  • A disciple on Luke 13 - 8 years ago
"Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbers it the ground?" We were not born into this world for ourselves to idly "cumber the ground" that we occupy. We are made by God and for God and God has provided all things for us to live and be saved. If we don't produce good fruit we are worthless!
  • Cheryl on Ephesians 6 - 8 years ago
    verse 12 explain?
  • Staci Joe on Psalms 54 - 8 years ago

Mark (lastly); In any case the Lord was always kind and a friend to His friends and we should follow His example in every aspect of our dealing with each other. Maybe it wasn't light enough yet that Jesus wasn't immediately recognized? Maybe too Peter and the others were just like they had been up all night fishing and a little dull? There's a lot of reasons why people don't know that "Its Jesus!"
  • A disciple on John 21 - 8 years ago
Mark; "just what is going on here? About knowing and not knowing???" That's a keen observation; and something hardly anyone seems to consider! But the matter of how and to whom the Lord reveals Himself; (even while He's standing right in front of them!); speaks to 'how' and 'to whom' He finds us when He comes. Ordinary circumstances should not be despised; and we should KNOW that "It is the Lord."
  • A disciple on Mark 8 - 8 years ago
"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (cont.) Keeping in the context of the Lord's teaching here; what is profitable for us is to save our souls through God's mercy and grace, and not have false beliefs concerning this life's worth. This world IS NOT God's final and very good plan for us for eternity; and its real condition is seen by the cross.
  • A disciple on Ephesians 2 - 8 years ago
"..in time past ye walked according to the course of this world..in times past in the lusts of our flesh..in time past Gentiles in the flesh..Wherefore remember..That at that time ye were without Christ.." To anyone who says to you, that we sin every day, and we can't help but sin; say, Unto what then is the Name of Jesus to us? and how can we be Saved from our sins, but still in our sins?
  • Melody williams on Isaiah 1 - 8 years ago
My bible study is doing Isaiah, we answer questions, and I have a question? what does it mean to reason with God?
  • Peter A. Okebukola on Psalms 24 - 8 years ago
In Psalm 24, we are reminded of the attributes that can make us see God- "Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully."
  • Randy on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
Emanuel: So you are saying that we are "godly" sinners? That we are "sinful" saints? Sure seems to me that if we are still yet sinners, SIN STILL HAS DOMINANCE! The Scripture says "while we WERE YET SINNERS, Christ died for us!" The Bible says "whosoever is born of God cannot sin"!!! Make no provision for the flesh. The flesh profiteth nothing! FREE FROM SIN! Look FOR it, not AGINST it. Lord Bless
  • Manuelf324 on Revelation 2 - 8 years ago
a good indication your backsliding or even saved is if your honest with yourself. IM I HERE ON EARTH TO PLEASE GOD OR MAN?
  • A disciple on Mark 8 - 8 years ago
"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" Even while reading the part where Jesus said this, the tendency of many of us is to isolate this sentence and let it just mean "generally" as if our biggest worry should be wanting to be a billionaire!
  • A disciple on Mark 8 - 8 years ago
"And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation." We are in the time of "Many False Prophets" and "Many Who Will Come in [JESUS'] Name And Will Deceive Many." And they find an audience! As much as it makes us mad knowing about them God is proving the people if they will obey or not.
  • Mark verrell on John 21 - 8 years ago
" the disciples didn't know that it was JESUS"" yet the disciple that Jesus loved told Simon Peter that it was the LORD" THEN THE DISCIPLES CAME TO SHORE AND DID NOT QUESTION HIM BECAUSE THEY KNEW IT WAS THE LORD"
just what is going on here? About knowing and not knowing???
  • A disciple on Job 32 - 8 years ago
Hi Anne; I wondered for some time about who was this Elihu. And I have to put him among the others who arrogantly misjudged and falsely accused Job; and he wasn't anywhere as bright as his love of self and youthful pride purported. And what was the LORD's answer out of the whirlwind about the presumptuous speech? "Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?"
  • A disciple on Revelation 2 - 8 years ago
Anna (cont.); In the case of the Ephesians, it was apparently not love of the world or the things of the world that drew their hearts away; but maybe it was all the things that the Lord had blessed them with in their great victory and success and being without fault as to their religion? Daniel was also found perfect in everything pertaining to God; but he maintained the sacred inner life of love.
  • Anna on Revelation 2 - 8 years ago
A disciple: "How could their hearts have grown cold towards Jesus?" We can stop to study ourselves. The love of this world does this doesn't it. But what does that mean? How can we study ourselves in this matter? We must be awakened to this sin. We often seek thanks and awe from the world, we seek monetary and material riches, pride, garment ourselves in latest fashions and jewels.....
  • Rockpicker John on Genesis 19 - 8 years ago
Lot was prepared to give his own children to be raped. A good man then? I think not. Read Ezekiel on the sin of Sodom.
  • Mack on Psalms 78 - 8 years ago
    I have a question please...

    What does God consider marriage?
  • Chasity Gaines on Ecclesiasticus 20 - 8 years ago
Why in my 1611 king James does NONE of my ecc book match or even have all the chapters?
  • A disciple on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
Dear Jeffrey; We DON'T take our new course in life in Christ following the world! "Blessed is the man who WALKS NOT in the counsel of the ungodly, NOR STANDS in the way of sinners, NOR SITS in the seat of the scornful; BUT HIS DELIGHT IS IN THE LAW OF THE LORD, AND IN HIS LAW DOES HE MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT." We have to think in order to repent; so who doesn't want us to be able to think? Satan!
  • Jeffrey on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
    @ A disciple
    Proverbs 3:5
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding"

Not to say that we should completely forsake the use of our God-given intelligence to reason things out. But how can we possibly subject God to the same laws, beliefs and ways of thinking that have been instilled into our minds by this perverted society and expect to understand His ways ?
  • A disciple on Proverbs 14 - 8 years ago
"Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." If we can look so hard on our unsaved family members, neighbors and coworkers and demand that they are accountable to the Law of God, and His Judgments upon disobedience how do so many then not recognize the beam in their own eye, or the hypocrisy of calling themselves saved Christians, while they are clearly still bound in their sins? "And if we seek to be justified in Christ, we ourselves be found sinful men, whether Christ be minister of sin? God forbid." Galatians 2:17 Wycliffe Bible The LORD God our Saviour says, "Sin no more, that not a worse thing come upon you " yet some still strongly protest, saying, "We all sin every day we can't help but sin " and then misuse the Scriptures to cover their defeated lives. If one breaks a hedge, the serpent will bite! But that doesn't negate the truth of the Glad Tidings, that Christ sets us REALLY free only that that one has fallen into sin! But we have an Almighty and wonderfully merciful Saviour, who is able to save to the uttermost ALL who call upon Him. So if you're having a problem bring it to the Lord in repentance, and BE CONVERTED! that your sins may be blotted out and you shall receive forgiveness and all the fullness of His great and glorious Salvation Victory.
  • A disciple - 8 years ago
Chuck (cont.); So I want to ask again; because I think its really an important thing for us to understand: What do you think it means, "In the Name of Jesus?" It can be translated, "by the power of attorney," or, "as a Representative authorized by;" and of course, in all that, "By the Authority and Power of Jesus' Name, which is above every name, we are speaking and acting under His Holy Charge."
  • Brother Daniel FC on Colossians 2 - 8 years ago
Emanuel: The Schoolmaster mentioned in Gal. 3:24 refers to the Ceremonial Law; not the Ten Commandments. Why would Ap. Paul list 17 moral sins in Gal. 5:19-21, which would bar the entrance into God's Kingdom? After all, which of the Ten Commandments is OK to break? I know; you just like better the Day of the Sun instituted by man, than the Saturday Sabbath, instituted by God. See also Rom. 7:7
  • Jeffrey on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
Tracy Clem..I have come to learn, through what I believe to be divine inspiration from God, that we can't subject God or his works to the limited reasoning capabilities of our minds. I mean, we can't even remotely comprehend the fact that God has always just "been". Meaning that even our perception of time itself could all be a massive illusion. How can we even begin to trust our own logic ?
  • Faith alone is what saves !! - 8 years ago
The Devils greatest trick is work based salvation ! If the devil can convince anyone to ADD to the finished work of the cross he is aready deceiving you !
  • David on Joshua 24 - 8 years ago
Repent of your sins is found NO WHERE IN THE BIBLE !! But repent is ! A change of mind ! Moses stood in the Gap ; when God of Israel was goin to to destroy the people with His wrath ! But God repented of His wrath to destroy them ! Repent of your sins is a work ! The deception of the devil ! Oneness Pentecostalism is all about this formula ? Repent of your sins ? Be baptized in the name of Jesus ?
  • A disciple on 1 Chronicles 11 - 8 years ago
Ken; AMEN! Like our men and women in the Military? or Law Enforcement? or First Responders? As Jesus' Ambassadors of reconciliation WE are supposed to be on the top of this list! "Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." All these people who have signed up for Public Service are counting us as friends; but many [unfortunately] can't even think on this level.
  • A disciple on Romans 1 - 8 years ago
Randy; 20-25 tells how God is the Lord and Master over ALL the world. He creates and makes it after His own counsel and will, and judges men by it. Do you remember what Nebuchadnezzar said about God after he was converted? that He rules over the kingdoms of men, and sets up over them the basest of men? Men think that they make the world and their own destiny; but we can do NOTHING without Him!
