  • A disciple on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
"And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What means this?" When EVER in all of human history, was the world ready and expecting the things which God did among them? And though He is not far from anyone of us, and closer than our hands and feet; yet we have no way to know Him by all that He has made, except He draw us to the Light, and give us understanding and grace.
  • Chrystol on Proverbs 31 - 9 years ago
Who can find a virtuous women? Do they still exist? I pray that when my son is old enough she will be found! He's 15, raised in the church, have a positive attitude, good group of friends, honor roll student, Loves the Lord Jesus Christ. I know I'm a virtuous women. • Seven Trumpets on Psalms 53 - 9 years ago
There is a difference between the workers of iniquity and God's people; and it is that we call upon God, and the other says, no God. What is their folly? and what is their filthiness? Isn't it it the evil in their hearts, and how they go away from God, and refuse all knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and make their life's purpose to oppress and persecute the real Children of God!
  • Joyce Ballentine on Isaiah 6 - 9 years ago
Isaiah 6:8 "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said, here Am I, Send me! He said, Go and tell his people: Be even hearing, but never understanding be ever seeing, but never perceiving." MY MY MY!!! NOT MANY ARE WILLING TO GO FOR THE LORD, WHO CALLED US OUT OF DARKNESS TO HIS MARVELOUS LIGHT CAUSE OF THE FEAR OF FAILURE AND PEOPLE! REMEMBER:
  • MARK - 9 years ago
Still, the most compelling example of baptism for salvation is found in Acts 8,29-39. Phillip was doing exactly as Jesus had said. V 35 says he "taught him Jesus". But, what words was Phillip using? Of course, that Jesus had came and died on the cruel cross of Calvary. But, what else? In the very next verse we see the result of being "taught Jesus". Phillip taught him that he had to be baptized.
  • Irene123 on Exodus 25 - 9 years ago
To Madelin - I assume you want to know something about Ex. ch. 25 ? I'll ry to help ..............
  • Jamie on Exodus 25 - 9 years ago
Did you mean old testament? Jesus is the fulfillment of the O/T. Jesus himself taught much about the O/T. Also the book of Hebrews. When reading the O/T always keep christ in mind.
  • Irene123 on Psalms 53 - 9 years ago
But still, in OUR age of Grace - we are to pray for the 'fools'; He came not to condemn the world, but to save it - one individual at a time; not the whole unrepentant world. There are actually people that believe the world was saved when Jesus was crucified - and there is nothing we need to do - except 'kick back' and enjoy our lives. Why then, would He have sacrificed Himself ..... ?
  • Irene123 on 1 Peter 5 - 9 years ago
To Sean - You may have gotten help on your problem by now with associating with 'unbelievers' ..... ? I send you these in case you've never seen them 1 Cor. 6:12-15.
  • Irene123 on Revelation 11 - 9 years ago
Rev. - the 7 churches - I don't understand just the7; when there are churches everywhere in that area, and all over the world. Maybe these 7 are just 'representative' ..... ? I do know the 7 'angels' are the pastors of these churches. There may be something to it, but the fish and loaves sounds like a stretch. I do know '7' is a favorite no. of God.
  • Sakana on Revelation 11 - 9 years ago
Verse 4. The candlesticks are churches ( Rev 1:20). Christ was only happy with 2 of the 7 and little doubt it's Smyrna and Philadelphia. This shows us the approved churches are here with the 2 witnesses. The other 5 Christ warns will be deceived and spewn from His mouth if they don't care to learn. 2 fish (meat) and 5 loaves (bread with leaven), maybe? (Just supposition on that last bit.) :)
  • Reverent Steve Hislop on Psalms 91 - 9 years ago
I also read Psalm 91 for protection when I served the US Army in Vietnam. Some have said Jesus referred to this portion of Scripture as the sword which Peter misinterpreted at the time thinking Jesus wanted them all to go out and buy literal swords !?
  • Martha on Revelation 11 - 9 years ago
If the saints of God are raptured out then how does He fulfill these scriptures?
Daniel 7:25“And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High; Revelation 13:7“And it was given unto him to make war with the saints,
  • Mayo on John 11 - 9 years ago
Can you tell me why Jesus said so??? Nevertheless he came to the burial ground purposely because of Lazarus and for other dreads.
  • I AM on Exodus 6 - 9 years ago
Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? You know that Jesus Christ is already here! Did you not know it has been given to every spirit to know that Christ is come in the flesh? These people honor me with their lips but their heart is far from me. This liar is a deceiver and an antichrist. Children of God: that antichrist spirit of denial is in many so that you can be sure Christ is now here for the last time. Be thankful as your salvation is nigh!
  • Brianna on 1 John 5 - 9 years ago
Vs. 3 This scripture is clear. To love Jehovah God is not a matter of feelings or words only. It HAS to be proven by our actions. Can one simply go to church on Sunday, and yet live their lives in a way that does not please God every other day? Is this acceptable to God? We know it isn't. If we truly love God, we will read his word the Bible everyday, and APPLY it.
  • Irene123 on Revelation 11 - 9 years ago
The rapture isn't about individuals being taken to heaven - here 'n there; it's the WHOLE church of the Lord Jesus, worldwide, taken to be with Him forever - before the trib. A LOVING God would NOT allow such horror as 7trs. of trib. to befall His people whom He - LOVES. He's certainly not less than an earthly father. How can you say God is love and then say He will let us go thru that?!!
  • Irene123 on Galatians 1 - 9 years ago
To Bruce - You've got me curious; at the end of many of your comments you say, "impossible not to know". How is it impossible not to know? And a week ago you said, "changed: 2 Cor. 5:17." what changed?
  • Irene123 on Acts 28 - 9 years ago
I've seen several on here that I know are aware of the end of Acts - it has no 'closing', no 'amen', no 'bless you all in Jesus name', nothing like that; it just - stops. Does anyone know why this is?
  • Irene123 on Acts 23 - 9 years ago
    V. 2 - Paul spoke truth in v. 1; in v. 2 Ananias commanded Paul to be sote on the mouth, which God stopped. When someone witnesses, in person, by letter, by phone, by PC, - it is wrong to 'smite' them by getting indignant, angry, and saying they are fools, ignorant, etc. In Pro. it says a 'soft' answer, in Isa., Jer.? it says, "Come now, let us reason together, ..... "; cont.
  • Irene123 on Jude 1 - 9 years ago
The canon of the KJV was set by GOD; it is HIS book, after all. Anyone who wants to read the apocrypha can do so; it's in other books; so why complain about it ..... ? You still have your freedom to read the apocrypha. God will keep His book, the KJV, the way He wants it.
  • Irene123 - 9 years ago
    V. 24 - " ....... in sincerity ...". Those 2 words say a lot. "Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee." Psalms ??
  • Sakana on Revelation 11 - 9 years ago
Since when has God raptured or "snatched away" any of his children? Noah went through flood. Moses crossed Red Sea. David fought Goliath. Daniel went IN lion's den. The 3 went THROUGH the fiery furnace. Glory to His name not by running. Rather we go through things and Father protects us. Don't want to run away. Want to STAND/FIGHT, why else bother with armor? Candlesticks are present in Trib, v4.
  • Ambassador for Christ on Ephesians 6 - 9 years ago
This is one of the most potent and powerful scripture which must always be viewed in context. Therefore, We were have to begin at verse :10 and conclude at verse :18. It begs the question what must we do with all that armor?
  • Seven Trumpets on Matthew 27 - 9 years ago
    (25) "Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children." We read these things, and our hearts break with anguish, and we can't believe ANYONE could be so hateful and cruel! All through their history, the disobedient children of Israel have sought every way to break their bands of God, and the world has watched with disgust. But are not the Nations doing the same?
  • Irene123 on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
The incredible potential of nothing - God doesn't see 'nothing' as we see it. For God, nothing is the raw material for everything He created. Why is that important to us? If you feel you are nothing (not prideful, etc.), feel you have nothing to offer God - then you are exactly what God needs to perform a miracle. 'Miracle' equaling - salvation, Acts 2:38.
  • Sakana on Revelation 9 - 9 years ago
Clue to 5 months is v. 6, "in those days men seek death." Rev 6:15-17 they pray (seek) for mountains to fall on them (death). Why? Because Christ returns and they understand they've worshipped false Christ. So, in those days (while locust are here - 5 months), Christ returns. Time HAS been shortened ( Mark 13:20). Cannot be 3.5 yrs. Original length used in Rev to reference Daniel.
  • I AM on Revelation 18 - 9 years ago
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit to his stature? Verily I say to you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! Wherefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added to you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient to the day is the evil thereof. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. It is of the LORD'S mercies that men are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. And, the times of this ignorance God winked at but now commands all men every where to repent: repent ye and believe the gospel that your sins may be blotted out.
  • Peter on Exodus 20 - 9 years ago
    Hi J R Botleng

I don't know if it matters. I just try to keep the Sunday that i was brought up in.

On another matter, I try to keep the commandments but there are few things I can not figure out.
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Why do people take the chance?

I can not figure that out?
  • Cheryl on Luke 17 - 9 years ago
the question for Luke chptr 17 spoke about the Lord healing 10 men but the question throw me because HOW MANY LEAPERS JESUS HEALED IN THE WHOLE BIBLE? An if you look at it this way the Lord had healed more than the questions was asking. I feel the question was out of order because of the statement that the Lord Luke 12 when the Lord entered into the village THERE WERE 10 LEPERS,
