  • Bruce on Acts 5 - 8 years ago
Irene: Amen! The power in The songs of Old. Lifting up Our Savior, there would be Testimony after Testimony. Sometimes that would be for the whole service. Oh what a Savior! The Church I was at,refuses to sing the old hymns. The Pastor said the new songs are just as good---? Just to hear, The Old,Old Story of Jesus and His Love.
  • Irene123 - 8 years ago
Fonz - and no, there will be no death there; I think it's Isa (Jerimiah?) that says, and there will be nothing to hurt in all y holy mountain ...; that's just my words, not an exact quote. Death hurts so there will be no death.
  • Lu2677 on Jeremiah 19 - 8 years ago
I.123Jeremiah19:9,I answered yours, please answer mine. Can you say that what God did in this verse shows that he hated them? Can you say all the destruction that God will bring to all the sinners when it's all over and this earth is destroyed is because He hates them? A simple yes or no is all I'm asking for.More verse to prove I'm wrong only proves you do not believe God. And He is listening. Amen
  • Lu2677 on Psalms 76 - 8 years ago
Hi Bruce, Psalms 76:7; the context of this verse is; fear of His wrath. Don't take my word for it, even thou I have given you his.Question is; can you take his Word for it? Might be a big day in your life if he shows mercy and you do take his word for it. Psalms33:8,Ecc.3:14,Romans3:18,Matthew10:28,Job23:13-16,Job25:1-2,James4:12. Typical for people to believe the lie."Don't be afraid of him"
  • Martha S on Judges 11 - 8 years ago
This story has long puzzled me but pondering again has helped. It appears Jepthah made his vow with the help of the Holy Spirit. KJ margin says "or I will offer it up for a burnt offering." Could it be that a favorite animal would have rushed to meet him as well? Sacrificing children was an abomination so she likely became fully dedicated to the Lord, as true ministers still do, as Jesus sent his.
  • Bruce on Acts 5 - 8 years ago
Jason: in the Greek it says stake or cross. The statement you're making came from a believer turned Atheists. Trying to destroy The Church. He to said he's a historian. Stake, plank, tree: makes no difference,He was lifted up,He paid for Our sins. What about yours? Only by The Blood of The Lamb is there Salvation! At The Cross,at The Cross when I first saw The Light. The Lord Died on a Cross for me!
  • Irene123 on Psalms 5 - 8 years ago
LU2677 - I'm just curious, absolutely not judging; I'm just very simply and openly - asking a question: how do you equate God hating sinners, actually hating people, to Matt. 5:43-44 ..... ?
  • Irene123 on Psalms 5 - 8 years ago
    J. T. Forbes - Could you explain what you mean by - That His name Jesus is Jehovah God in us eternal .....?

To all that think God created people outside the garden. All things are possible with God,not denying it.If that was his plan why would he tell people to go forth and multiply? Why did he make provisions for husband and wife to procreate?People were living for several hundred years then, opportunity to have many children.Does he say he created others in the manner he formed Adam and Evein his word.
  • Lu2677 on John 14 - 8 years ago
Bruce, John 14:26.Be at peace.V.27"Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." Be courageous. Luke 12:4-5 Jesus warns us to Fear the Lord with terror, because he has power to cast us into the lake of fire that you preach.Could the "fearful" be someone that does not have the courage to tell others about Christ?Or have Christ like courage during times of testing;trials, temptations.?
  • Irene123 on Deuteronomy 11 - 8 years ago
Obedience to God's Word. It's so very simple. Nothing to 'think' about. The Word of God is so very plain. Acts 2:37 - 38. " ..... what shall we do?" Then Peter's answer. Jesus said, in Matt. 6:33, preparing people for the day of Pentecost in Acts Ch. 2 - "Seek ye FIRST the Kingdom of God (salvation), and all these things shall be added unto you." the things of this life , food, raiment, shelter.
  • Lu2677 on Psalms 5 - 8 years ago
Randy,You can add what you want to this; but truth is in His Word."The foolish shall not stand in thy sight; thou hatest all workers of iniquity." Psalm 5:5. God says he hates, you say he doesn't. If you have free will, why is it, that you reject what He says? Luke "For with God nothing shall be impossible" When God saves a person, He gives them the LOVE of the Truth.
  • Sentinel on Romans 11 - 8 years ago
What is this about the remnant, the foreknown, and what does it have to do with us. How do you know then if we are known by God for salvation or damnation. There is still work to be done if you are aware. If I claim salvation based on Paul's teaching, is that it. Sittin' round waiting to die? There's study to find yourself approved. There's the inner life of prayer and inspection. Much todo
  • Irene123 on John 21 - 8 years ago

  • Irene123 on 1 Thessalonians 5 - 8 years ago
Tosha - I'm just really very curious; on which comment were you basing your comment about 'appearance'? I'd like to read it.
  • Brianna vs. 18 on Numbers 14 - 8 years ago
Scriptures like these reveal the personality of God. He is patient and willing to forgive. However, he does not pervert justice like humans do today. If you are guilty, and unrepentant, he will see to it that punishment is administered so justice can prevail. How many times today, do we see people get away with committing crimes? God is truly is the almighty Judge.
  • Bruce on Isaiah 42 - 8 years ago
For there are Three that bear record in Heaven, The Father, The Word, and The Holy Ghost-----:1John5:7 / Your saying man created:The Father,The Word and The Holy Ghost? Are these The Us and Our in Genesis 1? This is His Word, not yours. He said Three that makes a Trinity. There has always been a Trinity. man created nothing! We need His Word always. Put on The Whole Armour of God--- Ephesians 6:11
  • Tosha on 1 Thessalonians 5 - 8 years ago
My comment is this, who judges your appearance? Their is only one God, and he has allowed a few to write some things of what he expects, but unless u have read the entire bible and extra bks, u have no idea what the start of what God our creator expects of our appearance.
  • A disciple on Isaiah 47 - 8 years ago
Hi Irene; Do you understand what happened by the first carrying away of Israel by Assyria, and then of Jerusalem and Judah by Nebuchadnezzar? The kingdom of God through the house of David was taken away because they were unworthy; and so until the end of the times of the Gentiles are they, and we, subjected to the Nations. For Jesus' sake we accept and submit to the punishment till Jesus returns.
  • Irene123 on Acts 5 - 8 years ago
Did anyone know that the cross tree type of death was instituted by the Persians, and the Roman's adopted it? Does anyone care? It is an interesting sidelight, but as with 'arguing' about whether it was or wasn't this or that, none of it has anything to do with - salvation.
  • Irene123 on Isaiah 47 - 8 years ago
The 70 yrs. Babylonian captivity; God didn't begin to 'feel sorry' for His people and 'changed His mind' after - 70 yrs ?! are you kidding me?! God is not a man to change; I change not, therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed, Mal. 3:6. The 70 yrs. was His plan. The God I serve KNOWS what He is about!!! Thank God I can't change His mind! I want a GOD: not a marshmallow.
  • Lu2677 on Deuteronomy 28 - 8 years ago
disciple, Do you believe Ecc.7:5-11? Thank you for your reply. It certainly is a growing process.
If you mean by patient "skirting around an issue, or flattering someone" when someone is speaking against his word, or making a false accusation, then be happy in your patience. (I mean that with respect, not sarcasm) The Lord has taught me to be bold, and stand up for him.
  • Irene123 - 8 years ago
The foregoing post was MUCH longer. Sometimes 'something' cuts them off ..... ?
  • Lu2677 on Psalms 5 - 8 years ago
Dilu, God hates the workers of iniquity; plain English, is it not? Psalm 5:5. Yet, God so loved the world; John 3:16. Some people cannot grasp the truth that God hates people. This "hate" should cause you to Fear him. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
  • Lu2677 on 1 John 4 - 8 years ago
Fredscanlan,You ask"where is this love he speaks of?" answer is in His Word. Romans 11:36"For of him, and through him, and to him are all things, to whom be glory forever." ALL THINGS. Ecc.8:5, Ecc.9:3, Luke 6:45, etc.Seek God He is Love!
After he saved me this is one of the 1st verse that he gave me understanding of, Romans 11:36. And Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Amen
  • A disciple on Deuteronomy 28 - 8 years ago
Thank you, Irene: 2 Timothy 2:16-17 (Stephen's 1550 Textus Receptus) "but profane empty babblings stand aloof from; for they will advance of ungodliness (without piety), and their word as a gangrene will have pasture;..." What was the connection with Deut. 28? I can think, that the evolution of evil over centuries of defiance toward God and His Covenant, absolutely fills up what the Apostle wrote.
  • Lu2577 on 1 Samuel 28 - 8 years ago
Irene 123 What scripture says Christ freed the captive dead saints from the clutches of Satan after his ascension. And where did he hold them captive? If you do not substantiate what you say with scripture, it becomes your opinion. Opinions won't save, correct, or edify anyone. You say"it's God's word";what book and verse? From the KJV, reference from one the 66 books, please.
  • Dilu Goma on Psalms 5 - 8 years ago
'Thou hatest all workers of iniquities': v.5b. I had always believed that God loves the sinner but hates the sin the sinner does. Is my belief wrong in the light of this Scripture?
  • Stephen Botts on Leviticus 15 - 8 years ago
April: 2 Corinthians 6:14King James Version (KJV)

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

  • Interesting on Genesis 1 - 8 years ago
Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he. The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came. The word calling means: to call out to (that is, properly address by name, call (for, forth, self, upon). Eve, being beguiled is not from the beginning .However John 8 44
