When preachers teach on the subject of the Great Tribulation & of end times, they will touch on some or all of these associated chapters in the Book of Revelation. Maybe some preachers believe that Christians will not be around to experience this horrendous time on Earth, so there's little point in making a major study of it. I would be interested to know which cults you refer to that "dapple with it"? And what points do they make from it? Revelation has a lot of imagery, as revealed to the apostle John. He reported what he saw by vision/dream from the angel; he probably had limited understanding of some things, but he recorded what God wanted us to know.

Bruce, I do appreciate your point about finding patterns where none exist but I think you dismiss this one too quickly. Shakespeare was a known writer at the time and it is possible he had something to do with the KJV translation of the bible. Perhaps this is his version of an "Easter Egg"? Yes, people try to make random correlations meaningful but that doesn't mean some correlations aren't actually revealing something interesting. I think one needs to look at the degrees of freedom needed for the explanation and context of the "coincidence" to separate random from intention. I suggest the King James Bible on CD with Alexander Scourby as the narrator as he has a great voice. It can be had for the new testament only for about 25 dollars delivered. In Hebrews 10.29, the writer anticipates a "much sorer punishment." Some throughout history have interpreted this as a loss of salvation and an eternity in hell (lake of fire). Is this accurate? If so, how do we reconcile this with verses dealing with security? If not, what does the passage teach?

Man may have had a soul before but with the breath of life, he became a living soul. So what would the soul be? It must be something in all animals but man must have one that is living; and so it seems to be what ever the difference is between animals and men or I could probably say between animals and people. God is not destroying people's lives. One of satans other names is: DESTROYER. And he is the ACCUSER of the brethern. Revelation 12:10, Job 1:6,12 and Zechariah 3:1

Part of our problem is that we do not trust God. We think he does all the painful things. Like why is he allowing satan to get near us? Hear that accusatory question? Or, why doesn't Jesus just heal everybody? Why does bad things happen to good people?
There is the WILL of God. God gave free will to mankind in the garden of Eden. Satan has a will too. He's not going to do anything good with it. Read Job 1. He's defeated. Intercede for loved ones.

This is an often asked question. I then ask:why did God allow bad things to happen to His Son Jesus Christ? And we know that Jesus faced people's anger, hatred, hunger, temptation, misunderstandings, beatings, thorns, spearing and death. If God allowed His only begotten Son to suffer so much, when He did no wrong & without any sin, should we be surprised that we, as good as some might try to be, also suffer? We are all born sinners, even the slightest wrong-doing makes us such. But Jesus did no wrong, even when under severe testing by Satan - yet He suffered. So, the answer is that we all suffer because we are sinners, but now as Christians, we are given His Grace to live above the pain.

To Guillermo: I'm gonna redirect on that. I believe that world economies are going to tank on corona virus as we have already seen. The only problem is that the scripture says pestilence in plural: pestilences. We need to be drawing real close to Jesus now. "My sheep hear MY voice". Be careful what you listen to.
