Thank you, thank you, thank you !!! This is most always overlooked (or ignored). Also, I don't believe for a second that the Father would let His beloved Son's burial cloth be in the hands of a church that is nothing but idol worship (I used to be Catholic-I know !!). It's just another of MANY deceptions.

    Amen Brother Giannis.

Well spoken! Our circumstances and environment in life shapes us and we learn from those experiences we encounter.

I remember being in a discussion with another leader at the Church.

We both was in charge of administrated duties and we both taught Sunday School classes but we disagreed on a certain conduct matter. (mostly me disagreeing on what I believed to be partiality going on in the Church that I spoke up against. )

The other Brother couldn't quite see it as I did.

He sat in front of me at the table and I set a solid partition between us.

I asked him, "can you see what's going on this side of the partition and he said no and I told him I couldn't see what was going on on his side.

We both could see the partition but from different perspectives.

I learned from what I saw on my side and he learned from what he saw on his side.

He would have to come over to my side and view the matter from my perspective and that would be impossible.

We learn things from different vantage points that shapes who we are.

By the way the Pastor addressed most of the issues going on in the Church.

    Blessings.

A consideration of the fall and it affected our interpersonal reactions

As a general point; sin led to us having to learn what was lost but also involves having to UNLEARN all that has blinded us since the Fall.

As I stated in the last post we all start out rather self focused; this in itself isn't necessarily TOTALLY due to the fall or necessarily wrong (we could look at Christ or John the Baptist as examples) but God calls some such as John the Baptist and Jeremiah from birth. What makes sin a vice is when someone learns how to pursue deliberate actions for the sole purpose of self satisfaction at the expense of others. No decent mother would tell a 2 year old they are being selfish for crying for food. To explain that it is your sin nature; and the whole concept of repentance is beyond their grasp until later on; although by nature kids manipulation is often well developed and parents tend to be led toward bargaining and then to the extreme of abusive rebuke as if they are an adult. Neither purpose is effective; of course.

The idea I'm proposing here is how would man have interacted with one another if they hadn't fallen? How would Adam and Eve and their children reacted?

Now that we're redeemed; in the same liine of thinking we should begin to think how we are part of a heavenly army.

Isaiah 13:4 says "Listen, a noise on the mountains, like that of a great multitude! Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms, like nations massing together! The LORD Almighty is mustering an army for war.

There are other verses such as Joel 2 and many Psalms that also deal with these concepts. Our future involves interactions with other heavenly Host (such as we see in Hebrews 11); as well as with those physical survivors of the Millennium. We will rule and reign over angels as well as we see in Hebrews 1:14 as well as judge them as 1 Corinthians states.

We have a glorious future. This world is not our home IF we are truly born from above.

Psalm 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

    Ecclesiastes 1:9

9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

When we consider our own helpless state as a believer no doubt we ponder its inception with the fall of Adam and Eve. WE all start (with the exception of course of the aforementioned first two people on earth) with an initial point of self perception where the world progresses from our own world to that of interactions with others with various levels of trauma up until the point where we encounter the living God and enter into a rebirth not of this world. As Christians hopefully we will get to some understanding as to the true meaning of our lives and the interactions with others related to good works He has prepared ahead of time for us to accomplish. Ephesians 2:10 states: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

In all of this; we should be cognizant of the fact that the original rebellion was with Lucifer long ago ( Isaiah 14; Ezekiel 28); and this whole world system is just a reflection of the kingdom Satan and his minions have temporarily hijacked so that God's purposes can be fulfilled. We are as chess pieces on the chessboard; God does the moving of the pieces and Satan is the king who eventually after knocking out his competition will himself be "taken out of the game" so to speak when the time comes.

I have compared life to a stage play as well as with this analogy. For the Creator to interact with His creation and actually live and die as one of us to procure our redemption was; of course the game changer; or put the final checkmate on the enemy of our souls; as well as ending our condemnation as pawns moved about on the board. Our part should be to move when and where He tells us to.

    Willow, pt 2

So a person might have lived a happy childhood and became a happy careless person. But another person may have lived in an abusive environment and so he formed a cautious and tough character. Otherwise he wouldn't had been able to cope with that environment. When the first person sees the second person through his own glasses he may see a bad person, because he doesn't know the conditions that that second person has gone through. He can not understand that those conditions have shaped his life. It wasn't that second person's choice. It was the result of his life. So he judges him strictly and according to his own experience. And this is completely wrong.

When we are strict judges of people God takes us through the same path they had gone through. And only then, when we are having the same experiences as them, we can really understand them and be merciful to them. Because we want to be merciful to ourselves really.

We know that Christ took the human nature. I am wondering did God really know how it feels pain before that? I don't think so. When did God really know how it feels? When He felt pain, hunger, tiredness, illness... through Christ. He only then could understand us what we are going through. Again some thoughts of mine, I may be wrong.

Well God is the best psychiatrist. He made us, He knows our nature, He even became one of us. And He knows how to treat each one of us.

    Blessings.

    Hello Willow, pt1

What do you think of the Shroud of Turin? Is it true or fake? Putting on the "glasses" of the Word of God what do you see?

About the other things you wrote, it is true that reality or truth is unique but the way each one of us perceives it differs from a person to a person. The way we perceive our environment has to do with our own individual filters, as you said. Though I would use the word "glasses" instead. We see the world through our own glasses or filters. What we see and how we interprete it has to do with our own experiences from our lives. And this has to do with our character. Our character is a mixture of things we inherit from our ancestors eg cleverness, even passions and certain weaknesses that pass down from generation to generation and the experience in our lives especially during the age that our personality is formed, the young age. Things are vage and unclear when we are little kids and start forming as we grow older. Random things take certain shape. And this differs from person to person.

But as far as whole communities are concerned, I have never thought of it. I would think that people see their environment depending on the conditions of that environment. So eg when a group of people are living in a jungle full of wild animals they have to be conscious all the time. So they use the past to "see" the future, meaning that the experiences from the past help them see and cope with future challenges. Maybe my thoughts are wrong, they are just thoughts.

Your post reminded me of a speech I have heard on the net recently. It was from a priest who had studied psychology as well as theology and so he was combing both in his preaching.

In simple words what he was saying is that we see the others though our own glasses and this is wrong. Because we all have gone through different events in our lives which have shaped our characters (plus the characteristics we all inherit from our parents which also differ from person to person).

"If the Shroud of Turin is legitimate (which seems undeniable)"

The Scriptures deny the legitimacy of the Shroud of Turin.

-- John 20:7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

The Shroud is a one piece woven cloth, Christ was not bury in a one piece linen cloth. His head was wraped in a separate "napkin" and was laid apart from the the burial shourd.

-- John 11:44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

Lazarus was also buried the same.

-- 2 Corinthians 5:14-17 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

With the Holy Spirit within us, we no longer live according to our sinful nature. We recognize that the flesh is inherently corrupt, so there's no need to judge or understand someone based on their outward, physical self-instead, we should connect with them on a spiritual level. God doesn't focus on the flesh, and neither should we. When sharing the gospel with those who are lost, their carnal side will always resist it. That's why we must appeal to their inner spirit, witnessing to that part of them and guiding them away from worldly desires.

Jesus didn't resurrect in a physical body but in a glorified, spiritual one. As believers filled with the Spirit, we eagerly await our own spiritual bodies. Though we haven't received them yet, we're already transformed-we're not who we once

How Does Trust in God Translate into Daily Life? pt2

    5. "In Material Provision"

Trust in God shapes our attitude toward money and possessions.

Practical Translation: You work hard, but you do not depend solely on wealth for your happiness. You are generous because you trust that God will provide for your needs.

Inner State: You recognize that God is the great Provider and that He cares for you as He cares for the birds of the air ( Matthew 6:26).

Trust, then, in daily life is the active choice to surrender control and our worries to God, living with peace and certainty, regardless of external circumstances.

Would you like to suggest some other practical ways to cultivate this trust (e.g., through prayer or study)?

    Have a Blessed Week.

How Does Trust in God Translate into Daily Life? pt1

Hello to all, I have read somewhere the following:

Trust in God is not an abstract concept. It translates into specific practical behaviors and inner states that affect the way we live, think, and face challenges.

    1. In Dealing with Anxiety and Fear

    "Trust turns fear into peace"

Practical Translation: Instead of being paralyzed by worry about the future (job, health, finances), you do what you can and then leave the outcome in God's hands.

Inner State: You adopt the mindset: "I have done what is humanly possible. Now, I trust that God, who sees the big picture, will provide the best for me, according to His will." This brings inner peace ( Psalm 46:1).

    2. In Decision Making

"Trust provides guidance and removes uncertainty"

Practical Translation: Before making a big decision (career change, moving), you pray for guidance and wisdom, rather than relying solely on your own logical abilities.

Inner State: You recognize that God's wisdom surpasses your own. You trust that if you commit the decision to God, He will "He shall direct thy paths." ( Proverbs 3:5-6), even if the path seems unclear at first.

    3. In Interpersonal Relationships

"Trust in God affects how we view others and ourselves".

Practical Translation: When you feel wronged or hurt, instead of holding a grudge or seeking revenge, you trust God to bring justice or comfort. You focus on forgiveness.

Inner State: You rely on God's Love for your worth, rather than seeking constant validation from people. This makes you freer and less demanding in your relationships.

    4. In Trials and Difficulties

    "Trust turns pain into opportunity"

Practical Translation: When you face an illness or loss, you don't see the situation as a dead end, but as part of a larger plan.

Inner State: You believe that "all things work together for good to those who love God" ( Romans 8:28). This faith allows you to look for the lesson or empowerment hidden within the trial, keeping hope alive.

Well in short it seems evident from scripture that we will recognize those who are on the other side; I thought these references would help.

Luke 20:38 states For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

Perhaps all my other commentary wasn't helpful; but my main point is to show that seeing the Lord in someone is the part which lasts forever. Our familiarity with things on this earth are based on things which are temporary quite often-maybe not in your case but our fallen nature often sidetracks us with things such as fleeting youth; and worldly talent; or something as basic as a way a family tends to operate which a memory of someone often can trigger. God has uniquely made all of us but it is for reflecting His glory not our own; and this life is often a painful reminder of how we are all as a vapor on the earth; here and gone.

Another approach to this could be that it is common for us to focus on those we know rather than the multitude of other saved souls who we will interact with once we're up there.

Perhaps I'm more introspective on this since my Mom passed away this past January and my Dad is now in a Memory Care facility with pretty advanced Dementia at this point. The house is now empty but I see how it used to operate with all the proclivities our life here involved.

I do a lot of thinking so anyway no need to sweat it; go to the Scriptures first and search all things.

    Agape.

    To Richard:

    Proverbs 30:11

How's your Father? Glad he's in a safe place. His needs are bring met. That he has you to keep up with him. God bless and keep you strong

in the Lord. Thank God you are not named among these generations.

11There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. 12There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. 13There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. 14There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

Your post brought out some important points.

Kindness, love and compassion leads us to dwell more on justification and redemption and less on Rites and Judging.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Be blessed.

    2 Corinthians 5:16 states:

16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

This verse apparently involves judging someone's character on outside appearances; but I think it gives us an idea how to approach this subject. Our proclivities when on earth of course are character traits which all men; saved and unsaved represent as to our familiarity and memories of them; with their eternal state nonetheless reflecting the condition of their soul (redeemed or unregenerate).

This verse also mentions Christ; and many have tried to portray His image (not a good idea in regard to the 1st Commandment where we are told not to make an image of anything and worship it). If the Shroud of Turin is legitimate (which seems undeniable); then it is interesting how it isn't worshipped as an icon; but we see many icons or in reality idols representing Christ and Biblical characters which are "venerated" as to their sainthood.

As believers we need to get beyond nostalgia and such because what is important is the eternal and redeemed state of a person in Christ and their individual part in the whole Body of Christ which focuses on His righteousness where we will serve; rule and reign with Him for all eternity. We all will; if proven faithful be rewarded with crowns which will represent our authority and place in the Kingdom.

We can look to David's mention of the child who died with Bathsheeba as he looked forward to going to him someday. We can look to Moses and Elijah who appeared before Christ at the Transfiguration and see the focus of the discussion was centered on Christ; clearly He had communed with them already in the past so that this was just the time and place for fulfillment of things they were already given informed about with intimate fellowship in heaven. (I would say Elijah hasn't died and is one of the 2 last day witnesses).

    Hope this helps somewhat.

Thank you brother for those good pertinent observations. Things certainly won't get better even as God's Word tells us, and "evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived". It's spiritual enlightenment that people need, not technology savviness or business acumen. And that enlightenment can only be by the way of the Cross where sin is exposed and sin is dealt with. Unless the sinner is found at the foot of the Cross turning from his sin, the only hope he can have is the one given to our first parents by Satan, "and ye shall be as gods". And we know where that got them. Even as sin becomes ever more rampant, may our Christian lives and the preaching of the power that's in the Gospel of Grace remain a formidable hedge against that tide of evil. GBU.

    Thanks brother Chris.

I think nowadays people suffer mental problems firstly because of the pace of our lives and the pressure we are under. Technology has improved our lives but on the other hand we have to do a lot of things in shorter periods of time. The pace of our lives has become fast. And this causes pressure. Pressure to achieve things fast. People are like robots who always seem to try to catch up with their everyday obligations. Staying quite is something extraordinary nowadays.

Also people have become more and more sinful. Crime has climbed up. I come from a country where a few decades ago crime was almost zero even though people were poor and came out of the ruins of the WW2. They were poor but moral. Nowadays we have everything we need for a good living but crime has gone up to the stars. Why? Because sin has gone up. Respect to one another has disappeared. People are lonely. Societies are loose knit. Relations between people are not tight as before . Love has gone the downhill . There is no boundary for sin . Through the internet sin comes inside any house in any country of the world. Globalization is not only economic. But it is also cultural and moral. (It is strange to think that at this time two people like me and you on the opposite sides of the globe can communicate one with another at the same time).

Let us not fool ourselves, we are not expecting for better times. The scriptures have warned us about that. People will become worse and worse and christians will feel like Lott in Sodom, torturing our souls by seeing and hearing the inhabitants of this world.

But we are waiting for our Savior to come and take us in a place were no fear nor pain nor sadness nor death will ever exist.

"And the Spirit and the Bride say come. Come Lord Jesus."

    "Blessings

    The Gospel.

In Matthew 23:25-26 "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

The only way for Israel to cleanse out the inside of the cup is to come to Christ then the outside of them may be clean also!

Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:5-6 "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

This is a spiritual heart transplant!

The stoney heart is removed and replaced with a heart of flesh.

A heart that is moved by the Holyspirit!

This is necessary for EVERYONE that seeks salvation.

There has to be an acknowledgement of brokenness, insufficiency and inability to right yourself.

This cause for repentance, (A turning to Christ) for Justification, Sanctification and then Glorification .

In John 6:35-37- Jesus says "I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and HIM THAT COMETH TO ME I WILL IN NO WISE CAST OUT.

(This means he will reject no-one.)

When a person comes to one for prayer, admitting he's a sinner desiring salvation, he's on the right track!

Their heart is right and a door has opened for you to deliver the good news. (The Gospel of Christ!)

That's where we all have started as we continue to be sanctified by the Spirit that dwells in us!

What is that Gospel and how might it be presented to the broken hearted?

    Forgiveness, pt 2

A brother in Christ told me an incident that happened to him in the past. He had a very bad time at work. He had a fight with some of his colleagues. He got very angry and shouted a lot. He was thinking about it all day long and couldn't get it out of his mind. He couldn't forgive hmself. He thought, how could he behave like that? He couldn't believe that he was the one who behaved like that. And he fell into some sort of depression.

In the afternoon, while he was driving, he stopped at a traffic light. A woman started to cross the road. She was carrying many books in her hands. Suddenly she fell down and the books flew all over the ground. But she immediately got up, shook the dust off her dress, picked up the books, and quickly crossed the road. The brother felt the voice of God within him. "Did you see what that woman did? Do exactly the same. Get up quickly, shake the dust (sin) off of you, and keep going your way. (What are you doing staying down on the street? Get up quickly.)"

Often God allows incidents like that to occur in our lives. Not for humiliating us. But for us to realize that we all have limits. And we are not as capable as we think we are. And so to go to Him and ask for help. For His grace. Because without his grace we will not go far. This is how we become humble.

    Blessings.

    Forgiveness, pt 1

The greek for "forgive" is "sygchoro". It comes from the words "syn" (plus, together, more) and "choros" (space). It actually means "together in a place". Or "to fit together in a place". Or "to give space to someone or something". Space where? In my heart. I make room in my heart so that my brother can fit there too. To broaden my heart so that there is always room for other people there.

To accept that they are people like me. And people make mistakes, just like I do. Nobody is perfect. Only God is.

When we are strict judges of our brothers, then God allows us to walk the same path that our brothers had gone through. And then we see how it really feels like. And we see how we ourselves behave. And we wouldn't want others to be strict judges of us, would we? That's how we become more merciful.

Psychologists say that love and forgiveness are medicine for our soul. They say that love and forgiveness drive away all the negative emotions (anger, bitterness, hate, etc) that destroy the heart and mental health of people. This is true. When we follow God's commandments, to love and forgive, the main effect is on ourselves. We are the ones who are healed, not the others.

(Moreover, we come to church to heal ourselves, not our brothers. The latter is God's job, not ours.)

And let's think. Shouldn't we first forgive ourselves? When we make a mistake, it's not the end of the world. We are not perfect, we make mistakes. Many people suffer because they cannot forgive themselves. This is called pride. And it is due to a lack of awareness of our true nature. We are human. We have our limits. And day after day we find our limits in front of us. In the workplace with our colleagues, at home with our families, with our friends, with our brothers. Let's not condemn ourselves, but let's give ourselves opportunities to change. We will never be perfect, but we can produce more and more fruit in our lives. And so the grace of God will be upon us.

    ... see pt 2

I have a problem with your statements.

For one thing is it not written that God says " seek my face"? Did not David respond with " Thy face will I seek"?

And did not God testify that He spoke with Moses face to face as a man speaks with another man?

While I agree with your first premise that no flesh can see God and even as no man can look at the sun with impunity with his 'naked' eyes .How much the more can any man look upon Gods face with his naked eyes?

But what of Job and his confession in the last couple of chapters?

The angels of God around the throne cover their faces with their wings but we behold his glory in the face of Jesus Christ .

When Jesus said " I am the way the truth and the life ,no man cometh unto the Father accept by me " that is not just for our salvation . It is always by Him that we can come " boldly into the presence of God" that we might find grace and mercy in time of need .

When at the last supper and the Lord was speaking much of the Father . One of the disciples saud " show us the Father and we will be satisfied " Jesus replied ," Have I been with you so long .and you do not know me?" Know you not they that have seen me have seen the Father ? That I am in the Father and the Father is in Me ".

"Little children your sins are forgiven and you know the father " 1John .

" Ye fathers you know Him who is from the beginning "

Little children know their fathers face how much more do " ye fathers"?
  • Gerald - In Reply - 3 days ago
There needs to be a distinction as there is in the scriptures between tribulation which all saints will go through "in this world ".

And the " great tribulation" which if Hod did not shorten ( the number) the days no one would be saved " This comes after what is commonly called the " rapture " but I think shouild be more accurately called the" translation" of the Bride who having been caught up to meet "the Lord in the air " goes to the marriage supper of the Lamb . ( see 5 wise virgins) .

In so leaving this earth all restraints on "the spirit of antichrist " are removed and we get the coming of the antichrist .

Much of the confusion about these end times comes from not making that distinction and counting tribulation as all one . But also misunderstanding and bad teaching also concerning the nature character and disposition of the Bride of Christ .

For the Bride is a body from a body . Even as Eve was taken from the body of the first Adam

So the Bride will be taken from the body of the last Adam .

To be BORN again qualifies us to " run the race" it does not win us the prize .

Every true born child of God is called to that " high calling" but it is our response determines the end .

Even as exposure to truth does not change a person but their response to it.

Out of all the disciples you had Peter James and John who saw and partook of things the others did not .

Out of all the tribes of Isreal who had an inheritance one tribe had no inheritance for " God was their inheritence".

There are other examples if you look for them .

When the Lord said " one of you shall betray me" they ALL said " "Is it I?" Apart from John who asked " who is it Lord" ? He knew it was not him and it was him who leaned upon his chest .

When we look at the ultimate and final meaning of this prophecy we see the Tribulation saint martyrs. We can certainly extrapolate today's suffering church as well as apply this to our daily death to the sin nature; the world system and Satan.

In light of this I have some personal thoughts; not a "thus saith the Lord" but nonetheless I find a need to get into it.

We are all aware; more or less at this site how late the hour is. Some if not most are already in a predetermined path to suffer in the Tribulation; and some will escape out of it as I see Scripture. There will be saved and unsaved at that time as God refines His people primarily to purge out the dross and goes through the predetermined phases of judgments leading to Armageddon and His arrival to overthrow the Beast and his partner in crime and establish the long awaited Kingdom of Christ in the Millennium.

My first warning is that mere factual assent isn't enough to save us and if we are saved the Spirit dwells in us ( John 16:8). For a true believer the enemy would love to sidetrack us to avoid effective witness and try to convince us we will be left behind (at least in my case). Whether it is this side of the Rapture or not we risk catastrophic spiritual defeat if we put our hopes; fears or dreams in this world system.

Prayer warriors are needed in this hour; much as they will during the Tribulation with the incense of their prayers mentioned before the seal and trumpet judgments. For those dying during this Tribulation period there is no vagueness about it; we will be along with the world well aware of our soul going to heaven after martyrdom.

Let us be wary to avoid traps which could ensnare us. The world as most here know is being set up ( Isaiah 8:14; 2 Thessalonians; etc). We all must guard our hearts ( Prov. 4:23).

So the word "corn" comes from Germanic and was written as "korn" in some Early English sources. It literally just means grain. Maize is a better term when referring to the American crop.
