  • Mine' on Hebrews 5 - 10 years ago
Hebrews tell us that God ordains men for the priesthood for the things of God. That they may have compassion on the ignorant, and on those that are away from God. This honor is not chosen by man, but by God. God choices men for the priesthood from generation to generation, and even for today. They are to be the mediators between God and his people. We are chosen by God to preach the good news of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. That we may turn the people back around to God? God calls us his priesthood and his holy people. God the Father said that Jesus was the high priest forever after the order of Melchisedec, Aaron etc. It is only by study the word of God that I find understanding. I pray before I do anything in the name of Jesus. And by believing that Jesus will help me understand is when I find the meaning to his words. Sometimes I feel like I 've been in the same place for to long. Then when trouble comes I don 't have enough of the meat of the word to know what to do. I feel like am still a baby and have need of milk from the word of God.

  • Mike D on Psalms 119:69 - 10 years ago
My thoughts went immediately to 1 Peter 2:20 For what glory is it, if when being buffeted for your faults, you take it patiently? But if when you do well, and you suffer for it, and you take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. David was no stranger to unjust accusations and neither will the practicing Christian, who openly share his faith. They that live godly will suffer persecution. David demonstrated the right response under the attack of liars. He simply trusted God and went on living and seeking God. A pastor years ago was facing all sorts of lies. When asked of his wife, aren 't you going to defend yourself, he replied, "I will live my life in such a way that no one will believe what 's being said about me. "

  • Janie King on James 2 - 10 years ago
Works? To me this has always been "jobs things " we do for others as God leads but this morning as I read James 2:20-26 it became very apparent that our obedience is also "works " that is the result of faith. When Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice it points out that obedience was "works " stimulated by his faith in God. So, it 's not a matter of hunting for jobs to do to show our faith, obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit shows we are alive as our faith brings about our obedience to fulling the directions of the Word of God for our lives.

Verse 32 tells us plainly that not only do they practice this lifestyle but those who don 't still have pleasure in those that do. I see it on every forum. They have changed the truth of God into a lie.II Peter tells us that Sodom Gomorrah was destroyed as an example to those who should follow. Well if God destroyed these vile cities as an example, what is coming to this country? Our corrupt leaders have put their ok to sin.May God show mercy upon this sinful and rebellious nation.
  • Shay on Genesis 1 - 10 years ago
Genesis 1:7 "And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. " God made the sky a solid vault that divides water above and below said vault? So above our apparently tangible atmosphere there is a literal Heaven, and above that there is nothing but water? Someone please help me to better understand this, because this doesn 't seem to make any sense to me. I am open to other interpretations.
  • Marcus on Revelation 18 - 10 years ago

  • Audrey on Jonah 4 - 10 years ago
When God gives instructions we must follow because he chooses who he wants go do his work. Look back on Moses leading the Israelites outvof the clutches of pharoah. He could not do it unless God gave the command, so ad children of God we must be orepared to listen and respond to the voice of God and not do our own thing. He is a jelous God. Jonah disobeyed God and paid the penalty. Let us all adhere to his voice because it makes a difference. We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. I pray that we all listen to make our election sure. As children of God we cannot sit back and relax. We need to spread his words far and wide. His coming is near, the writing is on the wall. Let us put on the whole armour of God and prepare for the battle. Satan is on the loose because he knows his days are numbered. Thanks be to God for his promise to redeem his people. The rapture is at hand, are you ready?

Something else to consider is that the passage clearly indicates that the husband should be compensated for damages incurred, which implies a monetary loss. A male child would be viewed as a future worker a female child could either provide future labor or be sold. If the woman is so close to her due date that she is able to deliver a live, healthy child, what loss has the husband sustained?

  • Born again 1pet1:23-25 on Acts 2:38 - 10 years ago
care of my brother STEPHEN HOOPERS The reason people do not like Acts 2:38,is it donot agree with the doctrine of the Trinity. There is no record of water baptism in the titles or trinity in the word of God.After Jesus rose from the dead,he spoke to the Apostles for forty days,he told them to baptize in the father, and the son,and the holy ghost. The apostles went forth and baptized in the name of jesus.Either jesus is the name of the father, and of the son,and of the holy ghost,or the apostles did not obey what jesus commanded them to do.I believe the apostles were right, they were guided by the holy spirit.I thank God for this truth.God bless apostles Knew THE NAME of this FATHER,SON,HOLY GHOST its not "baptize in the father, and the son and the holy ghost " it should be Baptizing them " "IN THE NAME " " ' singular this is you pastor brother mentor what is you name Stephen Hoopers mathew 28:19 go ye therefore, and teach all nations, Baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost NAME is singular baptizing them " "INTHE NAME " " " "who 's name? " of the FATHER of course who is that Father is the FATHER is a name or a tittle and of the " SON " is the SON is name or a tittle and of the "HOLY GHOST " is the HOLY GHOST is a name or tittle Acts 2:38 then peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized every one of you IN THE NAME of JESUS CHRIST for the remission of sins, and ye SHALL received the gift of HOLY GHOST.
  • Gregory foreman on Matthew 6:22 - 10 years ago
Why would Jesus say "the eye " not the eyes? I believe he was referring to the mind 's eye or our imagination. Our mind 's eye is how we see and believe the promises of God. That 's what is meant by "looking at the things that are not seen ". Jesus always referred to the spirit of man. He tells us "above all else protect the heart, from it flows the issues of life ". He 's not referring to the physical heart but our spirit. We see with our eyes, plural. We work with our hands, not hand. We walk with our feet not foot.
  • Lipson on 2 Timothy 2 - 10 years ago
In deed i came to realize one thing in life that one cannot go anywhere unless he she puts his her trust in God. Some time people are fond of lying to themselves that they cannot see what 's happening in the real word. May have tried to mock God but the question is that most of them "where are they? " some are no more. Christians, when we trust in God and believe that HE saves then that is when God shall reveal HIMSELF through as so as the whole world can know Who HE is. Another way God cannot also reveal Himself through various situations that you go through. Sometimes people god through hard situations and ask themselves so many questions as to whjy they should go through such. The answer is simple, God cannot reveal himself through not only one way, even Jesus underwent the same situation and he was able to overcome. Friends, even me i sometimes go through such cases but through persistent trust in God we are able to overcome as per my experience.
  • Delica on John 3:13 - 10 years ago
Jesus is telling Nicodemus that being born again is not a new teaching. It is there in the scriptures which he should have known. He is explaining what it means to believe in Jesus. The faith of Jesus includes a renewal of obedience to the commandments. Jesus quotes the scriptures in Deuteronomy 30:11-14: "For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. It is not in heaven, that you should say, 'Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it? ' Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it. ' But the word is very near to you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it. " Paul quotes this same passage in Romans 10:6-8: 6 But the righteousness that comes from faith talks like this: Don 't say in your heart, "Who will go up into heaven? " that is, to bring Christ down 7 or "Who will go down into the region below? " that is, to bring Christ up from the dead . 8 But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart that is, the message of faith that we preach . This is evidence that instead of rabbinical law rituals of purity like hand washings and circumcision , Jesus taught a renewal and rebirth of God 's law which is His commandments also summed up in the law of love.

Not sure I can say too much more than what everyone else has said. Meditation on gods word is important. It 's more than reading, but reading with a person to discern our Heavenly Father, Jehovah. Some tips for meditation: ask yourself, what does this teach me about Jehovah? Why did Jehovah handle matters in the way he did? What can I learn from this bible account? A deep personal study such as that helps us to draw closer to Jehovah, and that will definitely lead us to a successful path in life.
