do my parents who have passed recognize me when I get to heaven?

Also do they listen to my prayers to them right now?

I have to apologize to them right now for not being the best daughter as a result of having OCD not in control. But I have always loved them. I feel so guilty

Brother Chris, Thank you for updating your testimony for us. My memory is less than wonderful and I have never gone back more than a few pages on this discussion to remember better, past discussions perhaps with you. I live below and within a mile of the dam that had issues in Northern California and was thereby interested in details. There was a man also from your city that also had lots of interests, I wonder if you might know him? Have a good day in the Lord.

  • Simon on Revelation 7 - 4 years ago
THE FIRST RESURRECTION: The seventh trumpet resurrection happens in the twinkling of an eye. ( 1 Corinthians 15:51-52) Judgment for these resurrected Christians takes place in the space between the seventh trumpet and before the twinkling, rather simultaneously.

The 144,000 out of great tribulation are judged ( Revelation 20:4) and made whole. These are the elect only, no others. Resurrection scriptures were tailored for the elect, of the great tribulation, who rise first.

The resurrection accounts of the 144,000 are on record, and their numbers add up: "10,000 x 10,000 = 100,000 + thousands and thousands" is another way of saying 144,000. ( Revelation 7:9 [that's them]) ...a great multitude...in white robes...out of the great tribulation. ( Revelation 11:12)

( Revelation 5:11) And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands.

( Revelation 7:13-14) And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes (fifth seal brethren) and whence came they?....they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes...

It makes sense for the 144,000 to rule the world with Christ for the 1,000 years. Then bring up the balance for the new heaven and new earth.

For resurrection perspective, the current world population is 7.8 billion people.

Conservatively speaking, 25 billion Christians have lived since the first century AD.

If these 25 billion dead in Christ are resurrected at the last trumpet, where will they go?

25 billion (physically) are not sustainable, suggesting that the first fruits are a small body of the core church. Many will remain asleep.

THE SECOND RESURRECTION: God's balance of 108 billion souls will come to the table. ( Ecclesiastes 12:7) The new earth & new heaven will accommodate all.

Why is there a discrepancy in the first book of John, when it says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." This is the King's James Version. The JW's version says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was A god." I believe the King's James version to be correct. Am I wrong about this?

Who were these "officers" recorded in John 18:3?

These particular band and officers were not Roman soldiers. These were Jewish temple officers and their band of subordinates employed by temple officials to enforce the proper entrance and behavior of the Jews' activities when on the temple's campus, or in the temple's structures, and certainly within the temple proper.

Compare the expression "the captain of the temple" (Ac. 4:1; 5:24, 26) identifying the Jewish officer appointed to preserve the temple's sanctity.

Rome did not involve its legionary officers and captains in such Jewish matters, nor would the Jews care to have such Roman Gentile involvement. Rome seldom involved herself in mitigating Jewish disagreements concerning their laws and traditions. Pilate so much as said so when Caiaphas delivered JESUS to Pilate for judgment ( Jn. 18:31): "Take ye HIM, and judge HIM according to your law."

The following explanatory exegesis substantiate that this band and officers were Jews:

1st, they were "from the chief priests and Pharisees" (v.3) and "of the Jews" (v.12). Roman officials would not humiliate themselves into Jewish servitude in such fashion. Doing so would be tantamount to the conquerors serving the conquered.

2nd, John 7:28 and 32 reveals the employment of Jewish officers to accomplish temple tasks and missions. There, CHRIST taught in the temple (v. 28) when "the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take HIM" (v.32). The Pharisees and the chief priests would never send heathen Gentile Roman military officers into the temple for any reason.

One of the strengths of the KJV is the identification of the Greek verb tenses by the the use of the "est" and "eth" suffixes. That said, I have never seen them explained anywhere. I understand that one is the continuous present tense and the other the immediate present tense but which is which I am not certain about. Can anyone clarify?

The suffixes are also used in the OT but I am sure whether on not the different tenses exist in the original Hebrew.

Is there any area of your life that is out of control?

A lack of self- control in any part of our lives does not fit who we are in Christ. His desire is that we live in full surrender to Him so that His Spirit can produce in us the fruit of self-control.

    The flesh versus the Spirit.

Self-control requires that we think before we act.

We must have a strong desire to obey God.

We must believe in our hearts that the Holy Spirit who lives within us will enable us.

When we are tempted to yield to sin, we should ask ourselves these questions-

    1. How will this affect me spiritually?

    2. How will this affect me financially?

    3. How will this affect my health?

How will it affect others how they will see me?

Never be deceived by the evilness of this world.

    Stay Strong!!!

    Hello all,

I just thought I would state this detail of a verse that came to light.

    In Colossians 1:19. For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fulness dwell;

As this is after speaking of Jesus Christ being the image of the invisible God and by Him and for Him were all things created. You may note that "the Father" is in italics in verse 19. Because in the Textus Receptus it is not there. It would actually read something like "for in Him it was pleasing that all the fullness dwelt".

Jesus Christ is more than a man and He existed before He was born. He was in on Creation. I can't understand how some would state that all the Words in His mouth were of His Father. Of coarse I understand the Father is in Him and giving Him all His Words to speak. Though you can easily see Jesus Christ is His own person with His own soul. Speaking to and of the Father constantly. Jesus Christ is most definitely ONE with the Father and just as much God though the Son. He is at the right Hand of God. A couple more verses stating He existed before He was born: John 3:12-13, John 6:38, John 5:45-47, John 6:62, John 8:58.

Maybe just to bring up the Angel of the LORD in the OT. Just one instance is Exodus 23:21. Not just a regular angel or even an archangel. How in Joshua 5:13-15. Where a Host of YHWH tells Joshua to take his shoes off for he is on Holy ground. As in Exodus 3:1-6. Again said to be an Angel of the LORD which is then stated as YHWH. God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Where Moses is told to take His shoes off. I would think because where YHWH is, is Holy ground.

I believe the Angel of the Lord in the OT is the pre incarnate Jesus Christ. Could I be wrong? Yes. As I have many other things to prove YHWH is not just one as normal people may perceive. Almighty God is ONE period.

I really don't know why people are trying to attack the deity of Christ. One day we will all have to stand before Him.

    God Bless.

Unknown tongues vs Prophesy: which one is preferred?

Those who receive the Holy Ghost do not normally speak in an unknown tongue, a tongue that only God understands. Unknown tongues yield little value on the spiritual spectrum. It's good between that person and God, but does nothing to enlighten others.

    ( 1 Corinthians 14:2-5;27,28)

2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

    Unknown tongue restrictions:

27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

vs 5: I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied...
