"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." After Noah entered the ark and the LORD shut him in; how many were afterwards saved? The morning that Lot went out of Sodom, and the LORD rained fire and burning sulphur from heaven and destroyed all; who remained to after be saved?
  • Peter A. Okebukola on Romans 8 - 8 years ago
Eternal truths- So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. If God be for us, who can be against us?
  • Elijah - 8 years ago
Disciple, Hebrews 1:14 "Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?" Now knowing all this, please answer my quandary. Why is the angel being warned of backsliding if it were not impossible for him to fail or fall, at or at least this seems to be the assumption.
  • Elijah on Revelation 3 - 8 years ago
Dewey, were in scripture do you find this interpretation? Jesus refers to the pastors or men of the churches as angels. Jesus is speaking by his faith which all Christians live by. It does not infer this in the scripture that you referenced. To the law and to the testimony Isa.8:20
  • Frank Velasco on Ephesians 1 - 8 years ago
Blessed us... genuine believers. Do we believe this, or we merely exist, behave and conduct ourselves so mediocrity as to be outside of His blessing? In our day and time, I am certain it's the latter, not the former.
  • A disciple on Revelation 12 - 8 years ago
DON"T BE A FOOL! How many self-seeking false prophets have to make a fool of themselves and everyone who listens to them, before the words of our Lord are believed and obeyed? "No man knows the day nor the hour when the Son of Man returns; only the Father! The vision and the sign describes the true state of the world, and the reason for what things tale place. IT'S NOT to decrypt some hocus pocus!
  • A disciple on Jeremiah 40 - 8 years ago
"The WORD that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah..." And so we read it like a story in the News; yet it is called, "The WORD that came to Jeremiah from the LORD." A word of knowledge? Yes, certainly! A word of Divine Authority over the affairs of men? That too! A word that searches us, and compels us to search and to discern?
  • A disciple on Psalms 15 - 8 years ago
"LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?" When the rich young man came to Jesus asking what he must do to have eternal life, the Lord told him, You know the commandments...do these and you shall live." Afterwards He spoke directly to the young man's innermost thoughts, and his covetousness. What part of these things David mentions, are too hard for us to live by?
  • A Pilgrim on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
The gift of God Does not come easy .It's "Doing his Word" rather than hoping to be saved. When I call someone "You Fool" in Anger,I am in danger of hell. How many time we "Think of" some one as You Fool?. How can one "Keep to the word of Christ".Than praising we need "training". Like Christ did, there is a training in solitude we can develop.
  • A disciple on 1 John 3 - 8 years ago
To Randy from 7/25, "What is sin?" Sin is literally, Missing the mark. Sin is knowing to do good, and not doing it. Sin is spiritual error, wandering away, deviation, disobedience, lying. Sin is moral error, foolishness, poor judgment, acting out or speaking (or thinking) so as to give a misleading representation of one's self or his actions; usually to make himself appear good and without blame.
  • A disciple on Matthew 13 - 8 years ago
Hi Grace; You asked, "What is the difference between kingdom of God and kingdom of heaven?" I think the difference is simply in the words themselves, and not different things. What I mean is, that the kingdom of God; let's say, as opposed to the kingdoms of men; and the kingdom of heaven, as that which is high above all that we know just now as of the earth and this world: it is the world to come!
  • A disciple - 8 years ago
Matt. 5:11 (cont.); Lastly, if we do wrong and suffer for it, and bear it patiently; WHAT IS THAT BUT PRIDE AND DISHONESTY? But what's at work against the Christian by the devil's seed is far deeper than our vain ideas about ourselves; and the more spiritual we are in our thinking, the clearer we discern the spirits; these things will be easier to understand, and not take away from our honesty.
  • Grace on Matthew 13 - 8 years ago
what is the difference between kingdom of God and kingdom of heaven?
  • A disciple on Psalms 11 - 8 years ago
"If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" Where does it say that Jesus commands us to pick up our weapons and fight? He never does! His commandment is to "Turn the other cheek!" Most everyone knows this and can cynically quote it, while they are actually murmuring and speaking evil of that person who injures or insults them. But for us it is our Constitution, and our Duty.
  • A disciple on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
Did anyone else notice, how between Jehoram and Uzziah there are three generations missing (omitted)? It was Jehoshaphat's fault for intermarrying his son with the house of Ahab, that they despised and forsook the LORD, and went after the sin and perversion of the enemies of God. We do not only affect ourselves, but everyone else whose life we touch, with how we live and who we choose for friends.
  • Marie on 2 Samuel 1 - 8 years ago
    Did saul go to hell?
  • MARQ - 8 years ago
{wine=sin}...Don't add to or take away from the Word, Amen!
...when Jesus drank from the cup, at the Passover super just before His death...and said this cup represents my blood that was shed for you...what do you assume was in that cup? Maybe Red Wine? The word doesn't say, but check Hebrew customs for kosher beverages at Passover supper and I'm sure we'll find our answer. Jesus Christ is Lord!!!
  • MARQ on Luke 7 - 8 years ago
Elizabeth, PLEASE show KJV-Only scripture that says, "Jesus never drank wine!" I'm 52 a pastors son who was taught it was a sin. I have never drank any form of alcoholic beverage or smoked anything (anti-drugs) Yet I can't preach it's a sin to drink, only a "Sin to be DRUNK" 2 different things. The very 1st miracle was water to WINE, would Jesus (you) make cocaine for others knowing it was a sin?
  • Patricia on Revelation 1 - 8 years ago
Wyestion: What are the seven spirits of God?
  • Peter A. Okebukola on Romans 9 - 8 years ago
Several key messages in this chapter- I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. It is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay make one vessel unto honour, another unto dishonour?
  • A disciple on 2 Chronicles 18 - 8 years ago
Peter; Jehoshaphat's story shines light on a part of certain weak character tendencies, and makes me grieved about how easily I fail in similar ways. Why did he do all that? And why did he never seem to learn, that the enemies of the Lord are not "as his people!" His lack of good judgment caused terrible disaster for generations after him; which almost put out the Light of the house of David.
  • A disciple on Jeremiah 45 - 8 years ago
"The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land; and seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest." The LORD wants us to be without care for the times.
  • Barbi on Psalms 1 - 8 years ago
Like it says in Psalms 1:1 b... nor sits in the seat of the scornful.
Not stitng full of scorn and what is better?
    Loving.
    Not being harsh.
Only remember Christ in You ,
    Colossians 1: 27 b
Christ in You, the hope of glory.
  • A disciple on Psalms 7 - 8 years ago
"God judges the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. If he turn not, he will whet (sharpen, incite, encourage) his sword; he has bent his bow, and made it ready." While we expect men to do what's right, how much more should we count on God; (who sees all things in their innermost parts, and nothing is hidden from Him, and He cannot be deceived); to know how to finish all things?
  • A disciple on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?" Why did we turn to Jesus for mercy and forgiveness and a chance at a new life starting over with Him? Because we were lost and guilty in sins and uncleanness; and He died on the cross for our sins; and if we didn't repent and really amend our ways; we would surely die unfit for the presence of God!
  • A disciple on Matthew 7 - 8 years ago
Ruth (cont.); Just wanted to say, that I agree with you! I don't mean to 'nit pick' (and I wasn't 'finding fault' with what you wrote at all!); but I wanted to emphasize that the idea of one having to belong to a Church and subject himself without thinking, Is this right? is misleading, and a potentially terrible dangerous snare. Birds of a feather flock together. People flock to those they like!
  • A disciple on Psalms 91 - 8 years ago
Joseph; Your post got me thinking about, "How do I 'Make' the LORD my dwelling? I always find so much when I learn what words mean, even most common ones. For example, in Collins English Dictionary, one definition (transitive verb) of "MAKE;" "If you MAKE someone something, you appoint them to a particular job, role, or position." So we by our faith and love Appoint God to the Role and Position!
  • Dean Kenyon on Matthew 5 - 8 years ago
We tend to attach a moral or emotional understanding to this verse based on the popular conception that 'heaven' is a blissful place we go after death. In the previous two chapters Jesus had just had the "heavens opened to him" after which he endured temptations and trials. From this point forward he heals the sick and raises the dead. Because he had just had authority given to him by the Father....the kingdom of heaven. Entering the Kingdom of heaven is to have authority. "Heaven is my throne..." From the throne, opened to Jesus when he "fulfilled all righteousness" Jesus was given the authority of a king with a throne. What he says must therefore be done. God does not give this authority to the rich in spirit who are self motivated and have their own agenda, but the poor in spirit who receive the promise, endure the trials and temptations and submit to the Father. Our inheritance is to have this same authority. Which type of heaven do you desire? A blissful place for you to live eternally, or an inheritance of authority to command sickness and death and bring righteousness and wholeness and the kingdom of God in the earth?
  • Kurt on 2 Corinthians 6 - 8 years ago
How can we bring the Gospel to sinners without sinning? Take another Christian and have an entry and exit plan. Arm yourself with the Truth (Jesus), and the Spirit. Allow God to work his love towards sinners thru us, yet remain safely separate in the Armour, lest we may fall. We are subject to our own whims, emotions, and personalities, yet we must keep the discipline of God's intentions within us
  • A disciple on Mark 9 - 8 years ago
Bruce; you said not too long ago, "No One comes to Christ until The Father Calls." Is there a time when God does not call; that men could excuse themselves for continuing in sins? Psalm 50:1 says, "The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof." All they who are of the truth will hear Jesus' voice, through the WORD preached!
