11When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets :

12 Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.

"the secrets" = private parts. "cut off her hand"

    Isn't this overkill?

But raping women is just fine???

The more I read the Bible the more I just want to avoid people and stay in the house.

Friend, you stated in pt 4

"Why do we say that sanctification makes us blameless, not faultless? Because the Grace of God working in us does not make us infallible. Sin has so perverted our moral and spiritual powers that we shall never in this present life be free from the infirmities of human nature."

This is a subtle lie, cleverly disguise within a lot of truth, whether intentional or not, I hope it was the later.

blameless def; is an adjective that means "innocent of wrongdoing" or "free from blame or fault"

faultless def; is an adjective that means having no fault, mistake, defect, imperfection, blemish, flaw, error, vice, or offense. It describes something that is perfect in all respect

    Titus 2:11-14 all iniquity

Jude 1:24 faultless without blame, without blemish, faultless.

From a (as a negative particle) and momos; unblemished (literally or figuratively) -- without blame (blemish, fault, spot), faultless, unblamable.

    Ephesians 5:27

The Grace of God is the Almighty, who we have in these earthen vessels; Isa 14:27 only to the unbelievers are these things impossible Matt 13:58 Hebrews 3:19

    Sanctification.

    Part 5.

Salvation, which is when you come to know Jesus Christ, is only the beginning of our Christian journey.

Sanctification: being made or becoming holy. To sanctify is to literally be set apart for particular use in a special purpose or work.

    What is Sanctification?

Sanctification Is The Gift of the Fullness Of Your Salvation

    Sanctification Is Not Works Righteousness

Sanctification Is The Gift of Being Perfected In Love.

    Written By Rev. Paul Lawler.

The Gospel preached to Abraham, for our sake.

    Romans 4:19-25.

And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb:

    He staggered not at the PROMISE of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

And being fully persuaded that, what he had PROMISED, he was able also to perform.

And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

    NOW IT WAS NOT WRITTEN FOR HIS SAKE ALONE, that it was imputed to him;

    BUT FOR US ALSO, TO WHOM IT SHALL BE IMPUTED, if we BELIEVE ON HIM THAT RAISED UP JESUS OUR LORD FROM THE DEAD;

Who was delivered for OUR OFFENCES, and was raised again for OUR JUSTIFICATION.

    Galatians 4:28

Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of PROMISE.

    Galatians 3:29

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

    Galatians 3:16-19.

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by PROMISE.

Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

    CONCLUSION

    Galatians 3:27-29.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

    Genesis 22:18.

    God bless.

From Matthew 7:1-3 judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgement ye judge ye shall be judged: & with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why behold thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but consider not the beam that is in thine own eye? .. These have always confused me because in verse 5 it adds that we are Hypocrites if we don't remove the beam in our own eye (our sin/wrong doing) before trying to remove the mote in our brothers eyes. Yet, isn't that the purpose of Jesus DBR Him shedding His blood for All & All sin? If we've already been forgiven of all our sins do we not have the right to say such things to them in love & compassion? Of course only if we live a believers life not just say we are though God knows our heart. In todays trying times if we tell others that they need Jesus for thinking their born gay, trans or otherwise What would be best way to say something to them when they say "judge not that ye be not judged" or "you don't know what I've been through"? I mean I know believers are merely trying to lead them to Christ by speaking His truth but they say that & I'm stumped as to how to respond biblically other than Gen 1:27 or "Gods word is Gods word & needs no adding to it if you believe & want eternal life in heaven instead of eternity in the lake of fire".! "Earnestly seeking Him in prayer, He will find & comfort you in His time, it doesn't happen over night yet you will feel His peace if you truly believe". I also explain, 'we must go through trials to grow wise & be strong because anyone can say 'I'm Christian or I believe' for even satan believes & God doesn't deal with ppl that sit on the fence'. ANYONE with a KJV biblical teaching? thanks.! God bless

For meditation- mostly inspired by a brother in faith that passed away around 22 years ago.

Weeks of years and weeks of days is key.

"Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers." Matthew 23:32 KJV

We believe in a risen Christ!

Gabriel delivered a message to Daniel that in time they (Israel) would finish the transgression. Jesus knew this time and spoke to the Jews that they (the same generation) would finish the measure of the fathers. In Gabriel's message both the people and the holy city would be affected by the determined time, seventy weeks. The pronouncement broke the seventy weeks down in parts. In a way the seventy years of captivity was the latter days for the Jews. From the decree of king Cyrus the seventy weeks began. First seven weeks of years in unsettled times of building back their nation as recorded in Ezra and Jeremiah. Daniel 9:26 states the Messiah will be cut off at 62 weeks. 62 weeks plus the seven weeks would "unto the Messiah" being cut off.

    69 weeks not 70?

Daniel 9:27 says "and he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week" this is the seventieth week or else the phrase "unto the Messiah" makes little sense.

In the middle of the 27th verse of Daniel, in the middle of the week the Messiah "shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease"

In the 70th week Jesus began His ministry of preaching the Gospel "confirmed the covenant with many". Three and one half years later, He was cut off by the crucification. When the Messiah was cutoff after delivering the New Covenant while the Old Covenant ceased at the same time in the middle part of the 70th week. For about forty years from the time of the crucification to the destruction of Jerusalem which began around the same time of the year was a period of Grace for the Jews to repent and be of the first born of God's Holy Church. This period of time completes the 70 weeks. Both verses 9:26 and 27 speak of this last time.

The times of the Gentiles began at this time.

Psalms 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Psalms 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Joel 2:12-14 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?

Jonah 3:4-10 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water: But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

Galatians 2:16-21 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the FAITH OF CHRIST, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. But if, while we seek to be JUSTIFIED BY CHRIST, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the GRACE OF GOD: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

    Hebrews 11

Hebrews 12:1,2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, LOOKING UNTO JESUS THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF FAITH; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

    NUM. CH. 23

Balak must have acknowledged that YHWH had the authority in this situation, even above himself.

Balaam's parable was that God cannot lie, for He is not a man, a created being, and He never sins, like all humans. Vs. 19 goes on to say that Balaam says that God is true to His word. Whatever He has spoken, He will do it.

Vs. 20-21 Balaam tells Balak that he has received a commandment from God to bless Israel, and He hath blessed Israel. This blessing cannot be reversed. God does not hold Jacob's sin against him because He has given Israel the means to have their sins forgiven and that the LORD is with Israel, bot against him. Balaam also says that the shout of a king is among them. I think that this is prophetic, concerning the Messiah King to come (Jesus Christ) who will bring salvation and forgiveness to Israel.

Balaam attests to the fact that it was the LORD who brought the Israelites out of Egypt, saying that he has the strength of an unicorn. Is Balaam speaking of Israel having this strength or the LORD?

Vs, 23 Israel does not possess any of these blessings through enchantment or from divination. but all has been wrought by YHWH and this is what will be proclaimed about the Jacob/Israel.

Balaam then goes on to say that Israel will drink the blood of the slain like a lion. This does not mean that the Israelites will actually drink blood as they are prohibited in the Law from doing so. It is just saying that, like a lion, Israel will totally destroy the enemies.

Balak tells Balaam to either curse Israel nor not bless them at all. Balaam answers, reminding Balak that he told Balak that he must only say all that the LORD tells him to speak concerning Israel.

So Balak again, takes Balaam to another mountain top, Peor. Balaam again says to build seven altars to sacrifice seven bulls and seven rams. Balak thinks that perhaps this time. YHWH will allow Balaam to curse Israel. So now this is the fourth mountain (high place of Baal). cont. pt. 4
  • GiGi on Numbers 23 - 1 year ago
    NUM. 23

Oops I meant to say that Balaam went to a place to be alone.

YHWH put in Balaam's mouth the words He willed for Balaam to speak. And then Balaam left to see Balak. Whether God spoke the words He wanted Balaam to say or if He placed them in Balaam's mind, we just don't know.

When Balaam came before Balak and the princes of Moab, he spoke the words that God put in him. He used his office as a prophet of YHWH to pronounce a blessing upon Israel.

"How can I curse, whom God has not cursed? or defile those God has not defiled?

Vs. 9 is a bit confusing: "From the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations."

Is Balaam speaking of the LORD as to whom he sees or the Israel? The rest of the verse is definitely about Israel. As God's chosen people, Israel will be set apart as "holy unto the LORD" and not mingle with the other nations of the land promised to them.

Vs. 10 Balaam hopes to die a righteous death like Jacob did. In this verse, Balaam definitely desires to have the favor of God as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob did, so he must have had knowledge of them and their faith and that it was counted to them as righteousness.

Balak questions why Balaam did not curse Israel. Balaam's reply was that he must take heed of and speak what the LORD had put in him to speak.

So Balak takes Balaam to another mountain, a high place of Baal, so that Balaam can see the encampment of Israel, most of it except the utmost part of it. So some of the people were out of the sight of the place where they went, Mt. Pisgah. Again, seven altars are built and seven bulls and seven rams are sacrificed there. Again Balaam tells Balak to stay by the sacrifice as he goes off to meet the LORD off yonder. And again the LORD meets Balaam and gives him the words he is to say to Balak. Balak asks:

What has the LORD spoken?" So, it seems that Balak acknowledges the God of Balaam. cont. Pt 3

    Hi Chris,

Regarding the subject: "Our Addiction to Sin"

You state: "Do you really think that you will reach that perfection in this life? " Chris, I have faith in God that He would not tell us to do something that we can't do. John 5:14 John 8:11 Nothing is impossible for God! He can change us in the twinkling of an eye! If this is our goal he can help us accomplish it, but it requires Faith and never giving up!

You state: "And what happens in the meantime, when what he believes is possible, actually is impossible - sin ever revealing itself without abating? " I would answer by saying that if you think that it's impossible, and you CAN'T do it, then it will probably never happen for you, until you exchange Can't do - for Can do. Also speaking for myself, for me to say it can't happen is to call God a liar, because he tells us we can James 4:7-10 So, it must be something we are doing, or not doing.

You state: "You may have a different take on this, but I see that as with Paul, so also with us, the struggle with sin will never cease." I agree that Paul struggled against sin during his life, as all of us do, and Paul also states Romans 6:6-7 God tells us he will give us no temptation/sin that we can't overcome 1 Corinthians 10:13

A ever increasing thought: One major obstacle in our lives that may be keeping us from achieving the perfect relationship with God is our death grip hold to this worldly life we enjoy.

    See page 2
  • Bro dan - 1 year ago
    Chris, Page 2

    2 Corinthians 5:15

"And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again."

Are we living unto ourselves by wanting to enjoy this worldly life and all those things associated with it? As of late, I'm beginning to believe that this is a very big obstacle preventing us (Christians) from achieving the perfect union with Him/God.

I've thought like other Christians for years that we could live a enjoyable life on this earth and walk with God at the same time. The more I read and believe the scriptures I am beginning to believe I am wrong. God is telling us he want's us completely.

Letting go of this fleshy world is a big hurdle, maybe too big for most of us. Hence, our need to find a compromise in our minds to mold/reinterpret the scripture to achieve a message that will accommodate us hanging on to our enjoyable worldly lives. Are we fooling ourselves?

Could this be a large part of why we haven't be able to achieve our perfect walk with God and become sin free? The overriding Bible message is we can't have the world and God - it's one or the other.

    Children and prayer

I have probably stated this before; but I believe that children need a vision for their own generation. There are individuals I have met that stand out in that regard; so there is hope. I am in a unique disadvantage being an only child; in a non believing family.

I ASSUME that those who come to church that I know spend some time in prayer with their children. I am a bit mystified why locally at least there aren't any teenagers in youth groups; part of it is the demographics of my particular church. Sadly prayer for that subject seems to be lacking as well. This is why those who are saved need to have communication with older adults who are discipling them; and older adults should understand what they are going through in our suicidal; drug filled and occult type of society. There is one member who has some ideas such as bringing in interns from Bible colleges and youth ministers from the local area (as our church doesn't have one at present).

In this society of rebellion even the thought of a child or teenager engaged in spiritual warfare for their parents seems to be as foreign as a trip to Antarctica. I would guess that the work ethic as it stands now and the tidal wave of worldly entertainment and distractions is a major hinderance. The one school in Texas who eliminated cell phones magically reported that everyone is learning better; hard to believe they didn't figure that out sooner; let's hope it spreads....

if the kids press enough for prayer (at least outside school teaching hours); and studying scriptures or discussing the Word in classes where a pertinent subject matter develops I believe things can change. The powers that be love to dictate what mantra and indoctrination kids should and want to hear; and if kids passively take it it will be assumed they have no incentive to change things. Will they lock up our kids for these things? If such children can excel academically perhaps it cannot be ignored.

    Hi Giannis,

    Our Addiction to Sin.

I your last post/reply to me you did not answer the question that I posed to you: Who would want to convince Christian's that they can continue to sin - and still walk with God?

The answer is the same entity that told Adam and Eve that they could sin - and would still be acceptable to God. Satan. That didn't end well for Adam and Eve. It will not end well for us either. So, Satan continues to this day, and he has not changed his methods of operation. He has infiltrated all of society, he is in our homes, schools, churches and in the minds of Christians. He has convinced many Christians that - we CANNOT STOP SINNING! In your last post to me you stated: "Because we still have a sinful nature and we CANNOT overcome sin." God tells us to STOP SINNING! The devil tells us we Can't STOP SINNING! When we accepted Christ and went through the process of being Born Again, we made a commitment to God that we would repent. If we continue to SIN we are not repenting.

I love you brother, and I want to share some thoughts with you to help you break the addiction to sin. First, you need to get Can't and CANNOT out of your vocabulary. Stop using this word! You can never accomplish any goal in this life - if you feel/believe that you Can't! If you believe you can't stop smoking, if you believe you can't stop drinking alcohol, if you believe you can't stop doing drugs, if you believe you can't stop abusing your wife, if you believe you can't stop overeating, if you believe you can't control your temper, this can go on and on and on, you understand this. You will never accomplish anything that you feel that you CAN'T! By using this word you have "defeated yourself" before you even get started! Throw that word away and learn to hate that word! See page 2

On the other hand, you also say that Christ was crucified and died. So, you know that the one responsible for killing people is the angel of Death. Now you are saying that Christ is God, so if Christ died, who took his soul? The angel of Death? Does that mean the angel of Death is more powerful than God? So, according to your understanding, the angel of Death is more powerful than God. Don't you think about this?"
  • Moha4med on Mark 13 - 1 year ago
"Friends, I urge you to be rational, fair, and logical. We all know that the definition of God is that He is all-knowing and knows everything, past, present, and future. Well, here the Messiah says that he doesn't know the Hour, which makes him a normal creature and not God. If he truly were God, he would know the timing of the Hour and his return, but he said that he doesn't know. So, we have two possibilities here: either he knows everything or he is not all-knowing, and you can't combine both because that would be a contradiction. If he doesn't know the timing of the Hour, then he is not all-knowing and incomplete, so he is not God because God is all-knowing. Secondly, if he knows the timing of the Hour and lied when he said he doesn't know, then he is also not God because God does not lie, He is truthful.

Someone might come and say that he didn't know the Hour in his human nature when he descended and that he chose that. Well, my friend, you are saying that before he descended, he was God and knew everything, and when he descended, he became incarnate in a human body, but he is still God and human at the same time, and this is a contradiction because human nature is ignorant, while divine nature encompasses everything. So, if Christ knows everything and at the same time does not know everything, this is ignorance and contradiction in the book. Moreover, Christ is not self-existent because he relies on others, and this makes him not God because God is self-existent and does not rely on others. From the perspective of Christ, he relied on his mother Mary's milk, and this is a great contradiction: to worship a child who drinks milk and claim that he is God. If he is God and has the ability to do everything, why doesn't he produce milk by himself?
