God says He hates those who teach the fly away to save souls.

My little children, take heed as you finish your time in the flesh of corruption. Do the wicked not yet see that I numbered myself with the transgressors? For even the lion with his number gets carried away in his own imagination. For the proud beast reveals himself with both his mouth and his hands.
  • Blessed on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Maybe I understood wrong. Did you say there is a difference in Holy Spirit and Holy Ghost?

John 38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

  • Julie on Genesis 2 - 8 years ago
So I am confused. In Chap 1 V 27 it clearly states that God created mankind, this was done on the 6th day. Then Chap 2 V 7, it clearly says He created a man (which occurred AFTER the 7th day (which He rested) So probably on the 8th day he created man from dust. So did He create people before Adam and Eve?
  • Mark on Acts 8 - 8 years ago
Only with the laying on of the hands of a living Apostle did they receive the Holy Ghost. Simon the sorcerer could see this power and offered money. This is the baptism of the Holy Ghost. How do we receive it today?
  • Irene123 on John 7 - 8 years ago
V.42 - " ... of the seed of David, out of ... Bethlehem "? This was at least 30 yrs. after His birth. I wonder of these people at this time, if any were in Bethlehem at His birth, and heard the shepherds, or heard 2nd hand of Jesus birth at the time? Only the Lord knows.
  • Bible thumper on Acts 22 - 8 years ago
Paul was a dark skinned Jew from the tribe of Benjamin...
    Acts 21:
38 Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
39 But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.
  • Irene123 on Matthew 5 - 8 years ago
Jn. 16:33; Matt. 5:45; Acts 7:59; 16:23; These refer to tribulation (trials) in this life. There will be 'some' saints in Rev.13:7 who will go thru the GREAT tribulation; I haven't r'cvd. clarification on that yet. I KNOW tho' that I will not be one of them because they become saints DURING the GREAT tribulation; how? I don't know; I just take it by faith. A saint NOW will be raptured.
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 8 years ago

  • A disciple on Acts 1 - 8 years ago
"The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which he was taken up," For anyone that likes Biblical History; Who was Theophilus? By the meaning of his name many have guessed it was symbolic, as for ALL "Lovers of God." Actually he was High Priest when Luke wrote his Books; which then also gives meaning to how he wrote the Forewords.
  • Irene123 on Acts 18 - 8 years ago
I never saw this before, the connection between this and 1 Cor.1:1 - Sosthenes. In Acts 17:18 which happened before Cor. 1:1, he was a priest in a Jewish synagogue. I guess, after being beaten - he became a Christian or he was a new Christian trying to reach his fellow Jews before being kicked out ..... ?
  • Irene123 on Acts 14 - 8 years ago
V.20 - " ... as the disciples stood round about him ..."; ever wonder what they were doing, just 'standing round about him'? maybe they were thinking, 'well, it's gonna be a few years before Med-vac comes around, so what do we do? They weren't just standing there, they were FERVENTLY praying; that's how Paul presently arose, and went about his business. Oh, I'm sure he had some pains, but .....
  • Irene123 - 8 years ago
Correction - God did use Solomon, but I imagine it was before his apostasy .... ?
  • Irene123 on 1 Peter 5 - 8 years ago
    V. 13 - " ... and so doth Marcus my son." We know Peter was married ( Matt. 8:14; Mk.1:30) so I just wonder if this was his issue or a 'spiritual' son? We know Paul was not married, nor was he a hypocrite as some on here with deviate minds affirm, and that Timothy was his 'spiritual son. God did NOT use hypocrites to write His word.
  • Irene123 on Matthew 24 - 8 years ago
Khethiwe - How did you 'separate' Jesus Christ? You said Jesus was not coming back, but that Christ was ..... ?

  • Irene123 on John 3 - 8 years ago
To be born again - one is born naturally as a physical body. To be born again is a spiritual birth. It happens when you follow Acts 2:38, (note v. 37 where, after Peter's very first message in Jesus new church, the people ask, " ... what must we do?"). Then, all the 'letters' after Acts are instructions to the new churches that have already followed Acts 2:28 on how to live a faithful life.
  • Brianna vs. 7 on Isaiah 52 - 8 years ago
We should welcome those who are preaching about the good news of God's kingdom. This was a commandment from Jesus to do so, and today very few are meeting that call to action. Being able to boldly proclaim the good news is a feature of God's people. Who are going and preaching about the Bible?
