  • A disciple on Malachi 1 - 8 years ago
"..if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil?" Like the man who WILL NOT go to the door and enter the right way but tries to sneak in some other way; the man who doesn't come to God through Jesus with a good and honest heart by giving account of himself as God sees him and thoroughly repents and is converted; he will be rejected as evil.
  • A disciple on Luke 6 - 8 years ago
"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good..." So, according to the Lord Jesus Christ, there are good men with good hearts! If when we come to the Lord in true repentance, and turn our lives around to follow Him and be good what man is it that says there's no such thing? or that all of us have desperately wicked and deceitful hearts? Speak for yourself! If the shoe fits, wear it! But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, with a true heart in faith and love without hypocrisy. Either be good and your fruit good or be rotten with your bad fruits: for the tree IS KNOWN by its fruits!
  • A disciple on Malachi 1 - 8 years ago
"And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil?" In Matthew 23, the Lord Jesus publicly rebukes the stupidity and hypocrisy of Judaism, and thereby every man-made form of religion used instead of walking with God in truth in His Spirit in the Name of JESUS. Jesus heals the blind the lame and the sick if they will come to Him for healing.
  • A disciple on Psalms 26 - 8 years ago
Bill; We are given grace to not sin because God sees our integrity. Many know, and many believe, but when it comes to the moment of fiery trial or strong passions pulling us in a bad direction against the commandment; it is the courage and integrity to stand against your own feelings and desires that will save us. How many times did Jesus say, Thy faith hath saved thee and made thee whole?
  • A disciple on Revelation 16 - 8 years ago
Alex; Sentimental and wishful thinking is not how we understand and seek the things of God. Remember Peter's well wishing toward Jesus, and how he thought the talk about going to the cross was something to be rejected, like it was just "negative thinking?"The cross was the only way to save us from sin; so too it is only by utter destruction of fire that the wicked and all cause of sin be removed.
  • A disciple on 1 Corinthians 15 - 8 years ago
"O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" The greatest Word which the Lord Jesus has said to us, is the one most often having the least thought about and attention given and that is of ETERNAL LIFE! We may at times over our lives have "moments" of clarity, or fleeting glimpses of eternal reality for this whole existence is shrouded in vanity and vexation of spirit but there is a day coming to each and every one of us when we die, and will be awoken from this dream state! We want to be healthy and strong in this life, and not always be hunted by troubles and threats from the devil but how much can we really expect from such a ruin and alienated from God world, even if we had no adversity? This world and our present existence in it is decaying, and must at one point be taken away for ever for this is NOT God's final and glorious plan for man, in this world as it is! But we have a Word from the Son of God Himself, that we are not of this world, but have been chosen and called from out of it, and that we belong to God, and He has given us Jesus, to be with Him in glory and live for ever.
  • Crowned on Psalms 3 - 8 years ago
We are in the vast minority of the world.
We will have many come at us for our
faith in the Lord Jesus. Jesus said we
are not above Him. If He was persecuted,
so will his followers. When we go through
sore trails, people led by the spirit of this world,
scoff, these say to us, 'Aha, where is
their God now? We stay steadfast in faith
and the belief in the Love Jesus gave to us.
  • Wayne on Matthew 17 - 8 years ago
If it weren't for the Holy, Wonderful, Saving Son of God, where would all of us be? Who else is qualified to be beaten and spit on and rejected. Who else would give up everything, in Heaven, to die for us lowlife sinners? To make us children of God and qualify us to live in Paradise, in the Kingdom of God, FOREVER? Eyes off the world and directed fully, only, on the Lamb of God. Praise His Name!
  • Heather Dillard on Genesis 1 - 8 years ago
I have a question on how to highlight things in the bible?'
  • Tom on Matthew 17 - 8 years ago
Inverses 24-26 is Jesus saying we don't have to pay taxes? What about the verse of giving Ceasar what is Ceasars? I'm confused
  • A disciple on James 2 - 8 years ago
servant; I think what you're trying to say, Faith calls those things that be not, as though they are; and our manner of life, character and behavior, makes manifest what kind we are. Did I get that right? And yes, I agree, some things are known in part and manifest just now; but only when we are brought before God at the last day shall we know perfectly all things about ourselves and everyone.
  • Victoria on 1 John 4 - 8 years ago
1 John 4 vs 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
  • A disciple on Psalms 22 - 8 years ago
The reason Jesus rebuked James and John, was because THEY didn't know what Spirit they were of; because He didn't come to destroy men's lives but save them. That does not however put any fault on Elijah; for how could a mere man call down fire to consume the wicked, or the sacrifice? And when Enoch and Elijah come to preach, they will have power to call down fire and every plague upon the wicked!
  • Baby Beth - 8 years ago
read on to verse three and four it makes alot more since when you read there.
3The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

4 Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.
  • MRP - 8 years ago

THE LORD'S PRAYER : Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil - Put us not to the trial/test but give us mercy and deliverance . Will virgins find sanctuary ?
  • Cristivaldo on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
Who do you say Jesus is?

The Son of God? Yes, that was what the Holy Spirit revealed to Peter.

What about the Holy Spirit! Who do you say He is?

Well, here in Matthew 1:18 is very clear.

It says Jesus is the child of the Holy Spirit. Wait, Jesus is the Son of the Holy Spirit? Well, not only verse 18 days but 20 too.

Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God! (God Himself, remember God is a spirit?)
  • Cari on Exodus 22 - 8 years ago
why is it that we still obey such commandments as thou shalt not kill but then "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." I'm being asked this question. Can you help me on this?
  • Mark verrell on Obadiah 1 - 8 years ago
I am confused in the 1st verse of Obadiah" we have heard a rumor from the.LORD " I don't understand the LORD DOES NOT SPEAK IN RUMORS WHAT DOES THIS MEAN ARE THEY CONFUSED AND NOT SURE OF WHAT THE LORD IS SAYING??
  • A disciple on Zechariah 7 - 8 years ago
"Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: and oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart." To those who tell you that you sin every day, WHICH COMMANDMENT is it exactly, that you can't help but break? Murder? Adultery? Lying? Serving idols? Who is the accuser?
  • A disciple on John 8 - 8 years ago
(continuing) "When we come to Jesus in the first place; isn't it because we are scared and ashamed because of our sins, and we are looking for Jesus to rescue us from ourselves?" Here then we have to ask, How did you come to Jesus? What did you pray? or rather, How were you led to pray? Words DO matter! The very popular, but UNSCRIPTURAL, "Accepting Jesus into your heart" IS NOT REPENTANCE!
  • Servant of God on Hebrews 1 - 8 years ago
For the love of God, Jesus for his love of righteousness and hatred of iniquity found favor with God. If Jesus purged your sins, why are you still full of iniquity? God has always sent his elect to deal with an untoward people, to enlighten them, not to hand them the keys to heaven. You must earn it! Jesus sits where he sits as the 12 heads of the tribes of Israel praise God continually. Rev.
  • Andrea McCallum on Matthew 15 - 8 years ago
    To Bruce.
Are you saying pork shrimp, lobsters etc are allowed as long as God's word is prayed over them?
  • A disciple - 8 years ago
"Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word." When we come to Jesus in the first place; isn't it because we are scared and ashamed because of our sins, and we are looking for Jesus to rescue us from ourselves? What then changes once we just begin to learn the Scriptures, that we all of a sudden CAN'T BE TOLD ANYTHING? A lying spirit, and sneaking self-love and pride!
  • Servant of God on Hebrews 13 - 8 years ago
Irene, you have no cause to judge which sacrifice is just before God. At least their sacrifice is tangible. The Chistian may or may not offer anything. At any rate, God is a heart knower and is aware of what your offering is. You think your salvation is secure and you are forgiven just because of faith, that your belief is enough? You had better read the OT as well! Get the whole truth! Yes?
  • Eugene on 1 Corinthians 4 - 8 years ago
I'm trying to read KJV. Really strange words 'the filth of the world' are worth thinking about. We, "the best of the world" can be 'the filth', or, thinking about ourselves too high can't see anything, that we are loved, and only look and ask for 'carnal'.? Funny. Let's look for meekness withourt spirit - and we will find arrogance, How to understand and interiorate these words. Thank you.
  • Charlie Chester Zeigler - 8 years ago
Ask this question to someone else today. After Jesus Christ has given us the way to heaven,When Jesus Christ returns how do you think that he's going to be to us after all his sacrifice and the love he's shown unto the world?
  • A disciple on Hebrews 12 - 8 years ago
"Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin." When Paul wrote this Epistle to the Hebrew Believers; he very much had to address the indolence and apostasy that they had succumbed to, and took great pains to thoroughly convict them by expounding the deep things of the Scriptures. While most are so uncircumcised in heart to endure any correction, how can they expect victory over sin?
  • James on Romans 10 - 8 years ago
Romans 11:33-36 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
  • A disciple on Ezekiel 22 - 8 years ago
Alex; "ITS SOMETHING HE HAS DONE AT CALVARY BY HIS BLOOD" unto what? I've said it so many times before, and will say it one more time: Unto what are we even being saved, if not to show forth the good works and GLORIFY OUR FATHER? THESE ARE THE WORDS which He spoke through His Prophets from the beginning of the world, and the grace wrought in us!
  • Jeff Berry on Genesis 1 - 8 years ago
M.King, please expound using Scripture to support your belief. Also, why is it important to you to believe what you have stated? Blessings!
