leave.

Many folk, might only see the needless death of so many children & cattle, & that is tragic indeed. But many had to die, as they do today, because of the hard-heartedness & ineptness of their leaders. Many innocent people & children die because of wars, famines & diseases: & all these come upon us because we are sinners & we have raised our fists against the Almighty One instead of falling prostrate before Him in humbleness & repentance. If the Bible didn't relate the whole Truth of the matter, then we might be deluded to think that all is well with our souls & in the world, when in fact we need to know that there are repercussions for our sins & the wicked acts we do to others. Even as in 2 Peter 3:9 we read that the Lord is "longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

    Hi Jesus Ortiz.

God's goal for man was fulfilled in Jesus. That is the reason He is called the "last Adam"-the first Adam failed so miserably. The Lord Jesus is also called the "second man," not the last man. God sent Him into the world to become a man, and He is the second one, because after Adam it says, "And Adam begot a son in his likeness." He was a sinner; and ever since, Adams have been sinners. All of us are Adams.

We come into this world as children of Adam. When we are born again we become children of God.

1 Corinthians 15:45-49. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

    We've been Justified,

    We're beeing sanctified.

    One day we'll Glorified.

    I Hope that helps.

    God bless.

Yes, people can get confused about such topics. People can be deceived into believing and doing all kinds of things not supported by God's word. The Bible is clear and you asked a question and received an answer. God bless.
