To Ralph (cont.); There are several parts in the Scriptures, where God seeks to destroy wicked people, because they are set in their wicked ways, and will not hear the word of God. Does He really love those kinds? Of course not! He that made the moral consciousness in man, made it after His own likeness; and God is angry every day because of what all is being done by men, but He restrains Himself.
  • A disciple on Psalms 5 - 8 years ago
Hi RALPH268; This is a difficult thing for a lot of good people to understand. How can God love wicked people; murderers, pedophiles, etc.? He doesn't! But the Scriptures say, that God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his wicked ways, and from the violence in their hands, and do right and live. God made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.
  • A disciple on Daniel 1 - 8 years ago
Edna; the story of Daniel the Prophet is amazing and wonderful! Did you realize, that Daniel and Ezekiel were both carried away with the captivity? When we read how great things God gave to them to do and to write; (while under subjection to the heathen!); it should give us all strength in understanding our own times, and how we can serve the Lord powerfully despite humiliating life circumstances.
  • A disciple on Ephesians 1 - 8 years ago
Tom; I'm curious which English exactly are you referring to? Is it any of those who so loved the Lord Jesus and the Scriptures, that they were mercilessly persecuted, and of the most beautiful and righteous people who were ever born English that were burnt alive for their true holiness and constancy? Is that who you are slandering and demeaning? Should we listen more to your words than theirs?
  • A disciple on 1 Corinthians 1 - 8 years ago
Ray321; AMEN Brother! How can we get saved without the word of God? How can we continue in His grace without the word of God? Isaiah 8:20 literally translated, says, "To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no *light (i.e. a dawning; as one up early to a task; URGENCY!) in them." If there's no burning hunger for God's word there's darkness!
  • A disciple on Psalms 22 - 8 years ago
Mr. Diffin; If you really want someone to answer you honestly, don't you first have to have a mind willing to hear the truth? If you've already (or still) opened a door for the devil's thoughts, and lying to yourself as if they are anything but worthless; then I would suggest that you carefully consider how else you are going to be able to stand before God at the last day, if not through His Son.
  • A disciple on Ephesians 1 - 8 years ago
"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:" Don't you want to grow in grace, and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ? If Jesus said that the only way we will be saved, is by doing all these His words; who are you to say we don't have to know them? Hebrews 5:11-14 explains very well what I'm talking about: being unskilled in the Word makes you unusable.
  • Ray321 on 1 Corinthians 1 - 8 years ago
For the wages of sin is death. That means we are going to face death because of sin on our flesh. Paul had the same problem we are facing, our flesh produce sin. Roman 8:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? By reading the Word and praying to the Father, we can be cleanse from this corrupt body, which is the flesh. Amen
  • A disciple on Jeremiah 1 - 8 years ago
If in the calling of Jeremiah, we all see our own calling in Christ; it is because of the Divine Calling of the LORD's Anointed the Saviour, the great Antitype of all Prophets and Saints. The things told to Jeremiah, we can and should apply to ourselves; for why else were they written? And they have all their fulfillment in the Lord Jesus Christ! As we study these words, pray them in and believe!
  • Jeff Berry on Genesis 1 - 8 years ago
Israel M McCall, interesting line of thought but God created light before He separated the light from the darkness. Right (vv 3-4)?
  • A disciple on Malachi 1 - 8 years ago
"And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil?" How is it that so many fancy themselves saved Christians, yet have no idea or care about God's absolute hatred and intolerance of sin and uncleanness? And if any rebuke the sin and protest to them out of the Scriptures, they cry out in self defense, You're full of pride! You're so mean!
  • A disciple - 8 years ago
How can anyone honestly think, that God loves wicked, murderers, rapists, or pedophiles? How do some imagine, that God is not deeply revolted and completely disgusted, at the perversion and violence and lawlessness that is filling the world? while the vast multitudes of pretending Christians, can only concern themselves with themselves, and their fleshy lusts and covetousness; and nothing for God!
  • A disciple on John 3 - 8 years ago
God loves everyone? What about Psalms 11:5? "The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth." And Malachi 1:2-4; "..I loved Jacob, and I hated Esau.." God first loved us, and sent His only begotten Son into the world to die for us to save us from our sins. He is good, kind, and patient, even toward His enemies; but for His love they are His adversaries.
  • Bruce on Ephesians 1 - 8 years ago
Where does it say, you have to be a Bible Scholar or well versed in The Bible to be Saved? / By The Foolishness of Preaching,by Those who are Born-again Preaching to Others The Good News, without Knowing One Word of The Bible,The Lost can ask Forgiveness. The Thief on The Cross Only Knew to say: Remember me---
  • A disciple on 1 Corinthians 1 - 8 years ago
Ray321 (cont.); How many times do we read where the Lord answered His adversaries with, Have you not read? Have you not read so much as this? Have you NEVER READ..? Matthew wrote his Evangel in 37 AD; the same year as the Lord's death and resurrection. Most of the other Books were written about twenty to thirty years later. John's Books were written some sixty years later. They only used Old Test.
  • A disciple on 1 Corinthians 1 - 8 years ago
Ray321; When Nicodemus came to Jesus by night in John 3, the Lord spoke with him about being born from above, born of the water and of the Spirit, a life led by the Spirit, and how it was all on account of that He must be lifted up. When Nicodemus stood there feeling stupid, and asked, How can these things be? Jesus said, You are the teacher of Israel! and these things you know not? 2 Tim 3:16
  • Mark Diffin on Psalms 22 - 8 years ago
Steady on Mr Disciple, where is your Christian love? I am just asking for a little honesty here. I cannot understand why they translate as pierced when is simply does not mean that at all? It is deceiving. Also in Isaiah 53:5 : But he was wounded FOR our transgressions, he was bruised FOR our iniquities. The Hebrew does not say that. It says FROM in both. FOR implies in place of. FROM does not!
  • A disciple - 8 years ago
Ephesians 1 (cont.); If we want to know what the Scriptures mean; then we have to hunger for knowledge, pray for understanding, and take pains to study, study, study the Word of God! If we don't know the Word; how can we be able to discern judgment and fight the good fight of faith? How can we stand on the Word in resisting the world, the flesh and the devil; or be anything true and reliable?
  • A disciple on Ephesians 1 - 8 years ago
As we read this magnificent, Spirit-filled pronouncement of the Glad Tidings; where is the part where we only need to know that we're sinners, and we don't have to be a Bible Scholar? Its not there! Its a man-made watered down contemporary version of "another Jesus, and another Gospel." The full declaration here in Ephesians, as well as in 2 Peter, and MANY likewise Scriptures says otherwise!
  • Ray321 on 1 Corinthians 9 - 8 years ago
1 Corinthians 9:2 If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord. Paul apostleship was seal by Jesus Christ. This is prove that Paul was important to Jesus. We must wake up and read his epistles. Paul also work harder then the rest of the Apostles. Is Jesus speak to us thru Paul's writings? We have to read and find out.
  • April on 1 Samuel 15 - 8 years ago
To think of how much blood shed has been spilled upon these lands :(,it makes me wonder if the only way for it to be cleansed is through the lamb, who already shed his blood for us to have salvation, but it makes me wonder how this world could be cleansed else wise,so many generations have fought and killed for greed, resources and arrogance and rascisim..sigh, any thoughts on this matter?...........
  • A disciple on John 3 - 8 years ago
So then; what is it that makes one worthy of entering the kingdom of God, while many others will be rejected, disowned, and turned away to weeping and gnashing of teeth? What makes one man wise, and another man stupid; since both were hearers of the Word, and building a house they hoped would shelter them fro the coming storm? Its because of "DOING" WHAT THE LORD SAYS, that we are able to overcome!
  • Rev Franklin Miller on Psalms 55 - 8 years ago
As a minister, I've been asked many times if I pray an hour each day. My reply is, "I may not pray an hour a day, but there is not an hour in the day I do not pray." Praying is communication with our heavenly Father. He wants us to talk with Him and thank Him for the many blessings He has bestowed upon us. If you can't find a certain item, ask Him to open your eyes that you may see it. When you do, give Him thanks. This is having communion with Him. Keep His name on your lips throughout the day and He will hear you. Zephaniah 3:17 says "He rejoices over you with singing." How awesome is this?!!!!!!!
  • A disciple on Joshua 7 - 8 years ago
"..Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face? Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them.." The failures of God's people are often automatically put on the Lord for some imagined "Mystery" of His will, why He would let them fall. But see how God answers, and make no mistake; if we fall before our enemies, its because we have sinned!
  • A disciple on Genesis 2 - 8 years ago
On the other hand, however we may see through a glass darkly, and struggle sometimes with each other to all be sound and confirmed sure in our understanding; isn't it a most profitable exercise for us to talk of the things of the Lord? When one has a little knowledge, and can by the Lord's ability, convey that to his brethren, that's a good thing! We're all LEARNING to be meek and lowly of heart:)
  • A disciple on Titus 2 - 8 years ago
Insight; Again, Aren't you reading the Chapters all the way through? or the couple dozen other places where Jesus talks about Hell? The Angels shall go forth and sever the wicked from among the just, and gather them in "bundles to be burned;" that sounds like HURT to me! The bad are going to be thrown away into everlasting punishment wailing and gnashing of teeth. Do you think that won't hurt?
  • A disciple on Mark 9 - 8 years ago
Brother Bruce how right you are! You know in Romans 1:18-32; how the Spirit describes the disgusting moral ruin of those who will not have anything to do with knowing the Lord, or any truth? That so describes the unbelievably evil kind of people we see in the News every day here. I can remember when I was first saved, and started learning about the "end times;" its so worse than I ever imagined.
  • A disciple - 8 years ago
Mark 9:38 (cont.); What does the Lord Jesus say about the many divisions and separations, when His commandment was explicitly, Love one another as I have loved you; and, One is your Master, Christ; and ALL YOU ARE BRETHREN? Here's a clue: If your eye or hand or foot cause you to sin; (i.e. to offend one of these little ones); better to enter life one-eyed, maimed or halt than be cast into Gehenna!
  • A disciple on Mark 9 - 8 years ago
"..Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he follows not us: and we forbade him, because he follows not us. But Jesus said, Forbid him not.." Do you ever wonder where all those Church Denominations came from? or how that in the beginning they were without questioning, all of one accord, and one mind, and one heart knit together? How is the Lord going to answer this when He comes?
  • Insight777 on Acts 1 - 8 years ago
V7-8, Jesus does not say yes, I will restore the kingdom to Israel. The kingdom of Israel is not mentioned in his reply. The gospel of Jesus will be preached to the uttermost parts of earth.
The gospel is for gentiles not just Jews. It is not a kingdom just for Israel. Jesus rejected the Jewish religion before the Jewish religion rejected him. Will Israel ever be known as a Christian nation? NU?
