The point you posted about Saul is significant, the LORD showed what happened with the people of Israel under the rule of the stealthy/ disguised and cynic king Saul.Very awful, as follow:

Saul reigned about two years over Israel and chose him 3.000 men;2.000 were with Saul in Michmas and in mount Bethel, and 1.000 were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin:and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent. And JONATHAN SMOTE the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba, and the Philistines HEARD of it.

    SAUL AS A LIAR

But the disguised and liar king Saul blew the trumpet throughout ALL THE LAND, saying, Let the Hebrews hear(hear what?), and ALL Israel heard say that SAUL HAD SMITTEN a garrison of the Philistines. This diabolic behavior of Saul caused that Israel also was had in abomination with the Philistines.(The same occurs today with churches whose ministers are like the king Saul- 2Corinthians 11:13-15 combined with Revelation chap.2&3)

Saul was not a confidence ruler and guide, evidently: The people were called together by Saul to be in Gilgal, and the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel around 30.000 chariots, and 6000 horsemen and people as the sand that is on the sea in multitude(such as we see the enemies of God's people in whole earth today):and they came up, and pitched in Michmas, eastward from Bethaven.

When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait,(for the people were distressed), then the people HIDE THEMSELVES in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.

    The fearful PEOPLE OF ISRAEL

Very impressive the fear of the people of Israel from the enemy, but there was a reason: Some of the Hebrews went over Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead, as for Saul he was still in Gilgal, but Samuel came not to Gilgal to the set time he had appointed, then the people were SCATTERED from Saul, and all the people followed him TREMBLING of fear,Saul was a bad ruler,a disguised and liar king

I would like to know...is the biblical description of our earth in Genesis a salvation issue? I have heard many people discussing this. Personally, I believe that the Bible is absolutely the Word of God and because it is impossible for God to lie- the earth, seas, heavens and firmament are 100% as God describes them to us.

A few of my Christian brethren refuse to discuss "flat earth", dismissing it as unimportant to salvation. I do not like the term "flat earth", I prefer to use "plane" we live on a plane, under a firmament etc. I am alarmed when people I care about appear so obviously sold on this great deception by our enemy. Next to his infamous work on Eve in the Garden..to me this is THE biggest and perhaps consequential lie facing us today.

I guess my question is how can anyone say they believe everything written in the bible as truth and yet this one important piece of our history (and our faith in our Father) is the "exception". Isn't that heresy? or I don't know the proper word. Please help me to understand as I am a "baby Christian" and this is really weighing on my heart.

Thank you in advance for your consideration. God bless you all.

Hello, I agree with brother Chris that verse 9 and 10 are communicating the message of the living and true God and those who once served idols can now serve by the power of the Holy Ghost vs 5, the one who came from heaven, the Son, who was raised from the dead, delivered us by faith vs 3 from the wrath to come, even Jesus.
  • Chris - In Reply - 1 year ago
As far as human perceptions & judgements go, Nstew, I agree with you, that as Saul did, so we also, when faced with a problem we automatically look for other options (Plans B, C, etc.) to give us relief. However, Saul's situation was different. He received a clear Word from the LORD, through Samuel, & knowing how God clearly spoke through His prophets & what was spoken would come to pass, Saul should have been focussed on believing the Word given & obeying it completely. If Saul took his eyes off his circumstances & his fearful army hiding in caves & bushes & wholly trusted in the LORD, come what may, then he would have done very well & seen the "salvation of the LORD".

But he responded without faith, trusting in his plans to get them out of the mess, which also clearly mirrors how often we, even as Christians, respond in difficult, sometimes overwhelming situations. But when we do hear the Word of the LORD clearly to our hearts (from the Word read or the Holy Spirit), we must single-mindedly adhere to His Direction to know His Blessing & a perfect outcome. But if we don't obey, we, or another, might just suffer in some way, but hopefully we would have learned an important lesson to fully trust in God no matter what our minds or hearts tell us. Saul suffered & his crown was given to another.

    Hi Cheryl1655,

If I may, the word even is italicized, it was added by the translators thinking it would help English understanding. Read it without the word even and see if that helps. Sometimes the italicized words help, but sometimes they don't. In this verse, it is not two, it is one, the Son of God, Jesus the Messiah/Christ.

My understanding of this verse, we are to wait for God's Son/Jesus who will be coming from heaven, (Jesus's second coming) the Son whom God raised from the dead, 2000 years ago is Jesus. And Jesus/the Son of God is the one who died for us and delivered us from the wrath to come.

I hope this helps and forgive me if I have made it more confusing.

    God bless,

    RLW

Been there done that, we definitly get caught up in lifes turmoils in trying to juggle work, home, family & friends not wanting to upset anything or cause more turmoil. Take a step back, turn to His word & pray daily for His guidance. If you earnestly seek Him, He knows your inner most heart, He will guide you to what He wants for you & yours yet when He does, listen.! Took me yrs to learn how to shut out the noise around me but now, wow, what an awesome feeling of His peace that really does pass all understanding. You'll still have struggles yet walk by Him & they will smooth out faster & your knowlege of His will for us, will grow & you will prosper.! It's amazing.!

*Heavenly Father please be w/CSmith925 as they are in need of your love & guidance now. I pray your will for them saturates their soul allowing them to grow in your love & wisdom daily.! In Jesus name I pray, Amen.!

Remember Jessica & her family in their daily walk (or getting to know you) as well as David Lord, in keeping him in your love & wisdom.! In Christ Jesus name, I pray these thing, Amen.!

    Blessings Cheryl1655,

For clarification, Chris correctly used the term "this" Jesus in the fourth sentence of his reply, referring to the Son. For further clarification, the word "even" in v 10 doesn't infer to an additional individual other than Jesus. Try replacing the word "even" with the word "yes"; or the words "who is", and of course the word "even.

What I read in this verse reminds me that it was the power from the God of Life which overcame death. The rising of Jesus manifested in deliverance. It didn't occur through crucifixion which is death. Although this death appears as reality to us, how real was it to God and/or Jesus to whom death holds no power over.

It would seem reasonable that God's Holy Son couldn't fear death at all because God God is Life, not death, and thus death is meaningless because what God creates shares His life. Oh death, where is thy sting now?

Just as Perfect Love drives out fear, so does God Who is Life drive out its opposite which is death. Life and death cannot coexist: both cannot be God's reality; truth. Perhaps they both cannot be ours.

    God Is

    peace

Love his enthusiasm of how lufe is & what things should be like, like his teaching from Proverbs. Spot on.! He does a great job, IF he wants to be an influancer & in my opinion, he really should concentrate on children.

I'd have liked to hear more God truth cuz evil is something we all know & see daily & to keep focusing on it, takes our focus off God.! However, from all the ones I listened to, although truthful & very intertaining, (99% to 1%) he doesn't focus on Christ as much as he does the enjoyment of intertaining ppl which inturn gets them feeling good & (in hopes of having a better life), gets them to give their hard earned money getting Nothing inreturn..TILL..

God has to undo everything they learned backwards inorder to open their heart to His truth ! That is:Jesus is The ONLY way, The ONLY truth & The ONLY Life! For w/out HIM & HIS DBR, we are NOTHING my friend.! DEFINITLY NOT as good as Voddie Baucham. At least he reads from THE word & exsplains in detail what things mean biblically, the way God intended.!. NOT other way around. Mr.Jennings does it worldly, "we are in the world yet not to be of it".!

*Heavenly Father I beg of you to open the hearts of believers that earnestly seek you yet keep getn turned away by wolves in sheeps clothing. Lord I ask that you guide them all before it ends up making your work harder so you can get their minds renewed in your truth. We need more of You in our lives cuz evil comes naturally. Lord, infact, if you would just get ppl AWAY from all electronics even if for a few days, letting them see how times would be when we will not have such. Please, hear my words in prayer as I ask of these things in your Sons name, Amen*.!

Oh, I see, thnx.! Fixen to look up Gino Jennings. Will get bk to you on him. I used to be an avid listener of Joyce Meyers till I figured out her stratagy.! Wow, what I'v found about many t.v. evangalist is just sickening. Some ppl may actually be saved listening to them however, as I was, yet we must keep in mind, God knows & has their heart if they truly believe, He will turn their eyes from evil in Him time.! So yes I most definitly will look Gono up & thank you again. God works w/each of us differantly. Some are going to prefer one over another for how & what they teach according to what God wants for us & in His direction we should follow.!

David, After reading your comment, I want to remind you that we are in a fight between good and evil. I too pray that God will touch someone's heart in the Biden administration that can actually make a difference, yet at the same time I'm careful as to how I pray for this group of evil degenerates. They know what they're doing, as they march toward Marxism and Communism. They are trying to destroy everything good about America.

Look at the overflow of illegal aliens coming across our southern border. We have no idea what the intentions of most of these people are. As a reminder to all: Heaven has borders "Not all who say, Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven ".

I am not trying to be negative, but rather, I want to be realistic as to what is really going on in our country. No matter what happens our God is in control. When Christ returns, He's coming for judgement.

Seek, and ye will find ( Matthew 7:7) By seeking 'A World Deceived' you will find.

Iy is comforting to know that so many people are seeking the truth, By searching 'A World Deceived' it showed 34,200.000 Listings in Canada.

We explained earlier how Satan deceived this whole world ( Rev. 12:9) as confirmed in 2 Cor. 11:13-15 through the Religions of this world with the Mystery Babylon (The Roman Catholic Church) as its head and the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth (other Religions that followed). It didn't refer to a particular Religion or Cult, but it referred to the whole world.

It was Samuel's failure to keep the agreed schedule of his meeting that led to "this sad situation". Why punish Saul for trying a plan B, given the perceived tragedy he was facing?
  • Chris - In Reply - 1 year ago
Hi Nstew. To learn of this sad situation & to the commandment that King Saul had to keep, we need to go back to 1 Samuel chapter 10. After Saul was crowned King over Israel, the prophet Samuel gave him some clear directions in this chapter. One of them was that Saul should head towards Gilgal & after he arrived there, he should wait for Samuel for seven days. After this time, Samuel would come to him, offer sacrifices & give the king further directions ( 1 Samuel 10:7,8).

However, as Saul waited for Samuel to come & the seven days had now expired & Samuel had still not arrived and seeing the fearful condition of his people as they remained before the large advancing Philistine army, took upon himself to offer the burnt offering for God's Mercies & Help upon this outnumbered dejected Saul's army. For this sin, of not abiding by God's Command (through Samuel) to wait & also for conducting the sacrifices himself which he was not authorized to do, Samuel gave Saul the stern rebuke & the promise of the loss of his kingship as a result ( 1 Samuel 13:10-14).

    1 Samuel 13:14

But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.

What was it that " thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee"?
  • GiGi on Numbers 32:23 - 1 year ago
    Continued.

So, if my understanding is correct, Gad and Reuben were not asking to inhabit land outside of what was promised to Abraham. If I am wrong in my understanding and the great river is the Jordan, then these tribes did not want to possess the land promised, but found the land adjacent to Canaan favorable for cattle. If this is the case, then it may seem like they made a decision similar to Lot, who chose land east of the Jordan river also which eventually brought much vexation to him due to the sinfulness of the inhabitants who worshipped idols and were sexually immoral. Will Gad and Reuben run into a similar vexation as Lot?

And it doesn't say when the half-tribe of Manasseh joined up with Gad and Reuben, but perhaps this was a given if all three were cattle ranchers.

I, for one, do not want to settle for less than what God has promised to those who of us who live by faith like Abraham. I don't want to stop short of receiving the fullness of deliverance and redemption from the kingdom of evil, the forgiveness of ALL my sins, and salvation from the wrath of God for my sin. I want to receive the "place" Jesus promised He was going to the Father to prepare us who follow Him. I want to receive the full inheritance as an adopted child of God. Therefore, I do not want to fall short in any way.

We shall see if these tribes actually made a decision that was based on the lead of God or by their own wisdom. Perhaps God intended this to be so that the eastern flank adjacent to Canaan was protected as a buffer from the strong nations in this eastern section or even farther eastward beyond the Euphrates. Maybe these tribes that raised cattle did need this expanse of land to have enough grazing land that was naturally replenished with forage for their cattle. Perhaps cattle need far more range for grazing than sheep or goats. Cattle on the west side of the Jordan would leave too little land for the remaining tribes to raise their crops and herds.
  • GiGi on Numbers 32:23 - 1 year ago
In this chapter we find that the tribes of Reuben and Gad saw that land around where the Israelites were camped east of the Jordan River was excellent for raising cattle. They approached Moses to ask if it was possible for them to take possession of this newly conquered land as their inheritance. Moses was concerned about the effect of this decision on the whole of Israel as it seems that Gad and Reuben were willing to settle for less than the land in Canaan. Moses referred back to the time of the spies sent to assess the land of Canaan and how this bad report affected the faith of the people, causing them to disbelieve that the land promised would be best for them. This disbelief led to the nation wandering in the wilderness for forty years instead of entering the land at the time of the spying. The generation who came out of Egypt died in the wilderness being disinherited by God for their disbelief. The next generation is now on the brink of entering the promised land once again. Moses is concerned that the actions of Gad and Reuben will discourage the other tribes from entering and conquering the peoples in order to possess the land promised to Abraham.

Moses also is concerned that the members of the tribes of Gad and Reuben will not accompany the other tribes into Canaan and participate in warring against the inhabitants of Canaan to take the land for their brethren. The tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh promise to go into the land with the other tribes as warriors, but their wives, children and cattle will be secured in the land east of the Jordan in fenced cities that will keep their families safe. Moses agreed to this plan but warned these tribes how breaking their promise to fight with their brethren would be sinful and would bring judgment from God upon them.

I'm not sure, but I remember that Abraham was promised the land he saw in all directions including east to the great river, which was the Euphrates. I may be wrong on this.

    Hi "Tunney"

    Greetings in Christ JESUS

It's impressive, but it has been two thousand years since JESUS came here, think well about it, passing two thousand years is a gigantic space of time, in fact a huge gap or interval in space and time, but it passed, but will continue to pass. The time is infinite, like the space is infinite too.

And now JESUS WILL RETURN AGAIN HERE IN THE SAME PLACE from where He ascended to the third heavenly environment and a cloud RECEIVED Him ( Acts 1:11) , yes, He will again return now to the same place from where He ascended, and He will reign and lead us in new celestial environment ( Ephesians 1:3) by His power, for a period of 1.000 years(the cloud also will appear again, understand?) , as it is revealed in Philippians 3:20-21: -->20 For our conversation is in heaven (heaven? Ephesians 1:3. Take a look.)-; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto himself. By the way, He made it very clear when He said: All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth- Matthew 28:18.

Get ready, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him- Matthew 25:6 - .

    Lets pray

Unfortunately , there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

  • Oseas - In Reply on Psalms 23 - 1 year ago
    Hi MED960102

Supplement your heavenly study of the Word of our GOD,the Word of Life, with this wonderful, heavenly portion of the Scriptures about the Rod of our GOD,as follows:

1And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man's name upon his rod.

3And thou shalt write Aaron's name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers.

4 And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you.

5 And it shall come to pass, THAT THE MAN'S ROD, WHOM I SHALL CHOOSE, SHALL BLOSSOM: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.

6 And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, and every one of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers' houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.

7 And Moses laid up the rods before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness.

8 And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.

9 And Moses brought out all the rods from before the Lord unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod.

10 And the Lord said unto Moses,Bring Aaron's rod again before the testimony,to be kept for a token against the rebels;and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.

11 And Moses did so:as the Lord commanded him,so did he.

12 And the children of Israel spake unto Moses, saying,Behold, we die, we perish, we all perish.

13 Whosoever cometh any thing near unto the tabernacle of the Lord shall die: shall we be consumed with dying

    GOD BLESS

In studying this particular psalm, it seems that (perhaps) there may be a difference between "thy rod and thy staff," in that they represent two things. "Thy rod," may mean God's discipline, while "thy staff," may mean as Our Shepherd, eg. how and where he leads us when we follow his Divine Will.

    Dear Valswords,

I think you've come to a good place to get some advice regarding your issue at hand. FrankieJ touched on some for you, and there are a lot of folks here that are very loving/caring and have great Biblical insight in regards to the subject of marriage and adultery.

If I'm understanding, you stated that you feel uncomfortable living in sin and would like to address it in some manner. You also stated that Jesus didn't mention anything to the Samaritan woman. John 4:18 He may have, and it wasn't noted/recorded, it could have been just between the two of them. Also, after her encounter with Jesus she may have had a spiritual life changing moment that would be the motivation for her to make the necessary changes in her life too extricate herself from the sinful situation she was living in. We just don't know all those details.

Here's my thoughts on your situation. You have some options:

1- Get married if you want to live together and remain in a sexual relationship.

2- Live together as friends that love and care for each other without sex of any kind in the picture. Without sex there is no adultery, so no sin. This relationship would be like 2 siblings living together, a son and his Mother, I could go on, or any number of people living together loving and caring for each other and sharing their resources without any sex in the relationship.

3-Get out of the relationship and remove the sin from your life.

This life we have on this earth is very short, our next life is for eternity, I can understand your need to get it right with God on this issue. God can and will forgive you of all your prior sins, and each new day is a fresh start, so I applaud you for listening to that small still voice inside you urging you to stop sinning.

Pray to God for His help on this, His Holy Spirit is urging you to change, call on His strength, and His guidance to steer you free from not only this sin, but all sin.

The LORD GOD'S mercy is renewed every day. Even as sinful as we may currently be, the LORD will send healing and comfort when we acknowledge HIM, trust HIM, and obey HIS commandments.

Let us pray for our nation's repentance and trust in the LORD, as well for each individual person.

The LORD GOD to shine HIS glorious face upon all who love, trust and walk in HIM. May our worship of the LORD JESUS CHRIST be true and faithful; as we seek to praise and glorify our SAVIOR in all we do.
