''But if our unrighteousness serves to show the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unrighteous to inflict wrath on us? ''( english standard version bible )
how can our unrighteousness will demonstrate gods righteousness?
abner knows that killing asahel will provoke jovab.
What was His purpose
Jesus tells us plainly in Matthew 13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed (weeds) tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. (first the tares WEEDS get gathered, the wheat last) could it be any more plain than this?
Matthew 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
That would be like marrying his daughter. And if God created everything and everyone then we are all related in some sort. We only know of incest now because we were taught to recognize it as a sin but in those times the main importance was to multiply and fill the earth with souls for the glorification of God.
Why should this be so heavily disputed? It is an act of obedience (ie. if it was good enough for Jesus it's good for me too)
When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior(born again), you are Sealed by the Holy Spirit; baptized in the Spirit. He is so gentle that if you aren't sure about His gifts (can I say it? Tongues) you don't have to say anything; He already knows it. Most important HE IS YOUR TEACHER. He can't teach you very much if you do not study the Bible for yourself!!! How do you feel when you have to spoon feed baby food, year after year. Jesus wants us to rely heavily on Him. Receive the Holy Spirit, His Gifts, His Ministry, everything.
One of the Psalms is totally about Jesus. Maybe someone here can remind me which one? All I know is that there are 150 Psalms. Psalm 91 is a real keeper. Psalm 51 is for repentance (I use it a lot)
Goodnight beloveds
Thank you.
They don't! Our culture doesn't require it. They caution about waivers to the spouses property & cash in case of a divorce.
Did Jesus go all technical and legalistic with the woman at the well? What is the HEART of the Law?
In addition to pain, suffering, loss of material things, financial things, children, loss of home, etc.
Add to this a ton of guilt to carry the rest of your limited human life; because you didn't know Gods laws? ...amazing grace.
What is the significance of humble ourselves in the sight of the lord. Is it position or place?
