I'm not sure what you are working on, this is not to cause debate, I hope you don't mind if I may give some information that may help you on your search. You say they did not know at sundown and that is when Joseph took His body. Jesus was crucified on the Passover day, 14 th of Nisan, which was a preparation day for the Feast of Unleavened Bread 15 th - 21 st, which the first day is a holy convocation. That is a sabbath day that the only work you could do is to prepare food to eat. There were two Sabbaths, Friday and Saturday John called it a high day ( John 19:31). ( Exodus 12:3-11) ( Leviticus 23:5-7), ( Numbers 33:1-3)
They had to get Jesus down and in the tomb, before the sun went down, when the sun goes down it starts the next day, the 15 th that started the feast of Unleavened Bread the night they ate the Passover which the first day is a Sabbath. ( Matthew 27:46-50) ( Mark 15:34-37) ( Luke 23:52-56) ( John 19:30-31). The ninth hour is 3 to 4 PM, The preparation and Sabbath they are talking about, the 14 th Passover day, the 15 th, the first day of the feast that will start at sundown.
It may seem a long time from 3 PM to 7 PM but look at what happened after Jesus gave up the ghost, people went to Pilate to partition that the bodies be taken down. He sent the soldiers to go and break their legs at would take a while before they would die. The reason they broke their legs was they could not push up with their legs so they could breathe, so they die of asphyxia.
After that Joseph of Arimathaea went to Pilate asking for Jesus' body, Nicodemus, a Pharisee that first met Jesus at night not wanting to be seen, brought the spices for the burial. When Joseph of Arimathaea went to Pilate he did not believe Jesus was dead already, he even sent for the centurion to verify Jesus had died that quickly. You would think 6 hours would be long enough. ( Mark 15:44-45).
I hope this little amount of information will help, 2000 characters are short.

If anyone tries to Jesus bully me on the boards, I will super Jesus steamroll them.
Elijah steamrolled 450 priests of Baal....the swine ran off the cliff.
See you at the Revelation 16:16 Jehoshaphat blood drive, get a cookie.
I thank the Lord for everyone who takes the time to post their thoughts and encouragement for all who come to this forum. The Lord be praised for His long suffering and mercies to me and all who seek Him. I know I should not sin, but when I repent my God is a Loving and a Forgiving God. Thank you Lord for your Word. 2 Timothy 3:16, 17. For your Holy Spirit in me and all who are yours. Ephesians 4:30.
Although it seems as if we are losing the battle, fret not, we win the war! As we used to say in school, I know because I read the last chapter of the book.
May the Lord bless all, and may we all follow hard unto the Lord God Jesus Christ.
Pray for those in Authority and also the lost.

I always delight to read your posts, especially while I eat my English breakfast, sipping on a cup of English tea, alongside my English sheep dog. Goosebumps. You really outdid yourself today; no one is accidentally like a martyr.
The best paths to take are the narrow lanes. I might get a visceral reaction to one of God's children in the comment section, their rampant ignorance makes me want to drain their bank accounts, but not enough to develop any mad psychotic hatreds. I like to think I am an average hater, a surface road narrator, pushing and shoving my way into heaven like a 13 year old girl at a Beiber concert.
My question is: Is it Melchizedek giving tithes of all he has to Abram? or is it Abram giving tithes of all he has to Melchizedek?
A nation, a people who are chosen and yet deny him, even with evidence of a past full of His mercy, while he continues judging separating the sheep from the goats, keeping the hope alive for the next generation!
Do you recognize this judgment that comes from above, do you understand still what He is done for you? What does He mean when He says " will He find faith on the earth when He returns?"
A People who have not learned from the sin of the past, will repeat it in the future. Many there be who still plead with Him, asking for forgiveness .
Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven."
This is the resurrection and the life, for all mankind, for the world!
Like in Rev 21 & 22 who exactly is "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely." It seems like different characters say that phrase, but I'm sure thy are one.
I would like a definitive answer about Christ's powers on earth but there are none new to be had, only faith. Jesus was a good boy doing his father's will. When I meet up with the editors of the Bible, I will punch each one of them error riddled gaffers square in the nose. They had a great deal of responsibility, it was all you had to do, and they screwed it up.
I don't know whether you have specific verses that you want to memorize, or you are reading through the Bible & want to pick up on certain verses that speak to you & can be useful to you or others later. In either case, you would want to with God's Help (i.e. with prayer) commit that verse to your mind & heart & continue to repeat it. Then through the day & into the succeeding days continue to recall that verse, with its reference, so it becomes established in your heart. Some people have memorized whole chapters, even Bible books, but start off in a small way first & concentrate on some meaningful verses to you, or what your Pastor/Elder has preached about. The Word of God is a living Word, i.e. the Scriptures we hold in our hands are "God-breathed", or inspired & energized by God for our instruction & observance ( 2 Timothy 3:16), so you can rest assured that God's Spirit will enable you to not only memorize the Scriptures but to apply them to your life. May the Lord bless you in your study & plan for Scripture memorization.
