  • Jeanie on 1 Corinthians 15 - 9 years ago
Have you guys noticed they talk about how people that are dead are sleeping again. They say that alot in almost every book in the bible how people who r dead are sleeping and waiting for christ to come again. Why are people being taught that we go to heaven or hell when that is not what it is teaching us. In revelatiion it said how the dead shall rise when christ comes. Were they not risen?
  • Irene123 on Romans 14 - 9 years ago
To Bernice Maxwell - Sorry Bernice, satan is NOT going to 'worship' God. Why do you think satan is trying to get everybody to follow him instead of God? You've heard of or know people who hate, i.e. Hitler, etc.; Well, where do you s'pose that hate in them came from? Maria, you need to acknowledge that satan is pure evil, or you won't make it. This is said with love to you, pls b'lve me.
  • Joshua on Matthew 6 - 9 years ago
Seek His Kingdom first - in your heart what is laid out before you? Are you giving your all to the Lord by giving your all to Him and or people? Because the second commandment it like the first. We must do both. The second is conditional considering you love yourself first. Otherwise it impedes the commandment itself. But to go after His Kingdom - first requires a lot of not going after His Kingdom and knowing the difference. His Righteousness - Breakthroughs in personal bondage to sin and lust and pride and greed and anger and hate all have to begin with the error in doing them. After a season of recognizing personal failure can the knowledge of His Righteousness be attainable. Righteousness is given by Him. But you have to seek Him and fail to know the difference. Only by personal experience can someone actually achieve this verse over their lifetime. That is why this verse is pact with so many hints that it is a work of sanctification and not of good works but of grace because so much of it depends of Him,,..... His,.... in order for it to be realized. There is only subtle things we can do other than sit back and enjoy the process. Like kids you can imagine the weary question,..."are we there yet?,..." and the loving Father responds "No, I'll let you know when we get there."
  • Irene123 on Micah 6 - 9 years ago
"He hath shewed thee, o man, what is good, and what does the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God"? Eccl.12:13 - Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and obey His commandments: For this is the whole duty of man." John 14:15 - :If ye love me, keep my commandments." This is what the WHOLE word of God is all about.
  • Donna Wilkins on John 6 - 9 years ago
"Whom shall we go" is a great question. Indeed, who but Christ offers us forgiveness of sin, eternal life, the hope of resurrection, and to raise us up to eternal perfection? As we seek Him, strive to keep His commandments and follow in His foot steps, repenting when needed, and serve Him and our fellowman He will save us in the end.
  • Irene123 on Jonah 4 - 9 years ago
To Anne on Jonah ch. 4; Anne, that was beautiful, and so well said, and easy to read - very good typing; you must proof read.....?
I was raised a newspaper editors dau., and I still forget to proof read.
  • Robert Johnson on Matthew 6 - 9 years ago
JUST GO FEED THE CHILDREN OF GOD!! Winning souls for Jesus Christ?? Why don't you go save a child, so there is soul left to save?? Now get unfold yer hands, get up off your knees and WALK, straight out that door!!For you are wasting time... As it is written... Acts 17:24 "God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands 25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things " What are you waiting for?? AN EN'GRAVED' INVITATION!!
  • Rebecca on Genesis 2 - 9 years ago
Why does Genesis 1 and 2 seem to contradict? Or is it that chapter one is like the thesis in the beginning of an essay while chapter 2 elaborates and goes into more detail of what the first chapter said?
  • Irene123 on 1 Samuel 17 - 9 years ago
You have to just love David; Ps. 20:17 - ".....but we will remember the name of the Lord our God." 1 Sam. 17:45 - "....., but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts ....."; (who is the 'phillistine' to defy the armies of the living God?!"). I love it, I love it; HALLELUJAH!!!
  • Irene123 on Psalms 11 - 9 years ago
To Goodness - Why do bad things happen to good people? As far as living in this world is concerned, before we are with Him in Heaven - everybody has to experience the good and bad; for the Christian the bad helps us grow in Him; for the bad it (hopefully) helps them to see Him; Matt. 5:45; Eccl.2:14,15; 8:14; 9:11. These verses will help you understand.
  • Irene123 on Luke 4 - 9 years ago
To Bruce - I can see you WANT satan to have his own power; Jesus is bigger than that, Bruce; Jesus is God and He is ALL powerful; if God created satan - you know God is ALL power - and satan as none. It's just - common sense. "Come, let us reason together ..............."; God wants us to use our common He gave us. And - why do you think satan was there before God that day? To ASK ...........
  • Irene123 on Acts 10 - 9 years ago
To Jacob - I 'think' I get what you are saying; that Paul is the better of the 2 (Peter), to follow. I found 2 scriptures of Paul's that dispute following him - IF that is what you said ...? They're both in 1 Cor.ch.1. He speaks of this VERY thing and in the last verse makes it plain we are to follow - JESUS. ALL Bible scripture is His, not man's.
  • Irene123 on Acts 9 - 9 years ago
V, 7 - they head the voice .....; just like Malchus in the gospels, I wonder, did they turn to God with Paul? we'll never know this side of Heaven. Maybe they couldn't understand the words ....? Saul was so full of ZEAL for God, not knowing who he was; so God just took his zeal and - turned him around. I love Paul; so does our pastor. There have been many who have been near like Paul, but not quite
  • Irene123 - 9 years ago
P.S. - I doubt now, in fact I KNOW you couldn't put up a religious sign like that; no "in God we trust" on coins, no pledge of allegiance in school, no 10 commandments on gov't property. I'm surprised one can wear a 'WWJD' whatever now; I've never worn such so maybe we can't .....?
  • Delroy on 1 Chronicles 1 - 9 years ago
If one does not study Chronicles is he or she neglecting to study the Bible? I know all the Bible is God's word and He has a reason why they are there so help me out here
  • Wayne on Revelation 21 - 9 years ago
J, do you have scriptures for your statement, man is nothing and never will be anything?
  • Irene123 on Isaiah 54 - 9 years ago
To S. Morrow on Isa. 54:17 - were you commenting on the 'Verse of the Day'? I missed your point .....?
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
To Rodney- again; I know I said in my last message that it was 'all', but I did need to explain more of why I 'attacked' him; He is a pastor, right? I'm not angry nor indignant with him; it's just I was raised to believe pastors are to seek God for their guidance and answers; not their flock. The pastors are to teach the flock, not vice versa. We are DEFINITELY not to teach the pastors, 1pet.5:2.
  • Irene123 on Ezra 5 - 9 years ago
To S. Woehr - I've wondered the same thing about Nehemiah and Esther; They were both in "Shushan the Palace". Were they contemporaries? They were both around the time of the Babylonian captivity. But neither is mentioned in the others story.....? I know for a fact that's it's not a mistake; it's God's word and He does not make mistakes.
  • Rick on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
Tony Chapman, you think that is curiously awesome? Pay very close attention to Gen 1:4 God divided the light from the darkness--indicating that at one time they were co-mingled. I can't even imagine what that would look like!
  • Irene123 on 2 Thessalonians 1 - 9 years ago
To Brianna 10 mos. ago - quote, "The question then is: when?" unquote. Acts 1:7
  • Mark on Genesis 2 - 9 years ago
If Eve came from Adams Rib...who is the Female the bible says that God created on the sixth day WITH Adam?...Is this a misprint?
  • Yolanda on Matthew 2 - 9 years ago
I believe in the word of Mathew n feel that the prophies had been fullfilled Amen I read and feel burdened by the death n law of male children. My question is how long Herold slaughtered these innocent babies? Was it truly rigbteous to obey act of murder..Did God give power to unrighteous men? Because of sinners in a land with no law?
  • Irene123 on 1 John 2 - 9 years ago
To Jerry Parker - You've read 1 Jn.3:24. Now go to Acts 2:37-38 to see HOW we have His spirit in us. Notice the people said, "Men and brethren, what must we DO?" Living for God is not a 'passive' thing; you have to DO something physically, just as Jesus did; He did not passively die on a cross. He DID something to save us. And you SHALL receive; that is a PROMISE; God cannot lie.
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
To Bible Reader on salvation - repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus; do you include the 'evidence' of tongues in that .....?
  • Irene123 on John 21 - 9 years ago
To Pastor Troy - Why are you a pastor if you don't know the answer to Peter's nakedness.....? Anyway, it could be an allegory to his sin in denying Jesus 3 times; the sin made him naked .....? Just a stab in the dark. Maybe Peter's coat was his attempt to cover his own sin? OR - it could just be that it was summer and the nights were still hot. You sweat a lot in that work.
  • Irene123 on Joshua 7 - 9 years ago
Achan's sin: it was a sin; Achan stole from God. That's made very plain. Ai: in the 1st place, Joshua did NOT pray for God's guidance before Ai. Had he prayed God would have told him of Achan. Joshua was 'presumptuous'. God tells what we need to know, but we have to ask him - "is there anything I need to know before this battle?" That's why Ai defeated them.
  • Irene123 on Joshua 2 - 9 years ago
I've read this ch. many times, but just this time took notice of v. 10; Rahab says 'they' (her family) remember the Red Sea event. This had to have been told to Rahab as a child; she would be too old at this time to be in this 'lifestyle' still - or maybe not .....? Just as in Deut. God tells His people to read and talk of His word always, the Gentiles keep these stories alive.
  • Lydia Williams on Jeremiah 4 - 9 years ago
I think Jeremiah was called to do a job back then that is still relevant today. God has shown in his word how much he loves us and don't want us deceived to turn away from Him. Like then, he has sent many to warn us of that danger. The best part is, he has given us the power to choose our own destiny. He never gave up on us and He never will. Will we give up on him? Choose life over death, peace!
  • Irene123 on 1 Peter 2 - 9 years ago
To BSP on loving the Bible - Love it? I don't read anything but - and books about the Bible, but not the Christian novels. I tried about 3 of those; I can't get into Biblical fiction; too boring. The word of God is - EXCITING!!! I love the story of Elijah and the prophets of baal; makes me laugh everytime I read it. And Balaam and his 'dumb' donkey. God's got a sense of humor.
